The New Hampton Inn Freeport is by far the best value for lodging in the Freeport market. The Beds are remarkably comfortable and the Staff was so helpful. I will certainly stay here for all my future travels to Freeport and even Galena, Illinois.
We stayed at the newly remodeled Hampton when we had to return to Freeport after moving away shortly before. We've also stayed in many hotels and I must say I was impressed with what we have right in my old town. The beds are excellent, the service was friendly, the rooms were large, clean, and comfortable. Wi-fi, extensive breakfast, and warm cookies.\n\nI would definitely recommend it, and plan to stay there on all our return trips.
This was the best hotel stay I have ever had. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were immaculate.
Property is beautiful and the rooms are as comfortable as what I would expect at my house. I would recommend this property over and over again.
This converted Historic Hotel to Hampton Inn by Hilton is the nicest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at. Brand New and very large rooms and exercise facilities.
My little family and I came to visit grammy and grandpa and we stayed here. Not only did the treat us like royalty but the service offers something lacking in most places..consistancy and ethics.
This is by far the best hotel in Freeport, IL -- located downtown, which needs an overhaul; But this recently renovated hotel is a very good start.....
The Hampton Inn, Freeport, IL is an excellent lodging choice for visitors to Freeport or the Stephenson County area in IL. Of the other hotels/motels I researched, this one was the most recently renovated with the best amenities, but a bit higher priced for the area. But, if you'd rather pay more for a real hotel that isn't just off the interstate in motel-type option, consider this your best option. BUILDING: The Hampton resides in one of the tallest, older buildings in downtown Freeport. Each of the 12 floors actually has only 8-14 rooms depending on the style of rooms.
My wife and I traveled to Freeport to go hiking and had a wonderful weekend. This hotel is brand new and the bed was so comfortable we almost stated in and watched movies instead of hiking!\n\nThe staff was very friendly and the hotel was immaculately clean. \n\nI would recommend to everyone.
We were pleasantly surprised to find such a wonderful hotel in Freeport. It is a redeveloped Historic Hotel. As a result, the rooms are over-sized and have the most comfortable bed we have slept in. My biggest pet peeve about hotels is cleanliness and this hotel was immaculately clean. I would recommend to anyone
the room on the first floor. Much more comfortable than the first room we were given.. Breakfasts. The management quickly gave us a different room when we complained. The first room we were given was handicapped accessible. The heat lamp in the bath room didn't work correctly. It was on for 30 seconds and then off for 30 seconds. The shower was arranged so that there was no way to keep the floor dry. The shower head was supposed to be removable for accessability but totally came apart in my husband's hands. There was not enough shampoo for 2 people. The manager called before we really got settled in the room to ask if everything was all right. We have never had that happen before. I think she knew there were problems with that room before she gave it to us.
Nothing it was the worst stay I every had, should warning people they are remodeling and at limit it one floor at a time. The bathroom tile would move when you step on it I had 3 rooms for my family the first room 213 smell like poop, next room 217 smell like urine 215 the heater quit working. We were not told the swimming pool was not available. The hallway smell like paint and there was paper falling off wall, b

My wife and I were very disappointed with this hotel. From the time we walked in we were less than impressed. The hotel smelled of stale cigarette smoke and the cleanliness of the hotel was nowhere near that of the other 2.5 star hotels in Freeport, IL. The front desk staffer was on their personal cell phone, and did not end the call. They just set the phone down and as soon I signed the paperwork they resumed their convo, before we even walked away. Hotel was dirty, smelled of smoke, uncomfortable bed.
Dirty bedspread. Not clean.
The gentleman that helped me when I could not get the key to work. He switched the room and I did not have any problems after that. Very informative of the area it really helped make my trip more pleasant
There were large gaps around the door so that sound from hallways came through. Location
location beds hard . electric outlets no covers , hair dryer was burned and broke open electric shock we had double beds 4 adults 1 bath towel 2 wash cloths. never saw staff very noisey at nite lots of cig. smoke no pool no hot tube NO ADVANCE CONSTUCTION
A basic hotel, but it totally fit my needs - it's quiet, clean, and efficient.
The wifi did not work, even for Outlook and simple web browsing. My TV worked fine but the paper-thin walls allowed me to hear what my next door neighbor and the guest below were also watching. There is no way this matched the star level. My room had a corner light that didn't actually have a bulb, the tableside lamp only had one of the two bulbs actually installed. There were holes in bed covers, stains on the carpet and chairs. Cont'd above
Relatively clean. Could have been cleaner.
