10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous immaculate hotel. All restaurant options are all great with plenty to choose from. Facilities are great, big gym with lots of space, several pools and bar areas.
Cons: Honestly there is nothing we didn’t like, perfect service and facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this resort was awesome. From check in to check out the experience was perfect. I have stayed at all inclusive resorts before but this one was hands down my favorite. The food was great, spa was amazing and the room was perfect. Looking forward to the next time we come back.
Cons: Sometimes drink orders by pool take a while and there is no complimentary sunscreen station. So bring some, else it’s $24 at resort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous resort - restaurant choices were suburb, facilities excellent and overall the staff were super professional and helpful. Great value for money. Highly recommend!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Food incredible, restaurants are truly good, decoration is really nice, full of details of high quality. The room is amazing, with a jacuzzi in the balcony looking at the sea. Amenities are great, the main bar is great, the pools are super nice. Beach is also nice, quiet, and beautiful. Staff at the rooms, restaurants and front desk are great (not at the pool).
Cons: The entretainment was not well organized. They never announce plans (for instance, one night there was a beatiful cinema over the pool with noone looking at it). Their excursions at the hotel are overprices (by about 50% extra than the people at the beach offers for the same service). Googles for snorkeling and kayaks are seldom available and third party organized. Staff at the pool bars are not welcoming. The rest of them (at the room, the fron desk, the restaurants etc. are great thought).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff - very kind and fast service
Cons: The Mexican restaurant
6.3 Good
Pros: Property is amazing!
Cons: A lot of staff running around but no one is actually helping you. Had en episode where a waiter kicked us out of our sun beds, lying to us...probably because someone tipped him more. Nothing was done by the managers. We were left humiliated and annoyed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived @ Unico to the day we left, the customer care from the staff was excellent! Our host Augustin who was assigned to us for our stay, was outstanding! Everything from his first welcome text to all the reservations & arrangements he made were executed in the most efficient & courteous manner! Our room far exceeded our expectations, it was spacious & comfortable with stunning views over the beach! The minibar was complimentary & always fully stocked, as were all the towels & toiletries in the bathroom! The all-inclusive rate included everything apart from laundry, spa & beauty treatments, where you were only charged a 25% service fee, approx $57.00 for a massage! However the best thing that was included in the all-inclusive rate was the New Year’s Eve Masquerade party, an event that ordinarily proves very expensive! We enjoyed a delicious 5 course dinner & the alcohol was flowing! There was also fantastic entertainment from a live band & DJ, so the party went on till way after midnight! The resort has 4 restaurants including international cuisine from Italy, Asia, & Mexico and the quality & presentation of the food was excellent! Shout out to our lovely waitress Alejandra in Mura House! There were also 2 poolside restaurants offering lunchtime snacks such as pizza & tacos! Unico offers a diverse range of daily activities from cookery classes & salsa lessons to floating yoga which was taught by Monse an inspiring yogi who brought a lot of fun to the challenge of holding the warrior position on a floating mat! Overall the best thing about Unico was that it had all the advantages of an all inclusive resort without it feeling like a zoo.
Cons: The sun beds on the beach were very uncomfortable & impossible to sit on all day without getting severe back ache!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well this is an amazing hotel! It gives you a relax feeling all the time. It is big an most of the people stick in the hotel (all included so obvious) but you never feel overcrowded. The "la escondida" pool is warmed up which is the best (I dont know why all those 5 stars hotel dont have a least one warmed pool). The staff is nice and very helpful. And most of them seem really happy to work there. The bathtubs in the balcony are really something to highlight. You hardly will find such a big and nice outdoor tub. The food overall is very good!! You have at least 3 different restaurants to choose from, all included. The coktails are nice too. The amenities are high quality and organic. The app service is really nice touch. The beach is nice, although the sea a little harsh, but in the end of the day we spent most of the time in the several pools.
Cons: There is not many things to point. I would say this is modern, clean, practical but I think the design of the hotel is not mexican, traditional and lacks some authenticity. Its beautiful though, but I mean it could be in any part of the world with good weather.. you wont have the same carribean/jungle/ mayan jungle feeling as others 5 stars hotels in riviera maya. However this hotel does not dissapoint in anything it offers. It just could be more premium, more experience focused (sometimes it feels the coktails are the star of the show, and I mean they are amazing). The room view was a dissapointment though as the trees were very tall we cannot see the ocean.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything was wonderful. Centre tour and massages were great!
Cons: Beach isn’t great but pools make up for it! And I’m a beach person. Read that others complained about music at pool but they must have fixed that because the music was super faint and really inoffensive and pleasant.

It is the perfect choice for couples and adults who want to enjoy privacy and personalized service whilst also offering unlimited access to a wide array of top quality services. 8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything!! The hotel, the staff, the facilities were all excellent! It really felt like I was being spoilt as the staff were so friendly and made everything so easy for my stay! Food was delicious and lots to choose from. The stand out have to be the staff! So friendly and helpful, I didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service is amazing and I loved every single meal. The rooms are very spacious and I really enjoyed the grounds. The spa is also relaxing.
Cons: The entertainment was fun but not a lot of nightlife activities like dancing or ways to meet other guests here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff, the location is huge, green mangroves everywhere, the adult section is really isolated, high quality food with vegetarian options.
Cons: Nothing at all!

Pros: Amazing facilities Great food Superb rooms Best service
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing and better than I could have expected. The staff were truly great and my butler Daniela couldn't have been more helpful. I didn't leave the site as I had everything I needed here. All the spa services were incredible and the food was great in every restaurant. As a solo traveller I always felt safe and I had a great holiday
Cons: I would have loved some beach, there is a trs section of beach further down but it's set back from the water so you're walking through groups to get to the water. For me it wasn't a huge deal as the rest of the experience was amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service, the food, the facilities everything was fantastic
9.2 Excellent
Pros: TRS Yucatan is a luxurious resort for a really great value. Most of the staffs are very helpful and the amount of entertainment option they have is incredible. Also, while staying in TRS you can also experience other restaurants or activities from other Palladium hotel groups, however from my experience generally the service offered in TRS is far more superior than the other resorts. Their private butlers are really helpful and their restaurants and room service menus are also great quality.
Cons: Check-in and check-out process wasn’t really smooth for me. I had to check in twice during my stay, and first time the receptionist forgot to inform us if the room is ready for check in and we weren’t given a bracelet (resort pass) until 3 hours after the check in time, so we couldn’t do any activities on the first day. Second time, the receptionist asked me to show the receipt for payment (I’ve paid for the entire stay the night before), apparently their system does not show if a client have already paid for the stay or not and he couldn’t find a copy of receipt or the documents I signed the previous day, so I had to sign another copy of their documents. Also, their mobile app to call the drivers for golf cart ride does not work.

Pros: The New Year event.
Cons: Verry old and all cheap..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome place. We are going back. Woodward gave me a few hours in the morning and another after dinner to relax with adults. Room service was great. Bottle of wine at 4am when you can’t sleep; on it’s way! Toro was the best restaurant with a great salmon and kids menu. You choose your sides. Monkey walked us to our room the first day. Wild monkey. Very sweet! Had a great time. Don’t freak out when restaurants are completely booked. Go to the reservation desk at noon and you will find plenty of openings as people book, then cancel. Don’t worry too much about pocking a room, other than sleeping you won’t see it. We had a two story with 2 balconies, 2 baths, a hot tub on the top balcony that we never even turned on. We met great people with great kids and hung out all day and night. No one needs a hot Tub when it’s 84 outside. Recommend
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service
Cons: The venue is very big so sometimes hard to find thing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good hotel
Cons: Beach chairs always full
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are never disappointed with the Hard Rock All-Inclusives- loved the rooftop jacuzzi, fresh food with lots of options, good drinks, friendly wait staff (Jesus at the poolside area was particularly great). We felt safe and comfortable and knew we would be well-taken care of.
Cons: You have to know it’s more than an hour from the Cancun airport (but close to Tulum and some great snorkeling). Wish the Heaven (adults-only) side was bigger, as we had to get a room in the family side of the resort since Heaven sells out faster. But we love that there are adults-only pools and beaches (and restaurants) so we don’t have to listen to crying kids when we want to have some quiet time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tons of kids friendly entertainment, kids everywhere. Kids buffet, kids friendly meals, gelato at coffee shops. Great family vacation spot!
Cons: Room has two beds but it was only two double, wish it was queen. Buffet tends to run out of foods. Pool bar service is very slow and never come.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: i like the room swmming pool
Cons: food could do with more vegan veg food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Pool Food Entretenient
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good food and lots of facilities
Cons: More chairs at the pools and beaches

Cons: Food was good although after a few days, it got repetitive. They should have an Indian restaurant - people would love that.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Ala-Carte dinners were excellent. The staff were very attentive.
Cons: Not much for onsite beaches but large ones were nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beach, pools, staff, food and entertainment
Cons: I didn't really like getting set up to view a presentation for time share, however I realize that it is all part of business.
6.8 Good
Pros: You can't possibly find nicer people. The staff is extremely friendly and as accommodating as possible. Great atmosphere for families, or with a significant other -definitely not for you if you are single. Beautiful location and maintained pretty well. Great poolside bartenders!
Cons: Resort almost completely shuts down by 10pm no matter what night of the week. Found ourselves bored which is unfortunate considering we chose this place due to the amount of activities and what we thought would be nightlife. The food was horrible. At every restaurant....even with the privilege option. Good value, great location and people but wouldn't return due to the food.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was so friendly! Loved the whole resort
Cons: Food was terrible except for the Mexican restaurant.... but was it really good or was it just the best of the garbage
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The upgrade on the suite made the trip for us.
Cons: Nothing really.

Pros: Pros * Monica at check-in, very nice * The absolutely the best bed we have ever slept in. * Very Good Morning Room service food arrives hot. * we loved the Breakfast Sausages. * Beautiful Room, and 2 Large TVs. * Fantastic shower with instant hot water. * Price of our room for Privilege * Beautiful grounds. *The Steak Restaurant, is very good * Beautiful Spa and Spa Pool. * The resort is Clean. * Wifi in rooms, but slow * Hot Dog Food Truck has fantastic Sausages and Hot Dogs *Fantastic waiters we had 1) Rubin 2) William 3) Room service : Marvin * Japanese Restaurant is wonderful and you get a great show from the Chef, and delicious food, but the deserts have no flavor.
Cons: Cons * No Valley parking, I had to walk in the heat to park our car, first all inclusive that we had to do this. * No elevators to the main restaurants. * All the buffets, the food was only warm not hot, and no flavor. * We never seen any of the Main Chefs walking and checking the buffet, not once did I see anyone taking the temperature of the food. * The wrost cheese cake I have ever had in the Steak Restaurant. * Worst waiter in Steakhouse : Victor * Large bath tub on porch is hard to get into and out, absolutely no privacy. * The Privilege members pool has no steps, only a ladder. * Pool too noisy from adjacent pools * Non Privileged members swimming in the Privileged pool * Too many Sales people always trying to sell you timeshare. * In the gift shop, no souvenirs with the hotels name, only says Riviera Maya, and expensive. * Steak Restaurant played loud Cuban Music, why not play Mexican music, we're in Mexico. * Small pastries have absolutely no flavor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - We booked a Privileged Romance Room, a beautiful room that was very spacious, clean and comfortable. - The food at all of the restaurants was incredible, way above expectations, very fresh and catered to many dietary requirements. We specifically loved the Mexican restaurant, tapas bar, teppanyaki restaurant, and Bloved restaurant. - The service throughout the hotel was wonderful, everyone was truly welcoming, friendly and helpful, some of the servers even remembered our names. - The beach and pools were amazing, plenty of space to relax and lots of bars nearby to grab coffee, cocktails, smoothies. - We thoroughly enjoyed the activities including kayaking, snorkelling, theatre shows. Our massages were truly amazing and the spa was beautiful. - First time at an all inclusive resort, loved the overall vibe, wifi was great, recommend to bring some small notes/change to be able to tip at the restaurants
Cons: Cocktails were very sweet but that was to be expected
4.0 Okay
Pros: There were a couple of staff that were friendly and helpful. The pool areas were nice if you could find a lounge chair.
Cons: The food was sub-par at best and the waiters in the restaurants were unfriendly. The rooms were average. We had to request a change because the plumbing was not working in the first room. Although we had access to all the restaurants on the property we had to make reservations days in advance and had to specify a time. This was inconvenient especially the first night (when it was not possible to make a reservation).
6.0 Good
Pros: Walk up to any bar and get a drink (well of course, top shelf extra) FOR FREE! Well, it's included.
Cons: Needed more dedicated adults only sections/pools.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very friendly
Cons: No prior information about booking restaurants meant that all a la Carte were booked for our stay

7.1 Good
Pros: Walking in the lobby blows you away, stunning space. This was our last stop on our honeymoon so We paid for a room with a roof terrace and jacuzzi, the room was absolutely amazing. I can’t fault the room at all. The staff were also all lovely and helpful.
Cons: The heaven section pool area was like one huge frat party - drunk people there all day very loud music. Nowhere really to go for a quiet swim and sunbathe. Food was ok - nothing special just buffets in every restaurant. Had room service lunch and no one came to take the plates away. I called at 7pm and they said someone would be right up - we left the plates outside and we’re awoken at 4am to animals scratting around the plates that were still there. Would not stay again.
4.0 Okay
Pros: We had the presidential suite and it was awesome. Huge (maybe unnecessarily huge) and very luxurious! Some of the staff was nice enough, even though we gave them a hard time during check-in. The wifi was solid as long as we stayed inside. The restaurants were also pretty good for an all-inclusive, but the reservation system leaves a lot to be desired. Our first day we came at 9:45PM to the Mexican restaurant, and were told we can't be seated without reservations. The restaurant was basically empty, and after I mentioned that, the lady said if we come back a little past 10, if the 10PM reservations don't come, we can get a table. We came at 10, and got a table. We were the only people there after 10:20. Even though the restaurant closes at 11, we were rushed the entire time. Clearly, the hostess just wanted to go home early. (Wondering why it's in the "what did you like" section? I ran out of characters in the other one)
Cons: Where do I start? 1) There was no beach!!! They have a couple of mini lagoons, but if you enjoy swimming out or jumping on the waves, it's not happening. If you enjoy walking along the beach, (or anywhere, really!) it's not happening. 2) Check-in time was at 3PM, so I scheduled an important work call for 3:15 PM. Our room was not ready at 3PM, and after my wife made a small scene at check-in, we finally got our room around 3:30PM. 3) The room we did get was not properly cleaned. There were a couple of hairs laying around, and it was clear housekeeping was rushing to get the room ready, but couldn't... and we only got the room because someone at the front desk just told them they have to finish up. Most importantly, one of the toilet contents were entirely brown! I still don't know what it was because it didn't immediately smell. So I thought maybe it was some cleaning solution, but who makes a brown toilet cleaning solution?! After I flushed, it definitely smelled terrible though, and that toilet was pretty bad the rest of our stay too. I guess that's what we get for rushing housekeeping out. 4) There was a snake in our room. The staff did all they could to get him out and eventually said he crawled into something and won't come back. Of course, it was back the next day. This time, they did get it and carried it away. I'll give credit to the staff - they followed up half a dozen times about the issue - but I do think part of it was because they're a bit disorganized. 5) The biggest reason we wanted to stay at a big resort was I wanted to get some volleyball. But even though it's on the schedule at 4PM almost every single day, I could never find a game. On the last day, people were playing in the "kids-allowed" section of the hotel (I did check that section every day too), so I finally got a game in.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was beautiful and there were many pools and "beaches" to choose from.
Cons: Nothing stood out as outstanding.

Pros: Variety of restaurants. There was an adult poolside.
Cons: The beach had too much seaweed. They played elevator music on the adult pool side and wouldn't change it.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was great for what they had to work with. They did the best they could do.
Cons: The smell was horrendous. The furnishing either need to be upgraded or cleaned (i.e. The lampshade in the room had stains all over it). It may have been the wrong time of year but the beach was covered with seaweed and it was closed. Not good when you're going some place that shows photos of beautiful beaches.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the entertainment at the theater and the live performances at the lobby. I had a great time!

Pros: Very clean and good beds.
Cons: The location was too touristic.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: The condo was not ready when we got there, despite of our arrival being at 6:30 pm. They gave us another condo to use until they had ours ready, but the lady said it would take them one our and a half to clean and it took them three hours. So we only checked in to our unit past 9 pm. When we booked, they asked a time frame for our arrival and I said between 6 and 7 pm. I don’t know what could possibly have happened that did didn’t have the unit ready at 6:30.

Cons: More water pressure in showers would be appreciated

Pros: Location is perfect! Alfredo is wonderful. Condo is beautiful.
Cons: Floors are very slippery! Most of the time Rodrigo and his staff are the running things and they are friendly and responsive. But when Rodrigo's brothers are in charge they are rude.

Pros: The managers were super friendly and helpful. It's in a great location with quick walk to shops and restaurants.
Cons: The unit we were in was not in good shape, floor tiles broken that moved under your feet, also a huge crack in the sliding glass door that was taped instead of fixed/replaced. The AC quit working one night, also had a musty smell in the room. The shower did not maintain a constant temperature.

Pros: We were welcomed very warmly to mom's house and enjoyed our stay tremendously. We feel in love with the small dog called couscous that was always happy to see us and be petted and with the wonderful breakfast, especially the homemade bread, cakes and jams. We were able to park our rental car right in front of the house and did some amazing trips within an hours car ride: Tulum, many Cenotes and snorkeling with turtles at Akumal.
Cons: There is nothing we really disliked. One thing that some people might have a problem with is that the bathroom wasn't directly attached to the bedroom we were staying in, so you have to leave the bedroom to go to the bathroom, which is the next room. Bathrobes are provided though and it wasn't a problem for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location. The use of a pool. But above all the very warm, sincere welcome and wonderful food that the owner provides.
Cons: Nothing to say for this!

Pros: Loved the garden patio
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our short stay in Mom's House! The rooms were good and clean, breakfast with home made bread and cakes (they were delicious!!) was very nice. You can sit in the garden and relax or even swim in the pool. Mary was such a lovely host and it was a place where you can feel like home! PS: Her little dog "Couscous" was also very cute!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a small family run B&B with everything you'd expect from a traditional British style B&B. We loved everything: the hosts, the location, the facilities, the beaches and I should of course mention wonderful breakfasts like nowhere else I've ever been to.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is really lovely and we can recommend the staying at Mom‘s home to 100%. She does everything posible that the guests feel comfortable for example she gave us a lot of recommendations where to eat and she recommended us a good dive shop and she even drove us directly to the dive shop. The breakfast was absolutely amazing with a lot of fruits, homemade marmelade, homemade bread and a delicious cake (especially the carrot cake) and if you want to you even can have eggs. The house is situated in an area where only residences have access so it is very safe.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our host was super kind and spoil us with some delicious breakfast made by herself - breads, cakes, jam, fresh orange juice, coffee, fruit - Maria Jo is a chef, an entrepreneur, a yoga instructor... you will feel the positive vibes and energy at her place and she will make you feel like at home. Property has a nice pool, a few minutes from a calm beach, and it is between Tulum and Plata del Carmen, avoiding the crowd.
Cons: We are biased for beachfront properties
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hostess & excellent food
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Mom’s is located within the gated town, very safe. It is on the far end of town if you’re walking... it’s maybe 1/4 mile to some restaurants & 1/2 to the centro. It is just a 2 minute walk to a beach. The beach is public, and a resort has much of the area but there is plenty of room for other on the tip. Also spa, gym, etc for day pass at this resort.
Cons: I loved it. But I suppose some might like more hotel & less B & B ... owner very personable, and knowledgeable about making it what the guest wants. She is a great cook.

Pros: The food was pretty good. The staff were nice.
Cons: The inability to get reservations at a reasonable time, especially when your friends would tell you there were many empty tables.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The VIP Level at the Palace was extraordinarily good! Food was fantastic! Loved every second!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Friendliness of Staff - Quality of Food at the buffets - Excellent snorkeling and swimming with turtles
Cons: - A la carte restaurants - Spring breakers - way too many loud and obnoxious spring breakers here - avoid March and April!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay at the Barcelo. My kids absolutely loved the kids club. They made many friends there. The staff there were amazing, they really cared about the kids and planned lots of fun activities. The highlight for my boys was the waterpark. The one here and at the Colonial were superb. I really enjoyed the activities by the pool, such as yoga, aqua aerobics and zumba. Carlos and Natalie are amazing! They really enjoy their job and the make it so much fun for everyone there. The beach was amazing too, the water was so clear we could see tons of fish and turtles! My husband's favourite was the Japanese Restaurant Tokyo. We couldn't get a reservation so after trying once without any luck, we went early one day and got in. All restaurants were great but this was specially good, with all the entertainment and fantastic food. Overall we had a wonderful stay and I'd totally recommend.
Cons: The front desk staff could have been better. Our reception was good with a cocktail welcome drink, however, we didn't get all the information we needed regarding basic things, such as hotel map or room location. I had to keep on asking about things. It was only after 3-4 days of our stay that I learned there were night shows at 9.30 every night!! And also after 3-4 days that I found out there were other activities at different areas of the resort we could participate in. Our check-out was extremely stressful and the worst part of our stay. After waiting on a long queue to check out, Josue Miranda told me I had to get my boys and husband as he needed to remove everyones bracelets!! We were not aware of this and we were already late!! So I had to run and get them from the restaurant and queue a long line again!! We asked Josue if it was possible to skip the line as our taxi was already outside (and the queue was twice the size at this time) but he said it wasn't possible, we had to queue again... anyway, I thought this was not the best way to end our holiday and staff could be more helpful.
7.9 Good
Pros: The locations is great
Cons: The front desk staff
4.0 Okay
Pros: Beach is beautiful, the best I've seen so far in Riviera Maya. The hotel and the area around it are quite nice.
Cons: Food at the restaurant was terrible. All four adults in our group got food poisoning during our stay. There was no other place to go to get food, since it's all inclusive, so we had to pick the least suspicious foods. Outdoor bars were constantly short for bar tenders. You'd have to stay in line even to get water. Construction during our stay - the workers came one day to fix exterior painting right above our balcony without any notice. They finished within a day, but didn't even take time to clean their mess on our balcony.
7.1 Good
Pros: The facilities are awesome. Great Beach, Bars, Restaurants, and Pools. Kids had a blast.
Cons: The staff at the front desk and premium desk were horrible. Not friendly and not helpful at all. For such a nice, luxury hotel this is unacceptable. We also experienced unhappy staff at some of the outdoor bars and of all people the girl handing out the towels. If you don't get a dinner reservation which at times is difficult even though the restaurants are never full (funny because you try to book a reservation at a prime time, the staff says they are completely booked), you have to suffer through the awful dinner buffet. The entire management staff at this hotel should be fired or retrained on how to be helpful and polite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The food is really nice in the buffets and themed restaurants. There was alcohol in gel every 50 meters.
Cons: The wifi wasn’t for free, and worked only in some parts inside the Grand Resort.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: It was an excellent vacation overall. So many choices to choose from. You can build your day very easy and relaxing or can get as busy with so many activities as you wish.

Overview Reviews
The Barceló Maya Beach hotel is located in front of one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mexican Caribbean, which stretches 1.2 miles along the Mayan Riviera.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lots of things to do for both adults and kids, excellent food in both buffet and a la carte restaurants.
Cons: Rooms are very tired, bathroom was leaking, TV didn’t work. Be very careful when you take hotel taxi (we asked a Bell boy for a taxi) to Xplore/Xelha/Xcaret: drivers take you to the booth of the “travel agency” instead of the park entrance and sell you a “voucher that can be exchanged for the entrance tickets”. In our case the voucher could not be exchanged for the tickets, and we had to pay entrance fees to Xplore again. So our trip cost 4 of us $800 instead of $400! We reported the driver to the hotel, Barcelo managed to find the driver ... and asked us to deal with the taxi company by ourselves. So beware.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent buffet, nice facilities, very clean resort and friendly staff
Cons: Water area for dophins too small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: this is a great place to take a family at the Thanksgiving time of year the beaches were crystal clear with absolutely no seaweed the food was pretty good not great but good enough and the shows were outstanding the best shows I've seen out of all of my trips down to this part of the world. they have a great little kids club all the pools are super nice we actually somehow I accidentally got the premium package which turned out to be in our favor which gave us free Wi-Fi and upgraded drinks even though we don't drink too much. the check-in and check-out process was super easy and all the staff were exceedingly nice I can't recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back this time of year next year.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Lovely beaches. Nice pools. Friendly bar staff.
Cons: 1. No WiFi except in the awful “mall” - and even there only restricted day time hours. 2. Tedious check-in, not welcoming at all. 3. Needed to pay cash deposit for snorkel mask, not expected to be carrying around cash at an all-inclusive resort. 4. Although my booking was made for myself (one person), it registered as a booking for 2 in the hotel’s system. An enormous amount of fuss was made over this. I understand why it would be an issue if one tried to sneak in 2 for the price of 1, but this was the other way round. 5. The dining room (buffet) staff acted very bossy, felt like a summer camp for adults in there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beaches and pools, wonderful staff, rooms comfortable and clean, drinks delicious.
Cons: Restaurant reservations very difficult to get, even with a premium room, we only got 2 for our 5 night stay and we had 2 premium rooms in our group. Food was plentiful and tasted good at the buffets but sometimes difficult to find what you wanted. Bathrooms in public areas were not as clean as expected compared to cleanliness of other areas.

Overview Reviews
The Barceló Maya Caribe hotel is a gift to your senses. Located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, it has the scent of the Caribbean, the softness of its fine white sands, and a view of a beach of endless beauty.
6.7 Good
Cons: too much noise in the rooms near the bar.
7.7 Good
Pros: Average room. Below average bathroom.
Cons: More servers on the beach would be great. Also room service menu could use some improvement.ee
6.7 Good
Cons: The room didn't have any shelves/ drawers where to put the clothing. You only have hanging space. The fact that they show available watersports is not accurate. There is not enough equipement for the amount of rooms they have. There are actually 5 Barcelo hotels sharing that equipment. You have to stay on line at before the store opens in order to make a reservation. We could not use any of them in the 6 days stay. We were told that the hotel was ordering more... but that is what they always say.
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms were dated and there was musky smell that wouldn't go away. Staff will always say Yes to anything you ask but nothing gets done.
Cons: Rooms were dated . Bathroom was average
5.0 Okay
Pros: When we checked in it took 1.5 hours to fix their mistakes. And they did not take payment so the next day they kocked us out of our room
Cons: Had to make reservations for most resteraunts even though they were half empty. Even whrn we made a reservation we were told they did not have one and could not seet us even though there were over 100 empty seats..... food was mediocre. Humidity so high, interior of jotels are slick w sweat. They have to come squiggy floors every morning so rooms are musty. They do not clean their beaches. Tons of stinky seaweed everywhere during our stay

Pros: All facilities were perfect

Pros: We loved the location. Quiet street and a nice mini beach at the canal! Nice white linen on the beds.
Cons: This is absolutely not a 4 star hotel! On booking.com there are a lot of promises and beautiful pictures but the hotel needs an update, inside and outside! Breakfast is poor, should be included in the ( too high) price.

Pros: Breakfast was great. Location was on a quiet cul-de-sac & about a 15 minute walk to the main restaurants which suited us perfectly
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff, super cute and quiet location. Fairly close (10 min walk or so to restaurants and some stores), but we had a car so didn't need to walk anywhere. Rooms were nice and clean and air conditioning worked like a charm.
Cons: Missing a telephone in the room. At one point could not make a call out of country with my cell and a phone would have helped. Also, a plunger in the room. Had a need for one a few times.

Pros: The service is amazing and I loved every single meal. The rooms are very spacious and I really enjoyed the grounds. The spa is also relaxing.
Cons: The entertainment was fun but not a lot of nightlife activities like dancing or ways to meet other guests here.
