Easy access off the M6. Good quality food.
Service from staff
Noisy radiator in room woke me during sleep and could not be switched off. No hot water whatsoever in sink or shower
The staff were friendly and the rooms were extremely quiet with no noise from the corridor, neighbouring rooms or the motorway not far from the hotel. The only bad point was the e-mail I received from the hotel before we arrived which had information on the hotel and area. Unfortunately when looking for things to do in the area nothing actually comes up.
Very nicely furnished and everywhere very clean and staff very professional Shower took a while to get hot ie 20 mins on sunday morning but when it was hot it was lovely.
Excellent value, cleanliness and comfort of rooms and friendliness of staff in reception and restaurant. There was absolutely nothing that either we or our guests in the other room could find fault with during our stay.
The pleasant manner in which all the staff went about their business from the reception to the restarant and bedroom maids. There was absolutely nothing that could be faulted. We have stayed at all the "top" hotels in London and your service was at least as good as any of them.
late times for check out, late food, late bar.
facilities, cleanliness and friendly staff. room well appointed The cleaner knocking at the door at 08.20 to see if she could clean the room on our leaving day - I wasn't even dressed!
Staff was very helpful and pleasent. We were upgraded to executive room just becuase there was wedding reception going on and hotel staff wanted us to avoid all the noise. That was good gesture. Food was aslo good which we ordered in room.
2 out of 3reception staff very helpful. Kitchen staff for breakfast very good. Leisure club reception very good. No special rates for groups . I have a team of 12 people working on the door step of this hotel and we are all getting different rates. Some are getting £49 per night including breakfast others are paying £67. Those with the higher rates and tired bedrooms have moved out to the premier inn which has better parking and restaurant.
convenient location, freindly staff my room was not clean and extremely hot
The Staff at the Leisure Club were very helpful. The Hotel room we were given had some serious problems with the radiator pipes which resulted in noisy vibrations which were so loud it was impossible to sleep in the room. We were allocated a new room however customer service was found to be lacking as no one would answer the phone at reception and when we went down in person we were just given another key with no offer of an apology, assistance in moving rooms or a refund.
This is my 3rd week at the hotel and it is very busy ,very conveniet to motorway and work. The new wing of thehotel is nice and I have had 2 very positive stays. This weekwas a relative nightmare with very basic and tired looking room. Reception staff quite lazy this week so no recognition of regular clientelle or help with getting cheaper options for wifi/breakfast so ended up getting worse service and very inferior rooms. There are other hotels nearby which offer better quality so I would suggest the hotel looks at better rates for repeat customers. I have had sixof my team staying at the hotel We dont get group rates or any special discounts. No sign of investment being made in the bar area . Very basis restaurant menu. Not suitable for people like me with restricted dietary needs (halal). I have had to call for deliveries from outside suppliers.
Convenient location for Liverpool,Manchester,Chester and touring the area, good local pubs nearby especially Ring O Bells. Good leisure facilities. Evening meal in restaurent was poor.
Staff were friendly and helpful and the place was clean and tidy although the room was warm and i was pleased i stayed on a cold autumn night and not a hot summer one.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff (in particular the housekeeper). Good breakfast selection. Generally well run Toilet flush inadequate. Windows difficult to close (it was open when we arrived and I had to go outside to close it (room 165)) jacuzzi and poolside shower not operational on the Sunday
Gym ok Poor heating - room heater on timer that didn't come on in evening and v cold. Rooms and décor very tired Room v basic and functional.
Close to Daresbury Labs - anonymous Poor service in the bar. Very mediocre Caesar salad, white wine not sufficiently chilled. Cold fried eggs at breakfast - bacon etc all a bit greasy.
Very good service No walk-in shower
the location was excellant. the quite luxury of the lounges . Food was very good and service from waitresses was first class.A very enjoyable stay. some more local information ie.history etc of the hotel and abbey as reading matter in the public rooms.
No real bad points although the window could do with a clean as it wasnt very pleasant looking out but didnt really affect my overall experience.
Friendly efficient staff and a comfortable room. Good breakfast choice. Room was too hot. Bathroom look tired - grouting and sealant could do with a dose of bleach to remove disclouring and mould.
health and fitness facilities, clean room bar and restaurant area were bland
Clean and friendly. Cost of the bar drinks.
We liked the near location of the shopping center and to Tesco, since there were some things we needed to purchase before the christening. The rooms were clean and we had hoped to get more use of the rooms. We did not like the fact that we had arrived at 8 a.m. drove from the airport and had asked to have the rooms available at 9 a.m. However when we arrived, we were told that the rooms weren't ready, we had to wait until nearly 10, then the twin room ws not a twin, just a double bed. We had to ask to get a twin as it was booked that way, Again a wait and they were moved to the next floor up, not adjacent to our room.
helpful staff, central location, relaxed atmosphere
Liked the parking facility, the dining room and the general appearance of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
After complaining to reception staff about the night staff found their attitude to be quite flippant. I wasn't offered any form of reimbursment or even a token of apology.
Well located to take in Liverpool & Manchester surrounds, great value for money.
Very frendly staff
The hotel was close to the shops and the room was very spacious. There was hair in the bed and House Keeping walked in on us, whilst asleep, before we had time to check out.
staff very good. nothing was a chore for them
Excellent value - very clean - good location No bad points
Good rooms, clean and tidy. Courteous staff. Could do with more heating in this bad weather! Cold during the night.
The hotel was well located for my purposes, staff were unobtrusive, room was clean with a good bathroom. Tip: ensure you get a room away from the main road. The cooked breakfast buffet set me up nicely for the day. Do not drink the coffee at breakfast, it's only distantly related to the real thing.
From check in through to check out on the sunday the staff throughout the hotel were very freindly and helpfull and I have booked a further weekend break 08/08/2008 keep up the good work
Very helpful and friendly staff, very clean, smart-looking rooms. No refrigerator or air conditioning.
Only 2 days old everything new staff very helpful
The room was very warm and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was more than enough too last until lunch time The television had no sky or freeview channels
Hotel was everything that I would expect from Ramada. Excellent I currently stay in a former Ramada Encore hotel in Walsall with the same excellent facilities and self service breakfast at no extra cost. The only bad point would be the extra charge for breakfast.
ease of access from major roads network. Cleanliness
It was noisy. Noise in the pipes and noise from disco downstairs, we were on the lst floor at the back
It was convenient for our visit to family and an event in the town. Bedside tables are impractical. The poor design made it quite dangerous to stand hot drinks on.
The hotel was smart and the rooms modern. Staff were generally helpful and the overall feel of the place was friendly. In the morning there was difficulty accommodating everyone for breakfast and we had to wait over 20 minutes to be shown to a table - I was told that this is a regular occurrence so beware if you've got an appointment to keep at a weekend! (Also, bizarrely, the invoice online and the printed copy said the cost was £59 but my card bill showed £61...couldn't quite work this one out!)
The staff were very helpful, food great, lots to do and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Lack of info about their facilities. The hotel room didn't have any info saying what time breakfast was served or what time checkout was. This would have been useful. They also have a good gym and pool apparently but I couldn't find any info about it in the room.
the room design, cleanliness staff can be more friendly
the food was nice and the whole of the room the staff werent very friendly or approchable, or offer us more drinks
Location to station Being charged to use credit card, Cold foo both at breakfast and dinner Broken fittings in room particularly bathroom
Quick check-in, good location close to town, good facilities Parking limited, limited Sky channels
Excellent hotel , very modern and in a great location . Can be a little noisy at night time but dont let that put you off
Bar and restaurant service was poor
The leisure facilities
Front desk staff were excellent The coffee for breakfast and the separate coffee bar were uniformally terrible. Training as a barrista would help them get a decent coffee out of what is a good espresso machine.
The staff are always friendly. On this visit the e mail from booking.com hadn't come through the whole time i was there.
We were able to stay in a good hotel with our dogs. No
Good location and very nice looking Gym was very small Food was priced high for the quality
My only negative was that my reservation hadnt been passed from booking.com to the hotel. The hotel did however honour the booking and the rate.
The gardens outside outdated interior in the room; non functioning heating
convenience having to wait over 1 hour to check into room
service at breakfast - slow, forgot orders, dirty cups, dirty cutlery, jam pot smeared with dried ketchup, tray where jams etc stood on table was dirty - think honey , poor selection fruit, evening meal in lounge our first choices were not available, and starter was sent out with homous instead of guacamole as they had run out of that also. Bathroom smelt of old urine. Room was noisey from a TV next door / interconnecting door which was not turned off until 2am - hotel staff did not want to enter room to turn it off as guest was out so they moved my room at 00.30. charged us for full cooked breakfast instead of continental on both mornings. Also larger coach party was staying at the hotel all of whom were up at 6am making alot of noise in corridor this wasn't a problem as also had an early start but would of recommended trying to seperate coach party guests and other guests if they have got an early departure. My collegue was also woken by people on motor bikes outside her room in the early hours. and her bathroom smelt of drains on the 2nd day
its closeness to major motorways the lack of facilities , i.e pool , spa , gym , its seems to be more aimed at the business person rather than the more relaxing stay for couples , I was there with my girlfriend from Scotland and felt that it wasnt the romantic place i thought it was going to be , so on that point alone i would say that were are fairly disapointed with our stay there .
Comfortable, clean, friendly and helpful staff, excellent value None
The easy and straightforward breakfast-time with plenty of papers and selection of foods. The hotel had a party booking the same night as I stayed there. Having driven for some time prior to arrival I was tired and looking forward to a restful night but was kept awake past 1.30 in the morning by the loud music (and I was on the 3rd floor.) Also, the evening meals provided were by room service-only because (in the words of the receptionist) the restaurant wasn't available. Hence, this is why I rated the comfort level during my stay as 'poor'.
Very nice, clean hotel. Easy to find. Arrived after midnight and staff were still friendly.
Friendly staff and nice lounge. Very clean. Within a short taxi drive of bars and restaurants and twenty minutes from Manchester by train. Would happily recommend.
the colour scheme of the room and the bathroom beds could of had better pillows and more tv channels on the tv
The comfort and efficiency of staff to respond to queries and they all seemed very cheery. Nothing
location good very clean no
Clean In an industrial estate
The hotel could do a lot more to cater for guests who smoke. They should also ensure that all the advertised facilities are available and alert guests on arrival if there are issues around the provision of certain services.
Modern, friendly, quiet rooms Internet access. Far too expensive in this modern world
The location. Close to motorway but with a peacefull environment. Long wait for dinner but we had not reserved a table in the restaurant. With hind site we would have opted for a bar meal. Would this have quicker service?
Good service in the lounch. God service in the reception. The room was tidy. The chairs in the restaurans was dirty. The carpets in the hallway falling off. The breakfast was not redy at 6.30 and we where in a hurry.
all fine except rooms dreadfully hot
comfortable bedroom. Was offered 2 hours free wi-fi, which was a reason for choosing the hotel. But it wasn't working.
Staff were amenable to changing my room 3 times. First two rooms offered very dark and then very noisy next to air con unit. room 3 lovely. Breakfast ok but would prefer free range egg!
Gym Room was hot when I arrived
convienance Food was pricey
I found the hotel spacious, comfortable, clean and the staff professional and friendly. Food was to a good standard. Plenty of car parking spaces close to the hotel, which makes life easier.
The staff were great, it was my daughters birthday and they made a fuss of her and she loved it. It was so clean and relaxing, I would love to go again. everything was perfect
The leisure facilities mainly the pool area I visisted many times. Genearlly enjoyed my stay and the people who were working at the hotel were friendly and efficient. I would return wiothout hesitation.
Excellent attentive service from friendly staff, especially around bar and restaurant. Although under pressure, especially at breakfast time, the staff kept their sense of humor throughout.
I liked the location and the facilities. we stayed as part of a wedding party and thoroughly enjoyed everything the bathroom in our bedroom was ready for refurbishment, but it was fine.
That all staff spoke to you politely even when merely passing on the stairs.
The staff were very supportive. I needed some special consideration for a guest I had invited. A very sick lady. I was able to entertain her in a private room thanks to your team. In particular a young lass called Megan. It was her innovation that made this happen. You have an excellent team at this hotel.
the spa facilities and the lake behind the hotel
We were parents of the groom and we were delighted with the venue, the wedding breakfast, the attitude and helpfulness of the staff and the facilities Kilhey Court has to offer. Rooms are a little tired looking but clean and well equipped. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the bar in the evening was understaffed and it was said that the 20 minute wait to buy a drink was unacceptable.
every one was very helpful.
ful breakfast came without mushrooms
Quietness no room phone
Decent sized room and comfortable bed Wifi facilities in room were too expensive
Good value for money. I stayed for one night. It is quiet and peaceful. A bit far from Wigan. If I was staying for more than one night it won't be cost effective to use a taxi every time you leave the hotel. If you have a car it is never a problem!
Comfortable beds, very friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms could do with some updating.
Proximity to my family was my No 1 priority. VFM and comfort also helped.
Friendly duty manager Breakfast disappointing. Noisy until after midnight.
nothing unhelpful staff , dirty rooms , overpriced
Room was located by lifts which was a little noisy
The hotel room we stayed in was old and tired, the breakfast was a very poor offering.
Location of hotel for shopping and visiting family Good value for money Staff very helpful Price of bar drinks seems high and food was not value for money, No vegetables with meeal, sausage & mash was exactly that!!!! Why no veg
Clean, comfortable. Handy for town centre. Not easy to find and in a fairly unappealing location - poor lighting and condition of footpaths around hotel. Be careful if out walking!
Thay have now upgraded the Hotel and is much better as I stey here 2/3 times a year.
Vrry relaxed N/A
Friendly staff Dont like fag burns in carpets and smelly soft furnishings.
Close to centre of town Sunday morning staff were sitting on food counters and picking at food. I could not believe it.
relaxed atmosphere, quiet, easy access to local and regional ammenities paying extra for breakfast, the price of these rooms should have been inclusive
Excellent facilities for disabled people. Lack of staff, we had to wait for 1hour 15minutes for a drink and when we ordered food we had to wait 1hour 10minutes for it to be served and it came only after we complained. Some other diners sent their food back ,two other guests told us not to stay as the service was appalling. I had to go to reception to ask for a barman to serve us after dinner coffee and we had to wait almost 25 minutes. Not acceptable and we did make a formal complaint.
It was value for money with the rooms and staff excellent a good location with sports facilities very close by. On arrival at 17:00hrs the breakfast tray from the previous guest was still outside the room.
Modern room, flat screen TV, nice carpetting. Cold, too modern reception area, large uninspiring cold empty feel to the `restaraunt`. Food was very poor. No atmosphere at all.
Good points were very pleasant hotel with excellent facilities
Exceptionally clean and cracking value for money. Not easy to walk to.
very friendly staff, nice modern room, great rates. peoples food tray left for most of the day and night at there bedroom doors.
Everything was at hand with great immaculate leisure facilities.Lift was great
The restaurant was awful. We waited 1.75 hours to get food, even though there were only a few people in the restaurant. I ordered Lancashire hotpot and got a few pieces of boiled broccoli with a small fried steak and 3 tiny thin strips of potato on top. This was not a hotpot of any kind. It was awful and we decided not even to attempt breakfast the next morning. All the guests in the restaurant were comparing notes and complaining.
only had to stay one night, thank goodness. complaint on site had no effect, are you interested or not??????? bad drains and cold breakfast???? the bleach I was given by housekeeping had no effect, luckily I did not get any on my clothes!
Location rather souless. A bit like motorway services, you would not want to go outside the hotel for a walk.
this was a very good hotel, easy to find and a good central location that met all our needs. The breakfast was great and being able to sit outside with our morning tea on the canal side was a real bonus. The bar staff on the evening was also very helpful. The only slight problem was on our departure, when paying the bill it was different to the amount quoted but this problem was soon resolved with again very pleasant reception staff.
the gym and pool no
I thought the staff were superb. Very helpful and approachable, they really are a credit to the hotel and made a lovely change compared to some we have stayed in.
everything was very good
Excellent staff very courteious and helpful especially in the resturant Extractor fan in bathroom didnt work and no got it fixed even aftrer we had asked them to do so
Comfy bed, good facilities
our room was lovely and it was a very romantic setting.I would recommend it to anyone,If I was to go back to ellesmere I would stay at the holiday inn.
Quick check-in, polite staff. Room was clean & tidy. Drinks & food too expensive
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my stay here at all. Yes, loud music during the early hours and early morning and constant noise from housekeeping which was very unsettling and caused differences betwwen my partner and myself....night was ruined
The standard of the room was below that anticipated and did not warrant the price of £99.00 peer night. The hotel acknowledged this and reduced it to £75 which was still too much given the room.
Staff were very helpful, late checkout fot club members, clean, comfortable and quiet. rooms wers spacious and well equipped Food and drink were expensive as was internet usage
Staff very friendly and attentive, food good quality. None
ideal location very close to M6 great for breaking journey
the only thing i would say that was good about this hotel was the price we paid, £39. The hotel room was cold, there was no mirrors in the mirror frames, we could hear every car that went past on the very near M6, the bed and pillows were hard and the room just didnt feel as though it had been cleaned, this could be to do with it being christmas day to be fair. if we had paid the full ammount of about £60 for the room then i would have been very unhappy.
i liked the luxury i had a relaxing stay would stay again the only thing was i wanted to stay longer there was nothing i didn,t like
smooth easy transactions
Price No internet or WiFi connection in rooms
I enjoyed my stay because I was with a gorgeous man Update the beds and the blankets to duvets
ease of access. cleanliness
Hotel is convenient, friendly and the restaurant offers good quality and value for money. Hotel is getting a bit worn. Rooms are always too hot and controls knobs on radiators are missing. Should offer a better bed and breakfast deal at weekends
pub, breakfast, large room person at front desk did not have much of a service oriented or helpful attitude.
the hotel is looking tired and needs to come into the 21st century, the rooms are a bit tatty and you feel like you have gone back to the 1990s when i booked in i was given my room , i opend the door to find that the room was already occupied, i told the reception staff and they appoilgised and gave me another romm, the room was overlooking a roundabout on the east lancashire road, so the traffic noise was unaccepable, i was given a upgrade to a suite, to call a room with 2 duble beds in a suite is a bit of a joke , within 2 mins of entering my suite i could hear the noise of crying children from the roon next door, this was my third room so i put up wth it , as children go to bed quite early , but i forgot that they wake early to, the next day i was like a zombie.
the fact that we were staying in a hotel where family and friends were the attitude and inexperience of the people on reception
Gym, Carvery. Advertised Large Screen Sports not working in bar. Man U V Chelsea!!!
Big Room Was very noisy ( a stag do were staying the ame night as us) - would not for this reason use this hotel again
Friendly, helpful staff - as usual. Room was very clean. We were supplied towels, but the room lacked soap/shampoo which had to be requested. The remote control for the tv didn't work, the remote itself was faulty, which got replaced. Also, one of the lights in the room was not working which we thought was a faulty bulb but after having the bulb replaced it transpired that the light itself is faulty.
