The Oxford Hotel - Denver - Building
1
9.3 Excellent (1,023 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Oxford Hotel opened its doors in 1891, making it the oldest and most historic of hotels in Denver, Colorado. With guests Theodore Roosevelt, the Dalai Lama, and Hillary Clinton, downtown Denver
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel experience ever. Incredible staff and service, incredible accommodations in a historic building and a perfect location. It was beautiful.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we walked into the lobby, we knew we had picked the right place. Everything about the hotel is intended to insure the comfort and experience for their guests. From the old key and hassle room key to the Victorian period furnishings to the Cruise Room bar, you feel like you are part of another time. The staff was fantastic, the service was 5 star and the custom cocktails and history lesons in the Cruise Room were fantastic. Best location in Downtown. Perfect for first time Denver visitors or anyone looking for the perfect weekend getaway.
Cons: The bed was too high and too firm for my taste and the only chair in the room was not comfortable. It is a hard balance to use period furnishings and keep them comfortable to today's standards I'm sure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unique and interesting building; very friendly staff; gym was amazing; location was unbeatable
5.1 OK
Pros: Location. Staff. Architecture.
Cons: Outage of running water. Street noise from outdated single-pane glass.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The entire experience was a pleasure. The staff was very accommodating, from the desk clerks to the bellmen to the manager. They Upgraded our room to a better view. The bourbon tasting was a nice touch and our breakfast in bed was delicious. Can't wait to return on our next trip to Denver.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the room
Cons: Having to leave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel exudes charm and luxury. It reminded me of the "grand Budapest hotel" where everything was run perfectly. The staff was phenomenal and anticipated needs before we had to say anything. The hotel was extremely well kept and clean, had an amazing bar, and an exceptional lobby where we enjoyed the evening's whisky tasting and a chat. Top notch hotel.
Cons: My only complaint is that we booked a room with a queen bed and not a king.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Loved the ambience of an older hotel remodeled to high standard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great personal attention. Cathy at front desk very professional and caring. Excellent service all around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Oxford Hotel is an example of Denver at it's best. I loved returning, after 20 years, for an overnight stay.
Cons: Apparently, Orbit booked me for two rooms. The Oxford Hotel informed me of your error, and only charged me for one. Thankfully to them, the mistake was corrected .

Pros: Best coffee of any free hotel breakfast! Good breakfast variety. Nice evening snack and cocktail hour.
Cons: Dog friendly hotel, with poop by the front door that the owner did not bother to pick up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You cannot beat the free happy hour with the appetizers that pretty much acted as our dinner and the three free drinks. We between breakfast and that, we didn't spend any money on food during our stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place definitely will stay here next time I return!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Eldora Lodge. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was excellent and the hot tubs were so relaxing. The staff even offered to wash our laundry if we needed and only asked for a tip at the end of our stay. The rooms were always kept clean and the beds were very comfortable.
Cons: The temperature of the water in the shower was hard to regulate. For my companion, who has sensitive skin, this was a big issue. Otherwise no complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place Nice Views
4.5 OK
Pros: It's in kind of a nice location. The room was clean and we had access to the deck from a back door unlike several other rooms. The staff was very nice and welcoming.
Cons: Wifi was terrible. There is no air conditioning in the room so we had to rely on a ceiling fan to keep cool. Didn't really work for us. Nice place but overpriced.

6.3 Good
Pros: The decor
Cons: The inability to get to Room 226 from the lobby without having to carry my suitcases up stairs.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This was THE most friendly, helpful, outgoing group of staff I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with at any hotel, at any price range. Not the fake smiles or overly helpful kind that leaves you feeling a little annoyed, but sincerely ready to help or just talk. Location is excellent in terms of walking around Golden’s restaurants, shops, or over to the School of Mines. Parking is right besides the hotel and free, which is extremely hard to find in Golden. The room was comfortable for two of us in the room, with sufficient space to move around the two queen beds and not feel cramped. Pricing, as with everything in Colorado, seems to be at the upper limit of what’s reasonable, but given that fact it was “Colorado reasonable”.
Cons: While the service was quick, friendly and the facility clean, the food at the hotel restaurant was below average in flavor. Looked good, tasted bland. All quite expensive, as with basically everything in the state.
5.7 OK
Pros: Location is unbeatable, nice breakfast, great dinner, parking garage
Cons: Room / bathroom dirty, outdated, saggy mattress covered w/ a piece of memory foam
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was great. Easy access to downtown Golden. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: The staff person who checked me in seemed uninterested in helping me with a room. It seemed I was wasting his time when I inquired about room availability.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the heart of Golden. Lots of dining areas with distinct vibes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right in the middle of Golden. Great price. Clean
Cons: We were on the west side and the view of the air conditioners and alley were not the best, but there could be worse things to complain about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: King size bed with lots of pillows, balcony with table and chairs, quiet, loved the all the amenities. Complementary coffee and water was great. Loved the shampoo and lotion. Great place to stay. Nice hotel with old time feel, but modern rooms.
Cons: Side door entrance would not lock after entering, allowing anyone to enter without a card key.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was only a few minutes from my conference location and the hotel location is semi-secluded. The bed was very comfortable, and overall the room was well laid out. The entire staff were very courteous and helpful.
Cons: I think the breakfast menu needs to be expanded, and preparation can be improved.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Brand new, modern design, nice lobby area patio & restaurant. Quiet rooms, pretty comfy.
Cons: Saw a few comments referencing The Art as a 5 star in the category of Ritz & Four Seasons... not quite that nice, it's a solid 4 star hotel.
Halcyon - a hotel in Cherry Creek - Denver - Building
9
9.1 Excellent (867 reviews)
Overview Reviews
While the entire hotel is rife with character and soul, our rooms feed the senses richly—a boldly original blend of well-wrought design and welcoming gravitas. Along with stylish simplicity and textured comforts comes a sense you’re in a good friend's home, wonderfully stocked with style and local flavor. Warm light pours from over-sized windows, and onto spaces and surfaces intended for living. From the beckoning bed, to the well-placed sofa, to the cool marbled bath with its brass-is-back details, an artful urban enclave is yours. Keeping it all “at ease,” an infusion of Colorado’s atmospheric charm—natural elements and riffs on the American West add place to the palette and a certain appreciation of your mountainous position.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I thought i checked into an "Alias" themed hotel when i got stuck on the 2nd floor. Apparently the IT guy wasnt paying attention to how elevators use RFID's. Only took 20 min. Just got back from Maui and Chicago. The restaurant Departure is so good here. At check out i slept in, then went and ordered their Best lunch menu items a la carte and got dessert. Then needed to go rent another room. And thats why this Groundhog Day Themed resort you arrive , eat, sleep, repeat, 2 or 3 times and forget your Brothers Wedding. #AdultFail you will enjoy everyone you meet here. Need Dinner going to Halcyon
7.4 Good
Pros: I thought the place was gorgeous and I loved the idea of the gear garage and the hospitality of the snacks and beverages for the guests. Very nice to provide courtesy rides around town.
Cons: To be nitpicky, they should maybe include some instruction cards for things like the coffee maker or the record player. You certainly can figure it out after some time, but might be helpful to have. Comforter was too warm for the summer. Things that were disappointing - door keys kept not working. Balcony door wouldn't lock and once it did, you could not open it. Wanted to borrow the Leica w/ the film they advertised from the gear garage and they couldn't let me use it because they weren't prepared w/ film. It was one of the reasons I booked there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The decor is fabulous, food is delicious and the staff are AMAZING. The location is perfect next to everything but the way this lovely hotel is run stands out amongst even the best 5 star hotels. Stay here and you'll be so glad you did!
Overview Reviews
Stunning $355 million 37-story hotel, featuring 60.600 sq ft of above ground meeting space, and 1,100 beautifully appointed rooms, and full view of the majestic Rocky mountain. Centrally located 30 steps away from the Colorado Convention Center, 1 block off the 16th Street pedestrian mall, and adjacent to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. This is a non-smoking property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, Spacious and very friendly staff front desk was courteous quick and always helpful Had a great Mountain View and the location is excellent easy walk to the 16th St. mall and down to the union station , great eating places all around
Cons: The room was near the elevator and there was some noise
6.5 Good
Pros: I loved the location. It was central to everything. The hotel and rooms were very modern and luxurious.
Cons: They already charge an arm and a leg, but the also charge their own guests to park overnight. It was $35 every night I was there!. Next time I'll stay further, pay less, and still have quality sleep. I can just Uber.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The check in was easy and took about 2 minutes. The hotel store was stocked with anything you at want or need. It was clean! So clean! The rooms, lobby, elevators, restrooms- very clean. Elevators were fast. Parking was a non issue with their parking garage. Center of everything in downtown Denver.
Cons: I only wish the pillows were more comfortable. They were fluffy and looked pretty but as soon as you lay your head on them they fell completely flat. I had to use the decorative pillow from the chair in our room to put behind my pillow so I had at least a little elevation. My husband had to roll his in half to sleep. The only other thing is that there was no microwave in our room so leftovers couldn't be eaten. Not that big of a deal but would've been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was traveling with friends for a Girls Weekend and needed a place to pump and store my milk before and after I checked out. Hyatt did a great job of accompanying me and letting me use a freezer and mother's lounge!
9.4 Excellent
Cons: They charge to use their business center. The shower curtain smelled awful when first checking in. Had to have staff replace. The main light when entering the room would only work sometimes.
4.5 OK
Pros: The people at the desk and coffee shop are incredibly nice.
Cons: The shower isn’t clean and leaked during the entire stay. I ordered room service but the tray was not collected even after I called housekeeping to pick it up. For a luxury hotel it’s not very clean.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the accessible bathroom was roomy and well designed.
Cons: We did not like paying $42 for parking. On the website it says "parking available" but the steep price tag was a shock. This hotel is in downtown Denver so parking is at a premium but I would prefer to know the price up front.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building and location was amazing. Was right next to 16th street and all the shops. Perfect for solo travel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amiable staff, comfy rooms, all around great atmosphere. Awesome city views!
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The room was quiet and clean. Bed was comfortable. The location was convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a good breakfast.
Cons: It sucked that they charge $49 to park and that wasn’t even valet parking. The service at the restaurant was slow and they weren’t particularly attentive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, good price, excellent service and ubication.

The Grand Hyatt Denver is located in the downtown business and entertainment district, three blocks from the Colorado Convention Center. The AAA Four Diamond hotel is within walking distance of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, historic Larimer Square, Coors Field, Lower Downtown (LoDo) and just one block from the Sixteenth Street Pedestrian Mall.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The pool.
Cons: Didn't get the room I reserved, didn't get the late check out I requested month in advance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel representatives were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spotless.
Cons: No coffee when we went down for breakfast. Parked across the street cause parking was expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff great location.
4.8 OK
Cons: I did not like paying $275 for the night and being put in room whose walls adjoin the elevator shafts. Could not sleep at all, elevators whizzing up and down all night long. The room we were in 1606 should not be rented for the same price as other rooms of the same layout. I wanted to take it up with the staff in the morning, but had to leave first thing in the morning due to an unexpected family emergency. Therefore I cannot say if they would have taken $ off our bill or not. I may still try to contact management.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great time with very helpful staff. From the front desk to the valet parking, everyone was very friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: light rail and b cycle is only a block away.
6.5 Good
Pros: Clean
Cons: The day after we checked out, our friends were staying at the hotel. We were supposed to pick them up at a certain time. My phone battery died, they weren't answering their hotel phone (seemed to be broken) but the staff wasn't very accommodating in helping us reach our friends.
6.2 Good
Pros: Great location. Live music in the lobby was lovely. Bell boy staff was very helpful.
Cons: Check-in took nearly 20 minutes because there was one person checking us in and about five people in line. I've never waited so long to get a key to my room. And not a huge deal, but all of the preferences I had indicated in the pre-survey were "no longer available." Door to my room took nearly 30 seconds to close. For safety reasons I would have to stand and watch it close every time I went in and out of my room. Area around the tub wasn't very clean.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Small gym and not hot tub.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great proximity to everything downtown, great service, ambiance, etc.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stay was very enjoyable. Great staff, they were available when needed and very friendly even the valet staff. Being from out of town the hotel was easy to find and close to everything-food, fun, and shopping!
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Clogged drain in the shower

Pros: Bed was very comfortable. All home amenities are available, and well maintained.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great location, hotel was very clean and everything was available in the rooms. I was especially impressed when I overslept and called to ask for an extra hour or two to check out. Denny at the front desk was more than accomodating, which just made my stay. Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: i loved everything about it, the deal was great and the room marvelous, from the moment i walked in the staff made me feel welcomed... wow breakfast simple but enough, drinks in the afternoon again simple but nice- the room was clean, loved the kitchen and separate sitting area..i have to tell you overall i was completely happy which is hard with someone like me.... i had booked something private and it was more expensive it did not compare at all - the location was also incredible easy to get anywhere -
Cons: can't really say i don't have any one thing that i can honestly say i didn't like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely hotel
Cons: I like everything
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fun urban area, clean, love the room b/c it's like a studio apt.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful and luxurious. Very, very clean.
Cons: Nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I had a great room with a little kitchen. Got a pretty good deal when I booked day of stay. Clean, modern, and spacious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean with a friendly, attentive staff. Right near excellent attractions in Denver. Convention center down the street. Walking distance to Coors field. 16th st Ped Mall a block away. Really a great place to stay.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: clean, comfortable, spacious and generally quite quiet, including heat/ac (aside from a noisy on/off relay right next to the bed). Includes both light diffuser and light-block curtains for each window. Energy-efficient lighting generally well placed. Very conveniently located for events at Convention Center. Wider variety of options than expected at breakfast, including fresh fruit. Kitchen is bare-bones but still offers useful way to reheat restaurant leftovers.
Cons: Curiously, kitchen lacked a sponge and dish rack, as if you weren't really supposed to use the kitchenware! Exceedingly difficult to plug provided appliances (like coffeemaker) into child-safe outlets, as if they hadn't been used before. Window shade controls were unlabeled and took a while to figure out (need to press and hold till all shades engage). Overly-bright LEDs on wall outlets and switches.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big room, clean, friendly staff, fantastic amenities, free dinner and breakfast every day - can't go wrong!
Cons: Nothing.
4.0 OK
Pros: Big room
Cons: Staff states one thing and/or does one thing clean, but does/or do something else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location. Right near lots of shopping and near the shuttle bus that moves all the way around down town Denver. We didn't take advantage of the hotel weekly activities but it was nice to have the option of being social in the evenings and getting solid breakfast in the morning. Would love to stay here again in the future.
Cons: The couch in the room was fairly stiff. Restroom door is sliding and doesn't actually lock. Shower also doesn't close, was a standing shower.

Overview Reviews
Hotel Teatro offers 110 custom-furnished Guest Rooms and Guest Suites, as well as extraordinary opportunities for Dining and hosting Meetings or Social Events at our Hotel.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We loved having a balcony.
Cons: The elevators were a bit dated, but it's an older building, so it's somewhat expected.
7.1 Good
Pros: location
Cons: not great value, poor windows, tiny fitness center
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This is our favorite hotel in Denver! Great location, extremely comfortable stay, the staff is wonderful, the hotel is beautiful.
Cons: Our bath-tub and sink were slow to drain, we've stayed here several times and have never had this problem, we notified the front desk.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, wonderful location and very comfortable all around.
Cons: More reasonable food options e.g. continental breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location, staff, overt appearance and cleanliness. The staff went above and beyond when they heard my concerns and righted a poor nights sleep. Thank you.
Cons: Had a king corner room. Ended up on the 2nd floor. Could hear everything outside due to poor window construction. Shower head was comeing out of the ceiling with plaster on the shower floor. Vanity mirror was cheap had lights out and didn't hold a position and was therefore useless.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I loved almost everything about my stay. The room and hotel were beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Room service was incredibly fast, and the food was delicious. I was given a corner room as a surprise and that was very, very cool.
Cons: I only have a couple minor complaints. To start, there were some stains on the carpet and some chipped paint on the walls. The room also had a funny smell, but I figured it was just "old building" smell. My biggest issue was that I wasn't sure if the balcony was supposed to be private or not. It wraps around the whole building, but each balcony is separated by a large potted plant that was easy to step over. I figured that meant "private balcony" so we left our curtains open to enjoy the sunshine, and I happened to be undressed when the guests from the next room over stepped over the plant and walked across our balcony to look around the corner. It was very embarrassing. Either the hotel should have let us know that our balconies aren't exactly private, or they should put up barriers that you can't just walk over. Another small issue, they only gave us decaf coffee in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was amazing and very helpful. We were in town for a Broncos game and a hotel car was able to take us there. However we were able to walk because location wasn't too far. We used car for another trip but this place has such a location we were able to walk most of downtown. I hope kayak has deals for them again because we would love to come back!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Hotel concierge and door men were very pleasant very positive attitudes!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Doesn't act like a penny-pinching hotel. Offers free wireless, free shuttle within two miles, complimentary breakfast. Great place. Quiet rooms.

Cons: My family was told it would be 20 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up at the Denver airport but after many calls and failed attempts to get anyone to answer the phone and then to call the corporate reservation office to have the call disconnected, we finally flagged a bus down at the airport. We waited 1hour and 45 min at the airport. Then the driver was very rude and told us he was never told to pick us up. Then when finally arriving at the hotel and asked for an explanation, the staff stated that he was told and he continued to be rude as he was standing there behind the counter. Very unreliable shuttle service and the phone system was unreliable to speak with front desk staff or to get the front desk to answer.

Pros: Great guest service. Checked us in early even though they didn't have too. Clean spacious room. Kids loved the warm pool. And breakfast was good. The lady working it even made my kids snack bags for our day out exploring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a good quality hotel. Don't expect anything fancy. Everything worked and the shuttle service was good.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay if you need quick access to DIA for a flight. The rooms are big and clean, and the staff is friendly.

The Crawford Hotel, the newest among hotels in downtown Denver is now open. Truly like nothing Colorado has seen before, The Crawford effortlessly combines the historic elements of Union Station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is inside Union Station and the entire facility was recently renovated, so everything is brand new and very well done. There are excellent dining options within Union Station and within walking distance. The room wasn't large, but arranged in a way that made it feel cozy, not cramped. The historic preservation and modern updates were very well done.

Cons: Extremely helpful hotel staffs, very friendly people, room is clean, bathroom is amazing, love the Union Station lobby, and complimentary Tessa ride in the city. Will come back and stay with Crawford again!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great location with easy walk and free buses around lower downtown. Hotel was lively and seemed a focal point for the area. Large sidewalk fountain outside for little kids (I didn't have mine with me).
Cons: Staff seemed a little stiff and geared toward yuppies, but this place is a yuppie's dream. They were very helpful, but enjoyed reminding me that they helped me with an early checkin, like they anticipated me fighting over the bill... just odd.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Great rooms.
Cons: Valet service didnt perform well. Called for car..no answer. Then front desk clerk gave them our room # instead of ticket # and they didnt have car ready.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the location. Never had been to Denver. Being at this grand hotel made the trip worth my time there. Lots of activities and walking distance to everything. Really felt like being in a microcosm of New York less the hustle-bustle. Restaurants at the Union Station were superb. Security was at every corner. I wasn't sure that was because of the crime or just to deter it. But as a woman at night alone, I felt extremely safe walking around exploring.
Cons: Being a smoker, there really wasn't well established designated smoking areas so I got harassed a few times. But they were friendly and pointed me to a direction to smoke. Needless to say, I didn't smoke much. That was good.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: BEAUTIFUL, QUIET ROOMS. NICE SELECTION OF PLACES TO EAT AND DRINK. COOL IPAD WITH ALARM CLOCK AND FREE INTERNET AND ROOM SERVICE,ETC.
Cons: THE ACTUAL LOBBY/CHECK IN DESK WAS OUT OF THE WAY AND VERY SMALL. MAKES IT A BIT DIFFICULT TO "MEET IN THE LOBBY" WHEN JOINING FRIENDS. VALET OR EXPENSIVE GARAGE PARKING ARE THE ONLY REAL OPTIONS AS THE METERS ARE ONLY 30 MIN OR 120 MIN AND GO UNTIL MIDNIGHT AND START AT 6AM.

Pros: The fitness center was very clean and had excellent machines to use (I was very fond of the treadmills). We enjoyed the bar near the lobby especially the very knowledgeable and friendly bartender Jack. The location was additionally perfect for all our needs and the staff was able to accommodate us with a late checkout.

Pros: Remote Location. Dinner and breakfast was good and healthy options. Bathrooms were clean. Hots springs great.
Cons: When I woke up on the morning it was -2 deg. Stayed in a yurt. If its freezing with snow I recomend booking a room. Yurt had heaters so we stayed warm fully dressed with 4 blankets. Snow all over plywood floor. Its glorified camping.
