The car wasn’t well maintained. It had a “Perform TPMS reset” and “Maintenance Required” warnings immediately at pickup. The left rear tire was leaking and I had to pay a tire shop to fix it. The Maintenance Required light never went away because the car is probably overdue for an oil change. They also put aftermarket floor mats in the car and didn’t anchor them in any way, and the driver’s mat kept bunching up under the clutch and brake pedals, which is really dangerous, so I removed it.Reviewed 30 Jun 2026

Overall the rental experience was good. Fuel mileage was very good 27 mpg. Getting in and out was not an easy task on the drivers side. AC workers great. The issues that bothered me was gear selector method just like to know who thought this idea up. Terrible design. The car I reserved had flat tires - they up charged me for the next available vehicle. That vehicle smelled like smoke inside as if someone had been smoking heavily in it and it wasn’t cleaned. That vehicle also had problems with the air pressure in the tires as well as the key being alerted with a low battery. It felt like all the vehicles there had some problem. They also charged me for fuel reserve when I didn’t ask for that, and I had to call Hertz corporate to have them remove it after I saw my bill. I felt like they tried to slip that in without me noticing. Definitely one of my worst experience is renting cars, and I’ve rented a lot of cars.Reviewed 29 Jun 2026

The individual that initiated the contract when I picked up the truck was awesome, efficient and polite. Unfortunately, after driving the truck for 1 hour, the engine light came on. We called where we had picked up the truck and they didn't quite know what to do and we called a Hertz rental where we were headed and they didn't quite know what to do. We were told they would call us back as soon as they got a hold of someone who knew. No one ever called. It was very frustrating and upsetting. When I took the truck back and told them no one really seemed to care. Thank God, after a while, the engine light did not come on anymore. When we returned the truck and informed the manager of Hertz Rental she seemed nonchalant and just said that shouldn't have happened because it only has a little over 3,000 miles on it.
