Close to local amenities. Bed gave me an awful backache the following day.
The room was clean and had the appearance of being resently renovated. The on-suite was good and the shower/bath everything we could wish for. We only used the dinning room for breakfast but the dinner menu was very appetising and the dinning room was very busy all day on sunday. Fire door part way down corridor tended to close with a bang, causing some disturbance during the night. The room needed a chair or two as sitting on the bed was not particularly comfortable.
loads of parking the bar/seating area ,too few seats available.
The size of the room was great, as were the staff. The room was not ready for us, the bed was not made and the room not vaccumed. The shower wouldn't work.
Small box room with only a skylight, which smelt of stale cigarettes and mould. Hotel was also very noisy.
Food was of a "pub" standard - good, filling but expensive for what it was. Beds were comfortable Big, bleak, barren - very few other guests - dined alone with only one other family group on a Friday night. Limited menu although well cooked. Bedroom although large with high ceilings had only one tiny framed print on the walls, cobwebs on the chandelier, black mould around the bath. Very worn carpeting throughout the hotel. Very dated throughout.
efficient booking in and olut tables too low to eat in the bar
Was all genrally good.
no hot water
The room was comfortable and the staff friendly. TV only had 3 channels working. I went for breakfast at 7.00am and ordered a cooked breakfast immediately. At 7.40 I was still waiting for my food to come, as was everyone else. In the end I had to leave without anything to eat.Unfortunately I had already paid my Hotel bill whilst waiting for my breakfast.
I have to say the breakfast was as good as anywhere I have stayed and gets full marks
Very friendly staff who worked at making sure your stay was an enjoyable experience.Surprisingly pet friendly. Most days wedding held! That is the speciality but still ok
We attended a wedding at the hotel and it was very good for that
The hotel is in a relatively remote location and yet it has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff were all very friendly. Food though expensive and of the nouvelle cuisine style, was beautifully presented, absolutely delicious and surprisingly filling. This is the second time I have stayed here and I would emphatically recommend it. I was on business and opted for it because it was one of very few hotels in the area. It was definitely a world away from my normal accommodation, and all the better for that. My room as on the previous occasion, was sumptuous, beautiful elegant modern bathroom with a bath and a separate shower big enough for two people to share. Large comfy double bed. It is quite easy to get lost trying to find the place even with Sat Nav. Bit it is well worth the effort. In fact be warned that the Sat Nav and indeed the road signs tend to take you on an unnecessarily circuitous route in order to make sure you arrive at the hotel via a very long drive. There is a much shorter route into the hotel from the A96 which I think is probably reserved for deliveries.
Location, food, staff, lovely and quiet The tiny room with it's view of the kitchen extraction flue (an executive room...). The hotel credit card charge was a blast from the past - an unwelcome one.
It was not over renovated. Seemed to be an authentic castle with a few frayed carpets and paint work required here and there. Good room service menu. Good breakfast. Check out was painfully slow (45 minutes) and the bills were wrong.
Old mansion house in lovely countryside. Open log fires in lounge and dining room created a relaxing ambience. Friendly staff. Felt dinner at £35 was overpriced for the standard of the food compared to other hotels at similar standard and price.
Food very good Service, especially pre-dinner, poor.
congenial staff no
Pittodrie House is located in a very impressive scenery. The house is well maintained and the information provided on the website is accurate. Meals were excellent.
The spa was excellent, the manageress was very efficient , friendly and helpfull. The superior room was excellent but let down by the lack of anywhere to hang clothes. We enjoyed the hotel but we had in fact booked for twol nights and the night before we stayed I was informed that due to some problem a room would not be available, we were offered a rooom and another hotel many miles away but this was of no use to us. I was told that they would offer us one of their superior rooms for the Saturday night and offered a bottle of wine to compensate, I suggested champagne and the girl said ok. On arrival at the hotel we found the receptionist to be not particularly friendly and not very welcoming. In the room we found a bottle of cava instead of champagne, I spoke to the manageress about this and she changed it for us, she in fact was very pleasant and helpfull unlike the fairly surly receptionist.
The wedding was at 2 and they would not let us check in time to get ready for the wedding. I asked you for the wedding rate and you did not reply therefore we had to pay substantially more than everyone else. You could have replied to my message to you on our booking
excellent leisure facilities, lovely setting the staff did seem under pressure
Friendly staff and good service Room was poor. Noisy, no remote for tv, dodgy light switch.
Peaceful location, great staff Poor communication between bar and restaurant. The barman was gone half the time just hand-carrying an order over to the kitchen. Why not put in a computer terminal for order entries, or even just a phone in the bar?
Banqueting food at the Wedding was fine even if service was poor, such as white wine unchilled, staff seemed inexperienced. The Manger tried hard but he has an uphill struggle ! It needs a lot of upgrading to be worthy of stars and price. Housekeeping was very poor, stairwells were a disgrace.Buffet breakfast for wedding guests was stone cold even if quality of food was good it was spoilt.
Excellent value dinner and beautiful surroundings. towels did not smell particularly fresh Information about the menu and cost of the dinner was hard to get.
lovely surroundings rooms tired. health club tired and the place generally is a bit run down
Our room was very spacious breakfast was poor: late in arriving and cold when it did
Very Quiet and Comfortable. Nice spacious rooms. Modern and Clean
Very clean and modern rooms with excellent food.
Good, friendly staff. Good food and comfortable room. We were awoken at 3.45am on our final morning. Someone was running up and down corridors, banging on doors. The handle of our room was rattled at least three times. We rang the night porter so the incident is on record.
a very relaxing, but efficiently run hotel. food in the grill room was worthy of its rating. will return if and when my business schedule permits
Staff very friendly and helpful
This hotel is almost excellent, and compared to others in the Aberdeen area is a bargain, well equipped, comfortable, overall Meal service could be slightly better, a laundry bag and tissues in the room would be nice, I also thought that the breakfast could have been better, difficult to find.
I liked the food very much, the staff were friendly and helpful the rooms were clean . Location.
Comfort of the room and the quality of the food. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Friendly staff..grate food and in good location. The room was very clean.
A new and well appointed hotel. Very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent food. Not one of the best locations.
At a reasonable cost you get a welcoming hotel with friendly staff, good location and decent food..
Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with helpful staff and good food.
Friendly staff. Good service. A nice and comfortable hotel, nicely situated for walks along the coast.
The welcome, the informality, friendliness. Very comfortable and good breakfast. Nothing.
The staff were very friendly, the rooms generous in size, the food in the restaurant was good.
The restaurant with its panoramic view. Room was massive.
our room was very dark not enough lighting
There was a dripping noise from the wall everytime the heating started so it woke me up 3 times through the night but when I complained I got no reaction from your assiatant on reception.I Do not stay at a hotel to be awoken from my sleep 3 times in the night.
when asked to change room staff couldn't have been more helpful cleanliness of rooms could have been better, staining on sheets. Could do with new decor.
The hotel felt a little run down and could do with some modernising.
Views Service in restaurant was appauling - we waited 15 minutes for menus and were told they were all being used. Then told that cooks were off and the food was worst I've ever eaten in a hotel.
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast The breeze block corridors and small bedroom doors were reminiscent of HM Prison Peterhead. It was a long way from reception to the room and there did not appear to be a lift. OK for the able-bodied,
We only stayed there because there was a wedding - there's not a lot of good to say about the hotel Breakfast food was cleared up at 10.10 a.m. on a Sunday. Rooms are very poor - our room had a leak under the bathroom sink.
over all ok maid came into room while we were having breakfast and started to strip room, and left door wide open also the window was wide open when all our valueables were still in room(9.00am) booking out is not until 11.00am
Bed was comfortable, large room & generally quiet at night Rooms are beginning to look tired and in need of a makeover, i dont think they have been decorated for over 8 years.
It was very central for a overnight stay for a family wedding.
We used this hotel as a base camp while we visited our familes. The cooked breakfast wasn,t good. we woke up one morning and could smell cigarette smoke in our room
Was only in hotel from 19.00 till 7.45 next morning
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Car parking is limited. The public/bar area was noisy, but I expect functions are a major part of the hotel's business.
The reception staff were very helpfull, While I was on busines my wife explored the town. The lady on the desk provided maps and directions, even phoning her husband for advice on areas she wanted to visit.
Pleasant, friendly staff and comfortable accommodation centrally situated with good parking Whilst the room was fine the black mould in the shower was something that should be dealt with.
I liked everything , pity we were only there one night , would certainly go back
I felt immediately relaxed on arrival and throughout. None.
we liked that it was central... and our evening meal was good (huge portion!) it was dirty at the entrance, people standing there, smoking... not a good look... and it's a little 'old and tired' in its decor...
