9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely guest house, Ideal location for getting around the island. Short walk to the town, beach and pier where there are plenty of restaurants/bars. The walk back is up hill. Owners very helpful, nothing was too much trouble - small bar where we finished our evening off each night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the friendliness of the proprieter and the breakfast. Winston and Mabel the dogs were very friendly and enjoyed meeting our 4 legged companion, Freddie.
Cons: Hot water was along time coming through but nothing to really speak of.
6.3 Good
Pros: Owner was friendly and the breakfast was tasty. Room was a good size.
Cons: Dogs having free run of property when states in welcome book it would only be between 10am and 2pm. Dog ran and jumped up my partner soaking wet and muddy after a walk whilst he sat in the bar. Then at breakfast it was very awkward having one trying to jump up to get our toast and another trying to lick my partners knife. I had to ask for them to be removed from the room whilst we ate which was done straight away but it felt embarrassing having to ask. My partners jeans and t-shirt both ended up dirty due to the dogs. Decor needs some TLC, pictures on booking.com makes it look better than it is.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and cosy
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best was the welcoming committee! Winston (chocolate lab), Mabel (mixed breed rescue puppy with a bit of terrier) and Spot (senior friendly cat). I lost my dog in February and miss her terribly. It was wonderful to be greeted by happy faces and wagging tails. I felt immediately at home. Grateful for a lovely ground floor single en suite with no stairs. First rate service at breakfast cooked to order, plus fruit, juice, cereal, yogurt, coffee and tea. Every bit of my stay was wonderful.
Cons: When I first arrived in Sandown, it seemed a greater distance from beach and bus stop than I anticipated. But I had been traveling all day and was tired. It actually was a very good location.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great for local amenities, good breakfasts & friendly host .
Cons: Property very dated and needs a total makeover. Double bedroom should be a single and ensuite very small. No wardrobe just a rail with coat hangers.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Checked in expecting a single room but was allocated a sea view twin bedded.very comfortable bed will stay again if I can.
Cons: Had no complaints
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was poor. Full English was very small, served on a small plate. Portion control applied, not what we expected. Had to eat away from hotel to avoid being hungry before lunch.
Cons: Staff were rude and ignorant, Not interested in their customers. Had to argue to the point on arrival that we had paid for breakfast, and also the next day that again we had paid for breakfast. The room was hot, granted it was was south facing. The quality and condition of the room was poor. Not what was advertised. It needs updating from the 70's. With a Premier Inn being built next door, we know where we will stay in future.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts were very nice, plenty to set you up for the mornings exploring. The Hotelier and the staff were very friendly. on the whole though excellent. Will use again.
Cons: The only downside for me was the bed was a little soft for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service excellent. Breakfast very good. Bed comfortable. Made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. When I asked for fried slice with breakfast it was done straight away and then Brian remembered and it was provided automatically for the rest of the week. Plenty of car parking.
Cons: The TV in the room could have been larger and more modern. In general the hotel could do with some updating, in particular getting rid of the burgundy net curtains in the lounge and dining room, this would open up the rooms and make them look brighter, other than that nothing that a coat of paint would not sort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was very comforable and the breafast was very good I realy enjoyed staying here . The Wight Bay Hotel - Sandown - Building
13
7.9 Good (835 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you a stay at The Wight Bay Hotel in Sandown, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute walk of Sandown Beach and Sandown Pier. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Very clean. Good breakfast. Extremely good value
Cons: Dated and thin walls meant could hear neighbours. But very happy overall for price.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was small, very basic and quite dated but did what it said on the tin and was a decent size for us to be able to change, shower, get ready and go out. The breakfast was decent and buffet style. It was close to the high street as well and the beach.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Wight Bay Hotel is a budget option in the town of Sandown. I think some reviewers need to remember that this is a 2-star property - and it shows - but it is priced as such; this was our cheapest night on the island. To that end, the hotel could with updating and modernising, but it was very clean throughout, the bed was comfy, the staff were good (no problem moving us when the heating in the first room wouldn't work) and the restaurant served perfectly good meals. There is a bar serving decent, reasonably-priced drinks and breakfast was worth getting for the price.
Cons: The whole place is a bit dated and cheaply furnished, with a feeling somewhere between a more expensive hotel and a hostel - but that is exactly what it is, a 2-star hotel, so bear that in mind if booking and you'll get what you expect.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely sea views and an exceptional buffet breakfast
Cons: Room rather small, but this didn't really matter as I was only in it for sleeping
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the hotel is a little dated but the hotel was lovely and clean breakfast very good. lovely staff
4.6 Okay
Cons: Very cold room, water was cold
6.7 Good
Pros: Clean. Was good for what we wanted for that night. Breakfast ok but ran out of items quickly. Poor young girl run off her feet with everyone asking when will x or y be ready.
Cons: No Internet signal - we were in G10. Mentioned it to the lady at reception but she was dismissive and said no one has reported any problems. So check before you settle in your room for a strong signal. Fact of the matter is if the signal is weak the further away from the main box. Consequently you cannot use the free internet access, simples. Conversely, not a problem if you don’t need internet access. Parking is very very limited, get there early. No street parking either when we got there.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bed comfortable , nice and quiet
Cons: Room was a bit small
Bayshore Hotel - Sandown - Building

7.9 Good (153 reviews)

At the Bayshore, part of the Leisureplex Hotel Group, the bedrooms have an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and a flat screen TV with Freeview. The cocktail bar and dining room overlook the sea and there is entertainment most evenings. A 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel, Sandown Town Centre offers many shops and an open air market on Mondays. Sandown Rail Station is a 15-minute walk away.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Sea view
Cons: No wifi inside rooms only in public areas. No parking available. Too costly with the facilities provided.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a sea view. It’s dead opposite the pier and location was great.
Cons: I can’t think of anything to be honest, only stayed one night and it was fine.
5.8 Okay
Cons: My room was comfortable and the breakfast adequate BUT... I arrived at 10.15 p.m., when Reception was, as I had been informed, closed. I tried the front door which was, as I had been informed, closed. There was a member of staff inside who saw me but took no notice of me. I then tried the Night Bell; there was no response, not surprisingly, since, as I learner later, it was not working; the staff knew this. To open the door I had to know the code for the entryphone; the receptionist, though friendly and ioformative about her home town, had omitted to give this to me, as she should have done whether I requested it or not. My mobile phone, without roaming, was unable to connect me with the two emergency numbers posted on the front door. I now faced the possibility of having to sleep the night on the beach. Fortunately a couple of other visitors arrived after a while, and found themselves in just the same position as myself. They did however succeed in ringing the emergency numbers, and were given the code. The entryphone was so old and worn that it was hard to make out the numbers by the buttons, but after several tries the door opened. The barmaid, to whom we complained, could not have been more helpful and apologetic, but the faults in thr system were made quite clear, Intending visitors should be on their guard,
5.4 Okay
Pros: Pillows are very uncomfortable
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I am 83, and not as mobile as I once was. My eyesight does not permit me to drive any more. The hotel is located at virtual sea level, with no public transport at that level. The nearest bus stop is at the top of a very steep hill. If I had been aware of this before booking, I could well have had second thoughts. On the first evening, we went to the restaurant for a meal, and were informed that we should have booked. On reading my leaflet, I could see that this was required, but think that Reception should be advised to remind visitors when booking in. There was a good range of choice for breakfast, and the 'full English breakfast' was a good start for the day. My wife and I enjoyed our stay, and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - TO PEOPLE I CONSIDERED FIT ENOUGH TO CLIMB THE HILL!
Cons: If I were on the hotel's management, I would lobby the local bus company to provide a convenient service.

7.9 Good
Pros: Location was excellent. Room was clean.
Cons: Some of the staff were friendlier than others. Our arrival clearly inconvenienced one of the receptionists, but everyone else was great.
