Cons: No complaints!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, hot coffee always available, snacks Location was amazing Interior design and style was incredible! Every room was stunning
Cons: A few recommendations - Dim the lights slightly in the evening to make it more inviting Wine instead of just hard alcohol and mixers in the evenings! Would be great if you could offer reimbursement or passes to the nearby YMCA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We went there for Salem's Halloween Happenings. The Merchant was within walking distance of every place we wanted to visit. It was warm, cozy and the attention to details was very impressive. The breakfast served in the morning was a welcome delight to get us on our day's adventures, and it was also a chance to socialize with some of the other guests (we met some really nice people!). Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Tommy and Tamara were the most friendly and helpful hosts we could have asked for. We will definitely be back! :o)

Pros: Location and amenities. If we asked for it we got it. Yoga mat, ice, corkscrew, and maintenance. We had one of the newly renovated rooms which was really beautiful. Fantastic view into the harbour.
Cons: Some of the new renovations were not checked thoroughly for functionality. Toilet ran and needed adjustment. The sliding door into the bathroom could not be opened or closed without significant effort. Maintenance could not fix it as the door is too heavy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a true 5 star experience
Cons: The AC in the room had a very strong fan, even when turned down low - it did not extend to the bed so it worked for me but if I had sat at the desk, it was to the point of uncomfortable. But the overall hotel experience was first rate.

Stepping Stone Inn - Salem - Building
3
9.5 Excellent (100 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Stepping Stone Inn, you'll be centrally located in Salem, steps from Salem Witch Museum and within a 5-minute walk of Peabody Essex Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was as advertised. The Inn is as central as you could ask for. Easy walking distance to all the attractions. The owners are lovely with an interesting past.
Cons: Nothing really. It was a bit on the expensive side but you do pay a premium for a central location in Salem in October, the spookiest month of the year.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Personal bathroom for each room. They were a bit tight but to keep the rooms at a reasonable size, it wasn’t much of an issue. The ease of access to all the attractions in Salem. This place was simply the best, and parking was free too!
Cons: Some nights it did get a little stuffy or hot. We were able to use the fan they provided in the room though. The only other thing would be noise attenuation. You could hear through most the walls and floors because it’s an old house. Some insulation in the room demising walls and some floor sound mat could help with this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Matt’s coffee really made the breakfast. Excellent location.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We liked the location of the Inn. It is in walking distance of almost everything. The proprietors are very nice and knowledgeable of the town and the happenings.
Cons: The rain.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is very convenient - it is 2 blocks from the visitor center and within easy walking distance of several museums and restaurants. It is right next to the Salem Witch Museum. The proprietor was very helpful and greeted us promptly when we arrived and provided lots of information about the area. He recommended a local restaurant and even provided coupons for a free dessert. We stayed in the Monterey room which was very comfortable and we did have a private bath also.
Cons: We were disappointed that a cooked breakfast was not included, although the proprietor explained that a restaurant license is required in order to provide this amenity. There were muffins and fruit/cheese provided, and this limitation is noted on their web page.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was more than expected. Coffee was amazing. The location was easy to find and in walking distance to all tourist attractions.
Cons: Nothing it was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The inn couldn’t be any closer to the center of everything. The accommodations were comfortable and the dining room each morning had 40’s and 50’s music playing. The living room has furniture where you can easily curl up with a good book and the beds guaranteed a good night’s sleep.

Pros: Really friendly owners. Super clean rooms close to everything
Cons: Small bath rooms
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very well located and the owners were friendly and helpful.

Pros: The size of the room was great and the location is fabulous. I liked the Lindt chocolates at turn down service and the staff at breakfast in the city table were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Our room was right opposite the lift so at the weekend it was really noisy. The bed mattresses are very soft so I’ve ended up with back problems. Reception staff were cursory and not welcoming or friendly. The staff in the City bar were not friendly at all when we were in there on Tuesday pm. The concierge women were more interested in chatting to their receptionist friends that helping people. It’s a shame as some staff were great but others need refresher training in customer attentiveness and service.

Pros: All the staff at this location were very friendly!
Cons: The room was very outdated. Walls were thin, I’m sure I heard our neighbors snoring at one point. Our sheets had a large tear in them. The room wasn’t worth what I paid. This is the second time I’ve tried the Kimpton, different locations but both disappointing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was a perfect size, nice sitting area with the view of the street action. Too bad we did not have tge time to take advantage of sitting! Staff more then helpful. Literature, maps of area helpful. Bathroom super clean. Bed very comfortable, nice to provide an iron and ironing board. Good selection for breakfast, certainly beats the so-call "continental" breakfast at other places. Nice lobby to sit in also. Location for where I need to go perfect, using the T and bus routes. That is why we have been staying for the past 3 years!'
Cons: Next time we go we will have a queen size bed. King to big for us. Bathtub was a challenge at first. Someone needs to check the valve and pressure of water coming out of the head of shower. Everyrhing else perfect. Thank you

Stepping Stone Inn - Salem - Building
