The Alamo agent stated he had no automatic cars available & we were fine with taking a manual vehicle. The agent kept saying no no…my friend will give you a bigger car for less money & insurance coverage. We were then brought to His friend at MEX rental car. When the Amex agent walked us towards the shuttle to pick up our rental car, he pulled us to the side & extorted a “tip” out of us for giving us a better deal. The car we got was filthy inside & out & not a typical Alamo standard type vehicle. The seats were covered in dirt like someone was sweating all over the seats & all the dirt they had on them had sweat right onto the interior. And, to top it all off, the wiper fluid was empty & the wipers were useless…they really needed to be changed out, even if the vehicle had washer fluid in it. Needless to say, even though we ultimately were not allowed to rent from Alamo, our experience was not one I’d like to repeat.

I rented a VW Jetta and the car was in perfect conditions and sanitized for the Covid 19.I don´t appreciate being pushed for insurance. When booking in Kayak, every time I would like information about insurance options. I don´t like going to the car rental counter and having to argue under pressure with the rental company representative.

When I got there they tried to rip me with the cost for insurance. I walked out and did not rent the car. It was the worst car rental experience I have ever had in 31 years renting a car in Cancun.

The car itself was fine.Totally ripped me off. The Kayak shown price was $21 for the weekend, INCLUDING taxes. That’s why I chose this reservation—even though it was a dinky little car, that was a fantastic sale price. When I arrived, there was mandatory insurance, a different rate, new taxes, and mandatory prepaid tank of gas, all resulting in a price of $175 for the weekend—almost 9 times more than I had planned to pay. By the time I was there it was too late to change to another company... no need to spend more hours of an already short weekend getaway shopping for rental cars. But this was totally deceptive and I’m very unhappy. Kayak should not be listing Alamo’s deceptive prices in the future.

We were given a car that was much, much smaller than what was reserved. We arrived late due to delayed flight but that’s no excuse to give away our car and offer us something half the size of what I booked. Never will rent from Budget again.

Everything was great but we were given a price of $72.01 for 5 days including taxes. In reality, it costs us over $400 by adding the no fault insurance. There has to be a happy medium where good coverage does not cost an arm and a leg !

After I complained they changed me the vehicle for another brand, and cleaner, not perfectly clean but cleaner.Don't show photos of cars the rental hasn't in stock, and don't offer things that will never be true, I choosed Budget because of the photo (A Jeep Wrangler) and the price $35 (When I payed more than $400).

Our flight was late so we showed up to Budget in Cancun an hour and a half after our car should have been ready. When we got to the desk, they informed us we had to purchase car insurance for $350 for the week. When our car was finally ready a half hour later (two hours after it should have been ready), it was dark and the car had an empty gas tank. We decided to ditch the car rental and take a taxi, which ended up being a great decision. Do not use Budget.

Just wow! We prepaid for a car rental, did the research to know to avoid the insurance scams (even took the 30pg credit card coverage printout) and then....they finally agreed but we trying to force a deposit/hold on our credit card , "required in Mexico" of...$12,000USD! Yes, three zeros. We thankfully had a connection to a non scam driver service but there were so many people waiting/trying to find alternatives after cancelling their booked car. No refund, no service, no anything. Just brutal. Also, the locals recommend never renting a car, as the 'police' extortion is escalating (min $100USD payoffs are standard) and the secondary roads are pretty bad.

The service at Europcar Cancun Airport was excellent, they were very attentive and helpful, and the car itself was great . Unfortunately there is no option to purchase insurance ahead of time online, they do not accept personal foreign insurance policies, and insurance is required in Mexico. It is the most expensive insurance I've ever seen anywhere, increasing the week long rental cost from under $100 USD to almost $900 USD! This should be given as a warning when booking online.

Even though I show them the insurance coverage that I had with my credit card. They still wanted to put a 15000 usd deposit for renting the car if I did not take insurance. What a rip off rhey state that the car cost was 15000 so I need to leave the deposit for that amount which is ridicoulous since that car with 15000 kms on it can not possible worth that. They basically force you to buy a 320 insurance which costed more that the actual rental. Also not the first time I see this guys give you the vehicle with no gas when you pick up. Its so annoying and frustarting to gave paid 300 on a "insurance" that my credit card clearly offer.

The worst experience I ever had with a rental agency. They hide charges from you until you reach the location and increase the price by 4 times and also threaten you by saying that we have to hold the deposit of the car value around $15,000 usd. Initially provided a manual car and when I showed my reservation, was provided a automatic car which was so old that had around 90,000 miles on it and scratches all over including the rims. The car did not even had automatic lock/unlock. Had to use the key every time to open the door. The representative Sanchez Villela Pinto Kenneth Alejandro was so gullible and rude. There were cars lying through out the parking lot but he was not willing to exchange the car with all the issues. One of the customers left the place denying the rental because of his behavior. He was scrolling through facebook all the time talking to us and was trying to cover the kiosk screen to hide the options from us. Never ever going to the rental agency again and would suggest to stay away from it.

The worst company to deal with. Not only did the double charge me, but almost a week after I have dropped off the car, I still don’t have my deposit or the amount they double charged me back. Emails are never replied, during calls they tell me to email. Do not recommend going with this company.

This was an awful experience that resulted in an additional $700 purchase on site for insurance which, we already had. They tried to argue with us at drop off that the photo we’d taken of the gas tank reading as near empty was photoshopped. This is after someone at pickup had put the note on our file stating they confirmed the tank was near empty. The fact that they require $10,000 USD to be charged (not just a credit card hold but, they actually charge $10,000 and then they will refund you “later”) without any physical contract to leave with OR any review of the vehicle prior to pick up.

We cancel the rent because at Europcar airport Cancún They try to scam us arguing we have to pay $60 dlls/day in assurance and $4000 dlls deposit to have the car. I check the prices in internet and it’s was $33dlls/day and $200 deposit. I ask to the lady way à so big difference and she say is because you take the car true a discount site. I say a want the normal price and she say no if I want the car I hade to pay to big price I cancel and left They ruins my first day of vacation. Now I will love to have my money back. But it’s seem is going to be difficult

This was by far the worst car renting experience in my lifetime. It took us an hour to find the airport-to-rental shuttle because there was none. Some guy was hiding in shade with a t-shirt for one car company, while we rented from the other, while turns out they were the same company. Once we found him, he called the shuttle, and eventually the shuttle arrived. When we finally got to the rental office, they charged us another $450 USD for "mandatory insurance", and another $900 USD as a "mandatory deposit." They wouldn't release the car to us otherwise. That was on top of $250 that I paid to Kayak. It then took an hour to have them bring us the car. We arrived to Cancun at 2pm, and we were finally able to drive off the lot at 5:30pm. That's two and half hours to rent a car in 90F heat, with two young kids. That's insane. But the best part was the car, and the car was a junker! When you get a small car in US, you get something small but nice. The car we got here was all scratched up, dented, had rubber bits peeling off, had a missing wiper, and no windshield fluid. The biggest problem was the transmission. At slow speeds, or on hills, the transmission simply disengaged! The car would just stop in the middle of the road, and required going back to neutral and back to Drive in order to reactivate. All in all, I'd rent this 0 stars experience. It was awful.

Fair Warning: Avoid this company! When I showed up, they refused to rent the car to me unless I produced a written copy of my insurance or purchased a $700 insurance policy from them. I had already purchased insurance from an independent company, but there was never any notification that I needed to bring proof in a certified paper document. When I asserted that my Citbank credit card also provided rental car insurance as a backup, they refused that as well. My $200 booking turned into a $900 booking, and I was stuck paying for it because I was now off-airport at their site and had no easy way to get back to the airport to rent something else. This was a scam if ever I saw one.

This company clearly operates with predatory practices. Located about 5 miles from the airport, we had to wait for an hour for a pick-up. Once there, they required us to accept an over $600 charge for liability insurance, even though we understood that companies there must carry their own insurance and additional is not required. They would not let us rent without it. I strongly urge you to remove this predatory company from your list, Thank you.

We were hit with a choice between putting a $16,000 deposit on our credit card to waive insurance, or buying insurance that cost much more than the car rental itself. A nasty surprise at the end of a long, tiring travel day. There should be a warning about this at the time of booking! Everything else was fine about the car.

I bought insurance for the vehicle I rented from the rental company. I accidentally backed into a pole and the car sustained a small dent. The company did not honor the insurance and made me pay out of pocket for the damages. The reason they gave me for not honoring the insurance I purchased is that I didn’t call the company when the accident happened. It is a complete scam and should be investigated. I plan to contact the company and Kayak to try to get my money back. It’s outrageous! Do NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

They do not provide complete information about cost of rental and required documentation needed. The car had many dents and scratches. The "Check Engine" lamp was lighted and I was told just ignore it, Air conditioning system died on my return to the airport.

They sold the car before we got there, so the reservation was pointless. The customs took 1.5 hours which they claimed caused them to believe we didn't want the car. We had to walk the line and pay twice as much for a car.

Convenient and decent price (though not cheap) from a reputable brand. People at site are helpful. Oscar was good. Word of caution: check your vehicle VERY carefully for damage before accepting the car and take pictures. They may claim you damaged the car and try to withhold your deposit if they think you damaged the car.

price indicated by kayak/national 1290,87€ is completely wrong / misleading as it does not include the minimum MANDATORY insurance !!! (+/- 400€, only covering third party responsibility !!!) in total I paid 1795€ (+40%) without any proper insurance. for a "full" insurance, they requested another +/- 850€ that I was not willing to pay This is "organized theft" as when your are at the National rental office, 10 minutes in shuttle away from the Cancun Airport, you have no choice anymore... I fully understand that options are not included in the price quoted online but not the mandatory insurance. I will use other providers in the future.

The staff was amazing. It was very easy to pick up and drop offI was quoted 22 dollars a day. I ended up paying more than double that. I didn’t even pay for the insurance and I still payed more than double. It would be nice if the quote told you about fees instead of misleading you to think you’re getting a great deal.

Horrible experienceOur flight was delayed and they cancelled our reservation. Agent at the counter offered an alternative with another company (something nded like something under the table) for five times the cost of my original reservation. In the end we were left without a car.

Scammed in Cancun with Enterprise car rental. Enterprise did not hold our car. We reserved it for the time of our arrival at 5pm but our luggage took an hour to be unloaded and retrieved. The Enterprise agents at Cancun International Airport told us that they only held reservations for one hour and our car was given away. He then sent us to an alternative company that still had cars. The process of renting from them took over 2 hours to complete and they charged us $900 (3X that of our Enterprise reservation). No where on my booking or in the FAQs does it warn that reservations will be cancelled after one hour. Very disappointed. I feel like I was scammed first thing off the plane and it set a bad tone for our long awaited and much needed vacation. You need to do better Enterprise.

Great service with friendly staff. More expensive that the other options, but very easy to deal with, so worth it in my opinion. I selected the cheapest car option and the vehicle I got was pretty low end, but still totally serviceable.

Overall it was a good experience. Oh I am a little confused how the final price ended up being so much more than what I reserved. I know I did add an extra driver so it was a cost per day but that plus the original reservation wasn’t as much as my final bill which was hard for me to figure out with the peso to US dollar conversion and not understanding the bill itself.

It felt like they scammed me with a rental that went from $124CAD to $376. I only included liability insurance and 2 carseats for 2 days what I was quoted ahead of time by Dollar, $238 plus $60 total for the seats. But they don't tell you on the website that there is a 29.5% fees added to that(I assumed maybe 10%), the car seats were out of date, and we never got the car we wanted. We got a beat up Suzuki instead of a Jeep. The problem is after a long flight with 2 small kids and a 2 hr line up at the rental, you'll sign anything to get going.

The price shown when I made the reservation wasn't the one I had once I got there. They charged me a "mandatory" insurance although I already had one with my credit card. It doubled the original price. I won't come back anymore, really poor experience. Also, it was impossible to find the counter, there was no one there at first. Hopefully a lady helped me and said that Hertz and Dollar are basically the same.

Honestly, I didn't know renting an SUV would cost about 1200 upfront 400 would come back to me but I didn't account for that cost so we went with the full-size car for 500 with 150 coming back all this to say read your rental agreement it doesn't say anything about insurance which feels like a rip-off but you must have it so when your planning just account for this charge to be $90/$75/$55

Be careful with renting from Dollar/Hertz, they tried to charge me for unnecessary fees, taxes and insurance, the price doubled from the reserved agreed up amount. At that point it was cheaper to get taxis so we walked away.

Holy Insurance Batman!Dollar rental was a good value. I liked having unlimited miles for our roadtrip.I was surprised that insurance cost almost double what I paid for the rental. It'd be nice to know the insurance prices upfront. Huge sticker shock since my personal insurance wouldn't cover a rental outside the US. In Cancun our flight arrived late at night. I knew arriving late at night might be problematic, but Dollar had reassured me that someone would be available to help us and that they'd shuttle us from the terminal to our vehicle. Well, it was 12:30AM and I couldn't find anyone at or near the terminal to shuttle us. I called 6 times, over 30 minutes, to the number provided and it would just ring endlessly. We finally had to pay for a taxi to take us to the Dollar location about 1/2 mile from the terminal. Finally I was able to talk to someone and drive away with a vehicle at 1:30AM.

I made a reservation for pick up at the Cancun office for a 10 days rental. The price at the time I made the reservation was $575.62. At the moment fo the pick up the price was $1,839 after including mandatory insurance, etc. In addition the reservation was for a VW sedan that at the moment of the pick up was sold out and our only option was a Nissan Kick which was a cheaper model online but no discount was applied. There is definitely a lack of transparency on prices that are shown here

It was the shittiest experience ever. Got to the counter and surprise: my car was not available anymore, because it’s “peak season, and someone else took it earlier”. The option they gave me instead was x2 times more expensive. Will never use this service again, and will proactively tell my network not to do so.

Renting a car in Mexico is a scam. You might pay 800 and something dollars to rent a car which you are happy to agree to, but then they come and fight you tooth and nail charging you another $1200 just for a car insurance for a week and a half. When we first started, they were trying to charge me $700 higher than this as well. There are shuttle options or you are better off bargaining when you get there, but this overall process is ridiculous. I would not advise booking anything unless you have a total price set in stone for the insurance and the rental. I know some people are and should be reluctant to trust the opinions of others traveling in a foreign country who may not be familiar with the ways of the world, but keep in mind I have been to 65 countries with a backpack and I am very aware of their shenanigans. Got scammed ( $500 worth ).Trifty in Cancun Airport. Noone to talk to, noone to deal witht the issue. Rude customer service. On top of it - they didnt even bother to tell us that their drop off location is different from pick up location ( and its not even drop off with Trifty but with Hertz whic is located in a totally different place ) Spent so much time driving around and looking for them that missed our flight to US, which cost us a huge headache to deal with and extra $300 dollars to stay in Airport hotel. Never again will I rent with Thrifty.

Everything was fine except the outrageous last minute insurance fees that quintupled the cost of the rental. They charged much more for insurance than I have ever paid in 20 years of renting, and there was no way to find this hidden cost until I got to the counter.

Literally nothing.DONT EVER RENT HERE, it’s not actually thrifty it’s Hertz and unless you want to get screwed with whatever price they want to give you then don’t book. Also unless you have a $1500 - $6,000 deposit to leave then don’t even bother. Plus your rental will be at least 3 times what you booked for if they even have a car. Basically they’ll just decide whatever they’re going to charge you like roulette.

Hidden charges and no pick upNothingOur shuttle was over an hour late. When we finally got to the car rental agency they tried to demand huge fees for extra insurance and taxes that made the rental extremely higher than other agencies. We ended up renting from another company all together and cancelling our reservation and additional purchased insurance because the customer service was so terrible.

They will charge $35/ day more for collision damage wavier and $32/ day for liability insurance. I was able to decline cdw as my credit card covers it but liability insurance was compulsory. Later I found out there are many rentals which give liability insurance for free. So check that out. Don't get Carried away by the low price. And ya they will charge 10% extra for airport rentals + 4% extra for using credit card :-\

Mexico Payless RentalFriendliness of staff, new and clean carNo one told me the car rental location was ten minutes away from airport. I had to call for someone for a shuttle to car rental place from airport. Had to wait about 20 minutes. Other than that everything was great.

It had 4 wheels and fit our family of 4 and bags. Nice red color and air conditioning worked.Radio didn't work, Car was banged up everywhere, automatic nothing including windows, mid size car was actually only for 4 passengers. Car had over 90k miles on it. Paid at least twice the quoted amount after fees and insurance.

SchmeservationIt had 4 wheels.We reserved a 12 passenger van. They didn't have this and had to give us 2 separate vehicles and promised us they would bring us the van in the next 2 days. This didn't happen and we had to make contact again and FINALLY got the van we had reserved. Kayak quoted us $250 and the actual price was $680.

I will never rent from Payless againThe man who rented to us at the Tulum outlet (Elias) was extremely rude and condescending. I never complain but this was beyond anything I had experienced before. The car we were given did not start after two days and we had to take it back. Elias was not there when we switched cars but we were told to see him for a refund on all of the gas we had put in the car that was no longer starting. The night we dropped off the car that wouldn't start, the man working there couldn't even move the car because the starter was so dead. Elias said there was nothing wrong with the car and then said "this kind of thing always happens with people like you". He said we were lying about the car and although he eventually did, he did not want to reimburse us for the 250 pesos of gas that we were owed. He was rude and believed that having a string tied to the broken door handle in the car was also acceptable. He is a total crook and we will not be back.

When we checked in to pick up our car, they never told us they did not have a full size car available for us. Instead of upgrading us or informing us, we waited for about 30 minutes for our car to show up then told us after we asked about it that they didn’t have it. They still didn’t upgrade us at this point. Eventually a full size car pulled in, still wet from being washed and only a half tank of gas. The insurance also doubles the rental price.

Hi, Haven’t a car at the airport. The price has more than doubled, it was a joke. We took a taxi and we pass by the agency of our hotel to rent a car for our journey. I sent email about my angriness and for the cancellation but haven t received any follow up, so client service was not good. If any payment is requested I will block it. thanks Kr Mathieu

Made a reservation 30dec morning for $286 from 30dec to 2jan for a budget car. When I came they increase my price to ~$500 + 800$ deposit. I tried to send a message to company - no results, just lost 2 hours of my short vacations. ACE works thru MEX rental company in Cancun airport. Never ever will book with them again. Go out and find a car from small local car rental office for $350 for 4 days.

The staff member who went over the contract and additional fees/charges was not clear or open about all the various charges that would be added on to our base rate. Throughout the course of our trip, we realized that both hubcaps on the drivers side were not the right size for the wheel/tire and were attached with zip ties. While driving around on surface streets and highways, both drivers side hubcaps came off because they were not appropriately attached.

The car was ready when we got there and we didn’t have to wait long.They price ended up doubling when we got there. Instead of paying the rate we were promised on Kayak they had many fees added on like a 20% airport fee that were not expected. The car rental concierge also tried to force me to purchase a $2,500 protection plan, I was arguing that the card on file wouldn’t allow that size of transactions and it wouldn’t work but he insisted. Finally he told me I could get full coverage for the car for 30% of the total price.

The counter at Cancun Airport told us that the pickup shuttle will be there in 6 to 7 minutes. It did not arrive till 45 minutes after! The car was not ready and we had to wait 15 minutes for it.

I rented the car by internet to pick it up at Cancun airport and I received a call the day before my flight and I explained him that my scheduled flight is for Thursday and I was supposed to pick up the car Friday then he told me to pick up the car at “flamingo plaza” in Cancun instead airport at 12:00 I was there and the person in charge told me that he didn't have my contract don’t even in the system after a few minutes dealing with that he found that my car was placed in somewhere place I paid a taxi round trip to look for it. At the spot that I pick up the car supposed to be a suburban, Tahoe or Yukon we got a journey.

Asked us for a $30k deposit for a used Grand Caravan....LOL. ClownsYa, you read that right, $30k deposit. Not in midst of arguing about something else but as part of a welcome, here is your car and this is the deposit requirement. They also require about $100 per day in local insurance. These guys are clowns. Cars looked old and beat up. Location is 4 to 6 miles away from airport, down some industrial road. Good luck trying to get a taxi to take you elsewhere. No taxis and no phone number to call for a taxi. Also, no one answers at EZ cust service. Getting trapped is an understatement. Stay away from EZ. Go with a reputable company like Enterprise, Avis, National, etc.

Had to do a $10,000 deposit for the car because I had my own insurance. That's just too much and maxed out my credit card. This is not 5 minutes from airport like advertised. Consider 15 minutes transportation from airport to pick up location. Car provided was old. Mosquitoes were eating us alive at pick up location. By the way, pick up location is very sketchy.

Open 24 x 7In Cancún the service is provided by AMERICA car rental. Coordinating the pickup was difficult, we lost about an hour waiting and arranging, the guy on the phone was a little bit rude. After we were brought to the office, we had to wait another hour because they had more customers in the line. They try to force you to take their insurance by putting a deposit of $7000 for a compact car if you want to use your own insurance. I booked a Dodge Avenger and they offered a VM Gol and I was told it was one of the newest cars: it was a lie. The car had scratches everywhere, it was dirty with stains on the roof, broken pieces, seat couldn't be adjusted and had noises while driving.

Very disappointing I wish they were more detailed about what you are getting because they said you get some car insurance with the car at time of booking but there is absolutely 0 insurance and I had to spend triple the amount that I spent on the car to pay for insurance that was 160+ Vs the 8 dollars a day that was advertised and that was stated no where for getting full coverage

The Mexico insurance I was offered was listed on my receipt as $100 for an upgrade fee. We got a new Chevy Tracker that ran out of gas half a mile from the airport. Had to leave my wife blocking traffic and walk looking for gas. Very aggravating and frightening!

Red to videotape inside and outside of the car before leaving the lot. The agent claimed that one of the four floor carpets was missing, but then she went back into their notes and saw that it was already missing. I feel that if I didn’t insist that I didn’t lose a floor mat they would have charged me. Other than this issue, the overall experience was very good.

I booked the rental car for $15 per day for 5 days and ended up paying almost $300 due to insurance. You guys advertise it like it's going to be cheap but when I got there, I had no choice but to pay it and rent it out because i had no other options. I selected this rental car company due to the fact that is stated it was at the terminal. It’s not. They still shuttle you over to another location near the airport. All that takes way more time and you have to wait in line with other people that were shuttled before you. Then the high pressure sales- everyone ended up paying double the reservation. They tell you that you have to legally get their insurance and of course it cost more then the rental. When I tried to cancel they told me since I booked through a third party they needed a had a 24 hour cancellation policy so I would loose the money in reserved with.

The gentleman at reception that handled our reservation was very unprofessional and rude. Kayak needs to better explain the extortion plan to bully customers into paying for the insurance coverage. We ended up paying double because of the insane insurance cost. Even though our credit card provides this coverage they made it impossible for us to use, and instead extorted a large fee from us. We ended waiting over 1 hour to receive our vehicle. The experience was the worst we've ever had anywhere in the WORLD! Will never use kayak or Mexrent ever again to rent a vehicle.

Two days rental for 34 US dollars, medium size car. Efficient contact with the pick up driver and staff. The Sixt base is one km from the airport but it is as it was at the airport. No waiting for the shuttle to the base.

The people were very nice. The car was clean and ran fine during our stay. The agents went over details of the billing and car condition very thoroughly. They spoke both English and Spanish. There were only 2 downsides: (1) The Kayak ad said the pickup would be at the Cancun airport but it wasn't. There was no Sixt booth at the airport either. We managed to find Sixt by asking other companies where to go...and everyone we asked kept trying to sell us their cars instead. It was quite confusing to know where the shuttle would be and to make sure it came for us. (2) The Kayak booking took me through Hotwire and it told me that I was booking a full-size sedan because that is what I filtered my search to. However, when I clicked on confirmation to secure the reservation, Hotwire changed the car to a mid-size vehicle. I did not realize I was getting a smaller vehicle until I got to the Sixt office and they had no full size vehicles for the same price. I blame Hotwire and Kayak for that issue, not Sixt.

I made the reservation and received a confirmation email. When I showed up to get the car, they told me my reservation was cancelled because it was missing the phone number, which is BS. They had no others cars to rent. I had to scramble to find a car from some company no one ever heard of, subjecting me to god knows what kind of scams.

Staff were friendly, accamodating and willing to negotiate price due to misunderstanding regarding credit card coverage of damage insurance - ended up giving us a good deal. Car was great. Overall a good value.Additional costs such as airport fee and taxes not advertized and not clear. Not sure if this is something Kayak should post or company needed to reveal. Check out insurance options and how your credit card may cover. (note they said need to put of collateral equal to value of vehicle to get credit card coverage - credit card company to re-imburse you later)

The cheat you on the exchange rateWhen I arrived, I was told I had to purchase their insurance, and that the insurance through the website was no good in Mexico. The rate for the rental car was $150.00, but with insurance and taxes it came $524.00! That's huge jump in price, but when I returned home, the total bill on my credit card was $604.00 because Firefly when they quoted me the bill, they did so at an exchange rate that was not real, it was actually more. I would not rent here ever again!

The agency that I booked through Kayak called me the morning of the reservation to say that they did not have a rental car available and that I needed to contact Priceline (who Kayak had booked through) in order to get a refund. It is now almost two months later and I am still following up with Nu Car, PriceLine, and Kayak to try get a refund for a reservation I had prepaid for when a car was not actually available. I had to re-book a reservation through a different agency because I needed car so I paid for a car twice and only got one. It is absolutely ridiculous that I've had to jump through as many hurdles as I have to get a very simple refund processed. I am very upset by this.

I do not recommend Keddy in Cancun due to a terrible experience I had in January of 2022. They refused to accept my insurance and attempted to insist I buy insurance from them at a highly inflated rate. I ended up losing my pre-payment for my rental vehicle. Overall it was a frustrating and seemingly predatory experience. If you rent from this organization, either pre-pay for insurance or ensure you have a letter that details your Credit Card Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver benefit and documentation on how it complies with the Mexican CNSF (Comisión Nacional de Seguros y Fianzas) regulations. Even with all of that, I suspect Keddy will invent some other "required" documentation that you don't have to force you to buy their inflated insurance coverage. Beware.

From the beginning to the end the renting experience was extremely disappointing. First the waiting time was excessive and the location is crowded and lacks staffing. The price that was advertised was way off from the actual price and it was impossible to lower since they forced us to pay for insurance which in the past I have been able to avoid using the coverage provided from my credit card. We have to wait about an hour and a half to get our car and nobody came to do an inspection and when we returned the car they wanted to charge us extra for gas but luckily I had taken pictures of the gas level when I first got it. I believe keddy-FOX is running things very poorly and I would recommend that if you are going to use this company it would be wise to read through their entire renting process before doing it, cause there were a lot of stressed customers at that counter myself included.

This company are thieves, straight up. The rental fee was incredibly low, but they screw you on insurance, and if you haven't been diligent in taking pictures/videos they try to screw you on the return too. I get free rental insurance through my credit card. To use this though and waive Keddy's insurance I had to put down a deposit of 9000USD. When I said yes to this, they said I also needed a signed letter from my bank in Canada confirming they would cover the full value of the car. When I couldn't produce this (as we were in Mexico at the time) they said I had to pay for their insurance. When we brought the car back, they tried to charge us for fuel and for damage. The only reason they couldn't is because we had pictures of the fuel gauge and videos of the damage from when we picked it up. Waited for over an hour to be Ickes up at Eurocar, never told Fox was the name not Kety. Get to actual rental site an there were 34 people waiting for cars with one person working. I gave up after waiting another 3 hours and walked back to Eurocar where I actually rented a vehicle. Absolutely the worst experience of my entire life and people should avoid like the plague. 2 parties were refused rental due to refusing additional insurance

It was a terrible experience they ripped us off for extra insurance and tried to charge us 100 dollars for water that dropped from a water bottle off the seat! It’s a total scam do not rent a car here it’s not worth it!

Hello, I’m writing to let you know that we had a horrible experience with the rental service in Mexico (Cancún International Airport). We have paid for the car in full, however the day we arrived to get our car, the employees of Keddy were pressuring us to purchase their car insurance for 600 USD (which was not mandatory) in addition to 8500 USD deposit to rent the car we’ve already paid for. This was not listed anywhere in the contract. We were forced to leave the place and go back to the airport to rent another car with another company. I’m writing to let you know that Keddy is scamming people. Everyone else who was with us that day trying to get their rented car, was also pressured into paying much more and supplying a deposit. Many people were furious and just like us, they had to leave and find something else. It was a horrible experience for us and we really urge to remove them from your service. They are nasty scammers. I would also suggest to look into the reviews, because we are sure those were created by robots and not real people. Thank you, Kristina
