Book Thrifty car hires at Boston Logan Intl Airport

• What is the best car to rent for exploring Boston?

The best car depends on your plans in Boston and the size of your group. However, parking in Boston can be difficult due to limited spaces and small streets so consider booking smaller Thrifty rental cars at Boston Logan Intl Airport. If you’re traveling with a group of friends who don’t have too much luggage, we recommend booking a compact SUV or a full-size sedan. Counter service was slow and awful. Advertised cars were not available. I was charged for insurance I didn't sign for. I was given EZ pass that I did not want. This was in total a very bad experience.Reviewed 25 Sept 2026

The front desk staff was the best I've ever had. Car was reasonably clean except one fake eyelash and cranberry in the cup holder.Reviewed 29 Aug 2026

W re reserved a car to go on a leaf peeping trip and when we arrived to pick it up, they were all out of cars. We ended up cancelling our reservation and paying double with another rental company but at least they had a car for our reservation.Reviewed 6 Oct 2024

Double charged (not pending holds--actual charges) and still waiting for a response from the company. Many pre-trip messages insisting that I should check in online to "skip the desk and go straight to the car." Fortunately I didn't do that, because upon arrival, numerous unhappy travelers were turned away at the garage and sent back to the desk to check in. There were physical signs everywhere asking people to check in online and go straight to the garage. Terrible treatment at the desk. The person lied and said, verbatim, "We only have electric cars right now." and asked if I needed instructions on how to find charging stations. I insisted on a gas car and suddenly he was able to make one available--for twice the price we had reserved online! Don't lie to me and say there are not any gas cars then. Bad service in general too. He asked me how to spell my name WHILE actively holding my photo ID, and then later asked "What kind of card is that" after I had paid. (He meant Visa vs. Mastercard, which, again, you have my card. Stop wasting my time.) Car center console was dirty with brown sticky residue. Horrible experience start to finish, and I'm still not even finished since I'm still waiting for the charges to be corrected.Reviewed 6 Sept 2024

I accidentally rented an electric car… in thrifts defense I did not read the description before I purchased. It wasn’t until I was 30m away from the airport that I realized. Took forever to charge the car. The car only had 200mi on it to empty when I rented it. Also did not interact with anyone to get the car it was all online, turned in the keys to a human but that’s it.Reviewed 28 Aug 2024

Wildly inconvenient. I was given an electric rental that was not fully charged. I spent much of my vacation frantically looking for chargers to get it charged and wasted time I had planned for visiting instead on waiting for a rental car to charge. There should be warning or pop up pr some kind of instructions to renter that they are receiving a fully electric car so they know ahead of time and can swap if need be.Reviewed 26 Aug 2024

Customer service was great! The only problems were the price doubling form the first quote, and now a $78 toll charge. I did go through some tolls, but certainly not $78 worth. Ended up being WAY more expensive than I planned.Reviewed 16 Jun 2024
