What could have been better is the shuttle. When I called they said it would be up to 10 minutes which is fine but 20 minutes later with an additional person calling for the shuttle again it still took 20 minutes out in the cold. I called a 2nd time and they said it could be up to another 10 minutes (making it a total of 30 minutes) . Luckily it showed up 2 minutes later. I live local so if I didnt leave my job early I would have never made the 1130 closing time with how the shuttle was. Staff was nice and friendly though.Reviewed 21 Jan 2026

Ace confirmed at kayak booking aap unlimited mileage and no border crossing fee. At pickup they offered 200kms a day and asked for border crossing fee. Guy at the reception was rude and unprofessional. It was a terrible experience and waste of time.Reviewed 17 Jan 2026

Ace had competitive prices for our 12 day trip. However I was perturbed that although we reserved a large SUV, when we arrived at the airport counter we learned the company had given away our car and canceled our reservation. It was late at night and we had been traveling for 10 hrs. The agent was unapologetic. He stated that we would have to rebook with walk up pricing. They didn’t have any large SUVs and the smaller ones he offered wouldn’t fit our family and luggage, so we ended up with a minivan for double the price of our original booking. The minivan had uncomfortable racing seats and my husband elected to sit in the back. The car beeped way too often and unnecessarily, when parking or changing lanes; its sensitivity was way too high. It was a negative experience and I will not be using Ace again.Reviewed 3 Jan 2026

The rental car price was great but upon arriving at the rental counter, the staff wanted proof of my auto insurance. It took me about 10 minutes to locate a copy of my policy on my smartphone. Once it was provided, the clerk said “you need to purchase Collision insurance from us”. I told him I never have purchased additional insurance from rental car companies in over 30 years of renting cars. He tried explaining that my policy was insufficient and that I had to buy theirs. I started to argue advising that I have full coverage with my insurance. He finally agreed to rent the car at the price that I was quoted without having to pay for extra insurance. This appears to be a newer scam to get people to pay more.Reviewed 12 Dec 2025

Not good. I had 1.5 hours to wait in line to make my appointment. After an hour 3 people had been serviced and 6 were in front of me. I had to get an Uber. The appointment was the main purpose of my reservation and flight in from Minnesota. The lady working the counter mentioned a couple people had called in sick that were scheduled. Landed at the airport in Maui and went to the shuttle pick up. Our name was on the pick up list but "it wasn't highlighted" therefore the driver wasn't "allowed" to drive us to the office for our car. Come to find out it's because ACE gave away our car, despite having a reservation. This left us stranded at 445pm and scrambling to find a rental car. They gave away their last vehicle around 9am too and at no point decided to email, text or call me to at least let me know so I could find other accommodations. They wouldn’t honour my reservation unless I bought their insurance which was more than the rental cost even though I was fully covered by both my travel credit card and my personal car insurance. I had to go next door to budget to avoid getting scammed. No problems at budget. ACE is just a scam . I would avoid if possibleReviewed 4 Nov 2025

We rented in Las Vegas and they are off site...as in a shuttle to a another shuttle. It looked sketchy. Like what were we getting into. Mainly the problem was NV has a new law as of Oct 2025 requiring a certain amount of liability insurance. Fine, but who brings their auto insurance card with them on vacation? We didn't plan on renting a car and at no point do any of the apps warn or tell you, that you may want to bring your car insurance information with you or up your amounts prior if renting in NV. They wanted to charge $50 a day on top of my rental rate. The guy next to me had his state minimums and they were not high enough so he had to pay the $50 and he wasn't prepared for that. These companies need to do better to warn us but they won't. Just a big money grab in a state that already nickel and dimes you to death. Also the line and process were sooo long and slow. One of the CS reps was so chatty and actually pulled out his phone to talk about his hike to red rocks. Like SIR, there at 15 people in line here. Also why am I paying $65 for the extra insurance coverage when I made the reservation, then you want to charge me more? Why are you asking me tons of questions when I answered those on the app. Like what is that information for if you are going to ask me again in person and no I don't want to pay more for an upgrade. When you leave you get hounded by the show sales people. The walk around and photos of every inch of the car. Come on take a video, I haven't had that with any other company in years. The return was the easiest and fastest part. Next time I will use a regular name brand rental company. Not their fault about the new law but still an email or test message advising of this prior would have been nice and given me time to contact my insurance company to email me.Reviewed 4 Nov 2025
