6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel still open when I make the booking at the beginning of UK lock-down which is important for some travelers to stay. The staffs were quite understanding and supportive even at the least busy time when only several guests stayed and limited eating facilities within the hotel. General room clean service maintained well
Cons: TV is not working and too old which is pretty important during the lock down period for guests to access information. I am not able to watch TV and given the circumstances, I did not ask for anyone to fix this either.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old building incl. spa access Room was ‘upgraded’ seemed a little larger than we booked
Cons: Breakfast is pretty expensive and not included in an already quite pricey room rate
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in stunning location - amazing facilities and great team

Pros: Nice breakfast and comfortable bed
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff were welcoming. Great location to get into Tonbridge Wells easily. The cooked breakfast was delicious, had a huge pot of tea and staff were friendly and helpful. Bed linen was clean. Quiet during the night even though there was a function on, couldn't hear it in the room.
Cons: Room was slightly shabby compared to the photos on the website, for example peeling wallpaper, black marks on walls and tired furniture. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and pillows were quite hard! Didn't have the best night sleep because of this.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s convenient for Tunbridge Wells, is comfortable, has good parking, friendly staff and is reasonably priced. Breakfast is good.
Cons: It needs a bit of updating generally.
7.0 Good
Pros: Rooms are fine but little old. Breakfast not at the expected level. Wi-Fi very very bad.
Cons: Breakfast and Wi-Fi need to be improved to justify the cost of the room and extras.

Cons: N/a
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly, close to town centre, no problem parking close to hotel. The electrician must have had a sense of humour as the light switch on the left of the bed operated the light on the right, and vice versa.
Cons: Internet was awful. There were many times when I lost connection after a few seconds, and it rarely stayed connected for more than 10 minutes. Never had this problem in the last 20 or so hotels in which I have stayed. Storage was minimal with reasonable hanging space but only a small shelf for other clothes. Why not replace the 2 bedside tables with a small chest of drawers.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was spot on Staff were brilliant and the room was very clean Comply bed
Cons: Twin room was on the second floor but it wasn’t really a problem
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff were pleasant and the downstairs area good and handy for shops and sightseeing
Cons: The bathroom was cold and dirty... Only space for 2 cars to park Woken in the middle of the night to doors banging and shouting and again at 6am... Staff uninterested when I mentioned it in the morning... Will not be staying again

Pros: The hotel was very peaceful and relaxing.
Cons: There was nothing we didnt like, but would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room.

Cons: My one recommendation would be to include more shelves or a dresser in the room.
6.0 Good
Pros: It was nice to have a larger than normal room, very airy with a handy desk, etc
Cons: No bath, nice shower etc though.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Room decore was nice
Cons: No inroom facilities, poor menu (excuss as because they are in the middle of town you can go out to reasturants), no cooked breakfeast available, staff helpfulness was poor (was taken to the lift and left to my own devises to find the room)
5.2 Okay
Pros: Good location for where i needed to be.

Pros: Room upgrade upon arrival and very good breakfast
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, in a pleasant bright room. My bedroom was fine and although the view wasn't the best (nor at the price did I expect it) it was open to city views. And the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Only complaint: the hot water at the bathroom sink didn't give a strong flow. Cold water had some force, so not sure why. Shower also fine.

Pros: It's a lovely place, and the room was nice with a comfortable bed and very good bathroom. The restaurant is excellent and there is a good bar and lounges.
Cons: Having to pay £10 to park in the hotel car park
5.0 Okay
Cons: Had to ask to order a drink at dinner, was left for long periods with seeing if i'd finished wanted another drink etc
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms very comfortable, superb shower and bathroom and if I could have got it in my suitcase i would taking the bed home with me
Cons: Only a small gripe, but Bar prices a little high, £17 for a glass of wine and a small bottle of beer.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely which felt more like a boutique hotel room than your standard hotel room. The mattress is amazingly comfortable and makes you feel very rested in the morning. Breakfast is excellent as well and the restaurant very atmospheric with a beautiful view on the garden.
Cons: I didn't like the fact that it wasn't possible to have the light on in the bathroom without the noisy ventilator. As a result I didn't have a bath.

Pros: Very pleasant and helpful staff Very good breakfast Lovely grounds
Cons: Separation of accommodation from reception and communal facilities, with outdoor uphill walking needed. Rooms a little like a hall of residence rooms, although functional and clean.
7.1 Good
Pros: Beautiful grounds that you can walk around, really stunning. Friendly staff. Clean rooms.
Cons: Beautiful house, but the accommodation isn’t within it. Blinds let a lot of light in around the edges so room was bright with sunrise. Rooms OK, not sure they’re worth the price. Stayed on the night of a wedding held at the venue; had drunk people noisily returning to the accommodation blacks & chatting outside until the early hours/banging doors. Woke us up & couldn’t get back to sleep.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly stuff. Easy check in and out. Clean rooms and nice area. Good parking
Cons: Well very small room located in a building that reminded us of a highway motel. We thought somehow to stay in a more luxury building . We were very disappointed and really thought that what would expect us would be what we seen on the photos. We are used to more lluxury rooms for a 4 stats accommodation. Well and the room had like nothing for guest like shower gel or other cosmetical items we are used to find in Hotel rooms usually
8.3 Excellent
Pros: See below, I will not book to stay there again.
Cons: They charged me a £50 deposit, which they have said will be refunded. I did not see any mention of this when booking with booking.com and am really annoyed about this transaction. I won’t stay there again, I feel that this is really poor policy. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Pros: The property is excellent and the staff are brilliant.
Cons: The walk to the bedroom up the hill and a menu that hasn't changed in a while.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent for when I visit the clients in the area and the taxi links are acceptable. The hotel building and grounds are tremendous. The staff are very friendly and helpful too.
Cons: The walk from hotel reception to the accommodation buildings is very steep especially with bags.
7.0 Good
Pros: Last minute booking close to where I needed to be. Did the job however very clean and basics were there, staff were very good food was ok
Cons: Accom and main facilities felt a bit disjointed, room blocks away from main buildings felt very much like barrack blocks

Pros: Very clean. Cosy, once we got the heating going. Vending machine with drinks and chocolates in the communal dining/kitchen area, with complimentary little cakes. Filtered water and bottles to fill available. Lovely hot, powerful shower.
Cons: No mountain view as claimed on the website, but presumed that from knowledge of the area. Very compact, not much space but had everything we needed, and was warm (adjustable) and clean. Would have been nice to have the heating in when we arrived, but warmed up quite quickly. No physical person on reception but available on the phone at all times. Some non-caffeinated/herbal teas woukd be nice.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: "This is a difficult review to write, because I’m unsure whether this hotel was awfully brilliant, or brilliantly awful. It likely warrants the longest review I have ever written on TripAdvisor, so please do bear with me. We decided on a last-minute long weekend away to Tunbridge Wells, for a change of scenery and to preoccupy ourselves from the impending doom of coronavirus hanging so ominously over our nation, as our haphazard Prime Minister blusters his way through the global pandemic with the grace of a one-legged fish. And, you know, we wanted to go somewhere that had a bit of character and some good dining options. So Tunbridge Wells it was. The Russell Hotel was the cheapest hotel on the list; it was also within half a mile from the town centre, had parking, and was one of the most highly-rated places on TripAdvisor. It was a no-brainer. Firstly, the hotel was easy to find and parking was straightforward. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. Startlingly so, in fact – he really went the extra mile by explaining to us how the keys – two punch cards - to the room worked for what seemed like three hours. This was a nice touch; it seems like most people these days don’t or pull out any extra stops to be helpful. In case we became confused or lost track at any point, further extensive instructions were sellotaped to the punch cards, and the attached keyring was the size of a cricket bat so that we couldn’t lose them. So far, so good. The room was conveniently located half a mile down the street in a separate house from the hotel. All too often, rooms in the likes of a Premier Inn or Travel Lodge lack personality. This room wallops you round the head with a massive, shocking dose of distinct personality from the minute you open the door. The personality in question was that of either Ms Havisham, or your 96 year-old Nan – if you opt for the latter, it provides a feeling of comfort and nostalgia.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Easily accessible on foot from station and to all the places I needed to go. For a Victorian Hotel it was looked after, my room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Good quality breakfast cooked to order. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. I’d certainly stay again.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast menu was excellent and therefore good value for money being included in the rate paid. Room was comparable to other hotels I have stayed at. Nelson on reception at arrival could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Cons: Nothing to note
6.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast excellent and chef very accommodating with special requests. Bed exceedingly comfortable. I booked and was expecting a small single room but on arrival I was given e very spacious room in the annexe which even had a small all purpose kitchenette.
Cons: The hot tap on the bathroom basin was turned off so tightly that I could not use it. However as I had both bath, separate shower and aforementioned kitchen sink it was not a problem for one nights stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good hot breakfast served fast

Pros: We enjoyed our stay at the Camden arms hotel and it was perfect for a one night stay for a friends party not too far away. Pros: Very pleased with the room, thank you. the bed was very comfortable and the disabled facilities met entirely with our expectations being clean and spacious. We were also pleased with the fresh fruit and yogurts and cooked breakfast which was served quickly.
Cons: Our only criticism was the approach to the room through the corridor from the main hotel that was being used as a furniture store. It's only a very minor point but you did ask!.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness of Angela and Michael. Breakfast was plentiful, well presented, very tasty and plenty of choice. Parking is fine, on both premises and outside the property. Location was good enough for what we wanted (relaxing few days to do absolutely nothing). You would need a car however to see any sights, a couple of good pub/restaurants near by, we got a cab but would be a hike without transport of some kind. Though only found the The Hare in Langton was open on a Sunday evening for dinner, again transport needed. A lovely few days away. Have been before and would definitely go back!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I liked everything. Angela and Michael have thought of everything and more. With relatives living nearby we have stayed at several hotels. However from now on we would NOT even consider any other accommodation in the Tunbridge Wells.
Cons: Honestly, there is nothing to dislike.

Pros: The evening meal
Cons: The room was very dated, it smelt, the shower was useless, the hotel was nearly empty but I was still next to very noisy people with a flimsy adjoining door, very noisy. It was tin beds when I requested a double
6.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: This is an old hotel, however creaking floors meant that you could hear every movement in corridors and rooms, sloping floor in our room meant that bed sloped to one side. Found socks and rubbish from previous occupant under the bed. Shower temperature hard to (safely) regulate.

Cons: Nothing! Couple of friendly suggestions; although the food was fantastic we thought it would be great to have a lighter lunch menu. Also, a couple of armchairs by the fireplace would be a nice touch.

Pros: We stayed in the 'Rose Room ' . Not having delved into which room we would be allocated ,as this is generally only discovered when you book in , unless you book a specific room ,such as the honeymoon suite, we were wowed when we taken into the courtyard and expected a block of rooms , we were actually shown to one of four or five lodges ? , self contained units with Cedar shingle clad buildings in a fantastic modern garden setting . The Rose Room has a Pyramid ceiling above the bed , with 1000 imitation roses either hanging or attached to the black background , the fixtures and fittings are all novel , quirky and artistic . The bathroom is actually a wet room , which we don't understand as every thing gets wet when you use the shower ! There is also a bath , all of the fittings are high quality and ultra modern . The bar and Restaurant are again full of little eye catching quirky ideas , all very clean with friendly staff . We had breakfast on both mornings , a wide selection of continental and hot food , all locally sourced and particularly the bread fresh from the bakery next door .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quirky comfortable room over a great pub - exceptional breakfast
Cons: The disadvantage of staying at a traditional pub is that it comes with 'locals' - there was a lot of, how shall I put it, ripe... no, offensive language in the bar, very loud, and more or less all evening. I know it's their local pub, and we were just visitors, but we'd have enjoyed our evening more if they'd 'toned it down' a bit... Also, there was only one decent real ale on at the time we were there, which was a shame.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The quirky room, lovely gardens, character pub, friendly staff, excellent food. Highly recommend for a stay in rural Kent.
Cons: The room was very warm and we couldn't quite work out how to turn the radiators down.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bar atmosphere in the evening
Cons: Mirror and hairdryer plug not close together. No shower curtain round bath leading to wet bathroom. Breakfast minimal and poor. No fruit. No bread or toast.

Pros: All good
Cons: Great room

Pros: Breakfast was really good, it is so much better to order and have it cooked than a hot buffet. The morning staff were very pleasant and efficient. Some issues below, However the facilities are excellent and we would still return.
Cons: Trouble was a lack of hot water in the morning meant a quick shower.. When we mentioned it to reception it was obvious we were not the first to mention this.. Showers in pool area were the same. Possibly the most uncomfortable pillow I have ever had too.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at the Camden arms hotel and it was perfect for a one night stay for a friends party not too far away. The room was perfect with a nice comfy bed and the temperature wasn’t too hot for sleeping which a lot of hotel rooms can be. Also couldn’t fault the breakfast with lots of choice of both cereals and hot food. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: Nothing.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleased with the room, thank you. the bed was very comfortable and the disabled facilities met entirely with our expectations being clean and spacious. We were also pleased with the fresh fruit and yogurts and cooked breakfast which was served quickly.
Cons: Our only criticism was the approach to the room through the corridor from the main hotel that was being used as a furniture store. It's only a very minor point but you did ask!.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, in a pleasant bright room. My bedroom was fine and although the view wasn't the best (nor at the price did I expect it) it was open to city views. And the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Only complaint: the hot water at the bathroom sink didn't give a strong flow. Cold water had some force, so not sure why. Shower also fine.

6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel still open when I make the booking at the beginning of UK lock-down which is important for some travelers to stay.
