Clean, comfortable, staff were excellent and I will stay here in future
The hotel was beautiful, the room was immaculate but most of all, the staff were just the best. They did more than was expected of them and they genuinely seemed interested in your day. It was a pleasure staying there.
Very modern and clean feeling. The best conversion from an old London town house to a hotel that I have come across. And the room size is very generous compared to many other London hotels. Very helpful reception staff. Thanks
Location. Clean & well maintained. Good size room. Friendly staff. Not keen on shower over bath and hate shower curtains. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Location, spacious room, helpful staff, reasonable price
ambience made coming back to the hotel a pleasure, lovely room upgraded for free, great staff, wonderful flowers, much more intimate town house rather than impersonal hotel. my daughter and I loved it. groundfloor room at the front a bit noisy at night even tho good soundproofing. I would ask for a room at the rear next time
We liked the location being just a few minutes walk from Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was good, clean. Good breakfast include fruit and fried English. Far too warm in breakfast room.
All great: location, staff, breakfast. Would have liked Tea/Coffee making facilities in room but that's the only quibble.
The hotel was very well located, near the Marble Arch tube station. The Sumner front desk staff were very helpful in answering my questions prior to booking, as well as in hiring a private car to the airport and printing boarding passes. Tasty breakfast! Clean modern bathroom with the best shower we experienced in our European travels.
rooms are too smalls
We were in the apartment part of the Mayflower. We had booked an efficiency room and they gave us a free upgrade to a one-bedroom, which was great! It was located very near tube station in a nice area.
Very pleasant hotel and staff
We liked the refurnished rooms, very clean and beutiful. The continental breakfast was very good and the service at the breakfast room very good! The location near Earls Court Underground is very convenient. I tryed to get in contact through e-mail in beforehand to see if I could have a large room but I didnt get any answer from the hotel. If you are easily disturbed by noice you should ask for a room on the frontside to the street, because on the backside you hear the trains coming and going. For us it was no problem, but it could be for other persons.
Staff lovely. Hotel bedrooms way too hot and back bedrooms very noisy. Windows would benefit from double glazing keeping outdoor noise down and perhaps enabling heating to be turned down
Very good location in London.Efficient reception staff . When I arrived I got the 4 W appartment - a nightmare.Smelly, messy, cold, no telephone, bad TV, dirty cups on the cupboard..etc ..Then, after complaints they changed me to a nicer one - and I was happy - nice reception staff. So whatever you do , stay away from 4W ! (Breakfast- very basic and lack of space)
second time that i overnight there, this time i got an apartment that it is quite nice even if it is in the basement. not so much to say. fair hotel, they have to do something for the breakfast room there is not space to pass true tables
The room was very small, but entirely functional. As I was on my own, it exactly met with my requirements. Quite a lot of night time traffic.
the location was suitable for my needs, the hotel staff very kind my room was too small
decent staffs and breakfast, very mordern probably refurnbished recently... a good location near the station as well... room and bathroom are quite small, quite noisy because it was near the station and close to roads
The staff was excellent -- very accomodating. The room decor was pleasing and the location was great (close to a tube station, and lots of restaurants and pubs in the immediate area). Noise from the underground trains kept us awake when we stayed in a room at the back of the hotel, but staff were happy to switch us to a room at the front of the hotel, which was much quieter.
Well situated for central London Rooms too small. Having to pay for wifi connection
the room was very clean and spacious. The let us store our bags all day after we checked out.
Convenient. Small breakfast area.
The location and friendly staff Poor TV reception and very small shower room
Lovely furnished rooms Breakfast room very small for number of rooms
great rooms and location...warning !!... the stairs to the rooms are very steep narrow and challenging..no way that older or less mobile people could stay here ...in other countries I doubt it would be legal to have stiars so difficult in a public building... the stairs
room cleaning and new towels every day, located close to Victoria station and many shops the stairs: over 40 tight narrow steps for upper floor rooms, the ceiling: you could reach it with your head if you are about 2m high, breakfast: poor and tiny breakfast room, tiny bathroom cabin, defenatly not worthing the price
It's a great location and the staff were friendly. Our room had a torn unclean carpet. The room was small for three people. We had a bloodstain on our undersheet and a badly stained matress we discovered the next day. The room had an off smell. We had booked for 3 days but left straight after the first night. We will never stay here again and I suggest you don't there are plenty of nice hotels in the area. If you want to see photos see my trip advisor post.
the bedroom is very modern, small but comfortable and clean the sitting area for breakfast is in the reception area and I found it very small
Stayed in a family suite and rooms were a good size for the area - close to Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station - within walking distance to Harrod's Shopping. Goog value for money in great upscale nieghborhood. Nothing - would stay there again and plan to return again!
Big screen TV Bedsprings were sticking out of the bed in room 207. Moved to room 209 for second night but the bed linen was dirty/had not been changed from the previous occupants (there were actually pubic hairs in th sheets). We ended up sleeping on top of the bed both nights. Carpet was badly stained. All the Reception staff are foreigners and are barely able to english - the atmosphere was not welcoming/friendly.
excellent very personal customer service in an incomparable atmosphere with super location and special concept
Excellent bedding and bathroom in a hotel that's a bit different from all the chains. Leo the manager was professional and thoughtful. Breakfast was wonderful. The location is a bit noisy at night.
cool design, great breakfast, friendly service very small room, road noise, no mirror. No hanging space beyond the one coathanger. no hair conditioner.
The hole package. Beginning with the (warm welcoming and lovely) manager over the (beautiful designed and clean) rooms and ending up with the (homemade, healthy and with love prepaired) breakfast. Our best stay ever - in a city hotel. Absolutely nothing
The fantastic customer care by Antonio (manager) and his staff and the fabulous designer atmosphere and art in the hotel.I was on a week's vacation with friends who were staying nearby and wanted to stay somewhere a bit "different" and quirky. Rough Luxe definitely fitted the bill! The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely bedlinen and there was a ready supply of handmade bath products which smelled delicious. The breakfasts are excellent and the soda bread and other produce are freshly delivered every morning. Antonio and Leo are a mine of information and delighted to advise guests on whatever they need to know, providing maps/ names of restaurants, galleries, exhibitions, routes etc. Nothing is too much trouble. I was loathe to leave! Absolutely nothing - it was exactly as described on the website. It is worth noting the building is Grade B listed and the space for hanging clothes is limited. Carry a few extra coathangers!
the quirky interiors are delightful and the staff very cool and accommodating.
Clean and nice bathroom Bathroom had no floorheat so it was too cold. Breakfast was too simple, no bacon and eggs. We were unlucky to have visitors from Poland above that made alot of noice during nighttime, and the hotel staff spent too long time to deal with it.
This hotel is more clean that a pharmacy. The staff is very polite and helpfull.Breakfast-fabulous.I had all the time a good connection for my laptop. The location is excellent; it is a safe place for a woman and I hope to stay again .
a nice pleasent nature of staff, followed by lovely clean room . recommended.
I did sightseeing. The hotel is located in an excellent place.
The location in terms of near to everything Noise due to a) Location and b) paper thin walls
clean rooms and the location There was no lift and no brown bread for breakfast
Hotel very clean, good position Room very small.
The price was very competitive for the area. Freindly enougth, and the premises was quiet. Free internet was also a plus. UNcomfortable bed. The room was fairly small, not enougth to put myself off but for a couple I tihnk it would be too small.
We stayed only one day, it is very close to the center and it was relatively cheap. We could here people from upstairs.
convenience of area lack of parking for guests also expected a double bed and a single
The location is fantastic - indeed just a minute from the tube and major bus routes, near the M1. Plenty of coffee shops and cafes nearby. The breakfast room was bright and smart. We were able to park our car at the guest house. The TV was modern and worked fine. The price was competitive. Our room had some peeling wallpaper, a bathroom with no heater, a tiny shower. The breakfast was superficially good, but actually narrow in choice and not high in quality. Why, when near the best bagel shops in London, were not fresh bagels available for breakfast? The staff service at reception was polite but impersonal and not professional. Our room on the ground floor was near the breakfast room so we were awoken early by clinking cups, etc. The hotel rating on was 7.6 which is why I booked it. From my experience of it, I fail to understand why it is so highly rated; I was very disappointed.
The location is good. It's near the underground and out of the busy London The room is cold
Great hotel and staff very accomodating. Nice room and put on the ground floor so we didnt have to lug our suitcases upstairs.
we like the room and that the room was clean. the breakfast was nice and the staff was really nice.
Friendly and central
Great staff!!! I told the receptionist that I was leaving very early in the morning and during my absence for dinner they put a full breakfast for me in my room for early the next morning. That is service!!!!!
Room and equipment are nice.
Location (one block from the Golders Green tube station on the Northern line) Dreadful bed (lumpy, hard twin). Maid did not change sheets without being told to do so. (At $112 a night, this should be automatic regardless of whether or not the Anchor is a "tourist" hotel.) There were no soda machines or ice machines. Room was approximately 60 square feet plus the shower-bath.
It was quiet. We had control of heating in room. Friendly staff. No shower, shared bathroom a bit cold.
