Quite noisy location
Room was dark and dirty, matted ball of hair on window pane( which faced another room, no natural light) awful room lighting, i asked for more lights and they did nothing to help.shower had no hot water and water poured out from a crack all over the bathroom floor and the t.v did not work unless you fiddled with the exposed wires!! the only reason i stay in this hotel is the location to workplace. This hotel needs a very huge renovation.
great location for shopping etc and near station no staff about at breakfast no tables cleared to sit at when one did appear they still did not seem on top of the job. lunchtime in bar was short staffed one person behind bar doing everything not enough seats.
the only thing good about this hotel was the guy that night on the reception he was shaking from the stress ,but we got dealy with ,and then the day after we were un happy again as my room had bee re booked to some one esle and i was sent to a yob hostel to put in polite where i had to share a lift with a skin head gross
I have nothing good to say about the experience except that the restaurant staff were friendly. It took 300 minutes of queuing to get a key and a further three ascents / further quesuing to get into the room as the magnetic strips did not work. Arrived early to be greeted simply with "You can't check in here" - no welcome or greeting. the most appalling service I have ever experienced in a city centre hotel, and for the price entirely unacceptable. Surly reception staff, overwhelmed by long queues and too few computers. Poor rooms small, dark, - wall paper peeling; paint rubbed off in bathroom
The hot bath/shower The facilities are old and out of date. It is a Victorian type of hotel but the maintenance to this standard has not been effected at all. The odour and smells coming out of the rooms are horrible. There is a a need to change the beddings and sheets.
Location, the price I stay here 3 or 4 times a month and there are always niggling complaints; 2 out of my last 3 early morning call requests didn't happen. Heating not turned on in my room until 3rd request; no iron in the ironing room (stolen!) but no offer to pop next door to Debenhams to get one. Location and price, plus a decent breakfast, save the day
location very good and very cheap and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast is very good. outdated furniture's and the room we stayed not was facing closed wall and very dark
Although it is located in the centre of Birmingham the hotelrooms were dirty and uncomfortable (old beds, bathroom below standards) Hotel needs compleet renovation
Excellent location - closed to all of the city's attractions, bars, clubs and shops No car park
Hotel room was tiny, also walls and carpet were dirty. funny smell in hallsway and lift. Bar staff were very rude.
Staff really friendly without fail.
Great, location, good food, and comfortable quiet room!
Staff very helpful, nice location. Room was in need of decorative updating, bathroom was scruffy and tired, heater did not work well
Breakfast Room was cold. Staff unable to get fixed so put up with it rather than repack and move.
The location, comfort and cleanliness of the hotel.
the breakfast was fantastic.
The breakfast was excellent Excessive car charges £24 sterling for one night was excessive, I presume rooms are going to be updated ...
Excellent location, high standard of room, comfortable bed, excellent en suite with bath and shower. Breakfast was not very hot and we had to wait until we had nearly finished before coffee was served, but the choice was good. The plates should have been warmed.
very close to town centre
Large comfortable rooms, well heated and great bed
helpful porters at the entrance and the pool.
Luxury and modern styling, lovely lobby, restaurant and classy bar, clean and felt quality, professional and smart staff The drunk young italian thug at the bar....... The lack of free satellite tv channels...... Plus the parking that had to be in the NCP around the corner was closed at 11pm when I got back to the hotel!
very helpful staff nothing outstanding stood out but it was a very pleasant stay with no problems. too much chlorine in the pool and jacuzzi
Wonderful Room Wonderful View Wonderful Spa!
Excellent service Nothing
Well appointed and central location However you look at it £170 can get you overnight anywhere
Easy walk to NIA. Staff always polite & friendly. Nothing
Good staff Want to charge you for water bottles in room No batteries in remote control Cheap toilet paper For the price you pay you would think the hotel would get all these little points right!
Dining room staff excellent all staff very helpful Telephoned to change from one room to two. This had not happened on checking in. However we were accommodated a room each and next to each other which was great
Excellent facilities Comfortable bed overal good We presumed breakfast and car parking was included in the price as it was the previouse year and cheaper then.
Late check out at 12.00, which means you can have a lovely lie in Unfortunately the temperature was minus 4 degrees and the hotel is not built for cold weather. The rooms were just at a reasonable temperature for someone that doesn't feel the cold too much. The restaurant and lounge area were very cold and whilst the food was excellent, we left as soon as we had finished eating as it was uncomfortable to sit and enjoy.
Great location, staff were great, Noisy neighbours
Good location Noise pollution outside woke us up early hours. Car park was not free Bed uncomfortable
Nice sized room. I didn't enjoy struggling to hear the TV over the noise of the lift. I didn't sleep much because the noise of the lift woke me up quite a lot of the time throughout the night. We were on the 6th floor and the noise from the street was still quite loud.
Location despite being far from the railway station What we were charged had nothing to do with both your prices on the internet and nothing to do with the numbers of breakfasts we had. we had to intervene to both. this is the first time we are facing this after hundreds of hotels we visited. we had our room left for the hole day as we woke up one day
Jurys have really up the mark in this Hotel,We have stayed before and it gets better every year.
Convenient location. Ideal for a night out in the centre of Birmingham. Rooms were pretty basic, but sound enough for what we needed them for.
the pizza. screaming kids running about in the corridor.
hotel room was lovely - good value for money and the breakfast was good.
Proximaty to centre
Price , location , on site parking , large rooms , great staff , Paying £14.50 for one nites parking this really shud be free , breakfast too is extra , the door cards worked when they wanted to and we ad to change them 2 x ,
Intercom was not working. U have to go down anytime you need water
My visit was good and enjoyed my stay as the location is near the clubs and restaurants and the German Market The fact that the cleaners woke me up three times between 8.30am and 9.30am by entereing my room while I was sleeping
Stylish decor the very poor service!!! both reception and in the restaurant!!!
This is the second time here and we had another wonderful time! We especially love the position as its very close to the canal network and various bars and restaurants - plus very near to the City Centre. Lovely atmosphere too as, although its an incredibly comfortable hotel it also has a 'warm and inviting' feel. Your staff are 'second to none' - well done! Hope this assists - thanks.
massage chairs in the spa were a big plus
The room was comfortable. The check-in experience was very amateur for a hotel of your calibre. Also I found that the carpet in the room was quite stained.
room was lovely Checking out was long winded as only one receptionist on, we were checking out at 07.15am (not a busy time!) to be at an appt for 07.30 but receptionist was back & forward as couldn't find a receipt for customer in front of us and never once asked for someone to serve,so we were late for our appt by few minutes....poor
Clean comfortable and staff are very helpful and accommodating.
Close to Birmingham New Street rail station
The comfort of the rooms and big bathrooms along with the atmosphere in the bar/restaurant area. gorgeous breakfasts with very good attention to detail with what was on offer. The shower was a bit low in both pressure and height and the room a bit cool.
The service in the bar was appalling and the hotel is starting to look shabby and neglected.
The availability of an iron and ironing board in my room. When I went down to breakfast I was seated and then ignored for about 25 minutes. I had to ask one of the staff if I could order as I had a tight schedule.
Nice and friendly receptionists I choose the hotel because Internet should be available. That turned out to be the case only in the first floor, not in my room.
The whole package, from the staff to the great accommodation. Just one very small thing, at breakfast, the plates weren't warmed so breakfast was cold before it got to the table.
On a cold winters night it was very very close to the bar we were going to that evening and it was close to local shops and supermarket! Staff were extremely unwelcoming and not usefull in the slightest
the heating,as it was very cold in birmingham city that day we was their no where to park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The location of the hotel is a short walk from the staion and from the bull ring The rooms are basic beds not comfortable air con very load for a new hotel only a shower with basic soap travel lodge style food in restraunt poor rough area laminated floors in bedroom would not recormend this as a buiness hotel
The room was very clean and well presented and very quiet. Coffee & Tea available. I did not like the Hotel policy of requiring a deposit if you were going to use any of the facilities. For example we had dinner in the restaurant but I was not allowed to charge it to my room because I had not paid a deposit when I booked in. I paid cash. It is a minor irritation but a silly policy.
The Hotel was spot on staff very helpfull walking into city centre was about 15 minutes through not very nice side streets. ( not recomended returning from NIA at night )
For the price, I would have expected more. It was clean and basic.
the breakfast was delicious, hotel is quite near to the new street railway station and the shopping centre bullring although the hotel should be 4*, some services and facilities, which should be in 4* hotel are missing - minibar, safebox, bathroom amenities + the price 15 GBP also for TV (bbc, cnn...) is too high! (standard TV channels should be for free)
The hotel had a pretty good location, fairly central to the city and shops. I was literally a few minutes from where I needed to be. The room was very cold in the morning however it did snow over night and the beds were not partically spacious
everything!was a great stay
location charging additional for breakfast. small rations for in room coffe making.
Location, clean , modern, wifi free Breakfast was fry up City, poor selection of fruit, yoghurt
Nice spacious rooms, excelent location, check staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was cold, poor choice and very expensive, the staff at breakfast were either hungover or on mogodam,go weatherspoons.
Didn't stay at Mint Hotel - stayed at City Inn, birmingham Bed really uncomfortable
the easyness it was to get to the NIA and broad street. it was quite hot in the room and found it difficult to turn the heating down.
huge window was a nice touch no bath
Very quiet room, very comfortable bed & seating. Tea & coffee facilities well stocked. Check-in was very poor, slow - with a queue from desk to entrance. Staff approach seemed rather too casual. Bedroom was quite clean but had to remove some litter from floor.
Excellent hotel, with everything you need near by. The pubs clubs and restaurants were only 3 min walk away. A superb hotel to stay in.
The room was very clean and very well equipped. The location of the Hotel was also very central and convenient for the city centre.
The room was tastefully decorated and the location was awesome
How accessible the station, NIA etc were to us Taxi company used by hotel (Falcon)
Very convenient to all ameneties. Also a nice relaxed comfortable stay. Will use again.
Ideally placed for shopping. Quiet and able to work in my room when required to do so. Room service very good.
The location was very convenient Rooms were very hot and the breakfast was so expensive that we went elsewhere
Oriental brasserie was unusual & food was excellent It was a little hard to find
The location is excellent, convenient for concert hall, theatre, museum, cinema, shops etc and a short walk from the station. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very tired and those facing the road very noisey, better double glazing would help. The meals are expensive but the hotel is close to the canalside bars and restaurants so it is not a problem.
Superb location, very easy to reach by car, 5 mins walking distance between New Street Station and the main shopping centre, and the Symphony Hall, but just far enough out to be away from the hustle and bustle if you want time out. About 15 easy minutes walk from the Jewellery Quarter Mattress was a bit lumpy, so didn't get a good night's sleep, however it's the first time that has happened to me when I've stayed here
the wonderful Italian Restaurant across the way!
The rooms were not how I imagined from the pictures or describtion
Room was very comfortable, staff very helpful.Good experience. Cuisine choice was limited.
Good value rooms and included full breakfast Hotel is in need of some TLC and getting to it was not simple due to road works!
Convenience Old and foul smelling
What wasn't there to like! We could not fault it. It's unusual to have a perfect stay with no negatives. No parking on site. It was difficult to find.
I have stayed at this hotel before and all was as before. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. It was of concern to me that the receptionist did not appear to have my booking - it turned out my name had been spelt wrongly. I had asked for non feather pillows due to an allergy. There was a feather pillow in my room, I had to ask for this to be removed and replaced. There were problems with turning on the water for a bath through a shower mixer.
The hotel was very nice and it is in an excellent location for all the shops. The room was very hot, there was air conditioning but it was very noisy.
The hotel is nice for business trip.
Nice, clean and comfortable Not that easy to get to in a car.
Traditional comfort with up to date facilities, warm welcoming staff and very good food.
The staff were friendly and informative, great location for shopping and restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable. Requested some hot water for a cup of tea at breakfast and had to ask again as it was forgotten.
I stayed there several times and always been very happy, however on this occassion I was very dissapointed in the room wasnt what I expected or value for money.
Beautiful hotel, felt right at home. The bed was comfy and the decorating was extroardinary! Nothing!
The location is excellent, right at the heart of prime shopping outlets and 30 meters from all transport. The room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable.
staff very helpful and friendly, hotel clean and nicely decorated, rooms very nice, good sizeed bathroom
I was passed out drunk in my room after a somewhat heated exchange wit my partner. She for reasons only known to whatever deity you pretend to pray to elected to come over. This was an excellent choice assisted by the staff of the Radisson blu hotel. I have to use a key card to access my floor, its a layer of security that is utterly redundant.
central and staff very friendly , and rooms very good in every way. no
Nice Windows and views to the city non
Room was spacious and bed comfortable
Very modern hotel, stylish and very comfortable beds, superb views of the city from the room, and central to all attractions, perfect location for theatre goers
We enjoyed the view from our 6th floor room, it was above the traffic so it was very quiet, hotel quiet too even though it was busy, staff were very pleasant and polite. Chair in our room was very wobbley, asked for aioli (on the menu) with our chips but got tartare sauce (in the bar), would have appreciated more pillows.
i liked at how friendly the staff was
The night porter, maintenance and Breakfast staff were polite and friendly and the breakfast was good. Reception on arrival were very miserable, mini bar was warm, room card kept cancelling. The hotel was fully booked with Christmas parties so some very loud brash people.
apart from the below mentioned the hotel was amazing and we would recomend it without hesitation to anyone. the front of house staff were very good and helpful. I work in customer service myself and it was nice for someone to 'go the extra mile' for me. we ordered a double room. when we got to the room it was a twin. i approached the recption and the helpful lady told me there were no other double rooms but house keeping would go up and push beds together and re make. when we got back after the night out it had not been done.i asked the same girl in the morning who apologised and compensated me which was a very nice gesture.
Location was great. Staff in general were well mannered. Up to 18 floors. Has a gym, but didn't get to see it. Well sized rooms also. Shoe machines on the floors along with ice. I have to say I love the Raddison blu brand but this will now be the 1st of two lower than average reviews I'll be writing. First of all I felt lucky and a little excited to get a good deal of £88 per night (with breakfast) as apposed to the £150-£170 most sites were advertising (including Raddison blu on their club Carlson membership site). It started with the arrival with my colleague, a small lobby for the size of the hotel. No one there at first but they came out seconds later so it wasn't too much of a problem. We explained to the front desk that I had booked the rooms for two of us, but rather than looking it was assumed it would be under separate names. Could have been my fault so I'll let that go. We then both checked in, only to find that both rooms were under my name. This was done quite fast, which was good and we were sent on our way with a brief explanation about the breakfast in the morning. Missed the offers that were on hand and not valid at check-in so no upsell. Had they asked we would have taken one of the offers. I did show my club Carlson card and asked if there was anyway of upgrading as to which she said "I'm afraid not as the hotel is fully booked". Which was understandable (remember this part!). I was getting myself together at the reception desk, at which she thanked me. She then thanked me again and gave me a look to say do that somewhere else! I looked around and saw a queue behind me, which I was surprised as there was no one there when we arrived. I apologised when I left the desk but left with a slightly sour taste in my mouth. I then went to my room which smelt of cigarettes. I wasn't sure whether someone was taking a chance on smoking in their room or it was a stench in the actual room. The carpet had stains that seemed well embedded (my colleagues room looked as though blood had been engraved into the carpet with stains too!), the tv had very poor reception (so that was the Brits out of the window). Bathroom was a good size and clean, so was the room in general. But lacked any homely or business feel.
Location and the views from the room (stayed on the 15th floor). Cleanliness of the rooms (althought there was quite alot of dust under the luggage rack in the room) and the hotel in general, it is obviously well looked after. However no newspaper was delivered to my room as requested. Staff are not particularly efficient. At check in, we checked into 2 rooms, one at 1pm and the other at 10pm. Having told the receptionist that we had already checked into a room earlier on in the day she still proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes telling us about breakfast, spa facilities, the gym etc. which we had already heard when we checked into the first room. When we checked into the first room, the receptionsist could not find the booking, even though we tried on numerous occasions to give him our booking conformation with the booking number on it. At breakfast, had eated the rest of our breakfast and were still waiting for 2 fried eggs.
I thought the food was good in the restaurant I booked into the room at 11am but when retruning to the hotel at 6pm was told my room had been taken. An alternative was provided within an hour. However the TV didnt work in the room.
clean and good service
very convienant and nice atmosphere
Location Service at the front desk was at times very slow.
Great location with parking.Breakfast very good.Staff very attentive. Both lifts were out of order.
I would like an invoice to cover ALL of the room costs as I invited a few guests from other companies and I did not get all of the copies back.
Overall great value for money, great size room, very spacious, extremely comfortable bed, good facilities in the rooms and a fantastic breakfast. We considered our room was very quiet for a very busy city centre location (right in the hub of the night life) and we found the staff very polite & friendly. For our annual Christmas stop-over in Birmingham this could possibly be our new favourite! The only minor improvement in the room would be to have the toilet incorporated into the bathroom instead of being in a separate smaller room.
It was close to the things we wanted to see and do. It was also very comfortable.
The staff - friendly, helpful and very gard working. Personally would not classify it as a 4 star hotel - even at the "Bonus" price of £140 it was overpriced. Then to add insult to inhury theres a £13 Car Park fee on top - should be ashamed of yourselves.
The size of the room and comfortable bed. We only stayed one night!
Hotel was lovely, comfortable & spacious. Wouldn'tthink twice about staying here again. Room that I was given was not what was advertised or on confirmation, never the less it was very comfortable and served its purpose.
