KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Brisbane

  • There are no direct flights from London to Brisbane so your choice of airline might depend on the shortest flight time or where you would like to stop over. Emirates flies via Dubai from Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted while Cathay Pacific flies from Heathrow with a stop in Hong Kong. The Australian national carrier Qantas also flies from Heathrow. Be careful when booking your flight, as many of the airlines flying on this route have a second stop over somewhere in Australia, such as Melbourne or Cairns, before flying to Brisbane.
  • For business class passengers on Qantas wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of Heathrow Airport before flights from London to Brisbane, there is an airline lounge situated at T3. The Qantas London Lounge is open from 8:00am until 9.15pm and can be used by Qantas First and International Business Class passengers as well as various elite cardholders belonging to Qantas, Emirates or the One World Alliance. Facilities include food, drinks and bar service, showers and toilets, and free internet and WiFi access.
  • If you have left your souvenir shopping until the last minute look no further than Australian Way – a shop that has branches at both international and domestic terminals. Here you can buy handcrafted goods as well as locally made products and any number of soft toy animals to remind you of your trip to Australia.
  • Fancy treating yourself to a local meal at one of the restaurants in Brisbane Airport as you arrive? The Glasshouse Bar is a good option as its menu has a range of dishes created with food and drink that have been sourced from local suppliers and producers. In addition to the fabulous choices on the menu you can dine with an unhindered view of the runway.
  • For those travelling with babies and/or children Brisbane Airport has parenting rooms located throughout its terminal buildings. These rooms have changing tables, feeding facilities such as high chairs, and some of them are equipped with microwaves to heat food and water. To keep older children entertained there is a permanent interactive screen through passport control where various airport-themed games can be played. Alternatively, the terminals at Brisbane Airport have windows where you can watch planes landing and taking off.
  • If you want to find cheap flights from London to Brisbane and cut your carbon emissions when you travel, KAYAK’s CO2 search filter can help. For instance, you can reduce your carbon output by more than 50% if you fly with Cathay Pacific or Qantas Airways from London Heathrow (LHR). Flights to Brisbane with these airlines take 23-26h, including one layover, and can slightly reduce your travel costs compared with other routes.
  • Brisbane Airport (BNE) has ample parking for passengers being collected from the terminals by car. Drivers can either book a short-stay parking space online for A$10 (£6) per 2h stay or pay the drive-up rate of A$21 (£12) per 1h. The short-stay car park is just a few minutes’ walk from the Arrivals Terminal, making it perfect for picking up visitors.
  • Looking to find cheap flights from London to Brisbane when travelling with kids? London Heathrow Airport is well-equipped for families, with kids’ play areas located inside all five terminals. If you’re flying to Brisbane with Emirates, Qantas or American Airlines from Terminal 3, you can find the play area on the level above the departures lounge. Really great service throughout and the food was really nice. I can highly recommend thank you very much.

I loved the full Taylor Swift selection but felt that the other selections were limited, didn’t span the popular music eras nor a wide enough range of music genres. BUT the seat and bed were GREAT (it was wide, long enough, had great storage, firm enough to uphold body postural comfort). Outstanding crew and really great food - gourmet innovative dim sum breakfast so different from the boring standard fare offered by many other business class products.

The consistency with Singapore Airlines is fantastic. Crew are always brilliant and food delicious in business class

The business class seats were very uncomfortable. When in lie flat position my legs were very restricted.

Service excellent would chose Singapore airlines as my first choice

Didn't like much at all Nowhere near enough legroom, narrow seats. Aisles not wide enough for safe food trolley access and husband had his knee hit cos not enough leg room. Would take a lot to convince us to fly Singapore Airlines again which is a pity cos it was always our go-to airline

Perfect experience from boarding through to leaving the flight, comfortable and personalised service from all staff, highly recommended

A very small gate at Singapore airport, lots of people packed into a small area…. A Petrie dish for infection. The flight was late although the captain did make up time. We had an aisle and middle economy class seat on the plane. The flight appeared to be very full. The seats were small, hard and very uncomfortable with minimal leg room. I’m a small woman and felt really cramped. My husband is a big man and stated he was unable to move at all in his seat. We were given 2 meals during the flight from Singapore to Brisbane. Our first meal was okay at best but the second meal was inedible. I think it was supposed to be veg in pastry but the pastry was full of air with minimal if any filling. The staff were pleasant and efficient. Getting off the plane went without any problems. It did take an extended period of time for our bags to come out onto the carousel. For the best ‘airline’ in the world, it was pretty poor. If Singapore is the best, what are the others like?

The male traveller seated in the row in front diagonally opposite my husbands seat across the aisle as soon as the seatbelt sign went off moved across the aisle into the seat in front of my husband for the entire journey from London to Singapore he had his seat reclined and pushed back and the seat touching my husbands knees for the entire journey from London to Singapore. very uncomfortable for my husband.

More Baggage limit Alternative of virtual check in at airport , prefer personal touch with “real person”check in counter for baggage drop

The go to HK trip will easily giving jetlag, but coming back to Chicago has no jetlag because of the time taking off matter.

when i ask for help all the crew members had a look like why are you calling me? very terse and rude.

great experience. better than all other airlines flying this route.

Close to excellent. The only problem is when I try to charge my phone on the USB in front of my seat, the battery level is decreasing rather than increasing. Why?

Better. I took an aisle seat this time. Although the overheard compartment above the seat ahead of me kept opening up during flight.

It was okay overall but the food was very, very bad.

As a solo traveller, I always prefer to have an aisle seat, but the flight was so full, there weren’t any available. I understand that the seatbelt sign sometimes has to go on if turbulence is anticipated but after the second food service, it was on continuously for about an hour and a half and there didn’t seem to be any turbulence at all! With seats reclined, my fellow passenger in the aisle seat asleep and the seatbelt sign on I felt very trapped, extremely uncomfortable and in desperate need of the bathroom. The positives were that the staff were very friendly, the entertainment was great and we actually took off on time and arrived in HKG earlier than expected.

There is very little in the title" Premium" in the Economy experience with Cathay, Melbourne to Hong Kong. The seats are uncomfortable and the cabin with outdated 1990's decor and trim. The food service was sloppy and the leg room providing little to no advantage over regular economy seating. Infact, the Sunday flight was not fill occupancy and I would have done better saving the significant additional costs for the PREMIUM ticket and taken advantage of the seating. If you are a regular premium economy traveler of EMIRATES expecting the same experience on CATHAY, you will be disappointed. Emirates far superior.

Very comfortable flights. Not so many new releases in terms of films.

The aircraft was slightly newer but the food was very bad. Bland and uninteresting. Nothing special at all.

Poor seats. Not helpful crew. The food was awful.overall very very bad experience. Traveled with the family of 5

China Southern was not the problem. I booked my flight through Kayak and also received a booking reference and alert details regarding departure time and gate numbers… however Kayak NEVER actually booked my flight! We were stranded at the airport without a flight for a long awaited holiday!

The crew were kind, patient and responsive. The service was excellent, even though we travelled the cheapest economy class. We arrived at our destination 40 min early, which for a 15+ hour flight is a great bonus. The boarding seemed a bit "loose", but got us boarded on time, and the plane was off exactly @ 0:30 hrs.

Not good - chair back could not move back for premium economy. Not worth the price

It was great. The staff were so nice and helpful the food was great and they always made sure I was okay. As a foreigner I was worried about the language barrier but it was absolutely no issues. I highly recommend

Crew: Everybody was polite. People just need to get efficient and less reworking things. Entertainment: Could have move movies and games. The “music” section is a joke, only ONE available. Food: The food provided on the flights boarding in china needs a serious reworking. Too much oil, bad for your stomach, tastes too artificial and the eggs were a giant mass of green dough.

No wheelchair service at all ( I did request that service and also purchased the priority assistant bundle) , what a waste of money

I love flying Chinese airlines in general but China Southern is probably the worst of the lot. The service is poor and food is below par.

No red vine, no whiskey, no vodka. No that I wanted all of them at once but still...

The flight was okay it was the kayak customer service that was poor, I have been trying to change my name on my flight ticket 3 days before my flight and nothing got done about it even tho I messaged so many times and phoned, all I got in return was that is was being processed and still to this day nothing has been done about it, I think it’s disgusting and un needed stress to the trip.

Crew and food was good, ok leg room if you don’t have a big box under the seat. And the seats are so narrow (I’m only 70kg), will consider an alternate airline next time

Boarding from DOH to SYD the Business Class were pointed in a separate gate but no one there to receive us. Otherwise it was ok.

Terrible experience resolving missed connection after flight was delayed. 3 hour queue at transit desk, not enough staff, no organisation, worst ever flying experience.

The rows of seats in economy class are seriously close to one another making eating and resting just about impossible - there is hardly any legroom. Anyone larger than average size would have an incredibly uncomfortable flight. I had to basically share my seat with the lady passenger next to me as she was too big to fit into her allotted seat.

Food was good, attendants were friendly. Seats were not comfortable. Did not receive any amenities such as eyemask or earplugs that would have helped sleep. Additionally a large group of passengers boarded very late into boarding and were a disruption for almost the whole flight. Flight attendants did their best but the kids were making so much noise, kicking seats, and half the time no adult was sat with them so they weren’t being managed.

I staff or crew they were very friendly and humbly, they done theirs service very well, I appreciate them and thank you to the company or Qatar 🇶🇦 Government for providing as good service in their flight ,once again, thank you 😊 🙏 😀 😉 👍

Crews are very rude and unhelpful. Cramped seats in economy. Foods are useless

Lovely aircraft and I flight entertainment. Good leg room. Full flight crew struggled a bit

Food not good as good as last time flew with them

Seats very uncomfortable, impossible to sleep. Food average, bakery items not fresh. Pockets in seats not large enough to hold a book and a few other items. Cabin temperature too cold, even with blanket. Good selection of movies. Other than that 12 hours of torture!

I was traveling alone with an infant, so the crew was incredibly helpful. Both the international and subsequent domestic flights were impeccable.

Plane was good. But food was bad and air host was so rude. I will never fly with China Eastern again

CTU-KMG-CNX with 1.5 hr connection at KMG. Doable but just barely bc immigration exit from China is at the last flight leg, here: KMG to CNX. We hauled out of the domestic terminal to reenter at the international departures (luggage checked thru to CNX thankfully). Immigration had only two agents, even though KMG gets a HUGE number of foreigners. It took forever for such a shot line. Then security also took a while, so I just just made the connection. Recommend if you exit China with domestic international transfer, plan for 2+ hrs to avoid a heart attack. Airline personnel don’t suffer if you miss the flight, you do. Plan accordingly.

Super surprised with the entire experience. Business class is incredible. Flight attendants around the world could learn customer service from these people. Simply fabulous experience all the way around.

Pillow and blanket are dirty. My son got multiple bites during the flight

Better good than most, if not all European airlines. If you’re stuck in an economy seat anyways, China Eastern is a good choice because of shorter flight time, being able to overfly Russia

Great staff and food. Seats pretty uncomfortable but plenty of legroom. Entertainment system outdated.

Flight was fine, however we were not able to check in online, this adds to travel stress. Luckily check-in at Heathrow was quick, but we did not get the seats we paid extra for. We paid for a window and 2 aisle seats from Shanghai to Tokyo leg, but they changed us to middle seats. Not good :(

2 hours delay on the 1st plane out of the day!!!!!

I will never fly through China again. Maybe it was the mandatory retinal scan just to transfer to another flight or the complete set of fingerprints they require. There are many better and inexpensive flights to Asia if you look.
