Wasn’t able to get my rental online when I tried to pick it up because I was told in person I had to be 25 and up to be able to buy a rental car and pick it up but when I did it online, I put 21 years old as I am that age, and even my birthday. The transaction went through and took my money out but if I had to be 25 and up to even rent the car then online it should be fixed properly saying error or not even allow me to purchase it if I had to be a certain age it was just alot of struggle trying to do it and went all the way to the airport to pick it up at the spot when it’s far from my houseReviewed 3 Aug 2025

This is not Economy Rent a Car, it’s Jet Car Rental. They misrepresent themselves as a reputable brand when really it’s an independent location and there is only 1. Also, they advertise unlimited KM but then tell you it’s capped at 1400 km and each additional Km is $0.30, plus 35% tax. They make you pay for insurance no matter if you have insurance or not, so be prepared for $5-$12 a day for that. And they take a $1000 deposit which I was not informed about. A whole busload of ppl arrived on their shuttle together late in the evening from flights across Canada. Many flights were from 1 to 3 hours late. I watched them tell one after another that they have no reservation, it was cancelled because they arrived late. Some were so upset they were in tears. My reservation was good still being only 1 hour late. They are not at the airport so the travellers denied cars are now stranded outside the airport. Poor customer service. Many customers called the reservation line to inform them about their flight delays. There was no communication to the people working that night. No sympathy, and no attempt to help them. I was required to take $12 day insurance on top of my credit card insurance because I was unable to provide proof I had personal umbrella insurance. I have never encountered this and believe it was super shady and I felt bullied by staff there. It was after hours and providing proof was impossible, they knew they could squeeze their customers and they did. I was super annoyed, along with other people in line at pick up but my booking was prepaid so what was I supposed to do. They wouldn’t even let me provide proof the next morning. They have hidden fees (they charge $11.95 a day mandatory insurance and rely on fine print in their contract, when the contract clearly says the price includes all mandatory fees). I booked my car on your website I had selected insurance in case of damage at the first $500 When I arrived to pick up the car, the queue was huge We waited more than 1 hour to recover the car I was then told that the insurance had been removed during the payment Suprise, it is then that the man at the counter mantionne me that I must take the insurance on the spot The rental should have cost me $ 360 and I left Économrent with a bill of $ 560 almost double mentioned on your site! I had to pay a $1,000 deposit that was mentioned nowhere before I was at the counter I had to increase my credit limit to be able to leave with the voirture I do not recommend anyone to do business with this site Very disappointing!Reviewed 11 Jul 2024

Worst experience I have ever had with a rental company. Additional insurance cost at pickup that matches the cost of the rental. Unsafe vehicles bad windshield wipers tires brakes transmissions, prolific damage scatches etc. Extremely poor cleanliness inside the vehicle. They also quickly spray down each vehicle before use as if to have provided a clean vehicle. So many red flags so extreme beware!Reviewed 11 Jul 2024
