Cocoa Beach is located in Brevard County in eastern Florida. The location is famous for its beaches, surfing, the John F. Kennedy Space Center and as the setting of the popular 1960 sitcom, I Dream of Jeannie. Cocoa Beach is warm and humid throughout the year, however it heats up considerably during the summer. Winter temperatures range from 10 to 20 degrees and summer temperatures range from 20 to 37. Visitors should pack weather appropriate clothing such as a light jacket in the winter and shorts in the summer to prepare for their Cocoa Beach holiday. The city may launch space shuttles, but it does not have its own airport. Visitors can arrive by car on the Interstate 95 or take a coach into the city. The city has an excellent public transport system operated by Space Coast Area Transit, which runs buses all over Brevard County. It is also bicycle-friendly and pedestrian-friendly. Cocoa Beach is located in the Eastern Time Zone (GMT -5).
Cocoa Beach holidays are ideal beach holidays. It is home to a stretch of beach of the same name, where holidaymakers can surf, play beach volleyball and relax in the sun. The Cocoa Beach Pier is a good location for dining and shopping as it has many gift shops and local restaurants. The John F. Kennedy Space Center is located in Cape Carnival, just north of the city. This location has an informative visitor complex which offers tours of former launch facilities and contains an extensive museum dedicated to NASA space launches. Cape Carnival is also home to the Air Force Space and Missile Museum.
