Pros: Really everything was quite nice. The bed was comfortable (firm mattress), the room was clean, the food was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The first night we got there, the room we were given had a roof leak and despite having full capacity that night, they were able to put us in another room immediately.
Cons: The walls were quite thin so we could hear the conversation and the tv next door.
Pros: Room was clean and well apppointed.
Cons: Need a little green buffer between hotel and highway
Pros: Clean; friendly staff; good facility (gym, pool); cookies for the guests; good breakfast offering.
Cons: Everything fine for the business traveler.

Pros: The staff were all very professional and helpful. Room was clean with basic amenities in bathroom.
Breakfast choices were good with protein offerings and not just carbohydrates.
Cons: We have stayed here before and continue to find It is impossible to read the directory for the television, it is printed in a tiny font that defies even the most acute eye exam. We understand the need to conserve paper but this is ridiculous. Understand that this is an issue with Direct TV and the Corporate offices, they need to enlarge the room TV channel directories!
Pros: Generally nice and clean with good breakfast buffet. Check-out was at 12 noon so great for sleeping late, except you could not close the curtains completely (dark ones) and the California sunlight made it too bright for sleep.

Pros: customer service. The jacuzi was hot for the cold night of relaxation
Cons: the carpeted floors are due for a cleaning.
Cons: Front desk staff was very rude. The hotel is cramped, unattractive and right next to a very loud highway. The room smelled like every guest ever had spent all their time chain smoking. On top of all that it was way overpriced.

Pros: Worst experience ever. I had my reservation for a double room. Marriott staff called to cancel on the day of my reservation.
Pros: I had no issues with my stay at the Marriott in salinas. The staff was very friendly, my room was clean and well put together. The spa was amazing and the pool was clean.
Cons: No issues at all. I'm very happy with my experience here.

Cons: We did not have the room that we requested in the reservation. Because of a maintenance issue we were put in 2 separate rooms instead of 1. They did, however, reduce the rate for us.

Cons: It was too pricey.
The toilet didn't function properly - maintenance came to fix - still didn't work. Didn't move us to different room.
The internet didn't work properly either.
It has NO microwave.
Pros: We've stayed at the Laurel in once or twice a year for a few years and thought it was a really good bargain.
Will you just stay there again and it seems like even more of a bargain now as the rooms seem clear, there's no flatscreen TVs set of the old ones, and the food in the breakfast bar is much much better with the addition of sausage and eggs and a very nice woman who makes everyone feel welcome at breakfast
Cons: It was all good but was also nice to have rules that were far away from the freeway; some rooms are kind of close but actually they were soundproof Jennifer not to be too big of an issue. The heater was quite noisy but certainly heated up the room and then we just turn it off for the night. Really everything was pretty comfortable and it was possible to forget that this was a bargain motel because it felt just like a really great motel
Pros: The staff
Cons: The location, no lotion, recycled dated furniture,
Pros: It is a nice clean place. The room was good and comfortable. The breakfast was a good start to the day, not a full breakfast but nice.
Pros: Decent value, clean accomodations. Came up to play golf and have reasonably a priced stay since I wasn't going to be in the room much. Laurel Inn fit the bill.
Cons: Rooms need to be updated. Old tube TVs! Mattresses, bedding are old.
Pros: The location was ideal. It was a sad time as the family was in town to attend a funeral.
Cons: The room needed a microwave and an iron and ironing board. I assumed incorrectly they were in all the rooms.
Pros: Laurel Inn in Salinas is conveniently located just off Hwy 101, about 2 miles from downtown. Rooms are basic but clean, with decent TV, small work table, small fridge. Continental breakfast is fine, although some protein options would be nice. However, there is a Black Bear diner just across the parking lot, plus other restaurants and basic shopping options across the freeway (west) or over on Main Street (about a mile east). There is a small pool, although Salinas tends to be cool. Depending on room location, there can be traffic noise, but not too bad. Staff are friendly, and the price is right.
Cons: Wish the breakfast options were a little better, but there are pastries, fruits, cereal, yoghurt and typical drinks. More substantial options at the local diner or other restaurants. Can be noisy if on the street side. Nothing fancy, but a reasonable place to stay.
Pros: It was so clean!! New mattress. Clean, soft sheets. Plenty of pillows. Bathroom area was large enough for woman with lots if make up and hair stuff. Hot water forever. Nice new tv. Great free breakfast with really good French toast. Just families and couples so there was no drama at all. Very very safe. For around $100. A night for a Kung bed I was very impressed and I tried most of the hotels around salinas- the safe ones at least- and this was by far the best!!
Cons: The manager was rude and snotty. All the other staff was very nice but she had a attitude that ruined a perfect environment. Too bad.
Pros: It was a clean, no frills kind of place. I traveled in September and the rate was $113/night which was a bit high but of better quality than lower cost places. It is very close to freeway access without being close to the freeway noise. The mattress and pillows were clean and comfortable. The breakfast area was clean, and the selection decent. The staff were consistently very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The television was a bit outdated (30" CRT) and the picture was a little dark. I moved from a two queen bed room, which apparently wasn't used much and worth the rate, to a single queen room which was clearly used more and not so much worth the rate. The coffee in the breakfast area was terrible. Only on the last day, when I decided not to have the room maid service, did the front desk complain to me about this. Not sure why, as the room had been serviced the day before, and the maid was very friendly about it when I told her.
Pros: This place was great. Close to freeway and lots of close restaurants and stores. Very clean. Staff was nice. Good selection for the free breakfast. Pool/hot tub were very relaxing. I would def stay again.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast and well-stocked. Enjoyed our stay!
Pros: good bed, quiet, about the same price as other hotels in the vicinity.
Cons: tourist season high prices, but goes with the territory
Laurel Inn Motel is a great choice for a stay in Salinas. Guests can splash around at the outdoor pool or grab a bite to eat at the restaurant. Other highlights include a spa tub and a sauna, and rooms offer refrigerators and free WiFi.
Pros: This was the nicest of this type of hotel we have ever seen. Everything was clean and neat. Bed was very big. Well-themed room decor and furniture and their staff was very friendly! .
Cons: Only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because we wished it was in the normal $40-50 range for the hotel of this class
Pros: It was close to gas and food areas, near freeway. Turns out a little too near for us. We could constantly hear the passers-by. The room was pretty decent for the price. Big bed. Comfy. Gave us a place to rest for the night. Had waffles and yogurt with juice and coffee for breakfast which was nice.
Cons: The pillows sucked. Like i had knots in mine. Had to constantly move to smooth it out. The bathroom walls were kinda dirty. When in there u can see stuff on them. A bit of a turn off :/ Also maybe it was just our location. But we had a lot of foot traffic, what seemed like all night. We were right next to the ice and vending machines. Come 4-5 Am people were filling up their coolers I'm asuming. But the was the wake up time for us. With all the noice we couldnt sleep anymore.
So we had a bit of a restless night :(
Pros: How clean the rooms always are and the staff are very professional! I love that you're near many restaurants and don't have to travel far!

Start the day with complimentary continental breakfast, check email with complimentary wireless Internet access and relax in the outdoor pool. Newly renovated guest rooms include a microwave, refrigerator, desk and flat-screen HDTV and there is no charge for kids 17 and under with an adult in the same room.
Cons: Absolutely ZERO customer service. The staff truly has NO sense of how to take care of their customers. avoid this place at ALL cost, there are many other hotels in the general vicinity, stay elsewhere to avoid a LOT of aggravation!
Pros: Proximity to Monterey and price was reasonable.
Cons: Crib fee was not disclosed prior to check-in date. Lied to by staff on check-in date about crib availability after speaking to someone 7 minutes earlier who had said it was available. Also, my son was lied to during our stay about restroom availability.
Pros: Family enjoyed the pool and the breakfast especially the waffles. Staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed something.Everything we expected at the price we paid.
Pros: Great location Spacious room Polite staff
Cons: Car parking needs more attention. Few parked cars were way out of their guidelines.
Pros: Clean, quiet even though it was near freeway, very nice staff.
Cons: Pricey as they all are this time of year
Glad to stay in Silanas and save hundreds a night over Monterrey discounts - and only 40 minutes away.
Pros: manager was very flexible on meeting needs that he wasn't contracturally obligated to fulfill. He did this late at night and in a crowded hotel. Thank you!
Cons: high room cost
Pros: The beddings smell fresh and clean. My kids enjoyed the experience. Breakfast options were okay. We had a great time!
Cons: The price was a bit high for a 2 star hotel.
Cons: Nothing. I contacted corporate for a refund. There was mold in the tub!
Our room was on the first floor which we didn't think nothing of until 7am when the noise of children running up and down the hallway woke us up. Checkout was at 11 but the maids tried to come in at 8:30 and again at 9:15. No knock, no housekeeping announcement, just them trying to barge into the room. Luckily we had the slide lock in place.
Pros: Parking was easy
Cons: The shower was horrible. No water pressure at all and the water was barely warm when put on all the way hot. The bed was also horrible. Might as well put linens directly on the box springs. Would have been just as comfortable.
Pros: Clean spaces and room.
Cons: Didn't care being put in a handicap room, not a big deal but it was for only one night. The vending machine on lobby level didn't accept dollar bills, that was a little annoying. Waffle batter was too thick so it took long to get it out of the dispenser.

Pros: Nice breakfast. Fridge and microwave in room was great. Mommy traveling with four year old.. Perfect for our stay, went Monterey but didn't have to pay coastal prices. About 30 min inland from Monterey.
Cons: A couple blocks away the neighborhood gets kind of shady.

Cons: I did not like the staff at the hotel's front desk. The woman was extremely rude and unbelievably unprofessional.
Pros: Good breakfast selection, friendly service, bed was decently comfortable.
Cons: Tacky decor, weird egg white rounds and only sausage offered as a protein at breakfast.
We were waked up at 5:00AM by the bath next room. Apparently the guests at next room got up early and had their morning bath, which is OK. But the faucet of that bath generated an extremely load noise. Since the wall is so thin, the noise waked me all. It was literally louder than a chain saw. I think the hotel staff did not fix this problem in time. And the construction quality of that hotel is very low. We tried to call the front desk. But we found that the phone is dead. I checked the connection and found that it is an old problem. I believe that the owner of the hotel is unwilling to fix the existing problems. During our trip we stayed in three comfort inn. The other two are generally nice. This one is totally different.
Pros: The public space looks OK.
Cons: We were waked up at 5:00AM by the bath next room. Apparently the guests at next room got up early and had their morning bath, which is OK. But the faucet of that bath generate an extremely load noise. Since the wall is so thin, the noise waked me all.
Cons: The evening manager has to be the rudest man I have ever spoken to on the phone. I was so shocked by the way he yelled over what I was trying to say that I didn't get his name. I believe he was an Indian man but am not sure. He was poorly trained and rude
Pros: I stayed in Salinas because it was cheaper than Carmel, so my expectations were different. The hotel is in a convenient location, close to all services, it was clean, the front desk lady (Leticia, I think) was very nice & competent. No complaints at all.
Cons: They charged me $15 for extra occupancy without telling me and did not provide extra bed. For what thing they charge me extra ? Staff was very rude. Lights were not working in room. Will avoid going again to same hotel.
Called Priceline to see if it would be possible to change room from King to two queens. Priceline called while I was on the phone, and confirmed this would be ok. When I got to the hotel they were indignant, and did not honor their confirmation. In fact, they repeatedly told me that I should not make reservations through a 3rd party. I was not able to make it to the hotel until 11:00 pm, so I really had no other option but to stay there. After getting in my room, I called Priceline. Unfortunately, Priceline was not helpful either. I repeatedly asked the question, 'How is it fair to me that I went through the exercise to confirm that I could have two queen beds in lieu of one king. Then to have a bait and switch when I got there? All Priceline or the hotel had to do was tell me they could not accommodate my request, and I could have looked for another hotel while I was at home.' All your representative was able to do was recite your disclaimer that it at the hotel's discretion. That response is perfectly acceptable before I make the reservation, but when it is made after, I feel slighted. This is all very unfortunate because the hotel is very nice, but the hotel staff should be reviewed by Priceline. Their comments about not making reservations through a 3rd party were very unprofessional. Especially because I am sure that they receive a lot of business through your agreement with them.
Pros: The hotel itself was very nice.
Cons: The hotel staff. They did not honor their confirmation, and repeatedly told me that I should not make reservations through a 3rd party.
Breakfast was very good.
Pros: The gym was just what I needed. Treadmill, weights, and a stair stepper. Although the room was small it had a cute window seat my teenager girls enjoyed while working on their laptops.
Cons: The room was difficult to move around in. The tv should have been mounted on the wall. The microwave was ancient.

Motel 6 Salinas South - Monterey Area is located off US 101/El Camino Real at Airport Blvd. Visit California's vineyards 3 miles or Marina State Beach 13 miles. Enjoy our seasonal outdoor pool. Wi-Fi is available in all of our modern rooms for a fee.
Pros: The staff was great and the room was sufficient for our needs. It's a great bargain. The wifi was fine, especially considering it was free. The motel is right off the 101 freeway and shares the parking area with Starbucks and a nice, more expensive motel. I was very pleased with my experience and would definitely stay again when in the area.
Cons: I would bring my own shampoo and soap next time. In fact, just bring all of your own toiletries, pillows, comforter, and an ice chest. The motel offers soap and shampoo, but they are small. They do the job, but if you want something fancy, bring your own. It was comfortable, but I would have liked a fluffy comforter and soft towels. I missed having a microwave and refrigerator that you usually get in a more expensive place. Did I want to pay over $100 for these comforts? No. We paid $41 for each night. It was a great price. Just bring your own comfy items and you will have a great experience for an incredibly low price.
Pros: Price & freeway access
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Very dirty. The shower was covered in hair. There were horrible carpet stains. I felt like taking a shower after my stay there....sure didn't want to use the one in my room! The hotel charges a $100 deposit which isn't returned to your account for as long as a week. They offer no receipt for your deposit. This place should be avoided if at all possible.
Pros: The room is what I expected for the price. Everything worked and the room was clean enough. We were gone most of the day so we only were in the room to sleep.
Cons: Our room faced a busy street and traffic noise was easy to hear, but when the a/c was on it covered the noise enough to sleep.
Pros: Coffee in Lobby
Bed to sleep in
Cons: Noise. Room 323 was noisy most of the time. Sounded like one of those wood chipper machines until later in the afternoon. Toilet hardware came undone. Discovered that the shut off valve leaks unless it is in the full open position...feet got wet. Fixed the issue myself and opened the valve to stop water leak. The first staff member I encountered at the front desk did not seem very friendly. The day of check out the new staff member was much better.
Pros: The price and location are fine and near the coast
Cons: I stayed for 3 nights. The staff failed to clean the room or make up the beds any of the days we were there. The hotel staff was contacted but still not done. Very, very poor service and simply unacceptable for any hotel/motel chain.
Cons: I made a mistake booking this hotel. Very dirty hotel... started from the lobby to the room... stinky place...yucks!, customer service is sucks!
Pros: PRICE ONLY
Cons: CARPET DIRTY , DIRTY TOWEL ON THE FLOOR WHEN WE CAME INTO ROOM ,FURNISHINGS LOOK LIKE THEY CAME OUT OF A THRIFT STORE . HAD TO PAY PER DEVICE FOR INTERNET . BUILDING LOOKS GOOD FROM OUTSIDE , HAD TO CHECK INTO HOTEL THRU A WALK UP WINDOW, LOBBY LOCKED WHEN IN THE SAME PARKING LOT HAMPTON INN LOBBY OPEN . YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR .
Pros: location- easy 101 access
restaurants & walmart only short 10 min drive
great price for someone on budget
Cons: WIFI isn't free:-(
non-smoking rooms smell like smoke
only give one towel for room with double beds
linens are old & don't seem clean so bought my own at walmart
phones in rooms don't work
laundry service is expensive $2 wash & $2 dry & no change machine in laundry room & hotel will not provide any change
pool is small & dirty- don't go in
guess you get what you pay for
Pros: Easy to find location. About a mile or two to downtown and old town. Security guards are professional and works all night. Low prices.
The new LG washer and dryer are good with pleasing result. There is a swimming pool. Lots of parking space.
Hot coffee and hot coffee flavoured drinking water is available in the check-in office from 6am to noon, but closed after that. Closest fast food shop and gas stations are to the south about half a mile.
Cons: It's on Work Street which is busy with big trucks. If you are on the west side of the hotel it is very noisy. I was on that side in Room 333 and it was noisy since 7AM. I switched to Room 124 facing south parking lot and it became much quieter.
No fridge in room or office.. TV doesn't has channels in san francisco san jose area.
The worst was the wifi internet. They charge about $4/day. When I needed it and try to pay through the sign on page and could not get past a "incorrect customer code".on that page. It didn't say which line was incorrect. So I had to rely on my T-Mobile phone and the Tmobile signal has only two bars.....
If you are to visit Monterey it is about 20 miles west on highway 68 then highway 1. Kind of hard to walk around.
Cons: requested a non smoking room. The prior occupant must have smoked in the room has the room had a very distinct smell of smoking.
Cons: Mold on walls in bathroom, disgusting carpet, sheets not cleaned
Good Nite Inn in Salinas is the ideal spot for an affordable and cozy stay along the California shoreline, only a short drive away from Monterey Bay. Salinas Inn is a great choice for a stay in Salinas. Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 8 AM and 10 AM. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves, along with balconies or patios and flat-screen TVs.
Cons: The front desk staff was polite and pleasant.
However there is a complete disconnect between housekeeping and the front desk. I arrived at 3:45pm and was assigned two rooms housekeeping reported as ready that were not made up. Ar least four other guests were assigned rooms that were not ready. Also one guest was assigned a room that was still occupied (how could EVER allow that to happen). I did not get a room until 5 pm.
The only way this happens is if management tollerates it. This property needs competent management.
Pros: At least they had security
Pros: The staff were very respectful!
Cons: There were a lot of noise from construction workers that were in the rooms above the room I was staying in. I had to change rooms due to the loud noise that management did not take care of! We also were in a room with bed bugs! NEVER AGAIN!
Motel 6 Salinas North - Monterey Area is just a short drive from California's great beaches and the world-class golfing of Pebble Beach. Restaurants are nearby. Relax in our outdoor pool. Wi-Fi is available in all of our modern rooms for a small fee.
