Pros: Good new car and very clean

Cons: Long queue with only one desk open to get/return car

Cons: We were very disappointed that some crucial information is not shared with the customers. We were not informed that every kilometre has an additional fee. We were renting a car just for one day and the overall price ended up being twice as much from what was promised on the day we picked up the car.

Hertz Lisbon Pickup Wait Times are Horrible!

Pros: Helpful but overworked staff!

Cons: Car I had reserved was not available despite triple confirmation on toll free reservation lines. Had to rent two cars at 40% more!

Broken car

Pros: Second car. It was really nice, clean and worked as expected.

Cons: About 30 kilometers from Hertz office in Lisbon out Fiat 500C broke. Despite being just on the other side of Tag river we were waiting for 4 hours to have the problem solved (and car, eventually replaced). Some employees on Hertz hotline have not spoken English at all.

Cons: car did not engage reverse- we where not told it was diesel- we where overcharged from $69.00 dollar for 1 day rental in portugal to $740.00 ( we need a breakout of those charges- the rental agent was short and did not wanted to explain anything- I am telling every body not to rent with Herz ever.

Cons: It took about 2 hours to get served. The GPS was not easy to operate. And the rate was 3X what we expected. So we declined the car. Didn't tell us about the added insurance. Very disappointed.

Wouldn't rent another car from this place if my life depended on it

Cons: I'm fairly convinced this Hertz isn't a legitimate Hertz and is just stealing the logo and name. From rude attendants at the front desk, to the cars taking over an hour to be prepared, to them trying to swindle us on a _second_ insurance package, to the final price of the rental being well over double what we agreed to up front, I have never had a worse car rental experience. However, the real kicker is that they never told us what type of fuel to put in our car and had conveniently removed the car's manual from the glove box. So we asked a gas station attendant, who proceeded to fill the car with the wrong type of gasoline, and it essentially ruined the car's engine. We had to be towed (we were in the middle of nowhere and the tow truck took several hours), take a cab 30 minutes to the closest rental car company, get a new car, and in all of this wasted the last day of our trip and almost missed our flight home. And instead of being apologetic about the entire ordeal, we were treated as if it was our fault there wasn't a single marking on the car indicating what kind of gasoline it took. Of course they're also now charging us an absurd amount of money for the damages, which apparently aren't covered under the insurance policy. I'm fighting them on all of it, meaning the saga continues. But learn from my mistake and do NOT rent a car from this Hertz. Total disaster.
