Pros: The location was outstanding...the staff was excellent...the food was very good.
Cons: The room was too small and worn and the bathroom was ridiculous...and dirty.Don't get the Seascape Room...and don't ever pay in advance, particularly when its over $---- and a four day minimum.
Pros: The afternoon wine and cheese was terrific, the cookies were unbelievably delicious, the breakfast was large and super tasty portions. The main house architecture, walkways, additional structures were appealing to the eyes. The linens were luxurious.
Cons: There was a bad smell in our room, smelled like sewage. The smell was limited to our bedroom, the bathroom smelled clean. We never complained as we had the carriage house which had a phenomenal view of the ocean. We informed them on check-out.

Pros: My wife and I stayed at the Martine Inn during Monterey Car Week and, in spite of the elevated activity level throughout the Monterey area, Don, his Grandson and the staff took great care of us. The Inn was our welcome ocean front retreat when we needed a break. Breakfasts were very good and the afternoon "tea" was extensive and tasty. All in all, a delightful stay.
Cons: Being car week, the room rates were not a bargain but also not totally unreasonable as all area accommodations go up pretty sharply during that time. Also, the rooms are not air conditioned, which is not prominently mentioned. Though the days were pretty warm (August) the ocean front location assured that things cooled down reasonably during the evenings. Sleeping was not at all uncomfortable.
Just 4.6 mi (7.4 km) from the airport, Martine Inn puts you just a 5-minute drive from Monterey Bay Aquarium and Maritime Museum. Guests can keep active with onsite hiking/biking trails, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and full breakfast daily between 8 AM and 10 AM. Pros: The set up is great-little cabins with three floors and a garage for your car. Would be so convenient if you were traveling with a group. VERY clean. Very spacious bathrooms. Incredibly quiet.
Cons: I was on the top floor and my room had a open space high up near the ceiling in my bedroom. I'm sure it was just to hide HVAC in an aesthetically pleasing way-but as a solo traveler it made me nervous to not be able to access such a large space. Maybe ask for a 1st or 2nd floor!
Pros: Plenty of room, great staff, very well stocked continental breakfast,
quiet, high rise toilet and hot shower.

Cons: Room was very small for 2 people. The bed was poor quality. The hotel should consider some updating as it does not meet the standard of other B&Bs in this price category.

Pros: My room was updated with a very nice bathroom and modern tiled floors and shower. Very clean, great fireplace and comfortable feel.

Pros: It was nice, the room was large and the bed comfy. It was noisy at night and morning from the pluming. When upstairs was using the bathroom and shower it was so noisy I could sleep for a couple of hours;
Cons: It was noisy also in the morning and it woke me up early too.
Pros: Price, location, coziness
Pros: Charming, rustic, great location.
Pros: Excellent location.
Cons: Old carpet.
Pros: The staff was great. The room was very nice and it was large. We were within a mile of the wharf and Cannery Row.
Cons: The picture on the website must have been taken 20 years ago. The property has aged considerably but it is very well maintained.
Pros: Great location across from Asilomar and close to the ocean.
Cons: Rooms are very dated and worn out. Carpet and bedspread seemed new-ish, but just about everything else was run down or looked pre-1990s. Some lights didn't work and many things were sticky/dirty - remote, lights, knobs. Fireplace nice in another season.
Had fireplaces in the room
Pros: Close to the beach
Cons: Water was very chlorinated
Pros: Liked the in-room fireplace, warm reception from staff, wifi, wine social hour
Cons: Some loud plumbing noises at times
Cute cabin feel and nice beach neighborhood without being busy like Monterrey. Local business and restaurant choices is limited.
Pros: Location, quiet neighborhood near the state beach. Cozy feel with cottages and fireplaces.

A garden and 2 spa tubs are other highlights, and rooms offer up nice touches like fireplaces and Tempur-Pedic beds with premium linens.
Cons: Family rooms are right between staircases that are outside looking into your room. Very loud from other rooms. Seemed old and poorly insulated. Outdoor lighting shined in Windows. Definitely felt dirty in rooms, beds very uncomfortable. Have to be honest because I read people's reviews that liked it and that's why we took family there. Poor decision! Will not recommend or return...
Pros: Building architecture
Room cleanliness, size, quality of material. sheets, etc.
Cons: The heater blows right on the bes and makes sleelinping very uncomfortable when turned on.
Pros: Location was fine. Spacious room. Bed was comfortable. Gas fireplace warmed the room.
Cons: Crowded breakfast room. Furnishings were tired. Some voices from neighboring room through the wall. Bathroom sink drained slowly and needed to be cleaned.
Pros: We had a nice large room with a fireplace and vaulted ceilings. Nicely decorated. Very clean. Parking right out front. Comfortable bed. Everything we needed was already in our room.

Rooms offer up nice touches like fireplaces and down comforters, along with flat-screen TVs and refrigerators.
Pros: Great breakfast, excellent cookies and wine social hour, friendly and helpful staff, cozy rooms, convenient location.
Pros: Excellent location two blocks from beach, two blocks from restaurants. This is an old restored Victorian home and they have stuck to the theme throughout. Lots of flowered wallpaper and antique furniture. Beds are comfortable. TV. Nice gardens.
Cons: Some of the staff were not as hospitable as I would expect in an inn.

Pros: The quiet setting and the close proximity to beach. The staff was outstanding. Very friendly and helpful.
Pros: It was very clean and quiet. Close to beach and shopping. Very happy with the hotel.
Pros: Great location very near beach and Asilomar.
Cons: Not nearly as pretty as the website pictures.
Pros: The location is excellent.
Cons: The wifi link for the Internet was somewhat poor. Very slow download and upload speed.. It was good enough for email but nothing else. If you need it as a business traveller, it may not suffice.
The fire pit outside the office is awesome. It would have been nice to have breakfast out there but my children are lazy to get up, I had to bring the breakfast in our room.
Pros: The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. The location is great close to everything.
Cons: The street is by our room and it's kind a noisy and noticeable. They definitely have to replace the pillows they get so flat and the bed, I don't know what they can do about them but to replace them eventually. I had backache when I woke up in the morning.
Pros: The room was updated. Newly done landscaping. Location was quiet in the late hours. Person at checkin was courteous and helpful.
Cons: The bed was hard and uncomfortable.
Cons: Late breakfast.
Pros: Location! It was convenient to all of the restaurants and shops in this beautiful seaside town. None within walking distance but short drives to all.
Cons: Just a couple of the other guests who chose to talk rather loudly at 2:30 AM outside. Everyone had their windows open .
Pros: Highly under-rated. Inn-keepers were kind, inviting and informative. Newly remodeled, 5 stars for cleanliness, comfort and convenience. Walk to Asilomar was short block, half the distance compared to many rooms on grounds.
Cons: Can't think of one thing. It was quiet, beds were very comfortable, water pressure for shower was great, fireplace with heater offered nice vib, fire pit table was delightful in cool morning. Hope good reviews will not hike prices! They deserve kudos
Pros: Walking distance to Asilomar Beach. Pleasant staff. Pet friendly rooms.
Cons: Driving directions from MapQuest
Pros: This was a lovely, clean, quiet, spacious room with a great bed! It was as close as you could get to Asilomar Conference Center - which is where I was going. It went beyond my expectations for the price.
The Deer Haven Inn is located in a very quiet and residential neighbourhood. From the outside it looks like an ordinary motel -the name of the place may have been misleading in that sense- but as soon as we stepped inside our room we were reassured that we had made a good choice. I suggest walking along the coast or around the older part of the town, then finding a nice restaurant for dinner (mostly accessible by car).
Pros: An excellent deal for the price that we paid, with a clean and spacious room. Almost everything was brand-new inside: a large and comfy bed, a dining table and a fridge, the decor, etc. and there was even a fireplace.
Cons: The breakfast provided was minimal, but it was nice to grab a little something to eat before getting back on the road the next morning. One of the receptionists was rather rude, but the other one - warm and friendly - more than made up for it.
Deer Haven Inn puts you within a 10-minute drive of Monterey Bay Aquarium and Point Pinos Lighthouse. Free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with fireplaces and pillowtop beds.
Pros: Comfortable bed, clean room, slate tile in bathroom, refrigerator that wasn't noisy in the middle of the night!
Pros: Stone tiled shower. Large back patio shaded with tree. Location near ocean walking paths and town..
Cons: Terrible breakfast- just commercial muffins cut in half.
Pros: We stayed in the delux queen cottage and it was perfect! Newly remodeled, spacious, private and quiet with a kitchenette. The cottages don't share walls and have lovely views of landscaping and trees. Wish we would have stayed longer, we will be back.
Pros: Beautiful décor is the icing on the cake for this newly remodeled hotel. Tiled bathrooms and pillow top mattresses combined with spacious closets and effective kitchenettes created a down-home luxurious feeling. Easily accessible from the parking lot, the room's manually locked doors allowed you to enter your home-away from home. In addition to all the typical amenities of vending and Wi-Fi, the beautifully tailored grounds were punctuated by a pool, Jacuzzi and fire pit. This affordable hotel had a feeling of opulence that doesn't break the bank.
Cons: That I had to leave!
Pros: the room is very beautiful and comfort. The front desk is very helpful. My families love this place very much!

Pros: Very nice welcoming staff. Had an issue with the remote for the TV and had immediate attention to reset and program it. Nice breakfast area with sufficient variety of food, coffee, tea, orang juice, milk, fresh fruit, cereals (hot n cold), variety of breads to toast, make it yourself waffles, and boiled eggs. Just a short walk to the beach.
Cons: Mildew in the shower, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, dirty remote control, filthy doors, bugs (e.g. tick) in the room.
Pros: The Rosedale Inn is understated when looking at it from the outside but the interior is all very modern and high quality. The rooms look as if they've just been upgraded because the bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub and all contemporary features. The setting is also great--wonderful wooded area.
At Rosedale Inn, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Monterey Bay Aquarium and Point Pinos Lighthouse. Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast available daily. Rooms offer upscale touches like fireplaces and jetted tubs, along with kitchenettes and LCD TVs.

Pros: Rooms were very clean and very nice. Would definitely recommend.
Pros: Well worth the money, and what a fabulous rate they have for bring practically beachfront! Very accommodating and helpful. Great breakfast too!!
Cons: That we only stayed for one night! Can't wait to go back and stay longer.
Pros: We had a wonderful time! Very close to the beach and Monterey! Pacific grove is such a beautiful area
Cons: They charged me a different rate for the second night. When I booked on booking.com it get me a flat rate
Pros: Clean room. Breakfast as described and plentiful. Good location.
Cons: Pool and hot tub were not very clean
Pros: It was so cozy and felt homey. I did not want to leave. Very clean and just overall an awesome stay
Cons: That i did not stay longer
Pros: friendlyness, cleanlyness
Pros: Great place. Awesome rooms.
Pros: Location, convenience, privacy in cottage
Cons: everything was good
Pros: good location.
Cons: The rooms were small , smelled like cigerette smoke in a non-smoking room(they would not give us another room) -my girlfiend is allergic ! not good.
The view outside our window was a bunch of construction supplies thrown behing our building. The shower never got hot.
I was trying to do something special for my soon to be wife. She was mad/unhappy our entire trip.
When you stay at Sea Breeze Inn And Cottages, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Monterey Bay Aquarium and Point Pinos Lighthouse. Free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Rooms feature conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: Great place to stay! Convenient location, receptive staff, clean rooms.
Cons: Setting for continental breakfast requires more space.
Pros: Location was great!
Cons: Old!!! things breaking like door handle and tub/sink not draining!!! Smells like dust! I have allergies!
Pros: Very clean comfortable pillows.
When you stay at Monarch Resort, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Monterey Bay Aquarium and Point Pinos Lighthouse. Guests can get a morning swim in at the outdoor pool, and the spa tub makes for a relaxing end to the day. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves, along with free WiFi and free wired Internet.
Cons: Our room had no TV, no microwave, no fridge, no phone, no pad and pen, basically it was just shelter.
Pros: It reminded us of the Yosemite Flair. Coming from Sweden it was just outstanding!
Pros: Conference grounds were gorgeous, lots of little walking trails and directly across from the ocean.
Cons: My room had poor air circulation and was always way too hot. Blinds on the bathroom window did not close properly and the windows didn't have screens on them. There were also 2 or 3 lamp posts just outside my bedroom window, meaning I had to deal with lots of light pollution when trying to sleep. Site has open wi-fi, but it is unavailable in most conference rooms. Most food and services on site are decent, but rather overpriced.
Pros: Stayed for one night.
Loved the amazing location, how clean and spacious the room was, and the comfortable beds.
Cons: Didn't care much for the cafe employee, who was rude and forgetful.
Pros: I loved the grounds- they were beautiful
Cons: That we we're put in the wrong room at first but they corrected it

Pros: Perfect for families with young kids and dogs. Five minutes from Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Roe. Just around the corner from 17 Mile Drive gate. Convenient parking.
Cons: Rooms and resort dated and a bit run down. Could be a little cleaner. Continental breakfast area overcrowded and toasters not all working. Night front desk clerk not very friendly.
Pros: The location
Cons: Very poor wifi, and poor phone service. Breakfast was very minimal without much selection.
Pros: Cute room, the room was clean.
Cons: The back of our room was facing a cemetery. And the landscape hadn't been maintained for quite sometime.
Pros: we had deer right in front of our patio door! And the grounds were nice. The beds were also comfortable. The free wifi was easy to use too. The location is great.
Cons: Our patio sliding door didn't have a screen so when we opened the door for ventilation I noticed a couple of mosquitoes. And when exploring the cemetery that our room faced I noticed that other rooms in our building had screens on their doors. The room also had a weird smell when we first got there. while the sheets were clean the carpet had several stains and there were a lot of scratches and marks on the walls. And considering the price and how easy it would be to cover them with touch up paint, I was disappointed with the quality...not to mention our room was described as having a fireplace and ours did not.
Pros: The area, peaceful and seanic.
Cons: The area it is in
Pros: Rooms are upgraded and very nice, great location, pleasant staff.
Cons: The "Lodge" is in one location across the street from the picturesque "Cottages". The "Lodge" rooms are more of a typical Motel, with upstairs rooms and downstairs rooms (thus neighbors can be noisy if you are downstairs). Cottages are the pics you see and are beautiful, if you are staying there, which can be misleading as there are no two double bed rooms in the cottages. All two bed rooms are in lower level in the "Lodge". What really upset us is the two levels of service. In the "Cottages" there is a beautiful main dining area for meals/wine/fire pits, but you can't use it if you are staying in the "Lodge" rooms. The "Lodge" rooms get a very cramped continental breakfast that would be sub-par for a Super 8.
Pros: The views were excellent. Proximity to other attractions was a plus.
Cons: Second day breakfast had no meat items.
Pros: The room was nice and spacey. The fireplace was a nice addition even though we didn't use it. It's a good location to see things in Monterey bay, walking or driving. The breakfast is a good deal.
Cons: We tried to check in and was told our room wouldn't be ready for 30-45 minutes. They suggested we come back or wait. No explanation was given and there were absolutely no apologies or signs of inconvenience.
They only gave us 3 towels for the room and when we asked for more because we were going to the pool it seemed super inconvenient for them or like it wasn't allowed.
Be aware of the mosquitoes in the area. We left the door open and a lot got in the room. Be aware the space behind the hotel is a cemetery.
Pros: It was very charming with the cemetery and light house within walking distance.
Cons: Shower doors and floor tile could use some Tilex
Pros: Reviews of this property are rather unfair. It is well kept and the room was very nice and clean. It appears to be recently updated. It does back up to a cemetery but that didn't bother us and provided for a view of the grazing deer. Internet worked well and the fire-pit was a great place to relax.
Cons: The breakfast was cold, tasteless and for the most part empty trays of food were offered. Rubber egg frisbees, cold under cooked potatoes and slimy oatmeal. Bring your own breakfast! Other than the breakfast things were good.
Pros: Perfect space for us. A little balcony which was nice because we have a one-year-old that goes to bed at 7:30. Short walk to the coast and out of the way of the touristy business of Monterey.
Cons: Only like three chairs at the pool. Sliding doors to balcony very stubborn.
Lighthouse Lodge is a 95 room cape cod style property nestled at the tip of the Monterey Peninsula. The Cottage rooms offer plush king sized beds, fireplaces; along with a chef prepared breakfast and afternoon wine reception. The Lodge property offers the option of King or two double bed rooms that come with a hot American buffet breakfast each morning. All of our rooms include a microwave, mini refrigerator, complimentary parking and wireless internet.
Pros: Other than location, not much to like about this property, although couldn't really see water from the property
Cons: Room old & dirty. TV didn't work. No roof top access. Lots of boarded up rooms. Not a good experience.
Pros: Location was perfect and Juliana was absolutely wonderful! She was so helpful and funny, she even recommended a fabulous restaurant across the street for us and gave us a free appetizer. Beds were comfortable, there were no noises or anything, and breakfast was basic but good. Can't go wrong!
Cons: Parking garage was only open on one end and turning around in there was challenging.
Pros: It's across the street from the water. Would you believe that this place has mostly ocean view rooms for this price! I sat in the morning in my room drinking my coffee and looking at the water or watching people walking down the beach from my window. The beds are clean, bathroom is good, people at the front desk are happy and friendly. A little noisy since the building is older and lots of families stay there. But everything else is great! Couldn't ask for more.
Pros: Good location, right at Lover's Point. The free WiFi was good enough to stream a kids show via Netflix.
Cons: Very noisy with thin walls. The rooms are on the small side with an odd layout. However, it has everything you need for a short stay.
Pros: This hotel depends on its superior location for its business. The facility otherwise is lacking in every other category. There are too many better hotels in the area for the price.
Cons: It would behoove the owners to spend a little money on this facility as it is run down and inoperative. What work was done was not to any professional level i.e. shower stalls with large holes where the installer completely missed the plumbing opening. We complained that the drain was so slow that standing water backed up 4" deep. Came back that night with no repair. Also came back to an room that had not been cleaned. AM staff would only ARGUE that there was a do not disturb sign on door. We did not leave one.
Pros: The location and staff was friendly. Had a mini fridge and microwave which is all you really need. Very clean and had a nice little tv.
Cons: The bed was extremely uncomfortable. I'm not sure if the walls are very thin or because our room was a Couple feet from where the cars park but you could hear every little sound outside of the room. The people above us had lead feet as well buts that's not necessarily the hotels fault.
Pros: Price, Breakfast was OK, ocean across the street, breakfast was OK, refrigerator in room was a plus, close to where I needed to go.
Cons: Below parking felt dicey, rooms need upgrading.
Cons: Garbage trucks outside window at 6 AM
Broken heater with poor substitute heat source
Parking lot view w/no assigned parking
Very dated and worn: bordered on shabby
Pros: Location was amazing!
Cons: The hotel was extremely loud which is a challenge when traveling with a toddler. Most of the staff was helpful but I found Julianna to be rude and abrupt. When asking about a place to get bagels she pointed behind her and said "check lighthouse Ave." even though she had a map in front of her she did not help with directions. Also not helpful during a power outage. I had to ask them for a flashlight! They didn't even check to see if we needed anything.
Cons: Small room, wich seamed a little run down
Pros: Beach front view and lower level is better easy access to the road and taxis
Cons: Lady at customer service was really rude. Had to take a taxi to fisherman's warf and aquarium since didn't want to pay for parking there but it is not a walk away from hotel it's a drive, bathroom was not clean and very very tiny.
Pros: The location was fantastic, and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: The facilities were outdated and there was some water in the parking area.

Cons: Rude employees
Worn down dirty rooms with cockroaches crawling around
Too disgusting to make coffee in the morning
Pros: Cleanliness of the room was a plus! Very easy and comfortable place to stay... minutes from Asilomar Beach.
Cons: Complimentary breakfast was meager, and by 8:30 AM, most things were out and needed to be replenished. Staff probably would have replenished, but a little bit of spilled syrup on the floor disrupted their attention to customer service. Several guests (including me) stood around, hoping that they'd restock the breakfast area, but they never did as they scurried (somewhat senselessly) to find someone to mop the floor. They could easily have attended to their guests on hand at the same time.
Pros: convenient location
Cons: the unit had a gas leak and we woke up at 3am with a headache, they changed the room in the middle of the night, but it was a huge inconvenience, the new room the heater didnt work well
