Great location, walking distance to everything and a tresco right across the street. Friendly staff, very helpfu. Good wifi connection in com areas. No kitchen. Stayed for two weeks and has to either eat out or at the hostels restaurant. Not ideal when staying long period of time. Shower rooms where tiny, not much room to move. Building site outside my window, load early in the morning and late at night
Close to tube stations in central/west London. Easy access to all of central London from here. Museums close by. Very reasonably priced. Rather noisy air conditioning in room.
Hotel staff were very helpful with arranging taxis and giving bus info and directions. The food was good and food prices reasonable. Not enough internet availability. Not enough telephone availability. Not enough showers.
It has washer and dryer facilities. Friendly staff. Remind me my time when i was living in university dorm ten years ago. The bed is a bit dirty, too many tennagers making noises at night. Water from shower is too slow.
Location was great. Bathroom was very small but we knew that it was a hostel. The sheets and pillow cases were very clean but the duvets and pillows themselves could have done with replacing.
Staff displayed exceptional courtesy , were very competent and helpful when fielding requests .In this group setting I found superior levels of consideration among fellow guests.. .The buffet breakfast menu is healthy and the food was good. My family have been part of Guides & Scouting movement over the years & hope to spend a couple of vacation days here in in London in 2008.. .Most of all, the facility is safe, spotless ,very central and convenient for getting around .Good people, good work. In spite of the 'no takeouts' notices ,noticed some packing sandwiches for their lunches... This must mess up the food preparation planning , is not fair for others ,leaving much less choice for..later breakfast arrivals.
Central Room was cold. Breakfast choice poor
Cleanliness of room and other facilities. Price was excellent value for the money.
I have been coming to B-P house for nearly twenty years, and it has always been a great place to stay. The building is well maintained and the staff friendly. The decor in the bedrooms is a little old, and the room we had cramped as there was a sofa bed in there (Rm 401).
Pros: nice, helpful people at the reception; very good location; Cons: not too compfortable bed; very small shower; it was quite cold in the room in November.
excellent location room quite cold, no tea/coffee facilities in room
The place is fantastic and the staff was very kind.
Surprisingly comfortable youth hostel, helpful staff. Good value for money. Noisy bar but luckily our room was far away from it. Noise from other residents coming home late disturbing at night.
Very helpfull staff and some are even french speakers. Great breakfast organisation and good choice. Nice to have a bar in the hostel for the first night ! Having a big and comfy living room would be nice.
Friendly and clean. Breakfast included. Cosy. Nice building.Good sound-proofing. Room too small, Lockers not big enough for small suitcase.
Price Room was a bit small
Toilets and showers Luggage room is not properly secured
Location was good. Reception staff very friendly. Breakfast was a bit like organised chaos and the kitchen and accomodation staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. Also, charging £2 per towel per day was a bit ridiculous.
Annoying and dirty.
The sight from the window Insects
just location comfort in the room, dirtiness
It was very clean. It was calm, we weren't interrupt by other guests. The bathroom and toilet were always available. The Internet connection wasn't good.
Location, location, location and oh my god, the price was unbeatable. but please read on to see the justification for such a good price! I first read reviews of this hostel when I was booking it, and thought "it can't possibly be that back!" So I gave it a try. believe everything!! The reviews don't lie! What a dump! Bugs everywhere, the kitchen was filthy! The rooms had stains everywhere! And to make everything even better, the staff is absolutely incompetent! Complete Bollocks! Someone please call pest control!
Very friendly, cheerful staff and the location was quiet but not far from the buzz of the city. Great price too! We did have to wait quite a long time to check in :0(
hostel location is very good, price/performance ratio is excellent.
The Hostel was fair for the price it cost. No fancy stuff - which I didn't expect. Served the purpose!
You get what you pay for dont be to alarmed if it is not the best hotel in the world be realistic
Member of staff was pleasant and helpful The room floor had not been vaccumed this was obvious by the amount of fluff on the carpet
I liked that it was well located (less than 10 minutes walk to the Elephant & Castle tube station), St Pancras train station is 15 minutes away by tube and there are many buses around the hostel. You can also find a Spar and a Tesco Express supermarket as well as many kebabs next door if you want to grab something to eat. I stayed in a 4 beds dorm wich was clean and I had a nice view on the Shard. Toilets and shared showers were clean too. Wifi was only available in sharing areas (only reception, " bar " and tv lounge). Also, the windows in the dorm were old and made of glass that was partially shattered so you could hear the traffic as if you were sleeping in the street. It can also be quite cold so I don't recommend staying there during fall or winter. Bed's matresses aren't confortable so I wouldn't recommend staying there for too long either. When it comes to eating in, there is a bar near the reception that sells £4 pizzas, sandwiches, coffee and many other things but it is only open from 12 to 19 and during these hours there wasn't anyone working at the bar so I couldn't get anything...
This is the second time I have ever stayed in a hostel...I can say with confidence that I will definately stay here again... $20 a night?! Who could say no! Also close to Elephant and Castle tube station too!! I personally dont think it a good idea to have children (both male and female) sharing the same shower and toilet facilities as adults. I would strongly recommend having at least 1 floor dedicated to minors!
Lively place and great atmosphere. I stayed in a twin bunk ensuite and was perfect for a little more privacy. Bus stop right outside the gates Wifi only available in common room and entertainment room
Fantastic location right near Kings Cross station, excellent value, great overall look and feel, very laid back & surprisingly quiet
The common rooms were great. It was really nice to have the opportunity to meet new people, when spending time in the TV and internet-room, and in the kitchen. All of these rooms were newly renovated, and the self-catering kitchen was quite well equipped. I stayed in a 4-bed room. It was really small and there was barely room for one person to stand at one time. However, because you spend very little time in the room, it was good enough. The bed quite hard, but I slept well still. The bathrooms and showers were clean, but they were old and shabby, but hopefull they are planing to renovate them soon.
friendliness of the staff, already recommended to several others
For what I have paid,I cannot complain,I did sleep well and wake up in the morning could not complain for that The only thing I noted was when I arrived I gave my name, the receptionist told me to pay in Cash(£10) she could not take payment on the card since it was just £10,any other alternative, what if I did not have cash on
I really liked the humanity of the staff I did not like the toilets and showers were broken because
