Pros: Gorgeous hotel. Loved the restaurant area upstairs - shame we couldn't use it. The staff were friendly (and apologetic in our case). We had a refund on the breakfasts that we'd prepaid for straight away. Great location in the Northern Quarter. Would definitely give it another try.

Cons: When we got to breakfast (pre paid) we were told there was maintenance work going on so we couldn't have any! The girl behind the bar apologised and made us a cup of tea. Then, on my way to use the toilet I was informed that the toilets would be out of order for at least an hour. All the toilets in the whole building! Rooms very small but adequate - how long are you realistically gonna be in there?

Cons: The facilities were lacking, you have to pick up iron and ironing board from reception yourself. They should be brought up to you, especially in an executive room. The room/hotel layout is very confusing.

Cons: Bathroom sink was blocked. The hotel (along with all others in the area) massively inflated its prices just because there was a Muse concert on. In my view this is appalling practice and doesn't encourage brand loyalty on my part.

Cons: Breakfast was horrible, absolutely below standard.. There was almost none of healthy food available.. No cheese, ham, vegetables, porridge, berries..
Rooms were ok but there was no minibar, no storage facilities to clothes and bed was really soft which for us was not the preference -> Difficult to sleep long time since lower back was hurting after few hours..

Pros: I have not previously had good experiences with Britannia Group hotels - they are generally rather run-down, in need of updating. I didnt't realize this was one of theirs until I got there, but it exceeded my expectations and was good value for money, comfortable twin beds and two easy chairs in a good size room. The bathroom was good with an easily adjustable shower. The room overlooked a quiet street - on a Tuesday, anyway.

Pros: THE LOCATION
Cons: THE BREAKFAST WAS TOO POOR . NO CHEECE , NO CROISANT,NO HAM ........ WIFI OPERATES ONLY IN FRONT OF THE RECEPTION (NOT AT ALL TIMES, TOO DIFICULT TO CONNECT EVEN IF THE SIGNAL IT SEEMS GOOD )

Pros: I have not previously had good experiences with Britannia Group hotels - they are generally rather run-down, in need of updating. I didnt't realize this was one of theirs until I got there, but it exceeded my expectations and was good value for money, comfortable twin beds and two easy chairs in a good size room. The bathroom was good with an easily adjustable shower. The room overlooked a quiet street - on a Tuesday, anyway.
Cons: Nothing, for the money. Perfectly adequate.

Cons: There was no AC in the room and window. I talked to the front desk and they said we canot change the room. Also U talked to the Manager on duty and she said if you dont like it you can check out and find other place. I checked in tbe same day.

Pros: VALUE FOR MONEY AND IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING, SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND ALL YOU NEED. I WILL DEFINATLY STAY AGAIN.
Cons: THE STAIRS FROM THE MAIN DOOR TO THE RECEPTION.

Cons: I took the room with shower, but the water wasn’t hot enough. How can we bath in such a cold weather with cold water. At last we still need to go to the public bathroom, with hot water but the water pressure is too low

Pros: The staff were excellent, everybody working at the hotel were very accommodating. Bedding clean and comfortable. Location was good for Manchester centre and surrounding area’s.
Cons: We stayed 3 nights. Our room bordered the rear of Morrison’s and The Travel Lodge, so we had delivery noise very early every morning. Also early noise from the dray delivering to the pub below. The alleyway also attracted many homeless sleepers who were hellbent on arguing well into the early hours. What sleep we did have was very welcome. Nowhere to hang clothes and no control over heating times. Double glazing would be a massive benefit.

Pros: Good location, clean room.
Cons: Before leaving Manchester, I had things to do, so I wanted to leave my case. When I checked in, I had been told I could. But when I checked out, I was told I couldn't. So I had to take my heavy case all over Manchester. Not good. Although the room was clean, no windows in the hotel have been cleaned literally for years.

Pros: Hi! I booked/paid all good. But when i arrived middle of night they didnt let me in as i didnt have ID. Ok I slept somewhere. When I contacted them and asked for refund few times...no answer. Nice people been nthere before and would like to go again...but no answer for anything. I know it says that bring your ID but it didnt say you dont get refund without it?

Pros: Dorm itself absolutely fine and what I would expect from budget hostel accommodation. Also great that you can check in late. I did so after a late conference. The dorms were single sex and the woman on reception reiterated that that was what I had booked and clearly explained where the female only facilities were. Unprompted and greatly appreciated. I value budget accommodation available due to shared facilities with a single sex option enormously.

Pros: The high points were location and the included breakfast (probably the best free breakfast I've ever had at a hostel in the UK). The hostel is located right in the trendy Northern Quarter and is quite close to Manchester Picadilly. Great for solo travel and for young people looking to explore the hipster paradise of Northern Manchester.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. To be fair you get what you pay for and it was a warm place to sleep.

Cons: Shared bathroom facilities poor with overflowing and blocked toilets and just a general mess. As I was only staying one night after a late conference and heading straight home in the morning I actually opted not to shower. I would expect given the late night usage of facilities an early morning clean for people waking up to use them! Breakfast was near on non existent. Instant coffee - fine, it’s budget, it’s a hostel. But in terms of food, a toaster and a packet of sliced bread just on the side was a bit disappointing. I’d rather have not had breakfast included and made other plans than expecting breakfast and getting next to nothing.

Cons: The facilities left a lot to be desired. Ancient bathroom facilities, heinous showers that only let out cold water in short spurts, and thin mattresses through which the wire of the bed pokes maliciously.

Cons: The bathrooms could be a lot cleaner. All the empty lockers were broken. The bed was just clean enough. Breakfast was just bread, butter, rice Krispies and milk.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. To be fair you get what you pay for and it was a warm place to sleep.
Cons: Everything kind of looked dirty. The bathrooms were actually filthy and the showers barely worked. The beds were placed very inconveniently and there was only one semi accessible power outlet In the room for 10 people. Also there was no curtains or anything so privacy was minimal.
There were no Male bathrooms on my floor so if i wanted a toilet or a shower I had to go up or down a floor. Half of the power outlets in the public room didn't work which wasn't ideal.
Just generally it wasn't a particularly nice place to stay, but it was cheap so.
