My flight was delayed and when I arrived, they could not find my reservation. They offered to rent me a car for the same period of time for $360 while my reservation was only $115. I refused the offer and went to costco.com to book a car to pick up 20 min after that for $156 with Budget. Never again with this company.Reviewed 7 Oct 2024

They didn’t have the vehicle we booked. We went to the first lot at the airport but realized we had to take a cab to a different hertz dealer. Then they didn’t have the correct vehicle. They were going to send us to a third hertz, but we ended up settling for a different vehicle.Reviewed 3 Aug 2024

My rental was not at the expected location. When I searched in Kayak, I searched for car rentals near the San Diego airport. Apparently there is a small municipal airport near the border with Tijuana and there is a Hertz car rental location there which came up in my search. Since I would not have expected this type of option to come up in my search parameters, I did not think there was a need to check the address of the rental location. A mistake I will never make again. However, I also will never be using Kayak or Hertz again. I will not be using Hertz mainly because the person at the rental counter in the actual San Diego airport location was not willing to help me other than to indicate that I was at the wrong location and that I should go to that other location if I would like my rental car.Reviewed 8 Jul 2024

I put in San Diego Airport and it listed this place half an hour away, at a different little airport right next to the border. They were unprofessional and the agent was apathetic. Our flight was delayed a few hours and she said our reservation was cancelled because they only keep it for an hour after the pickup time you put on the reservation. I have never heard of that before anywhere else! So, they charged me about $70 more than the reservation I had set up!Reviewed 6 Jun 2024

Terrible experience overall. Stay far away from this place for many reasons: 1. Car rental facility is far from San Diego (on the border with Mexico), 2. Staff does not speak English. 3. No flexibility with rental terms. 4). Unreliable cars. Ours broke down the second to last day, with less than 50 total miles driven. Car had to be towed back. Never received so much as an apology (again, the language barrier), let alone an offer to remunerate for the giant fiasco that was this rental experience. They had no cars I had to take an electric car it felt like it was bait and switch. I’ve never used an electric vehicle and no one showed me how to do it. Frustrating and had to go the charging station 3x the first two times apparently I wasn’t doing it right. Had to ask someone else who was at the station how to do it.Reviewed 26 Dec 2023
