The staff were friendy and helpful, the rooms were spotlessly clean, towells changed daily. great location for getting around city and nice area with a few bars and restaurants if you didnt want to wonder too far. Nice and quiet. A safe was provided free of charge in each room. The only negative point raised by a member of our group was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Proximity to the vatican
The cleaning staff at the hotel was very nice and curteous, much moreso than the rest of the staff. The included breakfast and service was below average at best and the staff at the front desk was not helpful. The location was close to the Vatican, but not very close to the main part of the city, or to many notable restaurants.
location and the staff, everything is very nice
The hotel rooms were roomy and clean. Very close walking distance from the Vatican. Not as centrally located from a majority of the historcial sites.
facilities and excelent location in rome n/a
to be near every where
Great location near Vatican. Quiet. Clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Balcony rooms were nice feature over most other hotels. Restaurant food and service was very good. Would definitely stay here again..
We are very satisfied with our Superior Double Room and all its amenitites especially the Starbeds (soft feather beds) and the bedding.
We wanted a hotel within walking distance of the Vatican, and yours was great. We had just come off a month in Egypt and wanted 4 days of pampering and top level hotel experience to rest before flying home, and your hotel provided it. We will come back and recommend it to others. No complaints whatsoever.
The staff was great.
The location is very nice. When I booked this hotel I thought it was a nice modern hotel but it turned out to be a kind of hostel-like hotel. Breakfast was served on dirty tables and placemats and the very friendly lady was overloaded with work, so no empty tables were available. However the room was clean, but no soap, shampoo was provided.
I liked most the position of the hotel Personnel of the hotel
romanian stuff...very profesionally and nice...and of course the room ..was nice Breakfast
Hotel is located in central Rome with easy access to the major sites of interest. Hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel has an interesting modern decor. There are lots of local restaurants to visit. No...
Pleasant staff. The room was too dark.
Everthing was great, location and the Front Desk girls were absolutely wonderful, friendly and very helpful. Lucia was fantascite. I will go back again and refer all of my friends and family.
Very complicated to find the entrance and parking. You have to carry all laggages without help up and down. Not good maintenance. Good location. Realy expencive for that service. No lunch packet for early departures not even a coffee or tea.
The whole layout is wonderfull! Etrance, reception zone, roof-terrace are comfortable! Rooms are clean & nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable as well. Breakfast is pretty nutritious and nicely served! I wonder what's the difference between lemon, orange and mandarine suits (located at different floors)?? The room size is smaller than we imagined looking at pictures at web-site. Still enough for sleeping & changing clothes in the room. Actually the only usefull space in the room is the bed (pretty comfortable). Besides we didn't have bath, though it was included into the decription of double deluxe room during booking. And the shower was too small for 2 persons together, well for one person it's comfortable enough.
The position in center on the town is the only one nice issue of this Hotel The price is not right : very little rooms, old style, breakfast very poor, nothing of exclusive as reported in presentation (I stayed in the deluxe room!)
helpful 'young at heart' staff
Closer to the Vatican
Location, staff, professional courtesies, public spaces, rooms, breakfasts, snacks and late evening, late summer drinks on their quite amazing patio. No.
Excelent location with view to San Pietro, beautiful terrace, very good service, nice staff
location of the hotel
The location was great, literally next to St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The breakfast was great with meat, eggs, breads, etc. The room was small, somewhat austere. The pictures show a terrace with a city view, but you couldn't really go out on it, it was gated off.
situation, aesthetics, staff, room One night person was less helpful re internet access. Actually I think he just didn't have the right knowledge/training. Otherwise the hotel staff were absolutely excellent.
People are very nice and do anything to accomodate you. Location of the hotel is just on San Peter Plazza. Internet is free in the room. breakfast is great. The day of our departure, it was too early for them so they prepare a breakfast in a pack for us to take-out. The taxi they selected was in advance. It was a wonderful time to stay in this hotel.
the location, if you wanna be close to vatican this hotel is literally in vatican, very clean, service is good breakfast is nice, and the terrace with view of vatican is spectacular specially at night, it makes yo feel you are still inside of st peter square. free internet and very easy connection ia also a plus. nothing
Location was great No Iron
It was an excellent location. Despite its close proximity to the Vatican the hotel was very peaceful with a delightful courtyard seating area. The staff were very helpful. The lack of a bathtub in the bathroom.
I like the cleanliness and accessibility of the hotel, especially the room where we statyed. I wish we were provided with adapater when we requested for it.
The staff was incredible and the location was perfect. The walls in the hotel were very "thin" and you could hear everything in your neighbor's room.
Staff were excellent. Location was fantastic for St peters square. We particularly enjoyed our evening drink in the cloister area. Refreshingly different to the usual chain purpose built hotels. Hotel was full with a largish party in. At breakfast on one day we timed it wrong and no tables available for awhile.
Location of hotel
The courtyard & statues. I did not get the two single beds.
location of the hotel, the staff nothing
Beautiful palazzo just outside St. Peter's Square. Elegant courtyard with candlelight in the evenings. Terrific staff: helpful with tour and restaurant reservations and especially advice regarding seeing Rome with limited time. Wonderful breakfast in the refectory. The location could not have been better for seeing Vatican and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
St. Peter's Square down the avenue; lovely courtyard; all the staff was customer friendly; excellent recommendations for dinner; air conditioning was functioning in April, 2016. Room was very clean & non smoking in the hotel. Bar/cafe had decent prices on wine & lighter food items & wait staff was terrific. Rooms are very small; bathroom smaller than cruise ship with bifold doors on the shower. Breakfast was 730a; if your tour is earlier, you are out of luck & must go out to eat. Would have been nice to have coffee available in the lobby. 4 star class is a stretch if you book room with 2 twin beds.
Location Charge for 1hour delay check out 30€ ! And did not call to room
friendly,comfortable, great location no
It was a quiet, relaxed hotel. All the staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was good. Location was good...approx. 200 yds from St. Peter's. We will stay here again. Shower was small.
Staff was very friendly and helpful
The hotel has a good location, just in front of the Vatican Museum. Nice room, nice breakfast, very helpful staff.
The hotel staff was very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms are well furnished and ample.
the excellent location it is so near to st peters and the vatican and very close to all the historic places of interest and wonderful restuarants and shops . the breakfast in the hotel was exeptional i have never seen so much choice the scambled eggs and bacon were excellent and great to start the day i will certainly stay at this hotel again and would recomend it to anyone visiting rome
The room was luxurious, The hotel staff was very accomidating to our needs.
The staff was extremely personable, knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast offered a wonderful selection of cold and hot foods, nicely set out. We would likely not stay there again, as the neighborhood is very noisy and we had to change rooms to a lower quality to get on the non-street side of the hotel. Also, the enormous lines of tourists every day waiting to get into the Vatican Museum snaked in front of the hotel and were overwhelming.
Room was large and had a nice bathroom. Breakfast was great. Hot and cold buffet. Very clean.
The hotel was directly across the street from the Vatican museum. The hotel is small with a friendly and very helpful staff! Nico and Jorge were always very helpful and Nico made arrangements for tours and answered questions about such prior to our arrival. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful and plentiful. Can't understand why anyone would give this a negative review. The only negative I have is the bed, but compared to all of the positives it was a minor complaint. I would definitely stay here again and hope to someday! The bed.
the location was great and the staff were fantastic. The provided breakfast was also delicious
As we were going to Museo Vaticano, location was perfect. Very nice bedroom, bathroom very well equipped. I was disappointed that there was no airport shuttle on Sunday. People travel seven days a week.
Hotel staff was very accomdating and was able to take care of all our problems. The driving directions were not very good and hard to follow. no
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts. Clean and nicely decorated
The hotel was excellent, the staff extremely friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay (we only wish our viist were longer!)
The location was unbeatable & the room was nicely appointed and clean! Even with the windows open at night there was no traffic/city noise and the breakfast offered plenty of options. For 4 people the room was quite small. When the second bed was open there wasn't any room to walk around the far side of the bed & there was only room for 2 small suitcases.
The location is very good, a 10 minute walk from the line a metro station and a 15 minute walk to st peters square. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection Avoid eating at the bar go out for lunch and evening meals
The breakfast was of a very high standard and with a good choice of items. The shower cubicle doors did not open wide enough my mum who was travelling with me and does not have good mobility struggled to get in and out the cubicle.
very close to the vatican The light fixture fell off the ceiling, which the attendant did not believe it was possible. I looked as if it's happened before looking at the fixture parts and the ceiling. Also, one of the beds was wet for some reason. This was the third time we stayed here and had outstanding stay the first two times.
localization, charming hotel
Great location near the Vatican. Very nice room with a balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. The elavator was slow and small. There was no AC in the room, but we were able to open the balcony door to get a cool breeze.
Very nice hotel near the Vatican. Great location for sightseeing. Very helpful staff and excellent breakfasts!
The hotel was in a really good location. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Terrific location - historic building with a lvely coutyard/garden for dining.Very quiet despite being only 200 metres from St Peter's Square Bathroom and bedroom a little dated - could do with some renovation (comfortable though)
Location and ambiance of the hotel is excellent. Rooms were quiet and comfortable if in need of some renovation. Staff were efficient and friendly. The restaurant was pricey but the food and service were first class. The breakfast is a bit basic and needs more imagination in the choice and presentation.
Location, helpful staff. though staff quite formal. Room was a little bit tatty - I think they could do with an overhaul. That would be a big job though, as it is a big hotel
Atmospher, welcoming and history of the building
Good location with pleasant day staff. Air conditioning did not work during a hot early September week and the management was not at all concerned. Our party had five rooms all w/the same problem. Night staff not very accommodating and neither the desk nor the restaurant could break a 20 Euro (not 50 or 100) note and acted put out by the request. Luckily I scraped up enough coins to tip the maid.
location beds were not comfortable and there were insects inside the room
Service was excellent. Location excellent. We had lunch in the garden one day, it was amazing nothing of consequence. you cannot expect the same conveniences in a 500 year old building as in a newly built hotel.
It was cool at night with windows open. No A/C
the location is excellent. The dining room for evening meals is very beautiful. The rooms need of updating and renovation.
hotel location 1) hotel charged me higher than what i booked 2) room is very small and not same as picture 3) room floor is not clean
At wedding whilst staying at the Columbus.Reception held there and it was magical.
First of all, hotel staff were very approachable and accommodating. They were willing to answer or give whenever we asked for something. Maintained room cleanliness. The lift is I think not in standard size as you would expect in a hotel.
location to the vatican
Comfortable and clean room, very willing personnel, decent breakfast The elevator was out of order for three days, and although they tried to repair, we had to reach the fourth floor by stairs!
We were upgraded as it was our wedding anniversary and a complimentary bottle of champagne was in our room on arrival - very thoughtful. The bathroom was very poor: jaccuzi bath did not work, the reception had to be called to get the bath plug out each time; the toilet flush on the wall was broken; no hooks to hang towels etc; toilet seat well worn - the bathroom needs a complete re-fit. The bedroom itself was roomy and excellent which hugely cpompensated for the inadequate bathroom facilities.
We chose this hotel because of it's location near the Vatican. There were lots of restaurants and shops nearby as well. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. The only "improvement" I could suggest making is to put some shade on the terrace. It would have been lovely to go up there during the day for a break, but it was too hot and sunny to stay long.
Yes, that is very strange that a 4 star hotel dont have any restaurant only in the sister hotel.
Good value considering how expensive hotels are in Rome. Good location near Vatican and quiet. If you want to be in the middle of all of the action and crowds...Trevi, Spanish Steps, etc, this is not a good location. ALso, the roof at Atlante Star (sister hotel)where we could otherwise have had our breakfast was closed for renovation. We should have been told that.
They were very efficient at picking us up at the airport (I worried about that - being in a foreign country & not speaking the language, etc.). The location was good - walking distance to several tourist sites. Very clean room. I corresponded via e-mail with one of the hotel's staff and they were very helpful and reassuring. They made me more comfortable in traveling abroad for the first time. Too expensive.
Yes, it was classified as a 4 star, but should have been more like a 2 1/2 star. There was no restaurant. Breakfast was not great and the facilities of the hotel was inadequate. Lots of things in the room were missing or broken.
The free shuttle service from the airport is a big plus. Next to the Vatican. Good service. The bathroom is now getting old - needs renovation. Also, when I arrived the temperature in the room was 7oC as the two windows were left open by the cleaning lady. It took over 6 hours to get the room temperature over 20oC!
