Lisbon hotels near Castelo de São Jorge

Cons: It was difficult to organize a pickup from the airport, which was understandable given the holiday and our arrival times but this was not mentioned prior. I emailed my request the day before arrival and was not sent any communication letting me know whether my request was even received (it had been, it just wasn’t fulfilled). This just made for a less than positive first impression. An email back saying this wouldn’t be possible, while presenting my other transportation options, would have gone a very long way. Especially if I had received it while I was still coherent prior to my transatlantic flight! After this first hiccup, everything was smooth sailing for the remainder of the trip.

Cons: Nothing

Cons: Evening front desk staff which blatantly pushes guests to restaurants which pay them for referrals.

Cons: You get the worst of the two worlds, old and new. The facilities are old, and oddly for a historical hotel, quite charmless. The rooms are dark, the bedding cheap, and the room furniture straight out of the seventies. Although "run-down" would be an exaggeration, the hotel seriously needs a face lift, a bit more comfort, and some taste in its decorations (throwing sloppily a hodge-podge of old-looking furniture doesn't really do it, nor holding on to carpets that haven't been changed in twenty years.) The amenities are next to non-existent (for example, the hotel does not have a restaurant.) You obviously cannot expect a historical hotel to have the same level of comfort and the same amenities as a modern one. But would it be too much to ask that a five-star try? You pay for five-star and you get a three-star.

Cons: Everything about the stay was perfect--location, rooms, breakfast, service. All outstanding.

Cons: Couldn't find one fault with this hotel. Would be delighted to find a reason to go back.

Cons: location is like 15 minutes from city center, more variety in breakfast

Cons: Rooms are nice but on the small size. The hotel public spaces is small, lack of salons, boutiques or restaurant choices.

Cons: Breakfast was not included like it was in every hotel we stayed in Portugal . The parking cost $22 extra. The room had no hair dryer

Cons: I ended up at the Altis after a very long day of travel and a disastrous Airbnb experience left me and my friends without a place to stay. Desperate, we found the Altis on Kayak with a 5-star rating and were willing to put a little extra money in given how nice the place looked in the app. Unfortunately, this ended up being a terrible experience. The staff was extremely slow and unhelpful, making us wait a very long time to get to our rooms after a very long day. Moreover, the rooms bore absolutely no resemblance to the photos we saw on the app - they were outdated, dingy, and dirty. There were hairs in our showers, and the floors were stained. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The wifi didn't work, coming in and out every few minutes. In fact, we ended our stay early given how bad the conditions were - though it took ages to do so at reception. There is no way this hotel is 5 stars and it should not be advertised as such. Personally, I would like for the hotel to compensate me in some way for such a misleading and poor experience.

Cons: Booked a superior room with courtyard view, got a small bed and not view to speak of Other hotels we stayed in Paris or Warsaw offer complimentary water, here it’s only one time on arrival and they don’t advertise it unless you ask

Cons: Elevator would not go to the correct floor. Worse elevator I have ever experienced. In bar got an orange juice. 12 ounces for 3 euros. Same server at dinner 6 ounces for 3 euros.

Cons: breakfast was terrible hotel has no caracther and is cold.

Cons: Value. Tiny rooms. Location a little fat out from all the action.
