the only thing good about this hotel was the guy that night on the reception he was shaking from the stress ,but we got dealy with ,and then the day after we were un happy again as my room had bee re booked to some one esle and i was sent to a yob hostel to put in polite where i had to share a lift with a skin head gross
location very good and very cheap and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast is very good. outdated furniture's and the room we stayed not was facing closed wall and very dark
I have nothing good to say about the experience except that the restaurant staff were friendly. It took 300 minutes of queuing to get a key and a further three ascents / further quesuing to get into the room as the magnetic strips did not work. Arrived early to be greeted simply with "You can't check in here" - no welcome or greeting. the most appalling service I have ever experienced in a city centre hotel, and for the price entirely unacceptable. Surly reception staff, overwhelmed by long queues and too few computers. Poor rooms small, dark, - wall paper peeling; paint rubbed off in bathroom
Room was dark and dirty, matted ball of hair on window pane( which faced another room, no natural light) awful room lighting, i asked for more lights and they did nothing to help.shower had no hot water and water poured out from a crack all over the bathroom floor and the t.v did not work unless you fiddled with the exposed wires!! the only reason i stay in this hotel is the location to workplace. This hotel needs a very huge renovation.
Location, the price I stay here 3 or 4 times a month and there are always niggling complaints; 2 out of my last 3 early morning call requests didn't happen. Heating not turned on in my room until 3rd request; no iron in the ironing room (stolen!) but no offer to pop next door to Debenhams to get one. Location and price, plus a decent breakfast, save the day
We stayed for one night, paid £40 so couldn't moan at that as other hotels in the city were much more. Rooms are very basic and you get what you paid for Hotel seems to be stuck in the 70s with the decor, we had a room with no window and air con decided to turn itself off half way through the night.
Although it is located in the centre of Birmingham the hotelrooms were dirty and uncomfortable (old beds, bathroom below standards) Hotel needs compleet renovation
Quite noisy location
Hotel room was tiny, also walls and carpet were dirty. funny smell in hallsway and lift. Bar staff were very rude.
Location ! Location ! But clean rooms but not dirty bed was on wooden legs !! Not quiet at all and breakfast was not great
great location for shopping etc and near station no staff about at breakfast no tables cleared to sit at when one did appear they still did not seem on top of the job. lunchtime in bar was short staffed one person behind bar doing everything not enough seats.
The hotel was very nice and it is in an excellent location for all the shops. The room was very hot, there was air conditioning but it was very noisy.
I have stayed at this hotel before and all was as before. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. It was of concern to me that the receptionist did not appear to have my booking - it turned out my name had been spelt wrongly. I had asked for non feather pillows due to an allergy. There was a feather pillow in my room, I had to ask for this to be removed and replaced. There were problems with turning on the water for a bath through a shower mixer.
The staff were friendly and informative, great location for shopping and restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable. Requested some hot water for a cup of tea at breakfast and had to ask again as it was forgotten.
The hotel is nice for business trip.
What wasn't there to like! We could not fault it. It's unusual to have a perfect stay with no negatives. No parking on site. It was difficult to find.
Convenience Old and foul smelling
I stayed there several times and always been very happy, however on this occassion I was very dissapointed in the room wasnt what I expected or value for money.
Nice, clean and comfortable Not that easy to get to in a car.
Traditional comfort with up to date facilities, warm welcoming staff and very good food.
The location is excellent, right at the heart of prime shopping outlets and 30 meters from all transport. The room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable.
Beautiful hotel, felt right at home. The bed was comfy and the decorating was extroardinary! Nothing!
How accessible the station, NIA etc were to us Taxi company used by hotel (Falcon)
The location was very convenient Rooms were very hot and the breakfast was so expensive that we went elsewhere
The rooms were not how I imagined from the pictures or describtion
The location is excellent, convenient for concert hall, theatre, museum, cinema, shops etc and a short walk from the station. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very tired and those facing the road very noisey, better double glazing would help. The meals are expensive but the hotel is close to the canalside bars and restaurants so it is not a problem.
Room was very comfortable, staff very helpful.Good experience. Cuisine choice was limited.
Ideally placed for shopping. Quiet and able to work in my room when required to do so. Room service very good.
Superb location, very easy to reach by car, 5 mins walking distance between New Street Station and the main shopping centre, and the Symphony Hall, but just far enough out to be away from the hustle and bustle if you want time out. About 15 easy minutes walk from the Jewellery Quarter Mattress was a bit lumpy, so didn't get a good night's sleep, however it's the first time that has happened to me when I've stayed here
Good value rooms and included full breakfast Hotel is in need of some TLC and getting to it was not simple due to road works!
Oriental brasserie was unusual & food was excellent It was a little hard to find
the wonderful Italian Restaurant across the way!
Very convenient to all ameneties. Also a nice relaxed comfortable stay. Will use again.
Excellent value for money. Nice well designed room, if a bit small. A nice pub there and a great night's sleep.
quiet, very comfortable bed It`s really really difficult to find the hotel. Basically it`s in the Aston Business School. We asked a receptionist next door to the hotel and directed us the opposite. There are maps at the university area but none of them show the hotel. finally we found the hotel just by mistake, even inside the Business School there arent any signs of any hotel.
Very close to the centre of the city, great room & food. Staff where very helpfull and delivered excellent service
Leaving Staff - lack of politeness, empathy, time, bad manners, and not enough staff. Advertises a swimming pool but there isn't one, and the gym is apparently a fifteen minute walk
Excellent location and value; clean room with good facilities; and friendly staff. None.
good value for money, newly built breakfast average , smell of paint from walls , noise from the cleaners in the morning
Nice atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. The parking!
the 9.30am checkout time is too early
Hotel Staff really helpful and friendly
The above factors
Nothing at all it is student hotel I did not like all things , room is verysmall and bath look like prison,
Excellent value for money with free parking. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Excellent location in middle of Birmingham. Rooms a little bit on the small side. The double bed was also a little bit on the small side for 2 people. We have become accustomed to a king size.
Well located and clean. Good facilities. No view from room
Extremely comfortable, very clean, everything I required for my stay. very good value for money. I would certainly recommend the the hotel and I will use the chain again.
The friendliness and courtesy of staff. Nothing was too much bother! None!
the central location, the value for money and the clean modern environment of the hotel the bar/restaurant was very crowded and noisy - but it is a city centre hotel! no shaver point in the bathroom or room.
Excellent central location, near both train station and high street, as well as icc. Hotel spotlessly clean. Room well furnished - tea / coffee, hairdryer etc. Very comfortable bed Could be somewhat noisy at times - could hear every noise in the corridor. Breakfast pricey & not included in price.
Central location. Room too small, air vents in the wall meants draughts over the bed! Bed seemed a very small double!
Clean and tidy Charge for wifi
Our beds were not done and bed linen not changed.
the staff were very helpful and friendly
The stuff was very polite and effective to their duties. The bathroom wasn't immaculately clean.
The warm welcoming and great customer service the room, just about everything. N/A
The booking hadn't been confirmed so luckily another room was available.
Restaurant staff very friendly and attentive.
warm friendly staff. Value for money. very goood The view overlooked the car park
The location was perfect Was saturday night and till 1am there was a music from a local disco club that you can hear till inside in your room. A bad noise.
Nothing stands out - a city centre hotel like any other. Not sepcifically.
a clean and tidy hotel, pleasant staff being questioned about breakfast payment, even thou we had pre paid the night before, plus car parking was not clear, and cost more than the advertised £10.00 a day
Reception and restaurant staff were superb. The hotel design is very good and spacious. The car parking arrangements were poor.
