Pros: I would recommend this hotel for both business and leisure. 18m indoor pool and gym were good. Baby sitting service outsourced was fantastic, our sitter was a preschool teacher. The Concierge service was second to none and nothing was ever a problem, even though we called them 15 times on the first evening. Located right on the Bund (my room didn't have a Bund view) and was a 50m walk to the waters edge, and on one of the biggest shopping streets in China (East Nanjing Road).

Pros: The location is great but most rooms have no views. The products provided is top of the line and the jazz bar, though did not play jazz when we were there, is a nice old time Shanghai fair.
Cons: The facility is older even after the renovation. The switches are so over-used that one is hard to read what the switch is for. The shower room insulation is old so that water leaks to the toilet area whenver the shower is used.

Pros: The place smells wonderful, from the floral smell that hits at the door, the wonderful food smells in the elevator to the clean room smell, this is a beautiful place to stay. The view of the city is lovely, and the room good sized. We have the option of luxurious bath tub or rain type shower. There are two sinks, and the bed is of course most comfortable with light control buttons on the nightstand. The toilet is automatic, and I do believe the seats are heated somehow. The staff is attentive and courteous. Location is close to trendy restaurants and shopping.
Cons: I wish we had time to experience the spa services and pool area, but we had to dash. The price was expensive, to be expected for the luxury, but still, expensive.

Pros: Management went out of their way to make our trip memorable - Thank you Andy, Rico, and Zak! At every turn, they were there to help. Also, Karme the concierge - Cannot get better in Shanghai! Location is amazing, while the hotel has a charm and luxurious feel.
Cons: Generally, difficulty with English. Room had a leak, and AC was not working, but the staff was quick to fix everything without question or delay!

Pros: There for a business conference. Very good gym. 20 minute walk to the Bund along Nanjing Street, a no cars shopping shopping mall that goes on for blocks. Overall, an excellent hotel and I would stay there again.

Pros: We booked an executive suite with access to the lounge. All was fantastic. We had breakfast at the lounge and it was very comfortable. The location can’t be better!

Cons: Safety is poor. Anyone can access the elevator. No security and no need to use the room key to get the lift.

Pros: Very good hotel with a privileged location, a few meters from People's Square station and Nanjing pedestrian street, at the heart of the city center. An impressive view of the city from our room, as well as from the revolving restaurant on the 45th floor, you eat a delicious food while enjoying the 360° views of the city. Very kind staff, a very comfortable and clean room. For 80 RMB per person, a shuttle can take you to the airport.

Pros: Please Google "Shanghai Scam" if you are visiting. Location of hotel was good. It's one block from a major pedestrian shopping mall and you can easily walk to the river or to the square. The hotel room we got was a king and was really nice. It had a huge room and the bathroom was really nice also.
Cons: The A/C in our room didn't work. We notified reception and they sent an engineer to fix it and it worked for 36 or so hours after that and then blew warm air again. The reception staff said all the rooms A/C are bad and there was no point in moving us to another room. She said it's because the A/C units are old and the outside air is too warm to cool.

Cons: It appears that more female staff are recently hired, which is great. More materials need to be provided to them to help them know what tourists generally ask about. One thing I noticed about mainland Chinese is that that they do not give details but only a generalized answers. The more experienced staff are okay. But the newer staff should be told to be more specific because world travelers are not stupid. The details are what tourists want. Also, give the young female staff encouragements rather than criticisms. And have the experienced staff, who seems to be mostly males, to give the female staff a chance to help tourists - so don't take over but assist on the side.

Pros: The hotel is located just adjacent to the Yu Garden, ah historic and picturesque neighborhood the recalls the Shanghai of yesteryear. It is fascinating to walk through the little lanes and see the ancient buildings. The Yu Garden is a real gem as well. The hotel is located just above the Yu Garden subway station and could not be more convenient for getting around the city. The hotel is clean and modern. The staff was wonderful. The executive lounge had great food and a terrific view. Our room was large and comfortable. All in all this is my favorite hotel in Shanghai.
Cons: The mattress in our room needed to be replaced--it was a bit lumpy.

Pros: Very spacious room, huge comfy bed & free standing bath. Great view of the city. The rooftop bar was excellent and the location was good for sightseeing. Room was surprisingly quiet for location- and I am a light sleeper. Would definately stay here again.
Cons: The 3rd floor restaurant was tired looking, and the food was ok but nothing special. I regretted it almost the minute I sat down and saw the tattered menu. The breakfast was over priced for what was served.

Pros: For a little over $100 per night this hotel is very nice. I'm surprised there's an even more upscale sister hotel Grand Central next door! The rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location is excellent, 3 blocks from the Metro 2 stop and right behind the famous walking street.
Cons: The staff is not the most friendly and they were doing construction in a room close by which caused quite a bit of noise early in the morning and the water in our room was shut off for half a day. With that in mind we should have gotten a price reduction on the room for the inconvenience.

Pros: We were blown away by this hotel! Loved our room and the VUE Bar up top. We can't wait to stay again.
Cons: One big downfall- my husband got food poisoning or something from the Aroma Restaurant Buffet. Not sure what it was he ate but he spent the next 12 hours violently evacuating it from his system. Bummer for a ¥600+ dinner. :(
