I did like the drop off system, very easy and convenient. I wasn’t happy with not having enough signs telling me where to go at the terminal and also at the rental building, since I did the paperwork online. I had a car reserved for me but the clerk gave a different key and car, that slowed down the process of me leaving the building. I was told to confirm my Tesla Model 3 reservation at the 2nd floor counter and go to the 1st floor parking lot to find the E7 and go out. I looked around the 1st floor parking lot but couldn't find the Tesla vehicle in the Herz parking lot. As I was wandering around, an employee came up to me, looked at my documents stating that I had the E7, and said that the car would be delivered in 5 minutes, no, 3 minutes. However, after 10 minutes and no one showed up, I told another employee and only then did two people hurriedly drive out of the parking lot and bring the Tesla.Reviewed 23 Feb 2025

They literally had no cars available when we got there, had to wait in a long line and then they gave us a slip to go get an SUV and there were literally no cars available in the lot. Pickup was a nightmare. My flight arrived at 3:30pm. I wasn’t on the road with a car until after 4:45. That’s >75 minutes! And I followed their instructions for fast pickup or it would have been longer. Also they gave a spiel about MA law saying Hertz would charge us hundreds per day if their car was in an accident and insurance won’t cover it, basically forcing us to get extra insurance and doubling the price. We wanted to go to eastern CT. Never flying into Boston again. Besides that it was good: nice car, clean, easy drop-off.Reviewed 22 Aug 2024

I showed up with a prepaid reservation, ID and forms of payment, and even went to the trouble of checking in online. I spent 2:30 hours in front of the counter and on hold with Hertz customer support before we finally figured out the issue their system was having and got me my car. It was an absolute nightmare. I had to go to the counter to pick up the car. The women behind the counter talked me into the full option. I wasn’t paying attention as we were ready to get going but on top of the prepaid rental they added the fuel plus $100 in fees. When I arrived, the car I booked was not allowed to be received with the card I had paid with. Extreme rules that you can only rent with a debit card if you return to the same location and have an outbound flight ticket. But I booked a one way rental Boston to Albany, with a train ticket home. Shouldn't be allowed to rent with a card I won't be able to complete the trip with. Or needs to be EXTREMELY indicated.
