From the complimentary brunch at Ruth Chris, to the friendliness of the staff, i am impressed everytime i come here.
Everything, but the outdoor smoking areas were in direct sun or behind pool area that had no air.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional. Train noise in the early morning hours outside the hotel and noisy visitors next door and down the hall.
Housekeeping was fast. Location on the river walk was very convenient. The room and bathroom were very small. There was also a very strong scent of perfume that was overwhelming when you walked into the hotel. We noticed it every time we came into the hotel during our stay. It was almost nauseating. Parking was expensive. It was the week of Thanksgiving and the front desk seemed to be severely understaffed.
How close it was to the river walk. The smell on our floor and room size.
Location, easy to find, by riverwalk. Oh, the people working there, OUTSTANDING IN EVERY ASPECT! Nothing, would stay there if the prices were better!
Near Convention Center. Bathroom was not clean.
Hotel had lots of activities planned for families and kids, including egg hunt and wake up call by the Easter bunny. Super friendly staff and very clean. Excellent access to the mall and food court area for those that like different tastes on a budget, but also quick access to very nice restaurants as well. Some of the activities were at the other Marriott across the street
The hotel was great and the staff was nice as well by accommodating you with the services and room. We had a great view and we could just walk downstairs to the river walk. The river walk was close but the places we wanted to go to were further than expected. Overall the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter was great especially since it has a mall right down stairs. I did not like that you had to pay for parking. Your paying a price you would think that that would be included. Also there was no mini fridge in the room for food.
Location and large size rooms Issues with hot water and terribly slow and incompetent valet
Made a special stop at the river walk on our five day trek from Pittsburgh to puerto Vallarta Mexico. Stopped to enjoy the beautiful view and exeperience the river walk. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. Unique with design, very friendly conceierge, and beautiful room layout. Our one and only critique, and rather silly at that, after pulling in with our vehicle and stopping at the front valet, the attendant seemed almost shocked when we said, yes we would like you to park the car, and replied with an almost doubtful "are you sure? Wouldn't you like to hear the prices?" Though I'm sure he was just trying to do his job and avoid later frustration, the tone in which he asked us the question was borderline offensive. Young man if we can afford to stay where we are staying we certainly assure you we can afford to park.
Check In was easy. Hotel room sitting area was actually very comfortable and functional to use, unlike most average hotel suites. Location was great. On the Riverwalk plus just 2 blocks from literally everything. Self parking lots were super close as well, if you don't like waiting for the valet everytime. Hotel desk staff were business friendly, but it did not feel genuine. Which is the opposite of everyone else we met in San Antonio. This was one of the friendliest cities we've encountered!! Also the tub in our room did not drain properly, so you stood in water while you showered and the faucet was loose and spun all the way around.
nice "earthy' atmosphere and location love the suite option very expensive valet parking and no self parking lot poor room service options and other snack options no balconies or windows to open poor ventilation in rooms small pool and hot tub broken
THE staff was very accommodating and very nice. Everything was provided before I would ask for it. Overall, a great experience . Love the old Spanish charm that the hotel is made off. Very charming ambiance. The session that I attended in San Antonio finished every 2230 in the evening. I did not like that the hotel restaurant is close early like around 2200. I wish the restaurant is open 24 hours. I also wish that there is a Starbucks inside the hotel for the convenience of all the hotel guest.
Very clean. Polite, professional staff. Wife enjoyed the spa and the gym is very nice. Good location for visiting all of the tourist spots in san Antonio. No hand rails in the bath tubs/shower. Fell twice getting into and out of the shower. Sides of the tub are very high. Too many children running around the halls unattended, noisy. No frig or micro wave in the room. Onsite food and drink is very expensive. Ice machines are far apart on the floors. no vending machines for late night drinks/snacks. Valet parking is very expensive. View was nothing spectacular because of the trees surrounding the hotel.
Cyn from the front desk and Michael at the concierge desk were fantastic! They helped make my stay amazing!
very clean, great location, friendly staff,
The staff was very friendly and accommodating! The fee for parkig at the hotel was ridiculous, $36 per night.
The suite was great - nice sitting area, spacious bathroom, good bedroom and everything worked perfectly. The hotel's location is directly on a loop of the riverwalk which is good because it puts you right into the attraction, but is not on the main section so it's much quieter and easier to find a dining place. Parking is available across the street from the hotel and the street itself is not as busy as those nearer the Alamo. Parking at the hotel is a ridiculous $36/night and they charged for two parking spots for our two motorcycles even though we actually had both bikes consolidated out of the way in the valet area not even in the parking garage. That was irritating. The hotel staff were polite but very cold and decidedly unfriendly. Don't believe I did anything to be offensive or difficult - I didn't even argue about the parking issue - but all of the desk staff (two in the evening, one in the morning) gave the impression they had much better things to do than speak with me.
The front desk staff was unprepared and it to over 45 minutes to check in
Right on the RiverWalk, Hotel Contessa is luxury meets romance. My sister stay here on spring break and had a wonderful time. The staff was helpful and the city is definitely tourist friendly. Filled with history, charm, and luxury, downtown San Antonio along with the Hotel Contessa were great for our girl's getaway. Although the city is tourist friendly, we did got lost. Also, the Hotel Contessa needs to hire more people on their housekeeping staff. During our stay, housekeeping forgot to clean our room one day. Other than that, things were great.
I got an upgrade to another room and it was awesome there on out
Staff, service, room, and the hospitality was awesome.
My room location was awesome. The view I had for the firework show during New Years Eve was even better. I live and work in the UAE (Dubai). We have some of the best and most world class hotels that anyone can offer. With that said,....my first stop when I landed last week was the Palacio Del Rio. I put my bags on top of the dresser and when I pulled them off,..I found a lot of dust on top of the dresser. I did not make a fuss about it,..but I do know that the places I stay around the globe will not tolerate such a thing. Other than that,..the staff there was extremely polite and helpful. I will def. stay at the Palacio del Rio during my next visit to San Antonio.
The river walk A little expensive for the small room
Nice room right on the riverwalk parking was a big issue and expensive
No free wifi
Staff very helpful, assisted in getting my husband a golf tee time, friendly, patient, good suggestions for things to do, and places to get services. Would have liked spa services available at the hotel.
Seemed to have difficulty getting auto from valet parking. Took 50 minutes one time.
Friendly, helpful and warm staff. Location is excellent, right smack at the river walk. Within walking distance to all main attractions in the city
Stayed there for SA Marathon. Had to get up at 4:30 but could hear loud music outside until 10 PM. Also, AC did not work very well.
The staff was very friendly
Beautiful building, clean rooms, and perfect location Parking fee was a bit high at $25
Loved the service and the friendly staff. Felt like home away from home. Their was dust on the coffee maker. I am a big time coffee drinker. And dust on the cabnet and mirrors, shelfs, bathroom. But not caked on.... Coffee pot needs to be cleaned every day.
Location was great. Staff was friendly. Moderately priced considering its location (heart of downtown). Shower was backing up.
-Rich with history and dedication to preserving it -Location is great!!!!! Easy walk to the Riverwalk, Alamo Plaza and Bonham Exchange -Spacious room -Front desk staff was competent -Room was clean -Valet Car retrieval was quick, about 3 minutes each time -Free continental breakfast -Front desk staff didn't seem welcoming -Price doesn't seem to comparable to room quality, but I think you pay for the location and history -Valet wasn't always readily available to take keys after already checking vehicle in -Parking around or near hotel is difficult and valet is $24/night -Sound traveled heavily from hallway into the room, not sure if it's because we were by the elevator Regardless of this, definitely worth a stay!!!!!
Nice rooms that appear to be recently remodeled. Great full breakfast every morning. Very centrally located close to The Alamo and Riverwalk. Staff are very kind and helpful too. $25 parking charge per night
The hotel is a nice combination of modern and heritage. The location is perfect. Breakfast is far better than most. The rooms are a little tight but due to the age of the hotel this is to be expected. I'd like to see some potatoes at the breakfast.
I loved everything about it! The price was excellent for a Friday night stay in SanAntonio. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room was exactly as described. Great location, very close to Market Square and the River Walk. If I had to pick something I didn't like it would be paying for parking, but that's a given in the area. Our A/C unit was a little loud but it didn't really diminish from our stay.
Ernie's bar right in the hotel - great happy hour, very relaxed bar. good breakfast at the hotel every morning, staff very friendly, rooms nice and clean.
Large room Large room...room felt like an unfurnished apartment. T.V. was off to the left side of the bed all by itself on a desk...so had to lie on my side to watch anything leading to sore neck back and shoulders...horrible. Absolutely ruined my day! Ernie's bar was not open Sat or Sun before 3 pm!? And it was a holiday weekend and opening college football weekend and I had to go to another hotel bar to watch the game..OU V. Houston. I've stayed her for the 2nd and last time.
Location, price, staff
convenient as far as location and accessability to San Antonio "highlights". beautiful, historic. Great staff for the most part. because there was no gym/work out facilities on sight and the pool was out of commission during our stay, Crockett did direct and make it possible for us with a nearby facility/hotel. we noticed when we were going to use a couple of glasses in our room for water/soda...that the "old" glasses were what we had to use and that the liquid from the previous night wasn't even emptied by the housekeeper that day...unfortunate...made us question whether the room was cleaned more than just make the bed...
If you want a little history stay, this place is it. This place is great old school hotel with the oldest bar in town. Has a nice pool and inner garden to chill. Nice helpful staff Rooms were clean and large. The shower could have stronger flow and pool service coming around a bit (there is a phone to place order) but that is not a big deal. Location is perfect - Riverwalk starts right here and Alamo is a cross the street Can't open windows in the room (the old bulding) Shower has weak water flow
We liked the location so much!! Just besides the Alamo, and the hotel is nicely preserved!! You can see the age of the hotel in the rooms! The bathroom was extremely small but usefull. The valet it's on the expensive side!!
The Menger is very historic and literally right across the street from the Alamo. There are lots of things to do that are within easy walking distance that give you the San Antonio experience. The historic nature alone is worth the stay. We didn't get a room in the old, original, historic section. Our room was outdated and in need of renovation.
Location is excellent Beds are quite narrow. Air conditioning went out one night. Thankfully, it was repaired the next day.
Ordered breakfast off the restaurant menu. It was high priced and the portion size was small. 1 breakfast taco with sides was $16!
The historic portion of the hotel is beautiful! Rooms are small, full size bed... but very nice and very clean. I would like to suggest that better quality sheets be used on the bed... sheets were way to big, so they tangled up at your feet. The beds are not the most comfortable to begin with and the sheets only made it worse.
Central Location: Beautiful 150 year old historic hotel, literally across the street from Alamo, Numerous attractions, Riverwalk Mall, Ripley's, Wax Museum, Guinness Records, etc.... Short trolley ride to Historic Market. We used it as base of operations. Bought all-day passes to attractions and walked back to hotel to cool off/swim when needed. Lots of food nearby too. Hotel staff gave great service too. Kids loved all the museum like stuff in the hotel. The bar has a mirror with a bullet hole next to it they say Teddy Roosevelt shot in it on a bet when he was there recruiting his rough riders. Been here several times. It is our 'go to' spot for San Antonio. The parking is very expensive. Thirty dollars per day - but it is expensive in the entire city and you do have unlimited in and out privileges. The hotel is really old so it has a few rough edges. The pool tiling needs a bit of repair, some of the doors stick a bit, the elevators are small, floors are a little uneven and a bit sloped here and there, etc. It has a lot of "character", but I guess refurbishing an old hotel is like restoring an old car, you never quite manage to get all of the rattles out of it.
Historical, legendary hotel - also comfortably contemporary ... Plus, the staff at the front desk was polished and helpful. They made us feel they were serious about our enjoyment of the hotel. Would have liked to have stayed another day to enjoy more of the amenities, such as the Menger Bar and its TR Rough Riders connection. Note: You really need a "none of the above" category for the second question on who was in your party -- none of those definitions fit. This was frustrating and I almost didn't write this review, but decided to submit it by checking "group of friends" even though it's wholly inadequate to describe my party, which was me, my sister, and mother, and my sister's boyfriend.
Beautiful hotel with charm and character. So close to everything and convenient for someone on foot/ for public transport/ for tours. Great pool. People working there were very nice - allowed late check out at 1:00pm. A bit noisy at night - one night it was loud drunk tourists, once it was random construction at restaurant in mall next door, & once the fire alarms went off. I don't think it's the hotel's fault though.
I stay here often and I have tried other places it's so luxurious for the money and the location is in the middle of everything!
San Antonio's 1859 hotel was all it promised. Perfect central location next to the Alamo, and the Menger Hotel itself is rich in history, generously displayed throughout the building. The room itself was just fine, but I am interested mostly in the ambience outside the room (so long as the beds, showers and such are good). We will return. One note of special interest: the maid was a great source of info; cheerful and helpful! The view from the window? - a wall! Next time we will ask for a courtyard or other external, interesting view. Otherwise, all was well.
The hotel's location can't be beat: a block away from the Alamo, a couple blocks away from the convention center, and right next to a shopping mall with a wide variety of restaurants and stores. The staff was very friendly. The room worked for what I needed, but it could have been better. The bathroom was small and was, for some reason, built 6-8 inches higher than the rest of the room. You could hear everything through the walls.
The hotel has a great location on the riverwalk in a quieter area next to the mall. The room we had (handicap) was very large, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby was nice, there was a starbucks in the lobby, and the food at the bar and restaurant were good. This was one of the biggest hotel disappointment I've had in the past. year. I traveled over 200 days in the past year and stayed at quite a few different hotels, so I don't say this lightly. When we first walked into the room (905 handicapped) the bathroom stood out as an eyesore. It was at least 5-10 years past when it should have been renovated. The grout was multiple different colors that made it look like it could be moldy, the wallpaper was peeling from the walls, and there was a general lack of craftmanship in the way it was constructed. The final straw was when I went to take a shower, and the shower head connection was leaking and spraying water in all directions. It wasn't just a loose connection, because I was unable to stop the leak. This is something a guest should never have to deal with at a chain like the Marriott. I asked the front desk to be transferred, but because it was a busy time the only available room was the room below us (805). This bathroom was in slightly better condition, although there were a few cracked and chipped tiles. Although the shower head worked, it was a very low end and cheap looking model. The bigger problem was when my wife tried to take a shower the first night, she was unable to maintain a constant water temperature. It would alternate between cold and very hot. She showed me how red her feet were, and I can only imagine what sort of a problem this could pose to an elderly or handicapped person. The other problem was the terrible tv reception while we were trying to watch the sugar bowl in our room. It would constantly blur or pause, making it nearly impossible to watch the game. Fortunately or unfortunately, the reception on the large tv's at the bar was fine. In summary, this is not the type of property I would expect for a Marriott. For the time around the new year the value wasn't bad (just under 200) however I would have preferred to spend 50% more on a room that looked like it had been renovated in the past 10-20 years. In the past year the only time I have experienced bathrooms in this sort of condition were in $50 rooms in towns with less than 5000 people. Buyer beware.
Location Bathroom was filthy, the food in the restaurant was terrible
The staff was great. The rooms were clean. Even when house keeping forgot to clean our room twice, they sent someone over immediately to clean it up. The breakfast attendants were super friendly, especially Rudy. The breakfast could use better variety of fruit and swich the sausage with ham once in a while. The pool was so cold, I thought icebergs were forming.
- At $230 a night it was a below average hotel.
The coffee was good & it Was convenient to Riverwalk and Alamo. Walking Distance The door was hard to open and close because of the deadbolt. Kept getting stuck. Paper thin walls, you have to pay for parking and the safe in your room also Some of the staff was rude.
Walking distance to alamadome for events. sorry breakfast. slow maintenance. we had a slow drain in the tub and reported it everyday and it still was not fixed when we left.
Overall nice clean hotel for the price That we had to pay $15 daily for parking
Nothing to like here. The internet service in my 5th floor room was poor. Then the crickets moved in. I killed three of them and counted 5 more down the hall from me. While I was at the font desk talking about the lack of Wifi, two very angry women guests came down to check out because of all the bugs. The interior is worn and does not present as clean. There was a puddle of water in the middle of the floor. They offered me a room on the second floor where the Wifi was better but even to my male nose, this room smelled stale. I decided I'd seen enough and many thanks to Kayak for getting me out of this mess and into the Best Western Sunrise Suites (1 block away). Same price range and a high quality hotel. BEWARE THE RED ROACH INN!
Perfect for a night in downtown SA.
Was convenient to Riverwalk and Alamo. Walking Distance. The door was hard to open and close because of the deadbolt. Kept getting stuck. The sink faucet was about to fall off and the hot water barely came out. The sink was free standing and not any room to put anything around it. The shower head was so strong you could hardly stand under it. We were only able to get very few channels on the tv. On the vending machines you could only use a credit or debit card. I thought was inconvenient. We did report this all to the front desk as we left and they said these issues would be fixed. I hope so because it could be a very nice, convenient place to stay.
Walking distance to downtown (riverwalk/Alamo) but its a sketchy area if you are alone. Many homeless and cat callers around. Rooms were modern and looked just like the pictures. Staff was friendly and helpful Sheets were dirty, asked for new ones and we're still dirty. Add on extra charges after initial booking fee, must pay for parking, ADA accessible restroom was constantly wet. Showers must run for ten minutes before water heats up, refrigerator didn't work, roach came out of restroom drain.
Location The bed linen was cover in stains, the walls had stains and what looked like mildew. The shower was disgusting plus the water came out with such force it hurt. The floors were filthy so don't walk around barefoot. Hotel said they underwent an upgrade, but definitely doesn't look like it. Free breakfast is a joke. Will NEVER stay at this hotel again.
Staff was rude. Door was missing the bottom liner so you could hear everyone that walked by.
Everything was good, and it was a surprise. I went in thinking it was a real dive, based on the reviews I read after booking my room. I was there for 3 nights and I cant complain about a single thing, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, staff were really friendly, and it looks to be quite a new motel, or has been recently renovated. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone! Cant say anything bad, it is a 2 star hotel that is more like a 3 star. The rates were not cheap, but seeing as there was a convention in town, it was a whole lot cheaper than nearby hotels. If I had to take a guess, some bad reviewers either got some real bad staff attitude or they expected 4 star service.
Everything is good If you are going to advertise free breakfast then do it
Great location for the money. Very dirty floors. Sheets had to be changed they were filthy. Not a good experience. Front staff w were nice but housekeeping was a joke...
The beds were very comfortable, and the view was great Air conditioner dripped a puddle onto the floor, and 25 bucks a day to park my own car... just to have trees drop berries all over it that stank so bad... then birds eat them and poop all over the car too. I got to drive away angry after a relaxing weekend.
I loved everything but most of all the valet Chris who took such good care of two old women...his mother would be so proud of him. Please if you can tell him Mrs. Whitehead and Mrs. Nall so appreciate all he did for us.
the location 1. the 25usd/day for parking 2. the parking fee announced upon check out only 3. the not very pet-friendly 4. the state of the room
Valet, Joe, was very helpful and friendly.
Staff was incredibly professional and friendly. paid parking
location bathroom door could not be opened or closed completely when sofa bed was pulled out
Clean well laid out rooms with free wifi, comfortable beds and furniture nice decor, great water pressure and wonderful air conditioning! This hotel snuck a $15 a day parking charge BEYOND my room rate, into a unique invoice, automatically charged my credit card, and slid it under my door on the last day of my stay without even consulting me about it. Very unprofessional.
Room itself was spacious. Staff was very friendly and professional. Restroom was very tiny. Door kept rubbing on the toilet. Difficult to exit the restroom/shower when you were inside. And there was a hidden parking fee when you check in. Online it clearly said 'Free Parking'. Will not stay there again.
The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Though it is on the Riverwalk it is not on the main section were all the activity is. There is a bit of a walk to get to the restaurants and shops.
Kind courteous staff. Great complimentary breakfast. Hotel at good location for River Walk which is directly behind it.
the front desk was very welcoming, helpful and fun to interact with. Even remembered my name throughout my 3 day stay. No bags in the ice buckets. Elevator felt rickety and other customers were mentioning it too. Housekeeping wouldn't clean our room first day. Travelmate wasn't feeling well but HK cart was out there in the afternoon. She would only leave us towels
It is a great location, the staff was friendly and responsive, and the 24/7 food/beverage menu is a real plus. The bathroom was TINY and there was no vent fan, so it got very stuffy. Also, having to pay for parking in a surface lot is a little silly. Parking permits are issued at checkin and the lot is by permit only, so charging to park is simply a sneaky add-on.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Was perfect for the price and what we were doing. The noise level from La Villita was very apparent. There was a concert going on, so I am sure it's not always like that. And there were people talking right outside our window that we could hear and we were on the 3rd floor. Parking is now 15/night.
Well maintained and clean. Breakfast was great. No problems or complaints.
loved the ease to get to the convention center and to the main riverwalk area. loved my small fridge in room. perfect for water and other items I brought with me. did NOT like arriving to find out that as of Aug 15 2016 they are now charging $15/night for parking :( They 'say' they have a restaurant on sight. they will serve you a hot flat bread and and a few other items- its not a sit down, waited, on restaurant
We went down for my daughters graduation at Lackland AFB. I found the hotel comfortable and the staff very friendly. Great place to stay, close to the Riverwalk and Alamo, I was pleased with the room and would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.
Stay in this hotel was good.It is conveniently placed. It offered good room and breakfast.Staff was really good and helpful. But the blankets we got were stinking. When contacted to staff they have replaced but the replacement was also of same quality . Even the staff had accepted that it is of poor quality and careful washing is required.
The room was great. Really close location to many attractions and restaurants. Really liked the atmosphere. Staff was excellent and really enjoyed the whole stay. Would definitely stay again.
From the moment of check in with the vallets to the day of check out this hotel was amazing! Called and requested early check in and rooms next to each other for a bachelorette party and Jennifer set it up for me wonderfully! Then the night of our stay front desk Denise was very kind and the whole staff was just amazing! Couldn't have stayed a better place for our festivities! Loved it!
The hotel was extremely roomy and very clean. However it was a little expensive to start. I wanted to check out at 3 pm instead of 12N. I was charged $* for 3 hours a little rediculous. I was spending the weekend with a friend from Fort Sam Houston. She didnt have to be back untill 8:30 so I was gonna let here stay and watch television; give her a break from the whole army thing. That was a whole day charge?!? Umm I am not the best at math but that 8 hours which is 1/3 of a day not a whole day. The hotel was maybe half full it was a monday. Serisouly, they didn't want to work with me and they charged me a higher rate for the 3 hours than the rate I booked through the online travel website. I will never tell anyone to stay at a marriott and I will never stay at another. All the other hotels I stayed at worked around you if they could, not this one!
The room was so much better than an average hotel room with a separate living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath. I felt like I was staying in a small apartment instead of a hotel. We had everything we needed and the hotel staff was exceptional! Everyone was so nice and accomodating! Next door to the Alamo and close enough to walk to the Riverwalk. The free breakfast was out of this world and I must say, I've never stayed in a hotel that offered free happy hour drinks/dinner Monday thru Friday. I hope to visit San Antonio again and if I do, I will definitely stay here. I won't even look around for another hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn in downtown San Antonio. It was very close to the Riverwalk and the main downtown attractions. The room was clean and staff was very friendly. Breakfast buffet was good and had many options. We would revisit this hotel on our next trip to San Antonio.
Although this hotel is in the process of renovations, we had a wonderful stay. Our rooms were immaculate and spacious. The complimentary breakfast buffet was delicious and had something for everyone. The social gatherings in the evenings were unexpected and most enjoyable.
Our trip to San Antonio was in celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversay as a surprise gift from our kids, who made all arrangements including our stay at the Residence Inn - Alamo Plaza. We had the best time; the location was excellent, we found the overall appearance to be well kept and our room very clean...and to top off our wonderful accomodations, the staff at the RI-Alomo Plaza were simply wonderful. Being there for a week, with us coming and going so much throughout each day between site seeing trips, we were able to become acquainted with many of the staff and they were so friendly, helpful and personable; it gave the place a very comfortable home-away-from-home feel. We were so very pleased and appreciative of their wonderful hospitality; we didn't want to leave!
We stayed at this hotel for the San Antonio Marathon in November 2009. We booked it based on the price, the location (near the Riverwalk), and the fact that they had free breakfast. We arrived two days before the marathon to enjoy San Antonio. When we arrived, we were told that breakfast would be served beginning at 4:30 AM the morning of the marathon. What a pleasant surprise since we thought we'd miss breakfast that morning. The breakfast was pretty much the same each morning, but there was a variety of items -- eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, yogurt, bagels, English muffins, cereal, etc... This hotel is just a couple blocks from the Alamo and the Riverwalk. It is about a mile from Market Square, and maybe 1/2 mile from Tower of the Americas and La Villita. It is all within walking distance (even the Alamodome) Our room was quite roomy, including a full size fridge, a small stove, a small dishwasher, a microwave, high speed internet (free), and much more. It was actually a sui...
The hotel was clean and quiet, and the staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast each morning was good.
The Residence Inn Alamo Plaza proved to be an exceptional choice. The convenience of location was complimented by employees that were pleasant, personable and helpful; recognized immediately when checking in and experienced thoughout the week. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening strolls along the riverwalk and the excellent food choices to experience. Our room ( 1 bedroom) was spacious, well kept and quite comfortable to return to after a long day of touring the city and surrounding areas...very interesting and beautiful. Each day kicked off with a great breakfast at the Residence Inn and although we rented a car, several days we hopped on the trolley with stop offs at missions and other points of interest; a great way to tour the city and eliminate the stress of dealing with traffic and parking. A future return trip to San Antonio will absolutely include a stay at this Residence Inn.
I loved the clean room. I am very picky about restrooms being clean and this one was spotless. I loved the bed and pillows, I felt I was sleeping on a cloud. The hotel staff was also very nice and friendly and I would defenitly go back again. Two flat screen T.V. A+
The hotel was very close to the river walk. It was probably only a quarter mile from an entrance. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean. There were plenty of towels. No issues
this hotel had an air of comfort, cleanliness, and fun! We absolutely loved it . Location was the best ever!
Just 2 blocks from the Riverwalk which was great! They have a great pool, Starbucks in the room and wonderful sitting area. We arrived during the day, so received a primo valet parking spot. I wish there were exercise mats in the fitness center, for those of us who do sit-ups.
Location of hotel There was no hot water and no water pressure during the shower, rates were not the ones published on Internet
The closeness to the activities we wanted to participate in
Great location close to the Riverwalk and Alamo, on-site restaurant and bar, very comfortable beds, the room had a separate sitting area with a couch, armchair, and second lcd tv (this was very practical when our 3 year old son was sleeping). No microwave in the room, Air conditioner was rather noisy, had to pay $15 a day extra for parking
Cleanliness of room and friendly staff None
The hotel is nice ...rooms are nice, not huge but it works ...it's 1 block to the trolley stop which is convenient too and there's a nice pool area too. It's a good location for getting around the downtown area and driving to Fiesta Texas and Sea World. The breakfast was okay but not what it's made out to be. Booking.com could not find out reservation. We called the hotel directly and they found it. We also told them we had 5 of us and they suggested we get a roll-away so we thought that would be more comfortable than the sofa bed (Which we thought it had) It turned out to be only a sofa and when we arrived and asked about it, they said they didn't have any - was against fire regulations.
Location good and room facilities very good. Road noise was very bad and would stop me returning on a subsequent visit.
I like the location of the hotel to downtown san antonio.
I liked the distance we had because we could walk to the mall,riverwalk,resturants.ect.And if we was to go back we would maybe stay there again. the only thing I didnt like was that the first night we got there the valet we had was that our vehicle had been parked in a pretty dark place and unsecured we were worried that someone could break in our vehiclewhere it was parked the first night but then our soulution was fixed .then when we got back to our room after we got back at almost 12:00 midnight we had to change rooms because our room stunk and the floor by the a/c was soaked we got some belongings wet our shoes and my sons laptop case got soaked. But they droped our parking fee.
