I reserved my car 3 weeks in advance for 12/26. Upon arrival, and after waiting for quite some time, we were informed that they were out of cars and we’d have to wait for 1-1.5 hours to see if they had any come back. We were put on a waiting list along with people who just booked a day or two prior and ended up waiting 1.5 hours to get a car which was smaller than what we paid for and smelled like smoke. Our luggage barely fit in the back. It really delayed our trip to see family and friends and was not what we paid for.Reviewed 3 Jan 2026

Worst experience of my life while renting a car. The staff at the counter was rude and misleading about insurance information. We had such a bad experience that we ended up cancelling the reservervation and charged a penalty as they cancelled the booking an hour later than the pick up time. On one of the busiest holiday weekends (12/27), at one of the busiest airports in the nation (Newarl) there were 12 desks available to help Budget customers, and only one of them was staffed with a human being. The wait to pick up the rental car was 2 hours. Never again, Budget.Reviewed 2 Jan 2026
