Pros: 5 adults, 1 child.
Even though the hotel was about 40 yrs old, it was wonderful to stay here. The staff was nice and professional. Rooms were very comfortable. The amenities were great. The ambience was great, made me feel welcomed. They even added extra bed to a 2-bed deluxe room for us... I don't remember asking for one. Thank you Peninsula.
Cons: Shower area in the bathroom made me feel cramp and enclosed.
Pros: Hotel lobby and restaurant interior is impeccable. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive to my needs.
Cons: Location is not quite convenient for shopping. Hotel is located across the shopping centers, but crossing the busy streets of Manila. is not for the faint of heart. I ended up writing a cab. The taxi drivers were fine with the short distance.
Pros: 1. Location in bustling Makati
2. Festive and Grand Lobby
3. Breakfast Buffet was top notch
4. Responsive and Pleasent Service
Cons: 1. Room was old, small and not super comfortable
2. Weak Wi-fi in rooms
3. Expensive room service, restaurants and laundry options
Pros: The Peninsula is the best hotel in Manilia as far as I'm concerned
Pros: The lobby is very nice. Nice room and room service, it's up to a 5 star standard.
Cons: Why the staff cannot get me a taxi when I need to go to airport ? Asked me to use Uber and which I did. However, I am from United States and Philippines not accepting my form of payment and not able to request one. The staff suggest we just stand there and wait until a taxi come by.. end up I followed up myself after 20 minutes of wait; going back to concierge and ask them to grab me a local Uber... waited for another 20 minutes to catch one...cannot believed peninsula is so behind at this area !!
Pros: The staff address you by name and give very personal attention. Hotel is gorgeous and well located.
Pros: wonderful classic luxury hotel but with a cut above in professionalism and warmth of staff. lovely! highly recommended--
Pros: Breakfast was lovely. The variety of food available was good for all meals. The gym is excellent. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice and there was a nightlight, a nice touch all too often neglected. It's a very nice hotel and I would go back! But....
Cons: WIFI access ends the moment you check out. Immediately. Which means that even if you check out at 9am and could have checked out at noon, no wifi for you as of 9am. Hopefully you don't have to call a cab or write a memo. Perhaps you were thinking of a leisurely breakfast in the lobby after checking out while reading the paper online. Nope. In 2015, when you pretty much assume that internet access is available for a reasonable amount of time, that's a pretty strong negative.
The staff was far too eager to serve and frankly, a bit overbearing. The first day, I had two members of staff burst into my room while I was in the bathroom (pretty bad luck, I suppose), one without knocking, the other with just a cursory knock and a half second wait. I learned to lock and chain the door and put on the DND light right away. Once I forgot the DND light but locked the door... Ooops! So while I was taking a nap, I got someone knocking at the door for 2 minutes till I got up so they could give me bottles of water. Eating in one of the restaurants requires that you keep a tight grip on your plate or glass if you are having a leisurely meal... a waiter is likely to swoop down and take it away before you can say a word, if they feel you are done, whether at breakfast, lunch, or dinner. While eating, one waiter after another will come over to ensue that you are enjoying your meal, interrupting a quiet evening, over and over again. The service has good intentions, but really needs to back off a bit.
Pros: Lobby, orchestra and staff.

Guests can splash around at the outdoor pool or grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. A health club and a children's pool are offered, and apartments have conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: The staff was amazing. The service here was better than the hotels I have at home. Everyone was smiling and willing to help. I will Be coming back
Cons: The only thing I didn't like were the escorts prancing around the hotel. But I understand that this is where the wealthiest stay and money talks. It was not a nice sight to see.

This Makati hotel also provides minibars and coffeemakers in all rooms. Bathrooms at the Makati Shangri-la feature Aigner toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, and hair dryers.
Pros: From the moment you enter, you are transported to another time. There's an unhurried air around the place. Lovely garden, historic home as the centerpiece.
Staff is exceptionally well trained and will do their absolute best to accommodate your request. Popcorn at 9pm to munch while watching a movie? You bet.
If you want to get out for shows, shopping or sight seeing, you are very near Mall of Asia and Intramuros.
Cons: The website is very clear on the square footage of each class of room and because it is a historic home that has been converted, I expected the room to be on the small side.
However, when I stay again, I'll ask to have a look at the available rooms before I take my key.
My room was quite small and that was fine since I was alone. If I had been with a companion, it would have been too small.
Pros: Great hotel! Located in a compound so you feel very safe and you don't hear the traffic from the street. Nicely renovated with a modern look. Apparently, this was owned by a wealthy chinese family back in the day and they renovated for hotel use. Very nice architecture. Also very close to Mall of Asia and surrounding casinos and restaurants in the Pasay neighborhood.
Cons: Only one entrance to all the rooms from the main area. 4 houses situated in tandem and our room was located in the 3rd house. Since there was only one entrance, the walk to the main gate of the compound made it twice as far. I only stayed a night, so it wasn't terribly inconvenient, but if I was staying a few days or weeks, it would probably get old quick.
The Henry Manila was conceived to provide its guests an entirely unique experience. A delightful surprise in a highly urbanized and hectic Metro Manila, it fuses the elegance and graciousness of mid-20th century living with modern amenities for the comfort of its guests.
Pros: We stayed 3 different times within 3 weeks in this hotel (we went out of town twice between stays). First of all, the service is impecabble. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The location next to 2 huge malls means the availability of many restaurants and retail shops and services. Being a fairly new hotel, the interiors are very nice and clean, yet it feels homey. I totally felt comfortable here and would go back and highly recommend this hotel to others.
Pros: Rooms are great, we love the great big windows giving us a great view of the city and the pool.
Pros: Great service
Excellent breakfast buffet
Nice atmosphere at Long Bar.
Cons: 2700 php for car to airport?
Must be a compromise between this and a local taxi at 200 php.

Pros: The hotel was nice and everything was practical, very business like. Much more my style than the Mandarin Oriental.
Pros: This is the best hotel in the area if price and location are your priorities. It is built next to the new part of Glorietta.
Cons: Elevators are slower than comparable hotel elevators in the area.

Guests indulge in massages, then grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. An indoor pool and a bar/lounge are other highlights, and rooms at this luxurious hotel feature soaking tubs and kitchens.
Cons: Like most hotels in Manila Area , they are starting to charge a premium like they are New York or Paris ect! It's still the Philippines but poeple are coming and paying these prices so I really can't blame them! I just don't see it, coming here the last 15yrs! the traffic is impossible, so plan on walking!

An outdoor pool and a 24-hour fitness center are other highlights, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer up nice touches like deep soaking tubs and pillow menus.
Pros: Everything is fine it's just it is still under construction which is understandable.
Cons: Just how the shower head was not mounted properly. It's too stiff and hight which will spill out the door.
Aruga by Rockwell Hotel offers an airport shuttle (available on request) and puts you within a 15-minute drive of SM Mall of Asia and Ayala Center. After having fun at the outdoor pool, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. Pros: Staff was very friendly. Rooms are nice and clean. My stay was very comfortable.
Pros: The location. The non managerial staff were very courteous and helpful.
Cons: The. Reservations made was not I wanted, I wanted two beds. They gave me a? Queen bed and a trundle bed
Pros: Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. If you're lucky, you get a room with a nice view of the bay like we did. Also, nice pool area and gym. The breakfast was wonderful! Diverse international food to satisfy all cravings. The view from the dining room was great. There's even a garden area should you prefer to dine al fresco. Convenient location. Relatively close to the airport and to many tourist sites. Only a block away from Robinsons mall.
Cons: Although the immediate area around the hotel seemed pretty safe, a little further afield and you get to see the nitty gritty of Manila. I still felt safe, but you have to be smart.
Pros: Hotel staff were very courteous, responsive and helpful, no hidden fees all upfront, amenities are excellent and location is very convenient. Breakfast was always sumptuous and lounge has breathtaking views. Simply a welcome retreat after office hours with really beautiful views of the city. Beds were always well prepared. Hotel offered free parking for one car (not valet). Room came with free papers daily.
Cons: Hotel's location is also in the red light district with lots of beggars and street urchins, street is a main thoroughfare and can be at times difficult for those who drive. Hotel is a bit old with carpets needing a complete overhaul or detailed steaming, beware of short shorts in the lounge; they will turned you away if you're Filipino. Hate to say it but feels like a bit of a whorehouse at times with local girls swarming a bit older foreign male. I could be wrong of course but you be the judge.
Pros: Awesome customer service!
Cons: Rooms were cold, no heaters

Cons: I was checked in to a room with multiple problems namely: lighting was not working, AC was not working, the bathroom and the room itself have foul stench, carpet was dirty and the balcony has not been swept for a while.
I had to call at least 7x to speak with the manager and wait 3 hours to be moved to a new room. When I asked if I was given a deluxe room the response I received was more infuriating, it was a blunt NO. I was given a standard room and my deluxe room was given to someone else. When the manager realized that she could not convince me to stay in a dirty room she finally decided to change my room.
I am a frequent stayer since 2013 but due to this unforgettable experience I will not be coming back.
Cons: for some reason, the bathroom shower was not designed to stop the water from spilling out. hard to keep the floor dry.
Pros: The service at the 10th floor.
Cons: They did not keep the standard of the food service the same in their buffet . I would rate them at most a 3.5
Also when I was upgraded my room they told me and gave me a sheet of paper telling me I can stay until 4pm. Next day ,but they reneged and extended my stay until 1 pm.
Pros: Sunset at Manila Bay is awesome, you don't need to get out of the place to experience. Staff very friendly and attentive. Will stay again.
Pros: classy hotel
beautiful sunsets and view
lots of service people around
lots of security
110 and 220v power outlets in room
food samples brought to the pool at certain times
complimentary bottled water
lounge chairs have cushions
Cons: common space air conditioning is very cold, had to leave the sports bar because it was so cold (wearing jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt)
buffet is ridiculously overpriced for the quality $65 USD per person dinner Thursdays
sports bar is overpriced $35 USD for 2 hot chocolates, a small crappy pizza, and mozza sticks
mozza sticks were not breaded but wrapped in spring roll wrappers and greasy
pizza ordered was not good and the order was wrong
sports bar took 10 mins to order and 30 mins to make pizza and mozza sticks
does not allow outside food to be delivered to the hotel
pool is freezing cold
water slides were under maintenance
reception does not respond to email entirely, whenever I emailed them before arriving they would respond to part of the email but I would have to email again to get a response for the rest
cannot control balcony light
no chairs on balcony
shower cold water would cut out every few minutes so the water was scalding hot
flowers on balcony not watered, dying
mold in shower grout needs to be scrubbed/bleached
bathrooms are too dark, need a lighted mirror
Pros: The tennis court, the pool, newer building, everything seemd to work well. Live band at night.
Cons: You cant walk into metro manila like at other hotels, this can be good or bad depending on what you want to do. This is a non factor i think if you were with a family.
Hot water took a long time to get hot.
Pros: As an experienced traveller, the minute I stepped foot in Sofitel Plaza hotel, another chapter was added to my worldly experience.
The lovely flowers display at the foyer added an elegant touch to the entrance. The spacious and comfortable room has a delightful view and room service was impeccable.
The breakfast offered a wide selection of international cuisines which were both tempting and delicious.
Last but not least, the comfortable chairs in the garden which pampered the guests to no end.
A job well done and I thank you for a most enjoyable stay.
Pros: The service was beyond attentive. As an example, we didn't just lie bedside the excellent pool... We were constantly served besides this pool, and often with freebies.
Pros: I liked the rooms, restaurants, pool area.
Cons: Service in the pool area, difficulties in payments with foreign credit cards, miss information in front desk, communication between the workers from shift to shift was poor, airplane noise time to time was too loud.
Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is an iconic 5-star luxury resort nestled in an expansive tropical setting close to the largest convention center, theaters, museums, government offices and the Mall of Asia. 5-star accommodation includes 609 rooms and suites with balconies showcasing spectacular views of Manila Bay sunsets. The hotel attracts international and local travelers alike with its signature Filipino brand of hospitality and the French joie de vivre reflected in its service rituals.
Pros: The folks at the Ascott were super friendly, from the front door, to check in on the 6th floor, the restaurant was very good, staff attending to the room all were outstanding. Have been coming to PI for 10 years 20 plus trips. 1st stays were at New World, last 6 years have been at the Dusit...price/value was better in comparison than both of those hotels...we were in the old wing, rooms were spacious, we did check out the newly remodeled wing and it is newer for sure...the location next to Glorietta was great and only a 12 minute walk thru the mall to get to the Greenbelt Mall and theaters. We will be staying at the Ascott from now on. PS loved the pool area and the Jacuzzi
Cons: There was nothing to complain about at all
Pros: service, facility, location, rates
Cons: Ascott could not locate my reservation even when given my confirmation number and booking agents number. Front desk did not know what to do, they wanted to charge me double my original paid reservation and credit my paid reservation when it came through.....WHAAAAAT! Very late and tired, no one offered to make it right, front desk seem to have attitude. I finally called Kayak and had them locate original reservation which was faxed to front desk. Front desk calls me to tell me they have fixed it and I clearly told them... I FIXED IT BY CALLING KAYAK...which is something they should've done in the first place!!!!!
Pros: We stayed here only because we missed our flight and the Holiday Inn was full. We wanted to stay near the popular shopping areas (Glorietta and Greenbelt). The location was excellent and they upgraded our room so we had a washer/dryer, kitchen and separate bedroom. This was perfect because we desperately needed to do laundry and didn't want to spend extra money on laundry service. It was also nice that we could cook our own meals and didn't have to spend a ton eating out and the Landmark grocery store was only a short walk away.
Cons: We will probably not stay here again because they allow smoking in the rooms so once we made it home, all of our clothes that we just washed smelled like cigarette smoke. The worse part was the little ants that crawled around the whole room even the dining room table. We noticed it the second day there and had all of our luggage on the floor so we were paranoid that ants got into our luggage. We even found some crawling in bed with us. We were very ready to leave.

Pros: I loved the amenities, the buffet, the pool, and the extremely courteous staff.
Pros: I had a great overall experience.
Cons: The only thing I didnt like was hidden cost, they ask me to pay way to much for breakfast buffet which was suppose to be include with the room. Since I didnt go directly through the free breakfast buffet didnt count I had to pay

Pros: everything about dusit thani. shoutout to robee, mai, ramil, mon flores, warren and everyone else who made our stay very special and memorable.
Pros: I could not find anything wrong with this properties amenities, customer service and their focus on customer satisfaction I have only found in 6star properties and exclusive resorts. I would definitely make this my first destination for business and family, I would also recommend Dusit Thani-Manila to all my colleagues local and abroad.
I came to this property for 2 reason's, 1st: came recommended by a family friend which I trusted and thankfully took her advice, 2nd: for our honeymoon getaway, which is close to everything(e.g. shopping, airport, other friends and easily accessible to public transportstion(e.g. Uber, Grab, taxi, buses, jeepney and tricycle).
I would highly recommend this hotel, the frontdesk staff and concierge are well above my expectation but over staff members we were awesome.
Cons: I wish I could've stayed longer but I had to get back to reality, but I can't wait for my next visit next year for my first year anniversary and to bring my extended family to experience true customer service.
Pros: Employees goes extra mile to give a good customer service , definitely my 25 th anniversarry we will stay in Dusit Manila, and everytime a family or friend will visit Philippines I will recommend Dusit hotel I really enjoy staying in that hotel.not to mention I came 14 hours ahead of my flight and Dusit was fully book but they still find a way to accommodate me that was 12 midnight and they just want to make sure I can rest that night after 20 hours flight .
Pros: Lobby and reception
Cons: 1. Pathetic rooms. Old rooms stink like dead animals. Bathrooms are small and badly lit.
2. Staff was even worse. Checked into room no. 1112 which was smelling like a dead mice. Complained took 30 minutes to respond and then offered me another room which was even worse, then moved me into a room which was like a hole in the wall on the 15th floor. The duty manager was rude and just kept saying due to renovation there is smell and that i booked a delux room hence i get a smelly room. And believe me i not a very finicky guy.
3. I would say this hotel for its lobby reception security and breakfast at best qualifies to be a 3.5 star.
Pros: The staff is very friendly and they always remember my name. The location is excellent for shopping, dining and doing business. Great buffet breakfast.
Cons: I asked for them for a cab and was charged 40 dollars for a 4 dollars ride to the airport. When I said I was not paying I was promptly told it was already charged. At this point I didn't have a lot of time to argue since I had to go to the airport.
Pros: Value for money
Pros: It was a room.
Cons: Hotel is old and needs renovation. I'm sure there are leaks in the bathroom behind the shower walls. Convenient to the airport at 5am.
Pros: Every thing about this hotel such as cleanliness , facilities, comfort , location and the friendly staff
Cons: Actually nothing
Pros: Breakfast was very good and staff pleasant
Cons: It's an older hotel! Way over priced! This hotel should be a $60-80 hotel! Unless they have newer rooms I haven't seen, mine was old but hot water was great for Philippines!
Pros: The old rooms are very bad. The moldy carpeting and musty smell will make you sick.
The new rooms are nice. But they are also carpeted, and even though the carpet is new, it still smells. Stay away if you have allergies.
I was initially sent to the dungeon upon arrival (old room), but was then upgraded to a new room after insisting AND paying extra.
The Thai restaurant excellent.
The Japanese restaurant should add traditional western wines to its menu - i.e. French, Italian, Spanish wines. The sushi is mediocre.
Cons: Carpet is not a sustainable building material. Carpet accumulates dirt, allergens and mites deep within its fibers. Moreover, carpet is made of petrochemicals, it does not decompose in landfills and is generally not recycled.
The room's flooring material should be tile.
Pros: great service. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. Not modern but very comfortable.
Cons: perfume fragrance in the lobby
The 5-star Dusit Thani Manila hotel is right in Makati, Manila's financial center, a 15-minute drive from the World Trade Center. The Ayala Museum is 12 minutes on foot, and the mega shopping malls of SM Makati and Glorietta even closer. Manila International Airport is an 8-minute drive.
Cons: The room we stay smells like it's been used as a smoking room---Did request a non-smoking room.
