Nice location and only steps to beach!! Lots of activities and shops. Bathroom was not properly cleaned on arrival. :(
The hotel is great. It is clean with a friendly staff and located very conveniently. My only complaint and my warning for folks booking here would be that the price is definitely not what you see. I booked my rooms on Kayak and paid in full at booking. When I got to the hotel I was told that there was a $30/ day + tax charge for staying in the hotel. To self park in the hotel parking garage is $35/day or you can valet park for $37/day. The additional $65+/day adds up quickly. Just a heads up. Otherwise the hotel was lovely.
Close to beach and multiple shops and dining. Rooms could use microwave
Closeness to the beach When we arrived to our room, the city view was a view of the parking garage, actual a parked car was about 3 feet from our window. It was NOT a city view which I booked. When we called the front desk, we were advised they were completely booked and had no rooms available elsewhere. (We looked online and it did indicate there were rooms available for the night in a better location.) We were told we would be upgraded to a partial ocean view, but not until the next night. Also, there is an additional $30 charge per night for staying at that location, we were not advised of that until we were checking in. We also had to pay an additional $47 per day for valet parking which we also were not advised of until we checked in. The rooms are run down and carpets are old. In the high traffic areas the carpet had creases in spots, enough to cause us to trip. We had a negative encounter with one of your valets, we lost the valet ticket that was on the key, when we returned, they made a big deal of it, told us that we should have kept it on the key ring. Not good customer service especially after charging $47 per day!!!. This is a Marriott Resort and we booked it because of the name and our expectations were not even remotely met... Marriott should evaluate this location, both the desperate need of renovation and some of the customer service. If it's not going to be renovated soon, then charging appropriate hotel/motel rates and advertise appropriately.
The location is acceptable and very close to the beach. Depending on where your room is located you might be impacted by the pool activity and noise. I didn't like the fact that you get a room rate online, but when you arrive there are extra fees (Resort Fee $30.00 a day, and if you valet park a vehicle, it is $37.00 a day). The fees are not necessarily hidden, they are just not posted on the daily rate schedule. You find out when you are checking in. I have stayed in Honolulu many times and these fees are normal for most of the hotels. Hence, it would be better to show all of the rates and fees that are associated with your stay, so that you can make an intelligent choice in your selection of a hotel,
I liked that it was in the center of all the action and right by the beach
Location, Bar and restaurants, hotel layout. Parking and resort fee add over $60/day.
I enjoyed checking out of this hotel and telling them how I felt about our stay I liked none of this experience
Terrific location, terrific service
From the moment I checked in, I received excellent service. Richard was the gentlemen who checked me in, offered top-notch service, gave me a wonderful room, made me feel valued for being an Elite Marriott Rewards member, thoroughly explained the Resort Fee and Package. I enjoyed my time there and wish I was there longer. They did charge me for valet parking when I only used guest parking. I had to get that corrected.
Good location. yeah, that's it. and there's tons of other hotels on the beach. I would elsewhere other than Aston brand seeing how they're managed. Staff was not organized and not caring. They gave key to our room to other guests. I don't know if it's good or bad we were in the room at the time. Assuming they only did it once. A hotel employee even tried to let people in. Hint - new, empty rooms don't have the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door. They called us twice after 11PM trying to sort out their mistake in booking.. I complained to staff, no reaction. When i was checking out, they didn't ask how my stay was, otherwise i would've complained again. BTW, there were 4 workers just standing there when i checked out, so it's not like they were rushed. Small gym, small pool, big resort fee. Still have to pay $30/night for parking. Make sure you add $60+/day to your expected price your paying. Two sets of keys stopped working at the same time. they claim they both got demagnitized. 2 sets of keys kept in separate places at the exact same time? they screwed up. They didn't clean the room every day, even when empty from 6am-12. Bathroom stank of mildew. Safe didn't close reliably. Hair dryer only worked on 2 of 3 settings. We didn't get our welcome bag of sunscreen until second day of our stay, again pointing out they screwed up in the system. Refrigerator froze all liquids inside, not just in the icebox. No way to adjust it. Lots of drunk biker gang guys at the pool bar at night. They staggered into our private party. They have a weird elevator system where you have to press your room key and punch in the floor outside the elevator. there's no buttons inside. and you can't go from the rooms to the ground level. you have to stop at the 3rd floor in either direction. The first day i was confused and i asked the staff how to get to the ground floor, he told me i had to valet. i said i just want to get to the parking area and he just kept telling me i have to valet and pointed to the lobby. Elevators were broken every night.
Location, amenities and the bars A little dirty and dated
My wife fell, while holding our daughter, while getting into the pool on a very slippery first step. Two other guests told us about their similar experience during their stay. It was our first day of our vacation and my wife spent the week with a bruised spine and a big scratch. The Aston took pictures of her injury but did nothing about it.
The location Was getting kicked out of my room,
Unbeatable location in Waikiki. Our room had a great view of both Diamond Head and the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable. Best shower head ever! No use of the pool after 6 p.m. is a ridiculous policy.
The Hotel is in the heart of the most live area of Honolulu and its beach is a safe family beach
Great location, budget accomadation. Restaurant very handy and food great. Poor facilities.
Comfortable beds. Great view and right across from beach. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Could use thicker pillows though.
Great location. Friendly staff. The hotel could use a little "updating" - but great value for money.
Friendly staff, great location. Lacks a fitness center and the pillows and towels were standard.
made reservations 3 months in advance and requested a room with 2 beds, but when I arrived I was informed that the hotel was full and all they could provide was a roll away bed. I was never contacted about a room with two beds being available in the 5 nights I was there. Also, when i first made the reservation, the website advertised flat screen tv and microwave in the $89 room. The website now says that the upgraded rooms have flatscreen tv and microwave for $99. Interesting change from the first time I saw the site.
the beds were very comfortable; the staff was extremely courteous and helpful; good wireless internet connection; also, we really enjoyed lulu's restaurant, and having the convenience store right in the hotel. nothing.
Excellent staff and a great view over looking the beach and Diamond Head I would like laundry facilites available to do your own laundry.
very good staff
Location Paying for Parking, not enough drawers in the rooms for clothes. Bathroom too small
Great location, close to lots of activities like the zoo, aquarium and beach. Staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and although it was a short visit, staff remembered me by name.
Enjoyed the price the best, but everything else was good as well. N/A.
Close to beach and Waikiki great location nice staff older rooms with average furnishings bad shower head small pool but fun expensive breakfast buffet $25 for parking/day
Right next to beach, My view was of a decay roof & walls over the pool.
The staff was amazing and very helpful and as nice as they could be. Very very friendly. Road/street noise was a bit loud. Can't beat the price, location or staff. I got a lot for my money.
We really enjoyed how close it was to the beach. It's location was the best part of the trip. Easily walked over to rent mopeds that we rode to Diamond Head. Restaurants galore as well! The staff at the hotel are all so very sweet. The hotel itself is beautiful with a rooftop lounge/pool area; the view of Diamond Head was amazing! We definitely got the short end of the stick with the standard room being so small. Next time we'll look into getting a bigger room.
The location of the hotel is about the best thing I can say about the place. It was about two blocks from the beach. The room we had was extra small and behind the elevator. The 'view' was of another side of the hotel which had balconies (we did not) and a view of Diamond Head (we did not). In a room within our 'view' and about two floors down the people in that room had a really good time partying out there. Between the elevator and the party, sleeping was rough. In addition the towel rack in the bathroom fell apart. Finally, they charged 25.00 a day to park there. Self parking was not an option, only valet parking. If you wanted to self park you had to find a place on the street and pay the meter or in a 'lot' across a very busy street.
Staff and service was outstanding. We were well taken care of. We Felt like OHANA. NO COMPLAINTS
Early check in request at 12nn Ongoing construction at 17th floor. Beds are not soft Unlike other hotels.
Price , close to the beach , view Air con, pillows, Windows old , lots of street noise . Breakfast / restaurant area was run down , breakfast buffet was weak . Place needs remodel upgrade
It was conveniently located to shops and beach with a nice view of the ocean Tiny room and mediocre service
It so close to every thing stay was so friendly and helpful . When asked about place to eat the gave like 10 place in the week we tried like 6 all where great . Place was clean and very nice . Views where great and the room was very clean and nice .
Right on the edge of Waikiki, across from the zoo and close to the beach and ocean. A little outdated in the rooms. Room was very tiny.
Private beach, off the main drag, quiet Rooms are tiny and slightly out of date.
Service was always friendly, prompt and efficient. The hotel is also quiet and great for relaxing - away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Waikiki. The beautiful Aquarium is just a few steps away. Do not forget to get your breakfast or other meal at the beautiful ocean-front restaurant.
Location was perfect, felt like a place the locals go and was still close enough to the busy tourist areas, that you can walk.
The service was excellent. Restaurants and facilities were top notch. One on property you need not go anywhere else. A great experience! That we had to leave.
No inroom tea
This hotel is ocean front property. They contacted me days prior my arrival to inquire about my accommodations and special requests. I mentioned how I would be getting married during my stay. I was upgrade to a room with a beautiful view free of charge. The room service is quick and food is delicious. I really enjoyed my time there :D There was some construction going on during the day time. It was loud and caused dust inside the hotel.
fantastic views! room service food was excellent and fast. friendly and helpful staff. one thing they must improve is to let guests know that in order for the AC to work, all sliding glass doors must be fully closed - if left ajar the AC shuts off.
best parts - location truly beachfront. staff, RON in particular. He went out of his way to give us a lift to relatives in Salt Lake. Thanks again Ron! Dinner was great (a little pricey, but what's not in Waikiki)... quick service from William- Thanks William. Room was quite small, nice size bed, no room for side tables, just enough to squeeze out of bed and into the bathroom or out the room. TV and wifi quite bad! TV often freezes, lots of strong wifi addresses but cannot connect to them only the weak ones and then get disconnected every now and then.
Location at the quiet end of Waikiki; nice almost private beach. Staff was very polite and helpful. The cost of hotel';s food and drink (2 restaurants, expensive bar).
The hotel staff was very professional and helpful. During our stay, my husband was ill. The hotel staff referred us to Straub Hospital where he received very good care. We would have liked to have some hot breakfast items to choose from such as hot biscuits, eggs, etc.
Courtesy and efficiency of all the staff at the front desk Staff preparing the breakfast was always unhappy like if she didn't like what she was doing. Nevertheless she was doing her tasks well.
Service was amazing! From the minute we dropped off the car with Valet, had very friendly caring staff.
We liked the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the location. The rooms are marvelous. Lack of balcony, and the very noisy ambient (every morning we were wakened at 7:15 by a singer from the terrace next door and on Sunday even at 6:30 by the awful lumbering of buses collecting groups from the nearby hotels).
hotel staff's service and attitude is good... affordable price Lots of noise in a room no. 506, unexpected hotel tax(about 9%), low interior detail compared to room photos, small area for breakfast, I experienced 3 hotels in hawaii and this Hotel Renew is the worst although considering price. Never recommended.
The staff were extremely helpful anf friendly. I would recommend the hotel without reservation. The breakfast was not all that wonderful. It was served in an alcove which is an extension of the reception area. Only four tables.
Great location, great hotel
This is a great small hotel, in a great location. The beds are wonderful and the rooms tasteful.
It's right by the beach most people wouldn't even know
friendly staff and very helpfull, nice design and position just perfect
Good price. Very helpful and friendly staff Our room wasvery noisy with garbage truchs working most of the night. Second, the shower was terrible. I stay in hotels 120 to 140 nights a year anne this shower was in the bottom 10%.
Very close to beach. Decent continental breakfast. Beach chairs and towels available. Lighting in our room was terrible - very dim and with no light in the entry area. Air conditioning is underpowered and can't keep up with Hawaii sun.
Close proximetry to downtown area but away enough to not have all the traffic. It has a beautiful park across the street and a view of Diamond Head.
Gorgeous polished floors and a lovely sleek decor. Quiet, beautiful. Will return soon!
Location away from hustle/bustle of Waikiki, cleanliness and modern design of rooms, very comfortable bed, views of Diamondhead and partial view of ocean. Ocean views are not truly full ocean views - partial only. The lone elevator was intermittently working during my stay, which makes things challenging staying on a high floor. Breakfast only had coffee/tea and pre-made items.
Location, staff and bicycles Bed was a little old. Needs updating.
Great location and nice enough rooms for the money. Elevator barely worked, and our bed was just two twins pushed together. Also the $10 charge per night for things that were never used.
It was awesome and probably I will bring my family so they can enjoy their stay here at waikiki It was simple but it was ok.
Quiet, convenient location, Keen staff, Cleanliness, Comfortable room, No noisy guests. Value plus, Good ac, tv, Bathroom, Free WiFi. Fridge, stove and dishes were great. I suggest, lose the morning donuts & coffee, and replace with in-room coffee making facilities.
This is a clean, affordable, budget hotel that is short on design and ammenities but provided me with a comfortable stay in Honolulu. 1) The "continential" breakfast consists solely of bread, boiled eggs, packets of jelly, coffee, orange juice and donut holes. 2) The lobby has been updated but the hall ways still look like something out of pre-cold war USSR.
clean bathroom it was filthy, paint peeling from walls, bulbs not working, things scurrying in the room, dirty, stained bedsheets, disgusting smelly carpet, dirty place in general
Location, friendly staff, clean rooms. The "breakfast" was poor.
Staff was excellent continental breakfast was decent. Overall good experience. Hotel could use some updating furniture and decor appear to be from the 70's
It's location and it is quiet. The free "continental breakfast" consisted only of donut holes and coffee, no juice, no tea, no cerial, no muffins, no fruit.
cheap, clean, free wifi, near to shops & sea, friendly helpful staff, i would stay there again the safe in the room was malfunctioning, the breakfast needs more variety, it's (mini-muffins, boiled eggs, toast, Jelly, coffee & orange juice), but it might be fine for somone who eat eggs.
Comfortable, clean, quiet room at a good price. Nothing I can think of
Great value for money. close to everything No kettle
That it was near the beach The service was terrible and the rooms were really weird
it has been one of the worse experience in my life. First room was completely dirty and broken. I think nobody never cleaned this room before. I asked to have another room the day after (because after 10pm there is nobody in the reception).Second room was fully of: ant, bugs, and some insect that they liked my laptop. I am still killing them. The hotel in general is also noisy but i guess it's also the area.
The location of the hotel is excellent. And the hotel is familier to the dogs, and the kitchenette is very clean and easy to use. I requested the parking several times, but I couldn't get the answer from the hotel soon. The front clerks there were not efficient.
The closeness to the beach andWakiki Fix the Elevator
The hotel is conveniently located close to Waikiki Beach. The rooms are small but nice and clean.
location is good There are cockroaches in the room. The hallways and floors in the room are very dirty (sticky). It is ridicules that the hand basin and mirrors are not inside the bathroom. Air-conditioning is very noisy. Mattress is too soft. There's only 1 chair in a room for 2 people !
Excellent location. The hotel staff was not particularly helpful, nor very friendly.
nice environment. very comfortable flat none
Staff was wonderful, over and above expectations. rooms were old with some updates. Problems were that they installed the AC right above the bed that was pushed up against the window and wall. Noisy and kept us awake all night. NOT RESTFUL. Being that Honolulu is 80 degrees and humid all day, AC is essential, even at night. Some lights were not working, and some switches that did not work. I think if they re-arrainged the room with the bed in the middle where you could access both sides of the bed, and not be right under the AC unit, and put the couch under the window instead, it would be a more pleasant experience.
I was happy only with the location and the rate of the hotel, other than this nothing. The hotel staff attitude, cooperation and reaction was so poor regarding the interaction with the clients; The windows room were so dirty that you hardly could watch outside; The mattress incomfortable; In the 21st century it's abnormal that you can't offer an acces (a limited one - 15 -30 min) to a computer (not all the people carry with them on vacation a personal laptop), etc
the location room service, didn't come through my room until my final day, furniture microwave wasn't clean
My roommates Location Parking Facility Breakfast timings
The staff were amazingly friendly and so helpful. I absolutely LOVED Yianni! My stay was a success. Thank you so much. I will definitely be back.
Employees were stone cold chillers People where nice Close to everything felt like home Could be updated but hey it was still awesome.
