Pros (+) It was a really clean and nice hotel. It was at a great location near the beach. Was able to walk to everything. Got a free upgrade when I checked in. Would go back again!

Pros (+) Free breakfast - omelette lady was fantastic (great personality / fast / great cook).
Cons (-) Hotel is very dated, smells heavily of artificial air freshener, way overpriced (I used 50,000 Marriott points - same as the Ritz on the beach in Santa Barbara?!) - unfortunately the entire area is this way - high demand / low supply of rooms so lots of lousy accommodations for high prices. Expect to pay $500+ for a decent room (not here).

Cons (-) Room needs to be renovated. Carpet and furniture are tired and don’t feel clean. Bathroom is old and mediocre. Ventilation is poor. Disappointed overall in quality of room.

Cons (-) We only had a single night stay and arrived earlier than the checking time. We were told to hang around for a bit for our room to be ready which just so happened to be 6 hours later. Then we walk into our room to sheets that had stains on them. And let’s not forget parking 3 blocks away and constantly having to walk back and forth to the car and back to avoid paying the $25 valet. Overall the hote...

Pros (+) The location was perfect for visiting Monterey. Centrally located next to the Historic Park and Wharf area. Staff was friendly and efficient.
