Booked the mystery car. It was unclear it could have been an EV. It was unclear how the charging worked, and the agent was rushed, only suggesting upcharging us to a regular car. It felt scammy and nickel and dimed.Reviewed 29 Jul 2026

After I handed over the car without any findings, they deducted 220 USD from my credit card without notification. Now I have to run after my money. That’s unacceptable.Reviewed 24 Aug 2025

They accommodated us at the airport - somehow we were booked at another location - which was super!. However, although the car was clean enough, but hadn't been cleaned before we got it. It was also a much larger SUV, so was a bit difficult for my husband to drive in the city. But the fact that we didn't have to go elsewhere made all the difference and the guy at the desk was super nice!Reviewed 17 Aug 2025

The price I was quoted was exactly what I paid. There weren't a lot of minivan options, but the one I rented got me across the whole U.S. Easy pick up and drop off.Reviewed 24 Feb 2025

I waited for 1.5 hours at the rental office. I was seen fairly quickly but the paperwork process took forever. When I finally got my vehicle, there was a low tire pressure warning. I mentioned this to the attendant at the rental office but she said they couldn't fix it. So I went to a nearby gas station to get more air. But as I was driving off the warning light came back on and I could hear a hissing coming out of the tire. There was clearly a tear in the tire. They offered me another vehicle but that then took more time to process that paperwork. The car was clean but overall a bad experience.Reviewed 16 Oct 2024

There was a very long line at the counter but was able to go directly to the car since I have Avis Preferred. If not, it would likely have e taken an extra hour to get the car.Reviewed 27 Sept 2024

I had to wait in a line that took longer than an hour to get to the front desk. Then they didn’t have the car I reserved and they gave me a Tesla. I feel like it should have come with a quick tutorial video, you know in case the windshield fogs up while driving over the bridge and THERE’S NO FREAKING CONTROLS! Everything is on a screen. Ugh 😩Reviewed 19 Sept 2024

Car was clean and in good condition. But the wait for to get the car was 1.5 hours. That’s ridiculous.Reviewed 16 Sept 2024

Rate was great, but the wait for a car at PDX was over 3 hours. Longer than my flight from LAX. Completely ridiculous. It was so bad I decided to Lyft and did not pick up the car.Reviewed 12 Sept 2024

Long line for pickupReviewed 12 Sept 2024

Huge line for pickup, even though I had done pre-check in online. No signage or a clear line-all who entered were confused about who was next-only the waiting customers explained the order they were waiting. The 2 busy employees didn’t tell anyone what was going on. They would stop helping check-ins any time someone came to drop keys and focus the attention onto them. Not enough cars for all who were there waiting. We were given a car that had not been cleaned or washed. The person helped before us came back to say the car he was given smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, only to be told he would have to wait possibly an hour for another option. No public bathroom, nowhere nearby with a bathroom, either.Reviewed 6 Aug 2024

Liked the type of car. Did NOT like the hours it took to get a satisfactory vehicle and get on our way. Seriously. Fifty or so customers standing on line for three, sometimes two Avis representatives. Avis staff upstairs where we picked up the car told us that’s the norm. After loading our luggage into the dirty, smoky vehicle, adjusting mirrors, setting up phone for GPS, etc., we noticed passenger window had. Large crack from top to bottom. Exchanged vehicle for yet another dirty, smoky vehicle, loaded, adjusted and found that dashboard display screen didn’t work. Exchanged vehicle yet again only to find the same issue with the third vehicle. Decided to suck it up and go anyway, after OVER nearly 2 HOURS.Reviewed 26 Jun 2024
