Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima - Hiroshima - Building
1
8.3 Excellent (8,723 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima in Hiroshima, you'll be 4.3 mi (7 km) from Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and 5.3 mi (8.5 km) from Hiroshima Castle. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient to the Hiroshima Ferry Port for our trip the next morning.
Cons: Check in staff couldn't find my reservation for a number of minutes.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice view, nice staff, nice entrance lobby
Cons: Very few outlets in the room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful breakfast, views, shuttle to and from the city/station. Hiroshima is an amazing town. We recommend to visit also Miyajima! (Fast boat leaves from the hotel, or use JR pass for ferry and train combo)
Cons: All the perks will cost you extra (eg. On-sen etc..). We also had an issue with our booking showing the breakfast for all was included, but the hotel informed us that we had to pay for the kids. This was apparently a mistake on booking site so i hope we will get that refunded. Double check this if you re booking with breakfast and have more than 2 people party. Hotel is more of a conference type so doesnt really offer much for kids...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view
Cons: Paying for onsen and tattoo restrictions. The onsen charges should be incorporated in the room fee.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Family room size and the bathrooms
Cons: Selection of restaurants and food
4.0 Okay
Pros: Free shuttle service to Hiroshina station.
Cons: Uncomfortable beds, poor location with no local restaurants or stores so no choice but to eat in the hotel. Restuarnts very overpriced. Not particularly helpful staff. The ferry to miyajima is also overpriced. If you have a JR pass, you can take a JR train to Miyajimaguchi from Hiroshima Station (about 20 mins) then take a JR ferry.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely facilities
Cons: Buses stopped early and taxi expensive as a long way from central area of Hiroshima
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful when we lost an item of luggage, which we subsequently retreived
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, comfort, staff and value
Cons: Location. Around $23 for a taxi. Didn't find out about the free hotel shuttle or bus $2.40 until after
10.0 Excellent
Pros: good
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Free shuttle was great considering the location of the hotel which was situated down in the port area. We had a good view from our room of mountains and the ocean. Also we could see the docks and watched some of the ships coming and going. I enjoyed a stroll along the sandy beach but there was no swimming allowed. The hot spring baths were great but again at an extra cost to guests.
Cons: There was not a thing we didn't like although the beds were a little soft for my likings.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Close to the water and ferry to miyajima
Cons: Far from the train station

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great location at the train station and great views. Many restaurants in the hotel and around and a higher floor restaurant. Larger than typical room and very comfortable linens and details.
Cons: The maple loop tourist bus winter hours aren't very long. The restaurant and hotel is expensive.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Best location in Hiroshima! Right on the Shinkansen line and local trains as well. Clean, comfortable and roomy. Restaurants and shops surround the hotel. Amazingly convenient. Easy walk to the famous tourist spots. Highly recommend this great hotel!
Cons: Nothing, all is good.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location. Was very close to the station.
Cons: Everything except the location was poor. Stay here if you NEED to be near the station but, if you can, I’d save yourself £50 and stay somewhere better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is good being above Hiroshima train station and adjacent to shopping mall.
Cons: We stayed on the 20th floor. Noise from chair movement in the restaurant above our room on the 21st floor was bothersome. Some elements of the Japanese toilet did not function correctly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was easy to find and access to station, staff were polite, helpful and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable had all necessities. Would stay here again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great as there is a direct connection to the metro, trains, Sinkansen and taxi parking. Friendly staff and hassle free check-out (via machine). Room had a fridge and a kettle. The view was quite alright too from 14th floor.
Cons: Beds and the matress need updating, had trouble to sleep for both nights as the matress seemed to be older. If there would be usb plugs in rooms it would make life of foreigners a bit easier.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect, as descriptIon of the location is a few steps from JR/ Shinkansen station. The hotel was easy to find from Hiroshima station and extremely convenient when catching at 6:00AM Shinkansen to Tokyo the next morning! The room also exceeded our expectations because it was quite spacious and had fantastic amenities. Would recommend to all travellers travelling to Hiroshima. Downstairs from the hotel, you can catch a tour bus which goes to all the main attractions in loop and is freee with your JR Pass!! It is super easy and excessive :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Facilities were so clean and modern, staffs were also so friendly. Location is good to travel around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, 30 minutes walk to the main attractions, 1 minute walk to the bullet train
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful spacious rooms. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. They provided excellent customer service. Convenient to railway station. Would stay here again if I return to Hiroshima without a doubt.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is convenient and perfect, located at the JR rail/Shinkansen station, with Hiroshima city streetcar station in front of rail station. Extremely clean, awesome beds, spa-like showers, great food, fun bar with Happy hour, easily-accessed smoking area outside the lobby, corner rooms with amazing views, English speaking staff, money-converting machine in lobby, A+ breakfast buffet, convenience stores located steps away in rail station and across the street.
Cons: All was basically perfect. Just know that the hotel is NOT "walking distance" to any tourist spots, but IS located steps from the rail and Shinkansen central station and a short walk to Hiroshima streetcar station which will take you all over the city for a few dollars. (¥160 or $1.60 to go direct to Atomic Dome and a museum). Restaurants are pricey but there are 7-Elevens in the rail station for late snacking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for price. Very pleased with size of room and comfort. Staff so helpful and pretty good at speaking English. Bar was nice place to relax. Close to station and very convenient. Room service was nice as well.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quick decision makers to solve the issues, when I was asked to pay extra for no reasons.
Cons: Morning Breakfast with all items from all continents.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Electronic check in took a while, probably because foreign passports?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice modern room, good location next to train station, friendly staff
Cons: Bathroom was a little small
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here 7 times over the past year. Location is a short walk from Hiroshima station so you don't have drag your luggage far. Also a great launching point for forays into the city. If you show up early they will check your bags so you don't have to pay for a locker at the station. A public bath is on site and included in the price of the room. Nothing like a nice soak after being on your feet all day. Breakfast is great with many eastern and western choices. There will definitely be something to you liking. I found it to be a good value for the money. Parking is available for an additional fee
Cons: As a personal preference, I don't care for the thin (buckwheat?) pillows in the room. Easily fixed by bringing my own. The check in kiosks are a little impersonal.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Unfriendly staff. Very cramped rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the front desk were very very helpful and so polite. They could not do enough for me. Very willing to allow me to store luggage before check-in and after check-out to align with my transport timing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, closed to the train station, clean, the onsen.
Cons: A very small room and bathroom but with all you need.

7.0 Good
Pros: love the bath room the shower the whole room
Cons: it was a bit noisy where my room was located guess local bars which should be fine but the noise was past til hours of the morning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, tidy and modern facilities. Great location to market, points of interest and quiet enough. Bathroom featured an excellent sized bath, like your own mini Onsen.
Cons: Pillows were terrible, otherwise would have been a 10/10.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness and location were tops on our list. Access to area and walking street and the A-Dome.
Cons: None
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Super clean hotel that appears like it caters to business travelers. The room, for Japan, was quite roomy and accommodating. The breakfast was a traditional Japanese breakfast. The location was convenient to the JR bus lines so you can travel the city at no cost, if you have the the JR RailPass. Fantastic shopping is also a few blocks away.
Cons: The breakfast is a traditional Japanese breakfast so if this is your thing, this is perfect. If you haven’t quite evolved your tastebuds then you may leave a little hungry.
Oriental Hotel Hiroshima - Hiroshima - Building
6
7.9 Good (3,764 reviews)
Overview Reviews
In the heart of Hiroshima, Oriental Hotel Hiroshima is within a 5-minute drive of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Atomic Bomb Dome. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Fantastic location great hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived early and the staff graciously checked our bag so we could explore prior to check in. It is located on Peace Park Blvd so right turn down the street for 10-15 min will bring you to Peace park. Also short walk to great shopping and nightlife We booked a corner double room on the 14th floor. It gave us a fantastic view of the city through large windows in the sleeping area, over the bath tub with both joined by a window in between. The bed was the largest we have encountered in Japan. King size, maybe larger. There was a seating area with a small couch and table. Plenty of space. All for a little bit more than the standard room. Definitely worth the upgrade. Great for a couple get getway
Cons: I prefer a thicker softer pillow than offered here (and many hotels in Japan). Easily solved by bringing my own.
6.0 Good
Cons: Bedding and pillow were below average. As compared to say marriott courtyard.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Room is large enough and clean. There is a CVS just behind the hotel and it has a lot of foods available at reasonable pricing.
Cons: I cannot find anything to improve. Just a bit far from the station and bus stop.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location, lobby, and staff were all wonderful. The room was very quiet and the hotel is close enough that we were able to walk to all the nightlife but far enough that there was no street noise in the room. The PJs that are included are very nice and the linens were crisp and clean. For the price and only 1 night it was fine but I don’t think I’d do a longer stay.
Cons: The room itself was dated and in need of minor repairs (paint for scuff marks, mildew in shower, etc) I got the corner room which gave us a little extra space but the bathroom layout was actually quite bizarre. The bed was particularly uncomfortable with springs poking in some spots and the pillows offered no neck support (but that may be just my personal preference).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed and pillows are so comfortable and the bozza nova music being played on the radio is so nice and relaxing as well as the lighting in the room. The view of the city from the high floor is a plus.
Cons: None

Pros: The hotel is just great. It has a spa on the rooftop and the views from the reception are a plus. Rooms are comfty and spacious. Location is very central, just walking distance from main tourist attractions
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Very new place so it’s quite clean and quirky.
Cons: The breakfast was a mad. Got there early and it still took 30 minuets to get though the buffet line.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Consider having a fancy couch with enough space to open up a big luggage, I'd have a second thought next time
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I had been looking forward to trying a Candeo hotel for a while now as they generally feature very attractive rooftop baths and that's a requirement of mine. And I hate to use this as a "plus," but due to the ongoing coronavirus situation the hotels are at record-low capacity and prices have dropped dramatically--due to that, I was able to book a King Suite w/ Bath for a ridiculously low price. The set-up of the room was absolutely phenomenal. It was situated on the top floor of the building (and I think there were only two suites on the entire floor) and was a corner unit with floor-to-ceiling windows spanning two sides of the room giving you an amazing panoramic view of the city. The bed was firm and huge, everything screamed luxury and there was even a private outdoor bath attached to the bathroom. Even better, the hotel's public bath with rotenburo was located on the same floor and just down the hall from the room. And to top it all off, there was a phenomenal Italian restaurant on the first floor where I had some fantastic pasta, pizza and wine. Good food, good bath and the perfect room for some adult fun afterwards? Doesn't get any better.
Cons: Two minor gripes. One, for a "king suite," the room wasn't particularly big and I had nowhere to lay-out our two medium suitcases, which is generally something you're able to do in a "suite." We only stayed one night so this wasn't a huge deal, but it was rather annoying trying to pull things out of my bag without opening it fully. Two, the area, Hatchobori, isn't exactly the most convenient to get to from Hiroshima Station. You need to hop on the Hiroden Streetcar and it's about a ten minute ride. Not a big deal and not very far, but that streetcar is the only thing I really hate about downtown Hiroshima. The area itself was fine, as the city is so small you can walk to basically anywhere of interest (and we did walk to the Peace Park from the hotel) and there were some great places to eat and drink nearby, but I just wish it was two or three stops from Hiroshima Station instead of six or seven.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness was superb
Cons: Slightly far from the train station

Pros: Perfect location!
Cons: Nothing in particular, the room was small, but that's standard.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was in a good location. Near the center and the tram station.
Cons: The breakfast lacked some variety. We would've liked something less salty and more sweet.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to the center
Cons: Not the cleanest place I have been to
7.0 Good

Best rooms in Hiroshima

Kinsuikan - Hiroshima - Building
1
8.7 Excellent (829 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Miyajima Kinsuikan in Hatsukaichi, you'll be in the historical district, within a 10-minute walk of Itsukushima Shrine and Miyajima Ferry Terminal. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely typical Japanese Ryokan where you can experience wearing typical dress and taste local delicacies. Excellent location and great professional staff who cannot do enough to make your stay memorable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location on the water was perfect. Easy walk from/to the ferry. We had two luxury triple rooms (with private bathrooms) next to each other. Both had nice sitting areas (including a massage chair) with views of the water and the floating torii gate. Dinner served in the room was wonderful, and breakfast (served in the dining hall) was good, too. The futon was incredibly comfortable and there was a selection of pillows so you could choose what you liked. We spent 15 days in Japan and I had my best night's sleep here. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. We only only spent one night on Miyajima but we all felt we would have liked another day to see and do more. Another night at Kinsuikan would have been heaven.
Cons: The downside to the Japanese style rooms is that there's no place to lie down if you need to. Since we had just arrived in Japan the night before (from the US), we were still quite jet-lagged and after dinner all I wanted to do was go to bed but our futons hadn't been set up yet. If I had it to do over again I would still book a Japanese style room, but I might ask them to set up the futons sooner.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was nice, service was good, but not exceptional by Japanese standards.
Cons: Pricey for what it offers. I think they charge for 2 people so it was pricey because they do not give you more, just charges for 2

Pros: Good for people who wants to stay appart from the crowded center Amazing view from the room and a must do experience Staff very helpful
Cons: Quite expensive Mattress on the floor not so confort A cleaning of the beach area might be a plus
7.0 Good
Pros: This is a traditional Japanse style ryokan offering a rate that includes dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel operates a regular shuttle service to ther port. We arrived early, around 12.30 pm, so too early for check in, which is at 3.00 pm. We went to the information desk located in the mainport building and they very kindly telephoned the hotel who then dispatched transport to collect our bags, leaving us free to explore until we wished to check in. Later in the afternoon, we simply returned to the port area where a shuttle bus was waiting to whisk us off to the hotel. Our room was, as mentioned, traditional Japanese style. So, tatami mats and futons to sleep on. The view however was reaally good, overlooking the beach and sea. Dinner is described as "kaiseki", which is probably a little optimistic, but was more than adequate. Incidentally, you have to pre-book times for both dinner and breakfast on check in. The latest time we were offered for dinner was 6.30 pm, and was served in our room. The hotel has slightly tired feel to it, not unusual for hotels of this type, so do not expect five star luxury.
Cons: Quite expensive for what was on offer, at nearly 300.00 GB sterling for the night.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was lovely, onsen hot and staff great but hotel was dated and purely Japanese meals catered to knit a segment of its market
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great japanese experience.
Cons: Everything was great!
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were very obliging and gave great service. We arrived on the island in the morning. We were able to ring the hotel, they picked up our luggage so that we could explore the island. Then they picked us up in the afternoon. The traditional meal was excellent and more than enough. We had a lovely view of the sea
Cons: Room was a little dated but it was ok
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Absolutely nothing - it was a perfect stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliest personnel I ever met in an hotel. Friendly , happy, Willing to help , to please, striving for the best service. A very big Ryokan room, nice view to the private beach, calm , with deers around. A minivan collects you or brings you to the harbor at any time. You feel to be the only guest even if fully booked. Bicycles available. A hint: choose the stay also with diner. It is excellent. All meals Japanese and very tasty.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely views over the beach and sea. Very friendly staff, trying to help in anyway they can. Lovely evening meal in our own private room.

Pros: This hotel is situtated roughly mid-way between Hiroshima castle and the Peace Park. Both are within easy walking distance. Our room was on the 29th floor and offered a spectacular view overlooking the castle and its grounds. Our room was a good size with more than adequate facilities. Despite the room rate including breakfast, we overslept and didn't make it which, of itself, is a good indicator of the comfort of the bed ! However, we can't comment on the food, as we did not sample any. Also a good area for shopping and eating, plenty of choice on offer.
Cons: Nothing whatsoever.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A pleasant stay at a difficult time for us all. Wonderful view of the castle and mountains.
