How to Get to Piraeus

Plane

Although Piraeus doesn’t have its own airport, you can fly to Athens Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) (ATH), which is located 26 km from Piraeus. Skiathos is the most popular, with regular flights from Jet2, Aegean Airlines, Sky Express and other airlines departing from the United Kingdom. The shortest flight to Piraeus from the United Kingdom departs from London and takes around 3h 35m.

Car

Another option to get to Piraeus is to pick up a car hire from Chania, which is about 272 km from Piraeus. You’ll find branches of Right Cars and Europcar, among others, in Chania.

Bus

Several bus lines operate bus routes to Piraeus, including Union Ivkoni, Arda Tur and Tourist Service Holding. From Thessaloniki, the bus ride to Piraeus takes 676 km and will cost you around £54. From Sofia, the ticket costs about £39 for a journey of 1110 km. The most popular bus station is Piraeus Port Astiggos, located 0.7 km from the city centre of Piraeus. Piraeus Port is also a commonly used station, and is 1.2 km from the city centre.
