romantic room was very small for the amount paid.
excellent location, good room
My wife and I were impressed with the hotel from the minute we walked into the lobby. The receptionist and bell hop could not have been more hospitable. The decor was elegant, and the spa and work out facilities were state of the art. In addition to this, the nearness to the Boulevard St. Germaine de Pres, boutiques, and cafes was excellent.
Staff, decor, location size of bathroom - very small
Location, staff and cleanliness No
Sympathetic environment. Very good location Too expensive for what it is. There was no hot water in our room (room 406) and the concierge did nothing about it. We had to leave the next morning. Not a good experience. The room was very small and the price was huge. 570 euros, plus breakfast 50 euros for two......May I ask why?
I had serious problems in the hotel with payment by credit cards. For sure tecnical devices on the reception must to be checked. It was really very unpleased to be learned that you can't pay by your credit card then you know that there are enough money on this card...
the best part of the hotel is the location and its good breakfast When i arrived at night on a prepaid reservation the reception staff tried to send me to another hotel nearby claiming the room had suffered damage and was unavailable. After a full day of travelling and not having received an advance notice of the "event" I suspected this was a trick used by an overçbooked hotel. I demanded to see the damages and this the supposed manager was unable to show me, so after a little voice raisingf on my part all of the sudden the room became available. I left that the hotel reception made to lie to me their paying customer . Two more managers emerged and during my short saty the hotel personel made me feel as if they had made me and my wife a favor by letting us stay in the hotel for which I had PREPAID my stay. I can only imagine if my reservation was not prepaid I would have been in the street looking for a hotel room
Location, Location, Location!!! Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a fabulous area and you can walk to many interesting sites and shops. As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe and welcome at the hotel and in the area. The room I was assigned had a view of a generator that was a bit noisy in the early morning hours. Beware of Room 106 travelers!! Other than that everything was great!!
Location is very good
The location is ideal for a trip to Paris. Plenty of restaurants, cafes. public transportation. The bed was very comfortable. Like most hotels in France (and Europe) this so-called "Superior" room was tiny.
Everything about this hotel was amazing. We loved the location, the luxury and the care and attention the staff gave us. The decoration and design was very welcoming. And the bikes the hotel provides for free are great to take along the river.
The location and the kindness of the staff. Room are very small. Hotel is very expensive.
The quietness and comfortable beds...the friendly and helpful staff!
great service temperature control in gym was dysfunctional
the place, the decoration, the people , the services, the bar They shoud be more careful because they gave me a late check-out till 2 pm and when i arrive at 12h30 I found my luggage at the lobby. This is ultrageous. I understand that late check-out is a courtesy and i cant complain. But's better not to assure guests of one thing you later will not deliver ...
Charming old hotel with very experienced staff. Only breakfast was very expensive.
Staff were very friendly and efficient--location excellent and "honesty" bar was a nice friendly touch.
Room (Junior Suite) was well appointed and comfortable, with an impressive view of Paris from the balcony.
Location, service Breakfast ok but not great eg bread average, pastries mediocre
This is a modern, clean, comfortable hotel in a prime location in St. Germain, near the Musee d'Orsay, an upscale area with good restaurants nearby . It is not a particularly tourist-oriented neighborhood and many shops were closed for August vacation. However a Metro stop one block from the hotel provides convenient access to other arrondisements and neighborhoods. The concierge desk was most helpful in making restaurant reservations, arranging a taxi to the airport, and answering questions. The room, though fairly small (this is Paris!), was comfortable and had many convenience features.
Concierge service was very good, reasonably quiet, bed comfortable, bar was nice, bath was clean room was very small, location just ok, very expensive (breakfast 27 euro, or about $40 each) bar drinks expensive, room very expensive for the size and quality
The location was excellent- close to shopping on the Ledt Bank and also convenient to the Louvre, D'Orsey, and transportation around the city. Also, the staff was very helpful, assisting us obtaining dinner reservations and in helping us with language issues, etc..
the bed was so comfortable and the room was very nice. No enough space for the luggage or in room dinning.
The hotel is marvelous...great location on the Left Bank, close to Musee Orsey. The restaurant attached to the hotel, L'Atelier is world class and a must visit! We will return to this property the next time we are in Paris no
Great location, slightly older hotel but in great condition, very clean. I enjoyed the old photos in the hallways although I felt the decor in my room was lacking. The hairdryer in the bathroom was awesome, very powerful! I didn't like that I had to buy an adapter - I came from a hotel in Munich that allowed guests to rent.
Staff was courteous, rooms were clean, location was great, restaurant/ bar in lobby great. I didn't like that I had to buy an adapter. Most hotels lend them and have it in the rooms. I'm staying in London now and there is an adapter for free. I didn't like that there was a charge for hi speed internet. Low speed was free but u had to pay for high speed, seems silly.
A luxe hotel with a friendly staff. We had a tidy deluxe-room with a balcony and a clean bathroom; there was a various, tastefull breakfast and the hotel has a nice and comfortable bar, lounge- and tearoom. Next to our room there was a compressor/aircondition machine which gave a noisy sound during the night. The air in the room was musty(although the room was very clean).
The staff were all fabulously helpful.
Fantastic location. Right next to a main subway stop that made it perfect for infra-city travel. Staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Highly recommend Some road noise from the city streets while sleeping. Although I think this is overall hard to avoid in downtown Paris. It certainly should not hinder you from selecting this hotel
i liked a lot the people working there , very nice and friendly some of the rooms were not well lit , hence it was uncomfortable for packing and reading also the safe gave me a lot of trouble it wasnt working properly lift too small and not enough for staff and guests
Location is perfectly central - 100meters from the Seine opposite the Louvre. Hotel is compact and upstairs corridors only fit one person at a time but is the most unique, quirky and original design I have ever seen (You must see to believe!). The room was small but amazing and I believe every room is decorated differently. I would recommend anyone to stay here and when they do - book the private plunge pool and steam room for yourself for an hour in the morning. Take time to sit in the bar drawing room to sip a drink 100 years back in time. Staff were very friendly and practically ran my life for 2 days with all the questions they answered for me!
The restaurant is fantastic, and overall the hotel ambience was good. Location good too. No shower! not even a clip to hang the shower attachment on! Small bath. No mini bar. Not enough room to swing a cat in. 'Shabby chic' definitely the correct description as rooms very tired decor wise - handle even dropped off the wardrobe door. Ridiculously, outrageously overpriced!!!!!
The special atmosfear of the hotel
Unusual hotel - funky decor Swimming pool is tiny. First day and a half no hot water. Restaurant was closed
The facility exceeded expectations as well as the staff and the room. I was fortunately upgraded, possibly because the restaurant was closed for a day due to a Fashion shoot in the hotel. I couldn't have been more pleased with everything.
Quirky idiosyncatic place with character. Excellent location. We loved it.
Critically understaffed probably due to so many French employees taking summer holidays. Found broken glasses left unattended around the poolside. No running hot water during my stay, but given discounted rate and very commited staff (although few in numbers) and the manager, after all satisfactory. Yet I doubt if I want to come back on special occasions and never on summer holiday season.
extremely friendly staff - small, but cosy room - nice and tasteful furniture private pool in the cellar was a bit strange (resembling a dungeon) but in some way also funny and romantic
Very quiet for the centre of the city yet very close to restaurants, cafes, gardens, culture, metro etc. Large windows that opened onto old buildings and a courtyard and all we could hear was singing from the nearby church The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Room was a bit small and the door was very difficult to unlock!
Excellent front desk staff, also in the bar/restaurant although service there a bit on the slow side. Rooms well designed but like most Paris hotels a bit on the 'compact' side. See above - not much room in the room, although for a two night stopover perfectly acceptable. Great bathroom - unusually good Parisian plumbing!
Good Location A bit pricey for what you get. Although a few of the hotel staff were very nice and helpful, for the most part they were not. Trying to get a cab at 5am was not fun
Central friendly staff Food poor value for money meal at night expensive and not particuarly good
great location. Great rooms. Unbeatable comfort.
Staff; location price was much higher than suggested
Reception. The shower water escapes and floods the bathroom floor.
It was fine, just what we wanted. the lift is too small, but I appreciate the diffficulties of placing a new lift into a protected structure
Location was great - lots of shopping and we walked all over Paris from the hotel to visit galleries and the Montparnasse tower for the best view of the city. Quite noisy from building site and road opposite our 3rd floor room. We couldn't make the air con cool our room and did mention this to reception but they didn't seem to do anything.
Feeling like at home. We need more towels and papers. But it is not critical.
Ease of acess to central Paris. Facilities allowed the option to dine in room.
service it was cold in the room
Great location very easily reachable by rer and metro line 4. size of the rooms very good compared to classic Paris hotels. helpful staff. I can definitelty recommend it. Free internet but was not working that day. a minor problem...
Big apartment, excellent location Cleaning of the room only once a week, sometimes missed the wake up calls
the location the staff was not helpful at all and they made two mistakes - we askes for the room to be cleaned it was forgotten we asked for a taxi to be arranged to go to the airport at the day of our departure it was again forgotten and nobody from the staff even cared to apologise
The hotel is really well situated in the centre of Paris, close to main museums and attractions, with considerable variety of small shops and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Our room was rather spacious and quiet, with comfortable beds and efficient air-conditioning. Not everything has been checked and fixed in the room. That necessitated some small repairs and delayed us a bit on the first day.
Fantastic rooms, great for groups and very good value for money for such a central location
Good staff: good internet: excellent room facilities: excellent location: clean
We appreciate special kind treatment received from Manager Mr. Trinh and all nice employees at front desk. We enjoyed our short stay at Paris, and felt very comfortable staying at your Hotel. We will recommend this facility, as well as we will return to this place in a future visit to Paris. We have already sent a mail to Manager thanking for our experience. Best cordial regards, Abel Domenech
Excellent location, hotel is very new and comfortable, staff very helpful Rooms are a bit noisy. Internet is not free of charge.
Very good hotel with convinient location,an exellent service and staff
Locality Being charged for wireless broadband. Breakfast was fairly poor with powdered scrambled eggs.
location is close to the train metro and the RER to the airport. Lots to see and do in this area. the room is a little dark
Location and the rooftop view. Nothing really outstanding. Elevators are odd. Staff was mostly indifferent. Room was small (about as large as a typical cruise ship room). Wi-Fi worked but not well.
the location it was to hot in the room
Location and the roof too small room, the bath - all the water splashed out of the bath. and the water didnt go down the drain
The location is fabulous. Easy access to subway, bus, and taxis. Many choices for dining and shopping. The front desk staff was helpful. A shuttle service (add'l charge) was available for our trip back to the airport. We had to ask for shampoo, soap, and instant coffee refills. Cleaning staff was not attentive to these details. One the positive side, when these issues were pointed out they were corrected promptly.
good location, very good service at reception desk the large window between room and bathroom is really strange .. is disturbing to have no privacy while using the bathroom
We had 3 rooms. Two were the small standard double rooms and one was an Executive Room with Eiffel Tower view on the 8th floor. The Executive room/Eiffel Tower view had a balcony. This room was also much larger than the standard rooms. Definitely worth the higher cost! The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked well. Perfect location to Seine, Notre Dame, Louvre - walking distance. I would stay here again!
The hotel was recently renovated so it's modern. Free internet service was very good. Excellent AC, especially for France. Well located. Most of the rooms are tiny. We reserved the largest room they had which was very comfortable, though still small by USA standards. Worth the higher cost for the large room.
Room service was tasty, the hotel is lovely and very well located, overall service is good, hotel is very clean. We were out mostly, but it was lovely while we were there. It was a great experience overall, but we did sit at the bar for a drink for a long while (yes, they knew we were there) and no one served us- some one else was having a drink there already as well. We also had some dirty, wet cleaning rags left in our room on a suitcase. No big deal, but just noted. Our room was tiny. Also, the front desk staff seemed stressed out and although ultimately helpful, they were rather brisk. Please note that our French is very limited, so this is likely just miscommunication on our part.
This hotel was in a great location, walkable to the Louvre (15min) Notre Dame (20min) and with many great restaurants and bars very close by. We took a guided tour with an English speaking guide to Versaille, booked through the front desk - it was great and I would recommend it. The breakfast is overpriced @ 29Euro per person, but there are many other options nearby.
the service very satisfactory and the location at heart of st germain the croissants are regular, not the best i have had in paris, though the salads and the cheese platters are excellent
My clients were delited with this Hotel. You made us look good. The Hotel went beyond our expectations. Only regret: To Good.
very modern, clean hotel. loved the location and the surrounding amenities one had access to by walking. granted was in france, but did miss having an english speaking channel other than the bbc news channel.
Friendly service and comfortable room with a nice view of the Eifel Tower.
Staff and rooms were very nice. Location is close to shopping and various tourist destinations.
the view and location of the hotel and that it has modern mobiliary that they did not have laundry on sunday and that they don´t have efficient taxi service.
great location, great breakfast
Excellent location, superb staff, and great breakfast. Lobby bar too small
The location, only 1/2 block from the Seine and 1 block form Notre Dame on the left bank was superb!
Very nice location in the heart of Paris
The location was the best thing about the hotel, it was in an excellent area. The room was also very comfortable and clean. The breakfast dining area was cramped and the selection of food was quite small. For the price of 400 euros for two nights we thought the breakfast wasn't good value.
I was very disappointed that the hotel had no working air conditioning. I had specifically wanted a room with air conditioning and the room was very hot. We were unable to sleep with the windows open as it was very noisy due to the location. A consequent to this was I had 2 very poor nights sleep. They did eventually give me a fan. The staff saw no urgency in sorting out the problem. The breakfast was a 'shelf' of food and you were only able to have 1 croissant each. This certainly didn't warrant the hotel being 4 star. It was a tiny room and the choice and selection of food was poor.
Close proximity to Metro and several of the sites.
Staff's help with forward flight bookings
The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The location is excellent for shopping , transportation and eating out. Everything on your doorstep. The breakfast room is extremely small and uncomfortable. Breakfast for that room price should be much better.
very small breakfast hall and very little choice of breakfast and impolite staff
Perfect location, kind personnel. Elevator.
The hotel was clean, well located in a very attractive area of Paris, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. No
I like the location and the lobby lounge atmosphere I think the rate for my standard doublr room is a bit high and particularly the room decor is so out dated.
great location, very nice clean comfortable rooms, free wifi, nice breakfast. no complains
Excellent location, very clean, friendly and helpful staff
Excellent hotel at a charming place. Although in the Latin Quarter, still in a peaceful street. Walking distance to many places. Very nice decoration, very helpful staff. Our room was spacious given Paris standards. Definitely would stay again. The bed was soft and noisy.
The room is a little bit small for a suite.
Superb location and wonderful experienced staff who know how to look after their customers well. A fantastic experience and well worth the cost!!
Fantastic location, beautiful hotel, perfect for romantic break
Fantastic friendly staff and fantastic position
I liked the location and the beautiful fireplace in the lounge. We enjoyed the quietness in the bedroom. We thought the room was too small.
Although the room was smallish (perhaps not by Parisian standards), it was immaculate and beautifully maintained. The staff were unfailingly helpful and polite. The public areas on the ground floor were accessible and tastefully decorated and provided the full range of services one might want. And the location--I know the inner city pretty well, and better is very hard to imagine. Room service for breakfast was a little uneven; two of three mornings an item was missing from a relatively short, simple order. That said, the coffee and juice were superb.
Hotel location is very good, walking distance to Ils de la Cite, close to a Metro/RER station. Rooms are very clean and bathrooms are new.
Staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Rooms very clean and of a good size for Paris. Worth asking for a room with a veiw out over the skyscape of the city.
Room was compact and had everything I needed. It was clean. Very good location. STaff were all congenial and pleasant. A single room that is as small as this one was can cause claustrophobia over ten days of stay. The bed was too near the window and when the weather was bad I was cold. You should offer larger rooms for singles on a longer stay. I would have been happy to pay extra but no one told me. I found it hard to hear cnn as it had a quieter audio setting than the other stations. More movies and interesting programs needed. Single people do not stay out late into the night so they some entertainment in their room for evening.
Excellent front desk staff, especially the pleasant, very friendly and helpful Oriental lady at the reception counter..patient too, smiles a lot ( unusual in many French hotel staff) goes the second mile for guests.Clean and central, very walkable to many "must- sees" in Paris None that we can think of ...except the room would benefit from a refitting ( especially new wall paper) to match the bathroom which was a well renovated one.
Very bad experiences I got with that particular hotel, most guest been awaked from sleep at 3:00 O'clock in the morning by a defective fire alarm systems. Most of us been gathered at the hotel reception at a cold nightwearing only a light pyjama some half dresses !!!!! Nothing in particular even they been in shortage at breakfest with french baguetteand tea spoon , incredible !!!
Hotel staff was really very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was very good. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned and the rooms are small.
The localization was perfect, it's vis a vis Sorbona and near Luxemburg Garden. In my triple room there was no coffe service and no ironing kit as they wrote in an offer.
Location, helpful receptionists. Had to use antiquated, tiny, scary elevator or walk up a lot of stairs. Also, the street noise at night, yelling street people and motorcycles rushing by, was pretty bad.
Very friendly staff. Gives a very personalised feeling during my stay.
the staff was very kind and the demand for a nice view was respected.breakfast was served at very practical hours and it was very nicely located.the elevator was really nice and aristocratic. our room was not ready by 5 pm in the afternoon by a mistake and the cleaning lady did not want to do it late in the afternoon. so we spent a night in another room and then we have changed it. but the staff has offered us the breakfast in order to compensate which was kind.
Location and atmosphere
Location was excellent. Very friendly staff room was small. Room telephone system old analogue type making joint business conference calls via bridge challenging
it's a nice place yo spend several nights. wonderful friendly staff doing their best to make your visit as comfortable as possible i had an allergy on a soap with what they clean sheets
Louis II is a perfect blend of hospitality and comfort. Every detail, from helping me set up wifi to recommending local events was given with every attention and care. I cannot compliment the staff enough who greeted me every morning by name. I breakfasted twice, a buffet set with delicious and filling food. Boiled eggs, yoghurt, cereal, toast, croissants, jams, juice and a large pot of coffee will set you up for any day in Paris. My room and indeed the hotel was spotless, comfortable and wonderfully charming and I enjoyed sleeping with the window ajar hearing the sounds of the city going to sleep and waking. Location is ideal with easy walking to the sites of Paris and the RER/Metro. Will certainly return.
Location Low bed
nice breakfast deliveed to the room at no extra charge
Staff, location, decoration, ambiance It was overpriced when I compared to similar hotels around when I took a walk
Lovely hotel in a great location. Many restaurants, cafes and shopping. The staff was kind and courteous. Our room was extremely small but very quaint. Small room, noisy street, bar below our window
Centra nice rooms
Location, location, location :) The bed is quite soft
location smaaaaall room
Location No smooking
good location for major attractions, staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast very expensive for what you received, mini bar outrageously expensive. Our bathroom had a huge column in it preventing us from opening or closing the shower door and had to step into the shower completely to turn on water. room temp not adjustable, we paid more to have laundry done then we actually paid purchasing the items. felt we should have been warned about expense.
Location superb - couldn't be more central. Fascinating history to the hotel, built in 1480, and where William Burroughs wrote the naked Lunch. Room very comfortable. Bathroom on the small side, and could do with updating. No Tea/Coffee in room.
location -- busy area of Paris but very quiet concierge not much help. hotel looked a little tired since we last stayed there -- and so loved it -- in 1998
exclent friendly stuff just because them i can stay there once more. elevator.
Wi Fi could have been faster
Ideal location, short walking distance to River Sienne, Louvre, Notre Dame etc. Room very quiet and peacefull despite close proximity to the usual tourest attractions.
quiet but central location, beautiful room, understated but efficient service Curtains could cover the windows better, but overall excellent.
The shower was terrific. Entire bathroom though small very well designed. Good bed. Nice and quiet. Breakfast very nice as well. Little light so hard to see inside of closet.
The hotel is located in the real centre of Paris. The building is old and nicely restaurated. Service is good. The bathroom is quite small but is arrangaed in a clever way. However, the door to the bathroom let all sounds come out - good for one person, not so good for two.
location is very good Rooms claustrophobically small. Airconditioning cannot be regulated in the room, was warm the first day, we had to open the window. Second day was better. Bed is 1.90 m; too small for me. Pillows not nice. Find it difficult to believe that this a four star hotel; price way too high.
The hotel was well located for my needs and the staff, in particular, one gentleman, was excellent and helpful. Not really
location, location, location
great location, comfortable room
Excelent location. Good hotel staff. Very comfortable. High hotel rates. Unnecessary (ex. minibar).
great location, comfortable hotel
comfortable good position
Free wireless internet and friendly English speaking staff Nothing
I like the Madison but I thought their staff was indifferent, only a couple of the front staff was nice the rest was just ...well indifferent. I hate to mentioned this but one had a really bad body odor. Common how can they allowed that, he works in the front! end of rant. The hotel was recently renovated and they did a beautiful job with the decoration. However, if it was up to me I would remove the the black chair on the corner. We couldn't sit on it because the nightstand and the desk blocked access to it. The faucet in the bathroom was annoying to use because you can only get hot water if you turn the knob on high?!?!? Sorry for being negative but I think it need to be said. I would recommend this hotel and will probably go back because I like the 6th arrondisement.
Due to the Euro and GBP being one for one, the hotel worked out a little expensive, but they upgraded us foc to a bigger room due to renovations being carried out, lovely hotel would stay again.
courtesy of the staff
