Cons:

Everything. The car wasn't available on Friday, the agency closed earlier. Leaving me no choices than cancelling my WE plans. Finally got another car (completely different quality of car by the way...) on Saturday morning. And to end up the process they overcharged me even more and I had to open a claim physically. Worst experience of my life whereas I am renting cars very often (over the last 2 months I rented 10 different cars with multiple companies). I will never go to Sixt and I will spread the word and advise that everyone do the same.

Cons:

All was fine until SIXT dropped a surprise one after dropping it off claiming I had gashed a hubcap and asking me to fill out a ludicrous full accident report for it and asking if I called the police. Frombthe pictures they sent me I cannot for the life of me understand what they are talking about.

Pros:

The car was nice and very clean, and I appreciated being able to get a car easily during the pandemic.

Cons:

I booked a drop-off location that was closed at the time that I had selected when I started the rental, and was told that extending the rental until the next day would cost me $150, which is about 8x what I had paid for the first day. I was told I would also have to pay $150 if I was late dropping the car off at an alternate location, which was much further away. I ended up making the drop-off time and avoided the charges, but was frustrated by being threatened with penalties for a situation that wasn’t my fault and I should have been alerted of when I booked the car, or when I picked it up.

Pros:

I WOULD HAVE liked to actually get the van I booked and the price I booked it.

Cons:

That I could actually get the van I booked. I was on a cruise ship that was delayed because a passenger was critically ill. We had to return to Honolulu so the Patient could get the care needed. This along with a storm at sea made as a few hours late. I called on Tuesday morning to confirm our van would still be waiting and was told that the reservation had been canceled. It took an exorbitant amount of time to find out why and then to find that there were no more vans available, at all. This was even true of Budget’s sister agency, Avis. I ended up having to book a larger van through Enterprise for 7.5 times the amount of your quote for the minivan. Needless to say I am not happy with the outcome. I will think twice before using your service again.

When you are a tourist and don’t speak very well English, Budget is trying to add you all additional fees as possible, upgraded car, full gaz for 200% more expensive than usual one.. and employees at the drop in laugh with other colleague when they sell incredible feed in front of you… Budget is an awful company , we have rented the car for 1 day … and cost us almost 400$ for San fransisco - Los Angeles …

I got the car at the Avis/Budget office close to Fisherman’s Warf. Process was quick and the lady was lovely. She had an upgrade available and was kind enough to change our car when the battery on the first one failed. Altogether a great experience. When I dropped off at LAX it was 4:30am and there was already a neat logistic going on and the shuttle to the airport was right there. Very satisfied customer!

Cons:

They didn't have a small-sized car that I originally requested, and first gave me a large Ford sedan that was very loud (the moment you turn it on, it makes a VROOM noise without accelerating), and when I requested a different car they said they only had a large SUV, so I ended up taking that which was very uncomfortable to drive.

Cons:

Car REEKED of smoke, but was “certified clean”. We unfortunately didn’t have time to change out the car as were already running late but very disappointed as we were in the car for 4+ hours round trip for a road trip and it was an AWFUL smell. Very disappointed and would like to have some money back/a discount
