Lovely place to stay, nicely decorated very relaxing. Good choice of breakfast, very pleasant time will be going back again.
Very clean, stylish and comfortable, good food.
Friendly atmosfere.Clean.Wonderful garden. No
The staff was helpful, the room was clean & homely.. Food was also brilliant.. Highly recommended
Clean and freshly painted, lots of toiletries in bathroom, comfy bed. Breakfasts are fantastic. Hosts very knowledgable about area and always helpful and willing to give advice. Hosts work hard to ensure a peaceful stay for everyone. Slow to top up orange juice at breakfast, floor boards in room above were creaky, didnt help having 2 gorillas bounding about which is not Coach House fault. Minor, very minor fault picking really.
Good personal service and standard of rooms excellent. Easy to find and located within easy walking distance of the town centre. Parking limited.
The view from the room windows was absolutely great. The ambience of the room was pretty good too (when the heating WAS working! We had no heating in the room on the mornng or our stay, with -11 outside it was a bit nippy!
very friendly staff, gorgeous food and will be returning NA
The garden was pleasant and well cared for, a definite asset The food was poorly prepared and the menus exaggerated the meals
It was very expensive for all that was available.
easy access to town and interesting areas of brecon the member of staff handling breakfast appeared to be alone and therefore the meal was slow with food running out several times with quite a wait for replenishment
Great ambiance and atmosphere, old world charm with modern amenities, a little quirky with slightly sloping floors but that added to the charm of the place. Our room was right beside a cupboard with some kind of noisy machinery inside that you could hear from our room, but despite our fears it didn't keep us awake.
Hotel was very well located. Food was very good and the general ambience of the public areas - bar and restaurant - was similarly good. I would certainly stay again, although might not go for a superior room, as it did not feel overly superior! Tatty coathangers in the wardrobe, not one of which was suitable to hang trousers
Lovely food from the bar, great breakfast and lovely views from our room. Bed was hard and uncomfortable.
the bar area was very nice and evening staff were friendly. the bathroom wasn't up to a standard of cleanliness
The hotel was in a central location of the town with outstanding views of the Brecon Beacons
Very comfortaable and great hostess
The hotel was a joy to stay in. Very clean, good facilities, friendly and excellent breakfast.
Friendly personal service, comfortable room
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, great breakfast, comfortable rooms with full facilities.
The lovely big bed was so comforable. The landlady was very friendly and everything was spotless.
Very pleasant owners. Very clean & comfortable. Good Food. Parking for only 1 car. Had to park further up road. Difficult to find parking.
Friendly and helpfull staff and owners and made feel really welcome and great food.
The service was excellent. We found the atmosphere very welcoming and generous. The staff were very helpful with luggage and information about local and historical places. The breakfast was excellent and the room was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. n/A
Fantastic place to stay. Excellent service
The staff were the husband and wife and were very friendly. The husband was a gourmet chef and the food was outstanding. good selection of wines and local beers. I would stay there again. nothing
The wrong room was allocated to what we had booked the shower was covered in mildew it was so old fashioned and in need of refurbishment wash hand bedroom was in the bedroom not in the ensuite Too many to mention wife was extremely rude overpriced room the lounge was occupied by their child
Good welcome and assistance with our luggage before and after stay.Hosts extremely pleasant, attentive and happy to talk with you. Gourmet food execllent and good value. Enoyed our stay.
quiet, very nice view, lovely people, very good restaurant the flow in shower very poor
Anyone who has stayed here or visited the restaurant will know that it is renowned for it's food. We had a superb meal in their lovely dining room and at an unbelievably reasonable price for top quality cuisine. Bear in mind that evening meals should be pre-booked as everything is freshly prepared.
Roger and Emma were excellent hosts, almost felt as if we were there as family guests. Room was very pleasent, with fantastic views over the local countryside. Dinner was a wonderful experience, food superbly presented tasting as good as it looked. Conversation with the hosts showed that they both really cared for their visitors, their business and local community. Rogers knowledge of the dishes he served was above reproach and his willingness to share this made for a most interesting and entertaining evening. Even breakfast felt like a special occasion, superb standards and menu again (the dried fruit in tea syrup was wonderful), all in the peaceful setting of the conservatory, again with the lovely views and early morning birdsong coming through the open doors. The hosts went beyond what would be expected of them, even down to Roger's advice on how to spend, what turned out to be, a lovely morning in the hill beyond the village. All in all, it made for a wonderful overnight stay, and a wonderful experience, exactly what we were looking for. Thank you, we will recomend you to others and will endeavour to return soon. I honestly can't think of any!!
Food superbe. Welcome and attention to our needs very good.
Friendly informative Staff
The owners were fabulous. Even though we arrived very late they still gave us the full gourmet restaurant service and their friendliness and interest made us feel that we were staying with old friends.
We loved the food. Very different and cooked to perfection. The owners were very nice but sometimes a little bit overpowering.
We liked everything about this hotel. Location, comfort, friendlyness and most of all the food. We also liked the fact that our dogs could stay with us in our room, and they loved the walks in the woods!! To far to come as often as we would like as we are in Scotland.
The staff were extremely professional The drinks from the bar were a little expensive
Excellent relaxing experience- will definitely go back .
Relaxing ambience.extremely helpful staff, excellent, but expensive restaura.nt
Quiet and excellent facilities. Wonderful staff Carpets in bathroom, shower above bath was crowded and impossible to shower properly without getting stuck to the curtain.
We had an upgrade to a suite which was superb. The thickest towels we have had in a hotel for a long while Lack of information in the room concerning the facilities
Beautiful setting, great facilities and helpful and friendly staff. Would reocmmend it to anyone.
One of the best staff I've come across. Loved the personal attention. Excellent food. very good value for money. The shower in eppint room was not upto the standard of the hotel. It was slow, and very difficult to get the hot and cold water combination right. I just meant it did not meet the high standards the hotel maintained.
The hotel was in beautiful grounds with fantastic views from our bedroom windows. Nothing
Very relaxing hotel with excellent staff. Food and wine choice was outstanding.
The owners were very welcoming even after a hard day working in the excellent tearoom. Not having a shower facility
Made very welcome without going "over the top". Nothing was too much trouble and we had access to our room any time (not always possible at a b & b). The hotel is on a main road which meant you could not have the window open at night, but this is nothing to do with the owners!!
The owners were extremely welcoming and the room very well set out and equipped There is no car park - but this wasn't a problem for one night as there was roadside parking beside the premises
Lynne and Allan went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, the rooms clean and tidy and the bed comfortable.Definately recommended.
Visited our son's college nearby, and the local Sheep Fair. Visited local castles and gardens and the steam railway. We would have preferred a shower, rather than a bath.
The owners were very cordial, accomodating, professional and welcoming. The breakfast was extraordinarily delicious and ample. Room was very small.
Cleanliness, quality of breakfast Tv didn't work
Really bright clean room, extremely helpful owners great location. No shower in the bathroom.
the staff at the hotel were amazing, it was very clean and welcoming and i would definately visit again
Good service and excellent breakfast Would chooes a lower floor beware traffic noise at night
very enjoyable stay in comfortable room with excellent breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay in every respect. The house was beautyful and excellently renovated, our room including bathroom very lovely, also breakfast room, launch and library with pool billard. But most of all to be complimented are the hosts, a very likeable young couple that does everything to make you feel welcome, cooks a wonderful breakfast, bakes cakes etc. They are always friendly and ready for a joke. Best regards to Katie and Roger, all the best to you and thank so much again.
friendly and clean. great breakfast.
Lovely house and decor. Friendly and helpful proprietors. Very generous breakrfast beautifully presented. It would have been nice to have a shower as well as the bath.
Lovely family running the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Very good cooked breakfast and charming surroundings. Would certainly return again. No.
Roger and Katie are great hosts, we were amazingly well looked after. Greeted with tea and scones and shown to a very attractive room with a sumptious bathroom. We booked in for three nights and enjoyed every one. Breakfast was lovely, clearly made from quality ingredients. We were even treated to afternoon tea and homemade cake each day! Roger was on hand with maps and ideas for great walks in the area, some of which you can easily do from Adrwyn House. The town, despite being small has a several good places to eat and drink, all very reasonably priced and within easy walking distance from Adrwyn House. There is also a station in the town so if you don't have a car this would be a great place for a weekend away. On leaving it was more like saying good bye to friends than checking out, such was the welcome of our stay. We'd definatly recomend you stay.
The generous breakfast that kept us going all day long Coming back to a warm friendly welcome each day that included freshley baked home-made cakes The lovely friendly atmosphere of the guest house Roger's little scenic drives None
Ardwyn House has to be one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. Katie and Roger made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. The house itself has been beautifully renovated in art nouveau style and the rooms are extremely comfortable. a real treat was the home-made cake that appeared at tea time every day - get Roger to bake the Lemon Drizzle cake if you visit - it is to die for! Breakfast was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - we can't recommend it highly enough! No - we liked everything!
We had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and beautiful. Our room had amazing views. Afternoon tea was homemade lemon drizzle cake and a cafetiere of coffee. The breakfast was lovely and all cooked to order. The rooms were great with an amazing roll top bath. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were of thr highest quality. There is Molly the dog on the premises, so if you are not a dog lover that maybe a bit tricky.
The Ardwyn House exceeded all expectations. R and k were the perfect hosts, the breakfast was by far the best I've had at a b&b, the room was spacious, clean and very, very comfortable with a huge en suite which was also spotless! We found the location of Ardwyn House to be perfectly located - the coast, Brecon Beacons, and so much more are all within an easy country drive. R and k are very knowledgeable about the area and are only too happy to help point you in the right direction; our trip was all the more enjoyable for having followed their advice! I cannot think of a single bad point. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
High quality, comfortable, relaxing stay with excellent breakfast and plenty of local choice for eating-out. Best nights sleep in weeks! Close to Myndd Epynt and the Brecon Beacons.
Very welcoming hosts in a small, quiet guest house. Good facilities in the comfortable room.
Landlady was very friendly and helpful. For example, offered use of their drying room and pegs to dry out my wet kit. Novel use of building fitted out to high standard.
The staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. This combined with excellent facilities made the stay very enjoyable. The location also gives easy access to the countryside while being a short walk to the facilities of Llanwrtyd Wells.
The owners are extremely friendly and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We travelled with a small baby and they made an extra effort to help us caring for him,
Photo's and details of room facilities were accurate. The only thing which could be altered is the fact that we gave our card details online to book the Hotel, thinking we had paid. It needs to be clearly marked on the website that card details are only taken to secure your reservation and that cash has to be paid for rooms at Hotel.
Made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much bother, especially the request for an early breakfast Sunday morning. Would reccommend and will stay again if in the area.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Shirley at the Plasnewydd B&B, Very friendly service and an excellent room and breakfast, Would recommend to anyone and shall be booking again when we next visit the area.
Very quiet, excellent cooked breakfast, adequate parking facilities, good value for money. Run by a very pleasant and helpful lady. Payment by cash only. This was in the tiny small print, which I had not read, so it caught me off-guard. Booking.com website could do with making this more prominent, as there is no free cashpoint in the village.
The owner was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure that the guests are comfortable. The room was very nice and everything about the hotel was very welcoming.
the room size was excellent though would've benefited from a more thorough clean. the food at the hotel was of a good quality and very good value for money. on a whole a very relaxed atmosphere with in the hotel with a wide range of cultures and nationalalitys. the only fault would be there is no hotel parking though there are several car parks within an easy reach of the hotel.
we have stayed at the wellington twice this year and enjoyed both stays the staff and really friendly and it is very chilled out and relaxing we have no complaints the hotel is in the ideal location
Relaxed atmosphere No adjacent parking
Poor atmosphere, poor attitude, not welcoming.
The full english breakfast was exellent. The whole feel to the place was nice and laid back, The room was not cleaned or visted by a maid the whole time we where tthere, which was two nights. Also the rooms are a bit close together.
The staff were polite and helpful; the food was very good and not too expensive; the rrom was warm and perfect for what I needed. The room was quite basic, no TV remote and the TV picture was very poor; these are very minor issues and overall it was fine.
This Hotel needs checking or taken off your books
It's central location.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, but respected our privacy. They got the balance just right. Nothing.
Nice old building kept in a good and clean condition. Friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. With a good location in the centre of Brecon.
The setting is quite spectacular The fact that we were not told that we could watch television in our room and we felt that in general the waiting staff were unenthusiastic. Although they were polite etc its as if they had a permenant slouuch.
The scenery. The food was good There was no heat in the room and staff said that it wd not be turned on until 5pm. had booked in at 3pm. it was snowing and very cold.
Enjoy the two meals we had , ours was only a one night stay for a wedding . I will be writing to you with a complaint.
The bathroom was fantastic with its large claw foot bath. The hotel gave you that back in time feeling, it was a great place to stay off the beaten track. No complaints
The Location Poor room design Poor breakfast
Leaving The dogs that were allowed to access the hotel.
convenient position It was basically a wedding and function hotel
The staff were first class the service excellent.
Absolutely stunning building and environs, very interesting history. Nice bedroom, amazing bathroom - best shower sofar! Liked it overall but... Seems to be fraying a bit at the edges, eg loose tiles in bathroom, tapware flaking. Really lumpy pillows. No lunch or dinner during the week and no cooked breakfast!!! Expensive for what you actually get.
Beautiful castle exterior and grounds. Stunning location. The rooms were of low quality.
Beautiful setting very quiet and relaxing. Loved the views and the beautiful garden and different flowers.shame it was raining!!. The hospitatlity was brilliant ,lovely breakfast great choice. Loved the pet dog.
It was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in a beautiful environment with very hospitable hosts. No
Excellent country location with a beautiful garden and local walks, welcoming and very friendly hosts, first class breakfast with home-baked bread. Although there are dedicated bathrooms for each room, they are not en-suite and entrance is from the common landing. The bed in our room was a little softer than we like.
Location clean and well presented very good breakfast friendly welcom Room not ensuite no view from room
An excellent place to stay for anyone visiting this beautiful part of Wales. Located in a quiet wooded valley a short drive from the local town of Llanwrtyd Wells this is the ideal place to stay for anyone wanting to enjoy beautiful views and a warm welcome from the owners. Rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfasts are excellent. All in all a great place to stay.
The food was excellent as was the service. The staff were friendly and accomodating. We fely the room was a little dusty and the bidet had no hot water.
Fabulous location; great menu & dining; superb room; unexpectedly well appointed leisure facilities; very friendly and relaxing atmosphere
dining was perfect!! Welcome could be more friendly. We stayed in some similar hotels and think this one is somewhat overpriced.
The staff were very friendly - the room was excellent - evening meal first class and a great location. No bad points
I loved it, the room, the restaurant, the spar, the location all 5* It was peaceful vary relaxing. Nothing
Very relaxing ambience and excellent courteous friendly service Lovely room but at top of hotel, 4 medium flights of stairs, not suitable for less mobile and no mention of this when booking with booking.com
Availability of the Gym I prefer NOT to stay in modern hotel boxes. Temperature control in the bathroom
