10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff moved us to a different room after our original was going to be next to a wedding party and they didn't want us to suffer the music until late. The Restaurant Staff were also friendly and welcoming with the choice of food OK but was the same menu every night which was a little disappointing. On a good note though, the buffet breakfast had a wide variety of foods and was plentiful. Our room was spacious and is designed for disabled guests as the shower was a walk in type. All in all, we absolutely loved the stay and will be going back again
Cons: Menu was the same every evening which wasn't really suitable

Cons: Needs updating, lampshades cracked, bath panel had flaky paintwork, worn carpets.

Pros: Our evening meal was amazing & the staff were extremely attentive. The building is beautiful with a stunning location.
Cons: We paid for a more expensive room so we could have a bigger bed & bigger room (The Winchelsea). Unfortunately our room was adjacent to the main footpath into the hotel reception so everyone was literally walking past our window. You could hear everything in the room above us too, the TV, them walking around which is not great at 2am then again at 6am! We were expecting the most fabulous breakfast but were only offered a continental which we took in our room, 4 mini pastries a pot of yoghurt & some fruit! Not what you would expect for £400 for one night for B&B!
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Food was very poor for otherwise very high standards set by hotel
7.0 Good
Pros: The place is lovely and the staff friendly
Cons: Breakfast was OK but I would have though that the eggs benedict would have nice ham not thin shop-bought stuff. It would have been nice if my husbands 60th birthday was acknowledged apart from a very tiny chocolate plaque on his cheeseboard. I did ask the management to make the pudding extra special. The hotel stay was very expensive yet they didn't run to tiny little extras

Pros: the location of the hotel was very good and easy to find. the check in was easy and the receptionist was very helpful. there were several places nearby for meals or snacks.
Cons: the breakfast finished a little early(9am M-F) so we were unable to take advantage of what looked like a very appetising selection. We would have prefered a walk in shower as the over bath shower was difficult for us oldies.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was hot, delicious - I had scrambled egg on toast. My husband and two friends had the full English breakfast. The coffee and tea were piping hot and served promptly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I loved the fire in the snug - so warm and welcoming. We had lunch in the Tap room, which also had a fire lit, the food was hot, fresh and delicious.
Cons: At breakfast, the bowl of fresh fruit on the buffet bar contained two oranges with mouldy blue patches covering the skin. Disappointing. On a previous stay, the fruit was fresh. Also was disappointed that the main restaurant closed Sunday evening - we had been looking forward to a meal there. We had brought friends with us this time hoping to eat with us in the Dining Room - felt a bit let down as we had eaten on Sunday when we last stayed here.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location
Cons: Tricky parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was huge and comfy and bedding was crisp
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and bathroom were so comfortable, and there were complimentary bathroom products and plenty of beautifully folded towels. Of the Staff, I would have to single out the very helpful reception staff, the very friendly, chatty (but not intrusive) bar man, and the smiley, helpful, and efficient Breakfast man; so all of those whom I met! The Norfolk Arms is a traditional inn, in a traditional town, and for my money, the best place that I've stayed in for yonks.
Cons: I loved it and will both return and recommend it. It isn't the Ritz - but it would be doing down the Ritz to give the same marks for facilities (we had a room to which we had to cross a courtyard in winter, for example).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was just right. Warm and cosy with a great view of downtown ARUNDEL . Tap room burger was excellent With a good quality glass of Malbec.... happiness is!
Cons: Nothing

5.0 Okay
Pros: I liked the location having stayed there twice before. I liked the facilities too including the pool.
Cons: The food menus didn't cater for vegan diners at all in spite of calling them over a week in advance. The dinner was shockingly poor and when I raised it at check-out I was assured I would get some money taken off the final bill. I have just received by bank statement and this didn't happen so i feel very angry.

7.0 Good
Pros: The room was very nice, romantic and with great atmosphere. Also lobby, bar and restaurant where looking awesome. Was good to have a pool and small sauna as well.
Cons: The breakfast was very poor and just basic english breakfast (toast, egg, beens, mushroom, bacon sausage) without any other choice. I expect more from a 4 star house. A bit of mould around our bath tub. The staff was not unfriendly but we also didn't feel very welcome. I told them before that it is my girlfriend's birthday and asked for a nice room which we got. I am not sure if I can expect this but I was a bit disappointed that they provided nothing and even didn't congratulated.

6.0 Good
Pros: Well located. Pleasant breakfast room. Quiet room.
Cons: Room was rather small and the wifi didn't work to a useable level in the evening.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were so comfortable! Beautifully made up room. Luxury toiletries on offer to use which smelt divine. Modern appliances and the kids loved the games and dvd selection. It was very clean and warm too. The children loved their breakfast. Owner was friendly and helpful. A lovely place with a great view over the sea and well kept to a high standard.
Cons: There's nothing I didn't like. However I had asked for 2 single beds and 1 double in the family room (to save arguments from the children who was on the top bunk) This was granted via message but it's not what we had. Not necessarily a down point, maybe it wasn't available, I didn't ask. Disappointed I wasn't able to have a full English breakfast at 8am the next day which was said the night before was available to have. Nonetheless I had a ham and cheese omelette which was nice and a selection of fruits from the side.

Pros: Comfy bed hot bath decent breakfast
Cons: Food prices , damaged fixtures in room . Room above kitchen very noisy glad it was a work trip so I didn't want a lie in
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Value Quality Staff
Cons: Noise from fan/pump below my room Poor starter at restaurant, though colleagues was excellent Mains were wonderful
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I was in the Damask Rose room, which is one that is outside the main building. The room is a double room, but a small double. As I was travelling alone the size of the room was perfect but I feel that had there been a 2nd person moving around the room would have been tricky. The bed was firm and very comfortable. Plenty of pillows and cushions. The bathroom is modern with a lovely walk in shower with plenty of room. Water pressure was good and shower easy to use. The food at the hotel is excellent. Breakfast is amazing. A varied buffet, a freshly cooked to order breakfast, plenty of toast and coffee. I dined at the hotel too on the evening. The menu is al a carte. Prices are not too bad. An average of £15 for a main course. The food is very well cooked, arrived piping hot and was delicious. Staff were amazing. Polite, helpful and always with a smile. Nothing is too much trouble.
Cons: The only criticism I would make is that there was no heating in the bathroom. With a single pane window and it being February it was very cold. A heated towel rail or small radiator in there would make using the bathroom much more pleasant.
6.0 Good
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Staff were not very helpful, communication poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds very comfy and room was spotless. Staff were fantastic with our toddler, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice and plenty in the plate.
Cons: Bigger cups in the bedroom, but I really do like my tea...just made 2 cups instead, so not really an issue

Pros: Chequers is a perfect countryside hotel with clean, comfortable rooms; friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast. It’s great value for money, and the shower is probably the best I’ve had at a hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy, lovely owners/hosts, all the furniture & surroundings make it feel more like a home than a hotel. Amazing menu, food & wine. I could not fault the place in anyway.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast there is plenty of choice, freshly made and tasty. Waiting staff, very attentive and helpful.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasing ‘decor’ style, friendly ambience and, in January, few other guests.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely old property full of character. Our room was spacious and the 4 poster bed comfortable, a good night's sleep was had. Part of the character however was evident in the very squeaky floor and the steps down into the room and the low, low (5 ft ? ) "Duck or Grouse" door into the ensuite. All obstacles were successfully negotiated ! Breakfast was very good. Good fun if you like somewhere a bit different for a night's stay.
Cons: I can't complain about the quirky bits mentioned above as they are part of the building's charm.
