San Francisco hotels in North Beach

Cons: Valet was very expensive, They did not warn about the price up front. They were insistent we took a mini bar key even tho we didn't want one. no nightlife around the location.

Cons: Pillows and beds were very uncomfortable.

Cons: Lack of facilities no hotel bar or estaurants although there are independent providers attached to hotel. No pool.

Cons: The parking fee is outrageous ($45) and you must use valet to park your vehicle. Customer service was professional; yet, it wasn't above and beyond what should happen.

Cons: Paying for parking amd not the most helpful for helping with luggage. Check-in attendant was not the most friendly. View from room was odd - it was looking right at another room. Not quite a courtyard just a small square that looks at other rooms.

Cons: We did not have hot water the first morning however it was fixed when we got back to the hotel later in the afternoon. The concierge staff could have been better- they suggested an Italian place for dinner that had terrible reviews- - im glad I checked ahead. We also asked about bars and nightlife and she sent us to broadway street which is full of strip clubs- didn't see many bars- after the fact we figured out that we should have been closer to the beach on the same street. They lacked knowledge of the areas, I know it's a big city but they should be familiar with areas to send tourists.

Cons: 3 years ago the parking wasn't as expensive as this trip 51 plus 8 tax each night is outrageous

Cons: Only complaint was the noisy neighbors with hyper kids running around next door.

Cons: I was told that the remodel had changed the layout and contents of the rooms. As a result, I reserved a room with room for four people and arrived to a room that would sleep two. The issue was resolved with rollaway beds (the room was quite large), but that could cause problems for other people.

Cons: Price confirmed by booking.com was not registered with the hotel. When they tried to charge a higher rate, I had to present the confirmation email from booking.com in order to get it adjusted down to the confirmed amount.

Cons: Huge construction going on. Had to take side door, make shift reception area. Didnt really feel welcome. would have preferred to stay elsewhere had I known about it.

Cons: Location had some logistic predicaments Cable car hub is nearby but there was an accident so I had to take a bus but it didn't go to my END point and I had to walk 5 blocks UPHILL

Cons: We had 2 doubles and the beds sagged in the middle. Very hard for two people to sleep in a bed. Kept rolling into eachother. Please update mattresses.

Cons: But they were so understaffed. We checked in at 430pm and did not receive our crib for the baby until close to 10pm! We had to call them once to remind and I had to remind them at the counter when I came back from the store. We also added some items for them to bring up like baby shampoo and toothpaste, etc. when housekeeping came up at 930pm, he only brought the small items. I asked about the pack and play and he said they never told him. I assumed he was going to ring our toothpaste and the bedding for the baby, no. They didn't tell him about the toothpaste either!!!!! He had to come back twice!!! It was late and waaaaay past the kids bedtime. Sooooo annoying. The ladies at the counter made it seem like they would take care of everything but they didn't. One of them even asked me about the crib check in. Very disappointed.

Cons: I requested the earliest possible check in time, and after my flight landed on the day of check in, the Hotel text me and said that I couldn't check in until after 3pm. I didn't have a rental car so I had to drag my luggage around downtown SF. I also requested to have a room with a view and a room on the highest floor possible. I was put on the 3rd floor with a window facing the hotels interior roof top. Zero view. There were large cobwebs above the bathroom door frame, the top sheet of my bed was yellowed on the underside and there were a few small stain marks on the sheets that were either wine, juice, or blood. King size bed was not comfortable at all. I HATE the hotels TV/entertainment system. The remote has a rollerball to control a mouse on the screen that is so small you can't read it unless you are sitting in the chair at the desk. Least user-friendly system I've ever used in a hotel. It's like you are watching tv through the computer's "tv application". Really strange.

Cons: Some of the desk staff was less knowledgeable and friendly than I would have expected, but others were great and made up for it!

Cons: the room was just so incredibly TINY! barely had room to move around the bed, which would not have been so bad if there were at least some sort of desk or table to sit at, or a lounge area in the hotel that had a table and chairs (there were several couch-type areas but nothing that could double as a desk). I was travelling for work, and could not really do much at all at the hotel. also this was listed as a double room... I cannot imagine sharing this room with someone else.

Cons: The rooms were too cramped

Cons: Parking was a pain but that's an issue you'll encounter with many places in SF. gotta be careful with noise levels since you can hear things and sound can easily penetrate through walls and windows.

Cons: It was a little strange to have a window in my room that looked out on the hallway, though it was useful since the room got a bit stuffy with it closed. The mornings were a little loud with everyone waking up and using the bathrooms and showers, even with that window closed (hence the earplugs, I suppose).

Cons: The lack of air conditioning...but that's what you expect for such an old building.

Cons: Of course, would have preferred our own bathroom.

Cons: We could barely fit in our room because it was so small. We were the first room across from the bathroom and could hear every time someone went pee. Like literally hear them pee. The lightbulb flickered and a curtain blind fell off. The bed was uncomfortable and room was so tiny.

Cons: Thin walls, older mattress and bedding and furnishings. Small, but to be expected. Shared bathrooms and showers were not ideal, but not a big deal for a quick one night stay.

Cons: The rooms were very small. Had to put the chair on top of the wardrobe so we could both put our suitcases on the floor.

Cons: There were no included amenities for the price. Parking is an extra $52 plus $7.50 a night tax. Wifi is $15 a night +tax. You have to call up for more than the 2 creamers for your coffee when they leave 3 packs of coffee. The noise was absolutely terrible as the bus station was right outside our window. Overall for the price it was very run down with very little to offer for calling itself a 4 star hotel.

Cons: While checking into the hotel the lady got smart with me numerous times. When I asked about the noise level she gave me a smart reply. Parking was expensive! By the time they added on the hotel tax it was almost 60 bucks!

Cons: Odd layout. Only one entrance, it was like 1/3 of a block in- which means you have to walk [on average] > 1/4 a block after entering lobby to get to one's room. Also i wish the website had mentioned the $50 a day for parking[we were in town for 24 hours.] This might have been the going rate for Fisherman's Wharf but this would've made the difference between this place and a place nearly $40-60 cheaper: longer walk to piers but saving $40-50/night is a big difference. Might not have been the hotel's fault maybe the booking site should've mentioned this, but still this is important information. Other complaint, probably more universal: really going to charge $14 to use hotel WiFi in one's room?! In 2015? First time rentimg hotel in San Francisco. Is this the norm? Free on lobby, though. Very not cool.

Cons: This is probably unique to my visit but: - The gentleman who checked me in was incredibly rude. - There was used shampoo and soap still in the bathroom suggesting that it wasn't cleaned very thoroughly. - They were cutting trees right outside the rooms causing a lot of noise and dust during the day.

Cons: room was end room a where deliverys started at 4:30 am and too noisy till 6:00 am and very dissapointed in that

Cons: Stayed 1 night. Checked in. 7 hours later get a note in the door that the hot water will be shut off from 11pm-5am. why wasnt i told this at checkin? I wouldnt have stayed. Toilet was broken had to take off the back cover and stick my hand in tank to flush....

Cons: I am disabled but had to walk down 5 1/2 long weird hallways to get to my room. The setup is ridiculous. There were a few too many hairs in my shower. I found the mattress to be uncomfortable. Some staff was snooty and pushed guests through like a herd of cattle at check-in time.
