Cons: One night receptionist was a bit unfriendly on this trip, but that was an isolated incident. The rest of the staff are truly wonderful.

Cons: The room was situated next to a very busy stairway outside the hotel so could not open curtains in room as there was no privacy. The bathroom was extremely small and most uncomfortable to be in.

Cons: They dont let you book a breakfast included deal online. Also they take a seperate hefty deposit from your credit card which after 4 days still hasnt been returned in my case. The deposit is over $600.

Pros: We loved everything about this hotel. Centrally located in Zurich, 3 minute walk to the lake, 5 minute walk to the main shopping street. Easy access walking distance to everything in Zurich city centre and the old town area. We had the loft suite, the room was huge, very large bedroom with great bed at access to the balcony with ran the length of the bedroom and living area which also had access to the balcony. We did not use the balcony area as we visited in November but it was nice to pop out and get a bit of fresh air. The best part of this room was our "bathroom" area. We had a sauna, (yes in our bathroom!!) a changing room with a sink from where we could then step into the shower on the other side of this room, then through to the jacuzzi bath, then onto the double sink area (huge amount of space for toiletries and make-up area and finally the toilet. All staff were amazing, extremely friendly and welcoming, (especially Xhevdet Musliu at the front office). Fantastic staff at reception, the bar and breakfast areas. Breakfast was delicious every morning, loved the omelettes!!

Cons: I booked this online thinking it was a budget hotel, considering the price. Receptionist didn't greet us with a smile nor he was being rude or anything but room is already booked and we're checking in at 6pm so I guess he thought no need to be nice.
Surprise came next morning. While we were checking out he asked 49chf and I was shocked as for why. It was for the breakfast we ate. Now, nobody told us anything about breakfast not being included and its hotels around this price range you would assume it is. I was really furious about it coz only salami yogurt and coffee at 22chf per person breakfast wow l. What a rip off!
What annoyed us the most is that receptionist guy didn't give any info about absolutely anything but when it comes to collect money.... I even had to ask about the Internet connection, he said 'written on the paper', the stuff that he gave us with the room key.

The front desk woman gave us a bigger room without even asking, and the breakfast buffet is quite good for Europe. The shower is narrow, they pack in as much as they can for the space, but everything was good and stocked and clean. They did the two separate duvets for the bed, but that is a Europe thing we have seen before. I would have liked more pillows, but they could have been in the closet and I just did not look as t had been a long day and we were tired. Again, great value! Very friendly front desk!

Pros: The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The front desk was able to help me with questions about the city and transit system.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't very elaborate and, more importantly, the cleaning crew decided to barge in while I was still in bed at 8:30, which seems quite early to start cleaning. I opted to skip future cleanings in order to avoid that awkwardness again.

Pros: The value is great for Zurich. It’s maybe a 5 -7 minute walk from the main train station. The front desk woman gave us a bigger room without even asking, and the breakfast buffet is quite good for Europe. The shower is narrow, they pack in as much as they can for the space, but everything was good and stocked and clean. They did the two separate duvets for the bed, but that is a Europe thing we have seen before. I would have liked more pillows, but they could have been in the closet and I just did not look as t had been a long day and we were tired. Again, great value! Very friendly front desk!

Cons: I am always frustrated when hotels make claims about their 'green credentials' and then don't live up to them. Despite leaflets in the room stating 'It's Easy to be Green', upon check in to my room I discovered that the heating was on max, making the temperature unbearable. Presumably the system had been pumping out heat all day. Other members in the party experienced the same issue and had raised complaints. I appreciate that during winter months, hotels need to ensure that rooms are kept warm, but this is a well-insulated, modern hotel and this was a totally unnecessary measure. There was also the standard array of miniature toiletries in the bathroom. Surely we're beyond that now? I wouldn't class myself as an eco warrior but it really bugs me when large corporates do nothing more than tick a box by printing leaflets telling everyone how great they are and then failing to live up to their own standards.

Pros: I am an spg gold member and decided to use the gold elite crossover program at the marriott this year, to be honest the gold membership at marriott accounts fpor a lot more than it does at any of the spg hotels. we got an instant upgrade to a high floor "suite-ish" all windows corner room with a magnificent view of the lake, the lounge access guaranteed a full continental breakfast (think hot scrambled eggs, baked beans, breakfast potatoes and a lot lot more not just some cold apps that I usually get at the spg lounges) and full hot dinner - not just some snacks that spg hotels serve. to top it all vegetarian options at every turn. the hospitality was amazing at every step. I definitely recommend this hotel five star service!

Cons: When we arrived to the hotel The receptionist told us that she was going to give us an upgrade (we were happy becuase we weren’t asking for it) so she send us tomroom 3707 ( the smallest room at the hotel, specially for singles). My wife and I were upset about the size, so next morning we went to the front desk and met Joao Reies, great professional who inmediatly changed our room to the one we were expecting it. Thanks to him we had a great night. We want to thank Joao for his actitud and friendly listening to us..

Cons: The cleaning stuff took my mobile charger and swiss chocolates. However the management offered compensation and apologise. I accepted their approach but not compensations. However I recommend the hotel for location.

The beds are none standard so a queen bed is two smaller ones next to each other. They must have used some cardboard to connect two smaller mattresses because the bed was so uncomfortable I slept 0 hours the first night. They will tell you they are out of mattress toppers. If you keep asking they will bring you a tinny one that doesn’t fit the mattress but it’s the best they can do...
They give you two single bnlankets for your queen bed. These things are so small that I couldn’t sleep with them. Nothing more romantic than sharing a queen bed but your partner is shivering under her own tinny blanket. When we asked for a queen blanket, we were told the hotel is fully booked and they don’t have any more... so they don’t stock enough bedding for all their beds...
Anyways I could tell you how my complaints lead to a duvet less blanket from the storage room that was so yellow and dirty and still not queen sized but I will skip that story...
DONT pay for the breakfast. Just ask to take a look before you commit. Mush of eggs were watery and the cheese and meat looked like they had been sitting out for days (8am). I have no idea how they get away with this overpriced breakfast.
So atmosphere sucks, food is bad, comfort is horrid, and the staff never asked if I needed anything or apologized for selling a queen room with amenities of a single room.

Cons: No Indian food.No Housekeeping services.Just to serve some crockery in room they asked CHF 5 but when it was collected from restaurant,no cost. Surprised as an Indian hotel practices was shocked.

Cons: The air conditioner was not working correctly. We had to move to another room to feel better. The hotel employee who came to see the problem, claimed that it was due to having four people in the room, ridiculous, but at least he was complacent in moving us to another room , which was much better.

Pros: Location was fine - easy enough to get to Central Zurich, and close to both a tram stop and a train station. The ability to check out simply by dropping your keycard off was convenient.
Cons: Swimming pool was closed (18 Nov - 9 December, so this was a major closure). Very noisy drilling ongoing as part of renovation works from 8.30am - 6.30pm, including Saturday morning - lie-ins and daytime naps impossible which is important when travelling with a young family. Neither of this was communicated to us when we booked. When we tried to complain, front desk told us to talk to the manager, who was only available during office hours which is when we were out. We left a message with our complaint, and this was ignored.
