This is the third time that I have paid for a car that the rental car company classifies as an intermediate, only to be given a compact or sub-compact SUV. this time it was a Kia Soul that according to the thrifty website is a compact car, not a intermediate, but you already know that. Your counter agents are well versed in attempting to upsell the client on insurance and toll road transponders. Under NYS law neither are required and I had my own transponder with me so I accepted neither. NYS and I are fully aware of these upsell techniques.Reviewed 28 Apr 2025

I WENT ONLINE AND RESERVED A CAR. WENT TO THE AIRPORT IN ORLANDO AND STOOD IN LINE FOR 30 MINUTES, ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT MY DEBIT/CREDIT CARD. I FIND THAT UNACCEPTABLE. Terrible, they gave me a “special” rate where is should have said fully electric car because the car was more costly than a midsize sedan which lead me to believe it was a larger vehicle. The person at the desk refused to change my deal because it was purchased on Kayak and then proceeded to try to upsell me a car that was going to be twice as expensive than the internet price. I was upsold liability insurance which he said I needed to rent his car. I have in the past signed a waiver to use my own insurance liability. TOTAL SCAM, I ended up paying $200 more then I had previously booked and agreed upon. Something should be done, Total SCAM!!!!!!Reviewed 29 Oct 2024
