convenient location, freindly staff my room was not clean and extremely hot
Gym ok Poor heating - room heater on timer that didn't come on in evening and v cold. Rooms and décor very tired Room v basic and functional.
This is my 3rd week at the hotel and it is very busy ,very conveniet to motorway and work. The new wing of thehotel is nice and I have had 2 very positive stays. This weekwas a relative nightmare with very basic and tired looking room. Reception staff quite lazy this week so no recognition of regular clientelle or help with getting cheaper options for wifi/breakfast so ended up getting worse service and very inferior rooms. There are other hotels nearby which offer better quality so I would suggest the hotel looks at better rates for repeat customers. I have had sixof my team staying at the hotel We dont get group rates or any special discounts. No sign of investment being made in the bar area . Very basis restaurant menu. Not suitable for people like me with restricted dietary needs (halal). I have had to call for deliveries from outside suppliers.
Convenient location for Liverpool,Manchester,Chester and touring the area, good local pubs nearby especially Ring O Bells. Good leisure facilities. Evening meal in restaurent was poor.
Very good service No walk-in shower
Staff were friendly and helpful and the place was clean and tidy although the room was warm and i was pleased i stayed on a cold autumn night and not a hot summer one.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff (in particular the housekeeper). Good breakfast selection. Generally well run Toilet flush inadequate. Windows difficult to close (it was open when we arrived and I had to go outside to close it (room 165)) jacuzzi and poolside shower not operational on the Sunday
The Staff at the Leisure Club were very helpful. The Hotel room we were given had some serious problems with the radiator pipes which resulted in noisy vibrations which were so loud it was impossible to sleep in the room. We were allocated a new room however customer service was found to be lacking as no one would answer the phone at reception and when we went down in person we were just given another key with no offer of an apology, assistance in moving rooms or a refund.
Close to Daresbury Labs - anonymous Poor service in the bar. Very mediocre Caesar salad, white wine not sufficiently chilled. Cold fried eggs at breakfast - bacon etc all a bit greasy.
2 out of 3reception staff very helpful. Kitchen staff for breakfast very good. Leisure club reception very good. No special rates for groups . I have a team of 12 people working on the door step of this hotel and we are all getting different rates. Some are getting £49 per night including breakfast others are paying £67. Those with the higher rates and tired bedrooms have moved out to the premier inn which has better parking and restaurant.
the location was excellant. the quite luxury of the lounges . Food was very good and service from waitresses was first class.A very enjoyable stay. some more local information ie.history etc of the hotel and abbey as reading matter in the public rooms.
Excellent ambience, staff, real value for money as this was less than I have paid for a hotel room in years! None though the barman could have been a bit more friendly
Quality of bar food and breakfast was excellent. Sharp rebuke from breakfast waitress when I enquired gently about delay in taking my breakfast order. The other waitress then apologised for the delay. Firdt waitress needs training in responses to guests.
I'd like the english breakfast menu
All staff very friendly
excellent location and environment. great hand made cooked breakfast. confortable experience
Pleasant staff and good faclities bar etc. Due to noise from outside of my room (unable to sleep)it was necessary to be moved to an alternative room. This was done without delay. Price of beer?
The high level of service. Standard of room (White Lady Suite).
Breakfast was great and staff were nice/helpful. The shower was rubbish in terms of the head of pressure.
friendliness, good service, clean rooms and easy parking, quietness - nice location at the contryside - near motorway junction in summertime - outdoor relaxing can be disturbed by some light noise from nearby motorway
Pleasant hotel and surroundings, good breakfasts. Check in marred by apparently disinterested male staff member who neglected to record newspaper request he'd elicited, and was not helpful re alternative dinner arrangements that were necessary.
the food was nice and the whole of the room the staff werent very friendly or approchable, or offer us more drinks
It was noisy. Noise in the pipes and noise from disco downstairs, we were on the lst floor at the back
the room design, cleanliness staff can be more friendly
Lack of info about their facilities. The hotel room didn't have any info saying what time breakfast was served or what time checkout was. This would have been useful. They also have a good gym and pool apparently but I couldn't find any info about it in the room.
The staff were very helpful, food great, lots to do and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Quick check-in, good location close to town, good facilities Parking limited, limited Sky channels
The hotel was smart and the rooms modern. Staff were generally helpful and the overall feel of the place was friendly. In the morning there was difficulty accommodating everyone for breakfast and we had to wait over 20 minutes to be shown to a table - I was told that this is a regular occurrence so beware if you've got an appointment to keep at a weekend! (Also, bizarrely, the invoice online and the printed copy said the cost was £59 but my card bill showed £61...couldn't quite work this one out!)
It was convenient for our visit to family and an event in the town. Bedside tables are impractical. The poor design made it quite dangerous to stand hot drinks on.
Excellent hotel , very modern and in a great location . Can be a little noisy at night time but dont let that put you off
Location to station Being charged to use credit card, Cold foo both at breakfast and dinner Broken fittings in room particularly bathroom
Excellent caring staff Tired hotel, dirty rooms, fascilities broken
we have stayed at Lymm on numerous occassions mainly as a place to stay when we go to Old Trafford for the football, we have recommended the hotel to many friends.
Staff outstanding friendly and polite from bar man to breakfast to lovely blonde at desk ! really well done does make a difference.. thought I was in us ! Room in anex bit drab.. pillows horrid too stiff hard.. telephone dirty mouthpiece whole thing manky remote for telly barely worked , low bataries or faulty.. shower no power.. prob could do with stronger hover back of beds etc..
I do not like to be conned. When I book a double room I do not want to sleep in a 4foot bed. A standard double bed is 4ft 6inches. I will be taking this further. Its a disgrace. No general manager or assiatnt manager to discuss with. How can you work with this hotel?
Dinner and Breakfast were excellent. Bedrooms were cramped and a walk in the rain and up and down steep stairs.
Good quality hotel close to Manchester and Warrington. Breakfast was included in my rate and was excellent. The room I was allocated, although clean, was in need of decoration.
Went to see Genesis at Old Trafford.
Near to where I needed to be Quite cold room on arrival - the heating had not been on in that particular part of the annex. Later rectified.
everything, we could not find a fault
The reception staff were excellent- very friendly, helpful and welcoming - the room was comfortable and clean but a little 'tired' - chipped bath and cracked tiles. The bar was pricey - £10 for a large glass of wine! The restaurant food was generally good - the ribeye steaks were excellently cooked. The rate for the hotel was approx £65 for two person and inc breakfast - i think that this was an ok price. There was nothing really that I didn't like. The hotel was booked for us to attend a function taking place at the hotel so it was convenient, and in a semi rural position. I had reservation about booking the hotel based on reviews that i had read. I informed the hotel about my fears prior to my arrival and had no problems during the stay.
location good very clean no
The comfort and efficiency of staff to respond to queries and they all seemed very cheery. Nothing
Clean In an industrial estate
Comfortable, clean, friendly and helpful staff, excellent value None
The easy and straightforward breakfast-time with plenty of papers and selection of foods. The hotel had a party booking the same night as I stayed there. Having driven for some time prior to arrival I was tired and looking forward to a restful night but was kept awake past 1.30 in the morning by the loud music (and I was on the 3rd floor.) Also, the evening meals provided were by room service-only because (in the words of the receptionist) the restaurant wasn't available. Hence, this is why I rated the comfort level during my stay as 'poor'.
Friendly staff and nice lounge. Very clean. Within a short taxi drive of bars and restaurants and twenty minutes from Manchester by train. Would happily recommend.
the colour scheme of the room and the bathroom beds could of had better pillows and more tv channels on the tv
Very nice, clean hotel. Easy to find. Arrived after midnight and staff were still friendly.
its closeness to major motorways the lack of facilities , i.e pool , spa , gym , its seems to be more aimed at the business person rather than the more relaxing stay for couples , I was there with my girlfriend from Scotland and felt that it wasnt the romantic place i thought it was going to be , so on that point alone i would say that were are fairly disapointed with our stay there .
The hotel could do a lot more to cater for guests who smoke. They should also ensure that all the advertised facilities are available and alert guests on arrival if there are issues around the provision of certain services.
Gym Room was hot when I arrived
Good service in the lounch. God service in the reception. The room was tidy. The chairs in the restaurans was dirty. The carpets in the hallway falling off. The breakfast was not redy at 6.30 and we where in a hurry.
all fine except rooms dreadfully hot
convienance Food was pricey
Modern, friendly, quiet rooms Internet access. Far too expensive in this modern world
I found the hotel spacious, comfortable, clean and the staff professional and friendly. Food was to a good standard. Plenty of car parking spaces close to the hotel, which makes life easier.
Staff were amenable to changing my room 3 times. First two rooms offered very dark and then very noisy next to air con unit. room 3 lovely. Breakfast ok but would prefer free range egg!
The location. Close to motorway but with a peacefull environment. Long wait for dinner but we had not reserved a table in the restaurant. With hind site we would have opted for a bar meal. Would this have quicker service?
comfortable bedroom. Was offered 2 hours free wi-fi, which was a reason for choosing the hotel. But it wasn't working.
the cottage was amazing. Totally unique experience, will definitely come back and will tell friends about it. Clean and warm with lots of interesting thingsto look at .
It was absolutely chocolate box meets, four weddings and a funeral and the sumptuous luxury of the mini break in bridget jones' diary. The proximity to London Roads vibrant and cosmopolitan night life more than makes up for any absent room service.
Spotless, more than one room, fresh flowers, comfortable bed, good tv Not a hotel but self catering rooms ina not a hotel but self catering accommodation in a pprivate house,no staff,no breakfast served, strong unpleasant smell, clutter, needs extra bedside table, poor parking facilities
The main thing about staying here is it is "different". It feels special and is a treat versus the usual nice hotel! Not really, although it has to be said that the rooms are quite small and cottage-like. The photographs give the impression of a much more spacious layout.
The uniqueness of the property and excellent service were both a refreshing change and a great experience.
everything was absolutly amazing and we wil definately be going back at some point. We wish we could live there permamently. Thank you very much!!
Lovely property - great if you are looking for something a bit different to a hotel. Fabulous location and very relaxing - highly recommended
a wonderful hideaway in Alderley Edge, but within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping in the surrounding area. The suite was simply beautiful and the owner (Ian) could not have been more helpful Will be booking again.
Had a wonderful time at Wizard's Thatch. The suite was charming. Will stay longer next time.
The service was very good and an excellent buffet breakfast was available. The location was also very convenient. It would have been better if there was a private hotel for customers as we had to park in the supermarket car park and there did seem to be a problem with gangs in the vacinity of the hotel. I think this was because it was a Friday night. We have previously visited on a sunday and it was very quiet.
Great location and excellent value for money. Really nice breakfast and nice touch with the complimentary bottle of wine. Overall making for a very positive experience. Room was not as clean as it might be. Not a problem that the amenities were only basic, but carpet and beds looked like well overdue for replacement.
Availability at a time of high demand and proximity to airport The room was in the middle of being re-decorated, smelled of paint, window was open to try and clear fumes and room had been pressed back into service to take advantage of high demand
The location. having a beer outside in the sunshine during Happy Hour. Would benefit from revamped bathroom. Better information passing to night staff.(request for early breakfast was not relayed) This happenened during our last stay also.
My original room was dirty, overheated with stained marked furniture, but the v.v.hot pipes made it impossible to sit, never mind sleep in. The receptionist on duty was v.helpful and managed to get me another room, still hot, but because it had more air coming in I could sleep. The heat from the pipes running through the room was at a dangerous level. I would not have taken a child into those rooms. I had to sleep with only the duvet cover, no duvet. This wasn't during a spell of hot weather!
Quiet rooms with comfortable beds The local car park details in the hotel were out of date and dispite their bochure saying every room had a trouser press I could not find one in room 116
friendly helpful receptionist Lift had been broken for a week and still not repaired - we were on the 3rd floor - fortunately we were only staying one night as we were in Hale for a wedding. There was no parking on site. Street parking was payable from 8.00am.
good breakfast hotel décor faded.Noisy lift which looks like a factory lift inside. No soap or extras in bathroom just two towels for the two of us.
The facilities were poor, needs updating Decor and poor quality food, ate out
good allround, simple rooms, everything worked and was clean + near the rail station. one staff member was very irritated when i asked for a receipt after paying cash for an extra night and no internet access afterall, (although local library was geat for that!)
Excellent location. Ample Parking. friendly and helpful staff. My single bed had Ensuite. Had tea making capability. Breakfast was not even an additional option. But to be fair there were places around.
Ladies very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fan-tas-tic. Accommodation delightful..
Rooms where really nice, staff vey helpful. No aircon
Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment - inside and out.
Good parking, nice room, helpful staff, good location close to motorway, quiet Room was too hot for me but just kept our windows open
The food in the restaurant was of a pretty good standard and the breakfast had a good selection. The room was of a poor quality and looked extremely tired with stains on the carpets. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and gave me backache. There was peeling wallpaper in the public areas and a bucket in the hall way collecting dripping water. This does not warrant 3 stars.
relaxed atmosphere The hotel & facilities are getting tired - worn carpets, shabby gymn, etc.
Convenient location in need of a makeover
Good and pleasant location over the last 20 years have stayed at the Belfry many times but not so many recently as I did not need a room in a hotel in the area I was in room 411 which is a good room - but to get to it the lift one uses is an antique - if one does not properly shut the inner gate, then it works for no one. The stripy black & white carpet on the 4th floor is not pleasant to look at. The passageway from reception to the lift is unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere. It is narrow and one winds around quite a bit.
Very friendly staff Old fashioned rooms, small bathrooms
When i payed my bill i was overcharged the lady in the reception was unable to give me a refund .I had to go to see the reception the next day for my refund .Staff need training on how to deal with customers problems
1 night was not long enough to say
Rooms were nice and in the evenings we more or less had the pool, jacuzzi and saunas to ourselves Queues at the reception which, with only one person there, you couldn't avoid even if it was just to get a second room key.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts very good, very friendly cook. Only area of negative comment, a barman in the public house seemed to be unable to raise a smile, appeared pretty unhappy in his job.
Pleasant quiet room A little slow booking in as receptionist had gone elsewhere
Very clean and comfortable room, plenty of tea and coffee available. Music a bit loud in pub next door.
Good value for money. Pub menu varied and food of good quality, so we were happy to eat on site.
Good English breakfast, well equipped and spacious room. Member of staff being dismissed at breakfast, poor continental breakfast.
Quiet, comfortable & clean room. Separate from bar. Delicious bar food! Very helpful staff.
The most reeming factor of this hotel is the location. It is sufficiently close to Manchester airport wthout all the hustle & bustle. Accomodation was not very warm until the thermostat was located behind a chair. The restaurant was cold and the breakfast was not very inspiring. The evening meal was a disastor resulting in eating in the local balti house, which incidently was excellent.
the proximty to where i wanted to be & the great value for money
Cleanliness, friendly, efficient service, excellent breakfast
Paid £53, expected like other Premier inn! 2 people stayed in single room with double bed which moved towards wall. No place for vanity, dampness and black colour on ceiling in the bathroom. Tall mirror was hiding.
Cleanliness, Friendly Staff and Location Stayed in 'old' wing. Poor lighting made it impossible to use hairdryer. Room 29 toilet awkward to use due to positioning.
Good hospitality. Lack of family room for three people.
Staff very friendly and helpful, bar area dog friendly Hotel under refurbishment, workers started very early.
Excellent location, Duty Manager Lee very helpful & Breakfast staff delightful with delicious hot cooked breakfast. Sadly the extractor fan in the rooom next door was on all night resulting in no sleep and the fan in our room also really loud
The breakfast was good and the staff very pleasant. The bed was not very good at all.
Friendly staff None
Good location one night stay over good comfy bed clean bathroom etc
Excellent choice of Breakfast and the close proximity to restaurants and bars etc. Free parking. Freezing cold room - we had to get an engineer to fix radiator and the bathroom was shabby and old fashioned.
Very convenient to wilmslow, knutsford and mobberley, we were there my No, loved it, However there wer people like us having to come downstairs in our pyjamas for a cigarrette
Wilmslow Lodge itself was fine When we arrived the Lodge had no record of our internet booking. The guy on the desk was extremely helpful and although fully booked mananged to juggle the rooms to accommodate us. To say this was poor service from your administration is being polite. We had travelled up from Romsey Hampshire and my husband was considering having to return after attending our function. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened and I would be grateful for your comments
Pleasant and simple interior design in rooms. Good facilities. Nice family-friendly inn with nice atmosphere. some staff serving at the inn not that friendly.
Spacious, well furnished room and large comfortable bed - friendly staff in hotel and attached pub. None
Good location. Lodge is clean and well appointed. Staff were very friendlyand helpful. Did not eat in restaurant but it looked very inviting.
Bed was very comfortable Even when all the lights were on because of the light shades the room was still quite dark for reading lots of business documents
Excellent beer, nice atmospheric pub. Friendly staff. It problems with checking in system - staff handled it well though. Air con set to 28degC!
Allowed us our request of 12 noon check out None
Pub Coach and Four was great, room was clean and confortable, I felt at ease with nothing that really bothered me at this price At this price nothing stood out to complain about.
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my stay here at all. Yes, loud music during the early hours and early morning and constant noise from housekeeping which was very unsettling and caused differences betwwen my partner and myself....night was ruined
smooth easy transactions
Quick check-in, polite staff. Room was clean & tidy. Drinks & food too expensive
The standard of the room was below that anticipated and did not warrant the price of £99.00 peer night. The hotel acknowledged this and reduced it to £75 which was still too much given the room.
Staff were very helpful, late checkout fot club members, clean, comfortable and quiet. rooms wers spacious and well equipped Food and drink were expensive as was internet usage
Staff very friendly and attentive, food good quality. None
the only thing i would say that was good about this hotel was the price we paid, £39. The hotel room was cold, there was no mirrors in the mirror frames, we could hear every car that went past on the very near M6, the bed and pillows were hard and the room just didnt feel as though it had been cleaned, this could be to do with it being christmas day to be fair. if we had paid the full ammount of about £60 for the room then i would have been very unhappy.
i liked the luxury i had a relaxing stay would stay again the only thing was i wanted to stay longer there was nothing i didn,t like
ideal location very close to M6 great for breaking journey
