Pros: + Convenient location near 1 line or just a bit further to B and C lines
+ Locker was larger enough for 1 backpack, a grocery bag of stuff, and a medium-sized duffel bag. And still extra room, too!
+ All staff I encountered were really nice and helpful!
+ I left my pants in the shower stall for probably over 12 hours and they ended up in the lost and found. What a bonus!
+ Chargers *inside* the lockers and near the bed are super helpful and pretty safe

Pros: you expect little of a hostel in N-Y city and this one made the $40 a lot more than just a night in a budget accomodation! I have been in far more expensive hostels in the City and they are no match for this one. Definitely recommended.

Pros: The location was perfect as we were across the street from Central Park, close to Lincoln Center, Columbus Square, and other great cites in the city. The staff was very friendly, and I appreciated the fact that there was a security desk in the lobby. The beds were surprisingly comfortable for being bunk beds and the room was very quiet as our window faced away from the street.

Pros: Reading reviews over Broadway Hotel & Hostel on the internet, we had low expectation and was prepared for the worst. But we were pleasantly surprised on arrival on how good this hotel is. Two blocks away from the subway station, and lot of nice restaurants / cafes in the neighborhood.

Pros: I never got to stay. When I arrived from my flight and tried to check in they said my room was flooded and there was no where for us to stay and nothing they could do for us!!!! And they claim you guys still have my money. I tried repeatedly to call the help number with my reservation but they were terrible at helping. Claiming they don’t have my money and that the third party wasn’t answering their phone then just hung up on me!!! Not only was I stranded in New York with no where to stay but now with no money bc I had to rent another hotel for 1200!!!!!!!. Luckily I found somewhere. The fact that the hotel did ever call or email me before I arrived is ridiculous! I will attempt one more time to call and retrieve my money before I look towards legal recourse. To recoup my money plus additional money I was forced to spend due to this nightmare. If I can just get my money back then that’s all I will need and won’t take any other action. I would appreciate a call from someone once this is read.

Top tips for finding the perfect New York hostel
- Known as one of the world’s most expensive cities for travel, the main advantage of choosing to stay in a hostel in New York is price. With a thriving hostel scene, travelers can also enjoy some of the most artistic, creative, and friendly accommodations in the city at a fraction of the price of a boutique hotel. Staying in a hostel in New York is also beneficial to solo travelers, giving them the chance to meet new friends in safe and relaxed environments.
- Couples looking for a hostel in New York can combine the best of both worlds with the Broadway Hotel and Hostel. At budget prices, this design-conscious property offers dorms for two or private rooms complete with coffee machines and TVs. Jazz on Columbus Circle Hostel has more basic amenities but is also popular with budget-conscious couples because of its private rooms and suites.
- There are plenty of outstanding hostels in New York for solo travelers, but several lead the pack, thanks to their amenities offered and their friendly atmospheres. Jazz on the Park Hostel is known for its coffee bar, game room, summer BBQs, and social pub crawls, while Hi New York offers a different event every night to help solo travelers make new friends—imagine bar tours, clubbing trips, in-house music events, and movie nights. Chelsea International is also very popular for its free pizza nights and spacious hangout lounges.
- Most hostels in New York are located in Manhattan, with a concentration on the Lower East Side and Upper West Side. Hostels in the Lower East Side district are perfect for travelers on a budget and those looking for cultural diversity, cool bars, and a buzzing nightlife. The Upper West Side accommodations tend to be a little more expensive, but are conveniently located for major tourist sights while providing quieter nights that are more suitable for families or couples.
