Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh - Edinburgh - Building
7
9.0 Excellent (5,874 reviews)
Overview Reviews
2016/2017 TripAdvisor Hall of Fame-Certificate of Excellence The Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh has been sympathetically designed to blend in with its' historic neighbours. Behind the stunning 16th century exterior there lies a modern hotel with comfortable and well-equipped accommodation and a range of nine conference and banqueting rooms catering for up to 200 delegates. The hotel is popular with both business and leisure travellers as its' central location places it within easy walking distances of the main business, shopping and tourist areas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, early check in, fab breakfast, good drinks and dinner....
Cons: Can't think of anything
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great location, superb interior design of the room. Very modern style
Cons: In-hotel gym was temporarely out of service bu the hotel offered a free entry at a partner gym
6.5 Good
Pros: Spacious suite living room, separate half guest bath, Decent breakfast with separate order menu, gym had free weights to 30kg, location is on royal mile down road from castle (but for Christmas markets and shopping, a princess street hotel would been better), overall friendly staff.
Cons: 1. For a royal mile suite, main bathroom was standard. Overly spacious living room really could’ve spared space for a more comfortable bathroom befitting suite. 2. Website advertised kids eat free. However, when we ordered meals for the kids via room service, we were told it’s not free. Extremely deceptive and off putting of brand. 3. I emailed the hotel 1 week in advance of 4-day stay and asked for milk, orange juice, and water in room stocked and included room mini fridge. Email from customer service acknowledged request and even confirmed we still wanted wine and beer - a nice catch! However, when we arrived, we were informed juice and milk not included. False service promise should’ve not been made. Room service food was Not worth price (pizza, burger, and kids chicken meal were only ok but far more expensive than eaterery options all around).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing! Staff were very helpful and hospitality was good
Cons: The fridges were dirty and the carpets could do with new ones
5.1 OK
Pros: The room
Cons: There was a refurb going on so had to put up with constant drilling was not relaxing
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Old world charm meets modern amenities- you can't go wrong with this hotel right on the royal mike in Edinburgh. Excellent staff, well maintained rooms, and full service. Health club has good assortment of machines and free weights.
Cons: It's bloody cloudy in Scotland- spent an entire week and didn't see the sun once.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved this hotel. From the design to the history of the building to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff to the location to the spa... I could go on and on. Loved!
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: Price on Kayak and Priceline for this hotel on this given night was good.
Cons: If hotel staff know customer has booked with a booking company other than making reservations directly with hotel, the customer care and service beginning with room selection at check-in and savings on dining and other amenities are sub-standard to that if you book directly with the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff. Really like all Scottish people that we met! Hotel is in a great location to all things that are fun and interesting in Edinburgh! The rooms were very well decorated and had every thing we needed for our extended stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We asked to be in the same floor as our friends and after a small hiccup this was arranged.
Cons: Bigger area for breakfast as there was a bit of a wait for a table. Comfortable to waiting place though .
10.0 Excellent

9.7 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful as was my room. I was there on business and didn’t have a lot of time to explore Edinburgh, but the great location made kit easy to see a lot with the time I had available. Would consider staying again for personal travel as well.
4.8 OK
Pros: Location
Cons: Bedroom was irritating. Numerous lightbulbs flickered. There was a sewer smell in the room when we arrived. There was air leakage at our window which caused cold draughts all night and meant we heard everything going on in the service yard below which disturbed my sleep. The heating/ air system was poor and the room was either too stiff or cold and I had to keep getting up to change the controls. Hotel was very quiet too, why they gave us this room was strange or thoughtless.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel & facilities. Modern, spacious interior. Complementary wifi, pool, + gym. Very helpful staff. Spa and breakfast are typically not included, but upgrade is possible for 90 GBP per day for 2 people. This includes access to the club lounge, the spa, unlimited drinks and snacks from 5:30-7:30pm, and breakfast in the lounge in the morning. If you wanted a greater selection for the breakfast, you could pay 5 GBP more per person for the breakfast at the One Square restaurant downstairs which includes a quite large selection of hot options and a large continental breakfast. All in all, the food and drinks were amazing. The spa was great - there is a heated hydropool and then multiple types of rooms around it: hammam, rock sauna, aromatherapy room, biosauna, etc.
Cons: The location is a little further from the city center than I initially anticipated, but it wasn't a huge problem. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to the Edinburgh Castle and 20-30 if walking at a brisk pace to George St, Princes St, etc. where all the shops are. There isn't much to do around the hotel itself, particularly at night - it seems like a business neighborhood + convention center next door.
