8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view and it was nicely decorated
6.3 Good
Pros: Central location, clean and tidy until the stormy weather caused leaks in the roof which resulted in the closure of the conservatory and creation of an indoor waterfall on the stairway.
Cons: Dilapidated exterior with rotting window frames and chunks of masonry missing on the facadesp. They will need about £1 million to renovate the building. Rooms are not worth present charge so no possibility of them investing in renovation without major hike in prices. I certainly wouldn’t consider paying more for what is essentially a modest hotel.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The stick on the wall. I'm not sure of the history behind it, but it must've been rather important. It's little things like these, the same would go for twigs and other tree and shrub based decorations, which really bring a room together.
Cons: The stick on the wall. I'm not sure of the history behind it, but it had obviously been deemed important enough to display it. It's little things like these, the same would go for twigs and other tree and shrub based decorations, which really look very odd stuck to a wall.

Pros: Lovely old style country house
Cons: I thought breakfast could have given more for the cooked. Such as 3 sausages instead of one. Potted marmalade was very commercial. Other local hotel in Guisborough had more up market marmalade.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A break with my wife for my 50th. This was our second visit and we will be back without doubt. Staff were friendly and helpful, location was relaxing and ideal. Visits to the towns on the moors and a run down to Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay, and the barman introduced us to some Yorkshire gin..

Pros: The central location of the hotel was great, it was clean and the staff were very friendly.
Cons: There was no toilet in the room only shower and basin. Unfortunately we had dinner there on the Saturday evening and both meals were returned as the steak was cremated and the pasta was left on the hotplate so that it was dried up to resemble leather and the rocket garnish had shrivelled! To be fair we didnt pay for the meals and the staff were very apologetic.
