10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always excellent in every way!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: this is a great hotel if you are traveling from Santander going south, about 180 miles from the port. very welcoming hostess, food in the restaurant was fantastic with beautiful surroundings. great parking and very secure. it was a shame we did not have more time to spend there as it was excellent.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is an oasis in the middle of a pine wood, on a dry, flat plain. Very quiet. The staff were excellent- they served us both dinner and breakfast earlier than stated so that we could meet our schedule. The food was very good; I had the salmon and they made us fresh scrambled eggs in the morning. (not usual in Spain) The room, the bed and the bathroom were all large.
Cons: This is an old style hotel, with wooden floors, which creaked rather badly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast and evening meal. Setting in the middle of a pine forest.
Cons: Only downside is the 2km rough dirt track/road. At weekends it is a popular wedding venue, although the reception is held in a separate building.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location and decoration of the Posada are great. To rest and enjoy of a relaxing time, this is an excellent place to stay.
Cons: I liked everything there. No complains at all.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Children running around the common room until midnight. Many guest, ourselves included, could not stay and had to go to our rooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location in a wide forest. Very good and partly luxurious interior. Fine food and excellent staff.
Cons: It is hardly to find the location - it is about 5 km from the normal road. It is only reachable via sand road.
Castilla Termal Balneario de Olmedo - Olmedo - Building
2
9.0 Excellent (1,293 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Olmedo, Castilla Termal Balneario de Olmedo is in a rural location, within a 15-minute walk of Plaza Ulloa and Palacio Caballero de Olmedo. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The entire building, the architecture, design , cleanliness... quality of the breakfast ... easy to get around and very friendly staff
Cons: Nothing really... the only thing I can think about is that there should be more slots available for the massages and treatments in general ...
7.1 Good
Pros: Relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: The food offered on the Spanish cafeteria menu is not listed in the same order as on the English version of the menu - which led to some interesting dishes being served - i.e. they were not the ones we ordered as the waitress used the position of the food on the menu as a direct cross reference ( a logical assumption) however this was not the case. Our Spanish was not good enough and her English was not good enough to work this our until after the event! We stayed for 3 nights. I am not impressed that this hotel (and others like it) charge the same for each night with no reduction for multiple night stays, so in my opinion that entitles guests to clean robes (especially as they were always wet from using the Spa) and fresh bottled water each day as is the case when you arrive for your first (and perhaps only) night's stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good, clean, comfortable room and bed. We also paid for the breakfast buffet, which offered a very good selection. The staff was professional and courteous. I would happily stay here again, but I might also explore other options in the area.
Cons: We opted to pay 23€/person for access to the thermal pool. While this was relaxing and enjoyable, I think this pricing is a little steep -- there is essentially only a single large pool whose temperature is fairly uniform throughout (i.e.: no hot tubs, etc.). We initially wanted to do one of the water circuits, but they informed us that you needed a group of at least 4, which was a disappointment.
7.1 Good
Cons: Access to the sauna and turkish baths were not included in the pool access which was disappointing.
5.6 Okay
Cons: Internet page did not reflect the actual location very well

6.0 Good
Pros: OK
Cons: Bread selection not up to european standard
5.0 Okay
Pros: Towels as always were good. The restaurant and bar staff were fruendly
Cons: Not all of the reception staff were friendly or particularly helpful. The hotel is huge and there were only four/ five rooms occupied and yet we were given a room which was further away than any other from the restaurant/reception area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very elegant decor and well-maintained fixtures and fittings. The bedroom, hall and bathroom were warm and spacious and it was very wuiet indeed. I slept very well.
Cons: The absence of a kettle and cups. I would liked to have made my own drinks.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Large clean rooms, good bathroom.
Cons: The fact that people serving us in the bar and restaurant could only speak spanish. How can you make foreign tourists feel welcome? Not saying goodbye and thank you for staying with us when we left the premises, not even looking up. Not getting a welcome drink, no water in the room, nor coffee and tea. We’re sure you can do better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always a pleasure to visit
7.0 Good
Pros: The evening meal was excellent. My daughter had the suckling pig - it was beautifully tender with an excellent flavour. I had the steak which was cooked just the way I like it and was also tender.
Cons: We ordered hot chocolate at breakfast. It was so thick that it solidified when it cooled. Although tasty it wasn't really a drink - more of a very sauce so I just dunked my sweet pineapple in it!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness and facilities
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Had food served as room service was excellent .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location for traveling through Spain. Interesting architecture.
Cons: Although the architecture was interesting it was completly dysfunctional for anyboby with mobiltiy or stability problems, many steps and stairs to all parts of the hotel, each room also on several levels. Very difficult and unsafe to get into the bath as it was set into a raised up plinth with two high steps to get up on and then no steps into the bath. As the bath was also the shower this arrangement would be useless for anybody who was unstable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff., clean rooms, quiet location.

Cons: For the double bed, I would appreciate having separate, more dense pillows. Size of bed it's a little narrow (1.35m)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the fact that the room had heating as it was very cold outside. I also like the fact it had a fridge and a bath. I liked there was a supermarket very close by. The room was very big with lots of storage.

Pros: Location to motorway and town was excellent, very clean hotel, friendly staff, breakfast was great value at €3 for coffee croissant and orange juice. Dog friendly at no extra cost, excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: A bit noisy, road right outside bedroom window 1 floor up, would ask for a quiet room next time.

Cons: All was good
6.0 Good
Pros: Good value for money. Comfortable bed.

Cons: The shower didn’t work properly Could not connect to WiFi
5.8 Okay
Pros: This hotel is easily accessed and very clean. Excellent coffee!
Cons: There is very little parking, which was full when we arrived. Our room felt a little dated and the shower was difficult to operate.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Quite place. Independant house
Cons: Due to late arrival , door was closed and the contact was only speaking Spanish (no English, nor French). It has been very difficult to be understood and to get the door open and then the key of the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place! And perfect for going with family, very quite, the owner was simphatic and worried about our staying in cava house, very recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owner/manager who spoke perfect English and was very helpful
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Dream locations for family with kids. Attention to details and quality (we loved to beds!!). Great weekend option not too far away from Madrid.
Cons: Nothing really, orange juice in the morning breakfast if we have to pick something. But everything has been great from the moment we arrived and for all our stay.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Very little. The room had a 'rustic appearance' and the bed was comfy but had to ask for pillows, bathroom OK! and was clean. This property needs an urgent inspection by Booking. com before continuing to advertise via any media.
Cons: There is no sign /directions shown on the 'main road' The post code given by you is a position 20 kilometers away. Only 1 local person knew of the accommodation. No eat/drink facilities on site (tea-coffee) & no close eating place in the town. Whole site very run down and will be seeking compensation as this venue is definitely not fit for purpose/not value for money. The brochure in the room shows the property as it was many years ago. Electric wiring exposed and dangerous. The name given in Booking. com does not match the rustic sign on the property. We could not access the property when we arrived after spending a very long time searching as the gate to access was closed electronically and no personel at the time to open this! Unable to have an evening meal due to no provision in the area.

Pros: Close to shops, banks, cafes and a lovely square. Comfy beds and nice room
Cons: Parking a bit far away but we did find somewhere within walking distance that was free.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Guest rooms located above an atmospheric restaurant. From the entrance door, stairs, price, and the restaurant itself you would expect the rooms to be very basic, but in fact they are not. They are more like a 3-star hotel with large comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Good Wi-Fi connection.

Gran Posada La Mesnada - Olmedo - Building
11
6.5 Good (299 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Olmedo, Gran Posada La Mesnada is just steps from Palacio Caballero de Olmedo and 3 minutes by foot from Plaza Ulloa. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The fact that they are welcoming of children and pets and generally friendly and helpful. The bathrooms have been recently renovated, so they're new and clean. It's really good value for money.
Cons: It's a period building, so it's beautiful but the walls are thin. We were traveling with a dog and a baby, so when the dog heard other guests he'd bark and wake the baby and subsequently annoy all the other guests.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The swimming pool was the only redeeming factor in this place.
Cons: This lodging is an insult to bookings.com. To start with, we had booked a 'suite'. When we arrived it was a scene from Faulty Towers, the owner and the receptionist contradicting each other, I speak and understand Spanish very well. One said there was a flood in our room. The other said that my booking had not been confirmed from Bookings.com's end. I argued that this was impossible. The owner then said that my name was weird and they could not decipher it. Then they said that they would find me another room [which was not the suite I had booked]. Later on I found out that the owner had friends over and gave them our suite. He said he would deduct it from the payment and he did, but in the process we found out he had taken money from our card for the payment of the suite before we had actually arrived on the location, without us having pinned our number etc. This has never happened to us before. During our trip this year we changed 20 hotels, all from Bookings.com, all exceptional, but this was the pits ! The room was actually a hut in the garden. We had to walk trough stones and soil, to get to it. No ventilation due to the fact that we were surrounded by trees which were full of insects and crawlies, so opening the window was out of the question. The room was clean but old, shabby and rundown. We asked to buy water and the owner answered in a rough tone which translates funny since the hotel is advertised as having a restaurant and bar, which are non-existent. This owner is cheating Bookings.com big time. Every year we book hotels for a 3 week trip at least, and this stay was definitely a let-down. Other commented on the breakfast, but believe you me, the poor breakfast was the last thing on our mind during this odd experience at Posada La Mesnada. I think it ought to be removed from Bokings.
4.6 Okay
Cons: They would not serve breakfast before 10am, so too late and I left without getting the breakfast that I had paid for.
