Pros: "Didn’t make my flight"
Cons: "If the app didn’t send me a message saying my flight had been delayed when it was in fact on time."
Pros: "Very smooth flight, friendly staff."

Pros: "Crew was great."
Cons: "In flight entertainment was poor. Seat was poor."
Pros: "Good leg room for a change."
Pros: "Staff is friendly."
Cons: "We didn’t appreciate the walk from Gate 4 to Gate 41 TWICE when the departure gate was changed. We are in our 80’s and it was quite a trek!"
Cons: "Lazy flight attendant. Only got served once during the entire flight"
Pros: "On time and friendly! This was my first experience with West Jet. If the opportunity comes along...I will gladly travel with them again."
Pros: "The flight attendant was very nice and checked on me quite often"
Cons: "Capt made the decision to delay push back by about 18 minutes to wait for 2 passengers A very nice gesture which I understand but I had to run at yvr to get my connecting flight ."
Pros: "The crew was kind when they gave me an extra bag of pretzels to calm my rolling stomach on a flight that while over 4 hours long does qualify for even a decent sized bag of pretzels."
Cons: "I think the seats on westjet are ridiculous, are they smaller than other planes. I was practically in the lap of the person next to me. I'm 5'7 and I couldn't even rest my head on my knees to stop the extreme motion sickness. I couldn't even finish my flight today because I couldn't stand the nausea and I couldn't rest in a seat 2 sizes too small for a regular sized person. I had to lay down and when it didn't subside I had to find accommodation. I will never fly with westjet again. But thanks you know for the pretzels."
Pros: "Flight right on time"
Cons: "Crying baby behind me, man sitting next to me was sleeping on me, when I asked to switch seats, the response was “sorry.. are you ok though?”"
Pros: "Thought the flight left a little late, we still arrived on time."
Cons: "The seats weren't that comfortable. Though I'm not fat there was little room to move left or right there was however ample leg room considering I'm fairly tall. Though the flights are quite expensive no meal is included., only drinks and snacks."
Pros: "Quick, efficient boarding and deplaning."
Cons: "This was a flight that aligned with 4:00am-9:00am vancouver time, I thought we would get lights diimmed and time for us to sleep, but it was bright and loud the whole time."
Pros: "Communication via the phone app was very good about delays."
Cons: "They had no inflight entertainment."
Pros: "getting to Vancouver in short time."
Cons: "No movi"
Pros: "Arriving early."
Cons: "Uncomfortable seats."
Pros: "Good flight plenty of water."
Cons: "Very nice. Nothing"
Pros: "Pre departure check in and seat selection"
Cons: "Flight was 30 mins late in departure. No in flight entertainment"
Cons: "Lots of delays on both flights. Expensive in flight meal options. Even in flight entertainment was with payment only."
Pros: "The flight and the seating was comfortable. Food served was fine too."
Cons: "Well, they mixed up my check-in luggage during transit. As a result it got delayed and I had to spend the night without it. Although, I was informed about this miss when I landed in Vancouver, the team did not seem to feel particularly bad about it. Also, the process of getting reimbursed for the predefined expenditure allowance needs to be more efficient. Ideally, in such cases, the airlines should not only refund the check-in fee, but also provide a prepaid card to make any urgent purchases. Their current process requires one to bear the expenses initially, scan/click and send the original receipts and await a response from their baggage team. I am waiting to hear back from them on my submission."
Pros: "good looking crew members"
Cons: "ugly pilot"
Pros: "Great food glad I preordered. Great flight and crew"
Cons: "Didn’t know I needed to download the WestJet app in advance - wish there was a way to download it locally from a server on the plane and/or receive a message in advance suggesting to download. I have now downloaded it after I got off the plane and looking forward to trying it out on the return flight"
Pros: "The wifi inflight service"
Cons: "No food, only snacks."
Pros: "Our flight moved up one hour from our original booking, which wasn't ideal, though we were rerouted, transferring in Calgary rather than Vancouver. This should have saved us time, so we didn't mind."
Cons: "But then we sat on the tarmac in Toronto for an hour and a half, which cause us to miss our connecting flight in Calgary. In the end, we got home later than planned. The flight was fine, but the changes and delays were frustrating."
Pros: "Had an empty seat next to me, the extra space made the flight one of the most comfortable I've ever been on"
Pros: "Seats are fairly comfortable. Everything mostly went smoothly."
Cons: "Cannot use the in-flight entertainment system due to not having the WestJet app. Not able to download the app in flight. WestJet should at least provide a $0.99 internet option for 5 minutes, or allow free internet access to the App store for a few minutes to download the WestJet app."
Pros: "We took off, we flew, we landed and walked away."
Cons: "5hrs and 9min flight time. Add boarding and alighting at the other end - adds up to over 6 hours travel time. WestJet will supply you with a coffee or tea and a cookie, pretzel or cheese stick packet. Wow! You get to watch fair selection of movies etc on your own phone or tablet - IF you have downloaded the app BEFORE you leave the terminal.Wow! If you need to wait for the bathroom the stewardess tells you to wait in the aisle behind row 3... really? So I can't just stand here in the galley and wait... no sir, behind row 3. Best advice - fly Air Canada - these guys do not deserve your money!"
Pros: "We got there"
Cons: "I just cannot understand why WestJet cannot seat six people travelling together together. I mean really folks, it can’t be that hard... especially since five of those passengers have the same surname! Finally, is a cup of coffee and cookie and a glass of water really sufficient for a 5hr 9min flight, which adds to well over six hours with boarding and alighting time included."
Pros: "Due to a baggage check-in snafu, we were very late to arrive at our gate. But we made it! And the staff were still very kind to us even though we arrived so late and they didn't know why. The flight was probably the smoothest I've ever been on, and the snack and beverage service was just fine - I loved that cookies were an option and not just pretzels. Overall, an excellent experience!"
Cons: "Too short"
Pros: "They brought the movie thingy out right away and managed to watch 2 movies made the whole trip thanks west jet"
Cons: "Always the food seems like every sandwich has cheese in it or sausages. Meat both have dairy and I have dairy allergies it makes it hard how about a good old tuna sandwich (not old) u just get a well made sticker and put it on the old menu"
Pros: "Flights were on time and luggage arrived safely."
Cons: "I couldn't access inflght movies as I didn't realize I had to have the WestJet App downloaded prior to the flight. In any event I like having a screen in front of me rather than looking at a tiny Android screen. Also on a 5 hour flight it seems we should get a hot meal rather than having to pay extra for meals."
Pros: "Go from point a to point b"
Cons: "Westjet will nickel and dime you for everything. Did a +9h flight from Vancouver to London and no meal is included during the whole flight. They keep trying to upsale you for everything. Not only is the food expensive it is also real garbage. Flight was delayed by 75 minutes and nearly missed my connection. Of course no checked baggage is included in your already expensive ticket. You have to fork in another 30$ for the privilege of checking luggage. WestJet pretends to offer 200-300$ cheaper plane tickets compared to the competition, but this is false. I found plenty of other flights for same or even cheaper prices with quality airline companies like Lufthansa or Air Canada that include a meal and checked baggage and other perks, but in my case I had already booked. I really recommending you looking for other airline companies for any flight that is not short haul. WestJet's slogan is an airline company with owner that care... Whatever the hell that means. Maybe someone can explain? WestJet brags about it's outstanding customer service while at the same time cutting every corner possible on service. Kind of a contradiction."
Pros: "The most amazing flight crew. The flight was very cold and one of the flight attendants surprised me with a tea to make sure I was warm. I fly frequently with many different airlines and West Jet ALWAYS has the best flight crew."
Pros: "Haven't flown Westjet in years. Don't know why but I don't have sore kneecaps, was served great coffee, the stewards always smiled and had funny things to say, and the gate keepers were happy and honest. I'm going to be a frequent flyer now for sure."
Cons: "I didn't like....um....nope. no complaints"
Pros: "I always feel welcome when traveling with WestJet. Their cheerful, knowledgeable staff are committed to their passengers wellbeing. They create an atmosphere of comfort, and the seats with enough reclining and leg room add to that. Wherever possible I will always fly with WestJet!"
Cons: "All good"
Pros: "It was fast, friendly and over all made me impressed."
Pros: "Smooth, cost effective and friendly staff."
Pros: "Great service! Crew was very friendly and happy. Flight was online and landed early"
Cons: "No screen on the back of the chairs"
Pros: "When I missed my flight by 5 minutes due to AA failure at the gate. The woman at the westjet gate was super friendly and kind to me. She gave me a good seat and meal vouchers to get me through the night. Unlike AA who could not care less."
Cons: "I missed my flight but that not your fault."
Pros: "Friendly crew. We were able to check our carry on bags to our final destination for free, since it was a full flight."
Cons: "Was surprised that a there was no checked baggage allowance or meal included, especially for an international flight!"
Cons: "Unclear how Air Canada is still claiming “beat airline in North America.” I think that was true 5+ years ago but the last two years they have been an operational nightmare with customer service also being atrocious"
Pros: "I managed to get on an earlier flight with a standby ticket."
Cons: "First, my original flight got delayed to an arrival time that would’ve made me miss the last shuttle to my final destination. My options were either to stay overnight in Vancouver or hire a taxi. Both options would’ve cost me at least $300. Thankfully I had a longer layover in Toronto that gave me some buffer. Otherwise, it would’ve been an additional expense."
Cons: "They should make the rouge player app so that you can see the entertainment options before you are trapped on a plane with no access to WiFi. The offering is pretty sparse, and had I known beforehand I would have brought other content"
Pros: "Polite, helpful crew"
Cons: "Nothing, would recommend"
Pros: "The movies."
Cons: "Seat size"
Cons: "Terrible seating and washrooms."
Cons: "Stuck in the last row with no recline. Seat should be discounted."
Cons: "Unable to change the star rating. They were preselected."
Pros: "The crew on The flight was efficient and friendly."
Cons: "The flight was so crammed. I understand there's the possibility of flying on a fully booked flight but if it took an hour to load the passengers how quickly can you realistically get 400 passengers out? Plus it prevents everyone from having an overhead cubby. You need to reconfigure the flying experiwnce."
Pros: "Liked legroom in the emergency row and the quality of the new entertainment system."
Cons: "One of the washrooms was a disgrace! There was vomit or diarrhea or both on the floor and on the top to the toilet seat. No one bothered to clean it up. Also, my wife identified herself to Lufthansa that she has celiac's disease, yet when the food cart came by, she was informed that all she could purchase that was gluten free was nuts. We found out later that there was a fruit and cheese plate available. Also, it seems that there were few items available from the on board menu. Why bother even having a menu if many of the items were not available? Air Canada should be ashamed!"
Cons: "Air Canada Check In staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. My flight was at 7pm and I arrived at 6:10pm because I got stuck in traffic. I had already checked in online, all I needed was to get my baggage tags and drop my bag off. Instead of telling me where to print out my tag, they made me stand in line to talk to the check in staff at the counter. By the time I got to the counter, it was 7:40 and there was zero chance of my bag being checked in for this flight with the staff showing me attitude. When I told him that all I was here before the drop-off time and all I wanted were tags and that his other staff just told me to line up without helping, he just said "you can buy another ticket for the next flight or leave your bag here and pick it up when you return from your trip." Honestly, the worst customer experience I have ever had!"
Pros: "entertainment system worked well"
Cons: "USB charging jacks didn't work in my seat or the person next to me; long delay offloading due to lack of gates"
Pros: "While I've ranked the crew as poor, that isn't a reflection of the entire crew. The flight crew and check-in team were fine, the boarding I have as mediocre due to delay, but I don't put that on the staff."
Cons: "My issues are two part: 1 - I wasn't informed that I was required to retrieve my luggage from the carousel on this flight from George Town to Toronto. I thought perhaps I missed something, however, the three other couples that were in the same predicament I was weren't aware either. This caused a massive headache, the instructions were superbly poor on how to retrieve the luggage, and the process was completely a waste of time. We had to talk with three different people, the person that took us back to the carousel showed no urgency despite us all explaining that we were on a short layover, and might miss our next flight, and even though we had our passes to get through customs, we were made to wait in line to have our baggage inspected. A completely broken process that could've been avoided with a friendly reminder at check-in. 2 - Once I was able to retrieve my luggage I picked it up off the carousel only to find the handle on one piece of luggage had been ripped off, and the plastic lining on the other bag was destroyed. Admittedly I find this to be no surprise after seeing how mine and everyone else's luggage was handled so poorly upon being loaded into the cargo. I saw my luggage being tossed 3-5 feet into the cargo area - literally picked up, and with complete disregard flung like it was a trash bag being thrown into the dumpster. Since I didn't have time to discuss this with any staff due to my prior issue and being unable to find a representative once I landed back in Vancouver, I called the next day to discuss this over the phone, but the representative explained that I was only able to make a complaint in-person at the time of baggage retrieval. The person was absolutely useless and unwilling to help. This was by far the worst treatment I've had at any time in my life while flying any airline. The trip to George Town was with American Airlines, and even though it was longer, and a tad bit more expensive, the service I had with them was stellar by comparison to my experience with AirCanada. Going forward I will only be using AC when there are absolutely no other options."
Pros: "The plane was clean and seemed very new. The boarding process was streamlined in an organized way. The entertainment system was okay."
Cons: "The plane was a huge B787 Dreamliner and the airline didn't allot enough boarding time to accommodate the hundreds of passengers that needed to get on and settle in. Because of this, the flight was delayed by almost an hour and many people missed their transfers. It seemed like an unreasonable lack of foresight to schedule only the standard half hour before takeoff to board ~300 passengers. On top of that, the flight was roughly four hours long (five with the delay) and no complementary food, even a small snack or two, was offered. The seats in coach were made to be decently comfortable padding-wise, but I felt more packed in like a sardine with the people next to me than on other planes. The flight attendants seemed extremely stressed and overworked, and I couldn't blame them."
Pros: "Staff were great but Air Canada Rouge does not have pods in business class. The food was mediocre at best and there were many technical difficulties with the in-Air entertainment. Also, no wifi? It’s 2018."
Cons: "iPads for entertainment.. had to download Air Canada on your personal device BUT they don’t give you access to real wifi? Basic food. Seats were nothing special."
Pros: "The plane was unable to board on time ,the cabin was too cold. That was a hitch well managed but with a seat near the rear of the aircraft only food option was cup of soup rehydrated with hot water or snacks. May be better food provision could be implemented."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "We are people, just be kind. Asking to be treated in a friendly respectful manner seems to be impossible for Air Canada! I thought Canada was known to be friendly and polite, if that’s true, Air Canada should change its name! They are experts at treating people unnecessarily badly. It’s shocking to witness and harsh and rude shouldnt be descriptors of any company’s customer service agents, especially one who represents a country!!"
Pros: "Knowing that there is not enough head-room for carry-on luggage, I joined to volunteer to check-in my carry-on luggage. Service agent at the counter is very helpful and great service attitude. I asked if they have plastic twistee so I can lock my carry-on luggage before check it in. Unlucky there is none. I hope Air Canada can consider providing this ( I got from Cathy pacific before at check-in luggage counter) since they may help re-assure traveler like me who don't prepare a lock for the hand carry suitcase."
Cons: "1) Flight delay for 1 hour - that is not good 2) Choice of movie are really limited - many are old and very very old movies even though are blockbuster 3) I bought carrot and celery stick; which are wet and in plastic bag => so I cannot avoid making the table wet too! Thought it should be in a simple plastic container => even though I agree to minimal use of plastic for environmental reason. 4) The insufficient headroom for carry-on really slow the boarding time and cause delay in departure. Need better idea to help with this. may be for those who volunteer to check-in their carry on, they get a coupon for priority to board next time?"
Cons: "I got notice at two thirty in the morning while I was sleeping that my flight was cancelled and I was put on an earlier flight, so when I woke up and checked messages my flight was leaving in 90 mins and I needed to get it to make my connection. I almost didn't make it."
Cons: "Entertainment choices limited compared to the past. Very few recent releases (they now have "new to Air Canada" releases and they can be decades old"
Cons: "Asked for a blanket and was refused. Told to buy one for 7$. I just got off another air Canada flight from Rome and they were on every seat. Suddenly I can't use one? Arrived and my luggage was not there. The baggage loss customer service is in India. They were not helpful or competent. 6 days later and I'm still waiting fir my bag. You guys really dropped the ball. I will not use air Canada again if I can help it."
Pros: "Crew took very good care of me. They made sure I had a comfort seat."
Cons: "No enough choice of movies"
Pros: "The airplane was clean."
Cons: "The airline is so cheap they didn't even offer us a bag of pretzels during a five-hour flight."
Pros: "Was offered a hotel for the night after missing my second connection of the trip due to airport construction delays at Pearson International. Some of the staff members were kinder than others."
Cons: "Following first delay and missed connection, I was re-ticketed on a later flight by the Air Canada customer service desk. It wasn't until I looked at the flight schedule online that I realized there was an earlier available flight. I scrambled to the gate and the attendant was very patient and helpful, she promptly checked me in."
Pros: "The professionalism, friendliness, entertainment. I was very satisfied because there has been a lot of negative press about other airlines, but Air Canada seemed really on the ball."
Cons: "nothing really."
Cons: "No wifi"
Pros: "Didn't crash"
Cons: "The seats for economy were way too small...we felt crammed into our seats and crowded the entire flight. We didn't like all of the extra fees compared to West Jet that we flew on our way home. Food vouchers were pre purchased and the crew records were not updated."
Pros: "Thanks for keeping us posted on the updates"
Cons: "Our two-hour layover in Vancouver turned into five and a half hours. No explanation, no compensation, no consideration. This is the third time in a row Air Canada has done this to us - we're taking WestJet from now on."
Cons: "Flights got delayed both going away and coming home. They almost lost baggage and I was going on a cruise the following day. Workers didn't seem to care that I was going to miss my connection. Kinda made it the connecting city's problem."
Pros: "Flight was good. Left a bit late but made up time"
Cons: "Security took nearly an hour to get through even though it didn't look very busy."
Pros: "In attempt to recover the failure, they gave one complimentary drink."
Cons: "Planes got messed up which caused groups to get separated. Plane went from a two aisle plane to a single aisle. They had some sort of excuse but I am sure it was primarily to save money since the flight was not full. In flight entertainment kept restarting and the head jack hardly worked. Flight was delayed over an hour due to the plane switch. Also, to top it off they had one attendant that was dutied out so we had to wait longer for another flight attendant. This should have already been figured out before. I have flown Air Canada a lot and this was just not like them. Quite disappointed."
Cons: "Our flight was cancelled after already waiting through a 3.5 hour delay. The inbound flight was delayed due to weather, and as a result, there was no crew available for our flight. This left us stranded at Pearson at 3am with no Air Canada agents available for assistance. After a two hour wait on hold with Air Canada customer service, we were told the earliest flight we could get on was two days later. Unacceptable. We ended up having to buy tickets with WestJet. Weather delays are understandable. Not having sufficient customer service agents available for assistance nor having enough crew on call is inexcusable and incompetent."
Pros: "Very helpful crew and staff assisting with golf buggy ride"
Pros: "The crew were really friendly and efficient, boarding was fast and easy. (There was a delayed start that wasn't communicated to us) I like that the new audio system the way that it is in front of you so that you can't accidentally unplug your audio or someone else's! There weren't very many interruptions throughout the flight and the staff came quickly when called. Thank you!"
Cons: "The system was easy to use and visually appealing but I found the selection strange; very few movies and many of the same type and the way that episodes of shows are selected, ie half way through a season? The seats were comfortable but a bit small so rubbing against a stranger's arm for 5 hours wasn't the best, but I suppose it was a good deal for economy seats!"
Pros: "There was more room on this plane. Also an agent was waiting at the gate with hotel and meal vouchers when we landed in Vancouver. The hotel we stayed in was very nice."
Cons: "Disappointed in the lack of room for one small carry-on. By the time I boarded following the proper protocol, all overhead space was taken. I hate that Air Canada charges extra for emergency exit, as I am tall so I do not fit in normal economy seats if the person in front of me reclines. Overall, would NOT recommend Air Canada because of all of my leg room issues."
Cons: "Worse pizza ever! A 5 hour flight with not even a free snack. Shame on Air Canada. You should fly KLM or Air France to learn what food should be like on an airline, and customer service. Within Europe or overseas, no charge for great food, free alcohol and smiling staff."
Cons: "I am not a large person, 5'4, size 8. I was uncomfortably cramped in my seat. How do they expect normal sized humans to fit here??"
Cons: "Was put on standby for a flight I purchased a full ticket to, had to wait for an hour by the terminal to make sure I got a ticket, which meant I had no time to get any food. Would only take credit card on the plane so I went without eating all day. Headphone jack was broken, meaning tv was useless"
Pros: "it took off and landed"
Cons: "multiple incorrect a/c notices by email containing incorrect information. Started with the confirmation of the original flight booking. It had the origin and destination mixed up but had the correct cities. That's impossible with the corresponding flight #'s. Called AC, they said; oh well. Then multiple notices in email of changes to times of depart/arrival/gates. Showing these email changes to A/ C Gate Staff, they said each of those 8 notices for departures or return flights was wrong info and they concluded; "oh well". They don't care, and they weren't interested in reporting the errors to IT people."
Pros: "I am glad to have this opportunity to express what I was thinking when I got off the plane on Sunday. That was one of the best flights I have ever had. The flight was so smooth, take off, during flight and landing. Koodoo sto our captin! Also, I noticed the sir quality was great. I'm didn't feel dry or irritated by the sir as can sometimes happen. The crew were pleasant and I liked my seat. Hope the flight back is as enjoyable."
Cons: "Nothing of import."
Cons: "Hair in my breakfast and they wouldn't give me another meal also by the time they reached me all the options but the overlooked egg was available they didn't explain just dumped the meal on my tray table and when I asked for the other option was told straight out no... I've flown on many airlines and that was by far the most foul meals I've ever had budget airlines do better won't fly ac anytime again.... My original flight was delayed 5 hours to connect so I was transferred to another flight and my bags didn't make it so I went 4 days without luggage also"
Pros: "Different announcements for boarding occurred almost simultaneously, making it hard to understand what was being said."
Pros: "It was better then the trip to Toronto"
Pros: "Thanks to the Air Canada for helping me take an earlier flight and make my connection in Vancouver"
Pros: "Other than the rude employee in Vancouver's ticket and baggage counter, I'd fly Air Canada all the time if I could. SO much better than any of the other commercial airlines."
Cons: "We had a 10 hour layover in Vancouver, which would have been fine except that we had to get our luggage and recheck it the following morning. This left us outside of security, unable to go anywhere to rest. No one expects to be comfortable when you spend the night in the airport, but this was worse. No where to sleep, no decent chairs to rest in. We weren't sure why, since our connecting flight to Seoul South Korea was also Air Canada, our luggage had to be picked up at baggage claim, held on until the following morning, then rechecked. The clerks at the Air Canada ticket and baggage counter were supposed to be opened at 9, but an incredibly rude employee snapped at me that he didn't have time to talk to me, that I'd just need to wait until 9:30 when they opened."
Cons: "This was an absolutely terrible flying experience. Our flight from Toronto to Vancouver was delayed by almost 5 hours, which meant I missed my connection to Victoria. Almost no information was given about what to expect about our onward travel connections in Vancouver (most people had connections). I was told that not only would AC book me on an alternate flight, but there would be an agent to meet us with information about baggage, hotel stays, etc. There was no such agent. An agent was only available for folks connecting long-haul to Sydney, Australia, but for no other destinations. I tried to call the airline directly to get information, and kept being told "you will have to speak to someone at the airport". No information was given about where my bags where, whether they would be at the airport or about my connecting flight. I was also told that if I chose to stay in a hotel I would need to pay out of pocket and then seek reimbursement. Unwilling to take the risk of not getting reimbursed, I, like many of my fellow travellers, chose to suck it up and sleep on the floor at the airport. They also failed to tell me that I would need a brand new boarding pass, so after waiting 30m to get through security, I then was sent back to wait another 30m to "check in" yet again and get another boarding pass. This was absolutely one of the worst flying experiences I've had recently, and it utterly frustrates me that AC has a near-monopoly on Canadian air travel. I live in Victoria and will likely go back to what I did in the past, which was take sea travel to Seattle and fly from there just to avoid Air Canada."
Cons: "4 hours delay with no explanation and the least of apologies."
Cons: "The city I went to was locked down due to covid. Neither the airline nor budget air helped me get a refund before the flight took off.. Still waiting to hear back..."
Pros: "Nice crew, comfy seats, good communication from Captain, efficient boarding"
Cons: "It was all fine"
Pros: "The staff did their best with controlling passengers who were a bit difficult. Overall a good experience."
Cons: "Implement the row by row getting off the plane. The flight back to Vancouver people were standing in the middle isle grabbing their carry on and waiting to get off the plane."
Cons: "Free snacks."
Pros: "Quick boarding. Clean plane."
Cons: "Disgusted that baggage wasn't included in the ticket price. I've taken the route 6 times, and this is the first time baggage wasn't included in my ticket. Seats were very small and cramped, with very little room. Not enough space in the overhead lockers for baggage which made cramped seats even more cramped. The TV didn't work either so was a long flight with little entertainment."
Pros: "Affordable and on time"
Cons: "Bizarre cabin crew announcements and chaotic boarding"
Cons: "The staff did not want to accept my ticket purchased through kayak, told me that should have bought a ticket directly through air transat, and they told me to buy a new ticket elsewhere if I wanted to travel on that day. So I had to buy a same day ticket with air canada for an additional $900 CAD, and my ticket bought through kayak was useless, making me waste the entire cost of the ticket purchased through kayak."
Pros: "Crew were nice"
Cons: "No entertainment system!"
Pros: "The crew was so accommodating! They took great care of us and provided us with a meal, drinks, and coffee in the morning. Such a great experience, will definitely fly with them again!"
Cons: "The seats could have been a little comfier!"
Pros: "Comfortable seats; attentive crew."
Cons: "Cabin temperature; too cold."
Pros: "Crew amazing. Passengers great"
Cons: "Seats are way too small. Aisles way too tight. Recent acquisition by air Canada must improve passenger comfort."
Cons: "Newer aircraft"
Pros: "Crew very good, food was good, middle seat of 3 could have been a little more comfortable."
Pros: "Crew was good"
Cons: "Couldn’t fit my carry on in their plane so I was forced to check it, plane was very cold, very little to no leg room"
Pros: "Old plane so seat pitch was good"
Cons: "Maintenance issues meant a 2 hour delay where we stayed on the plane"
Pros: "The crew was good."
Pros: "Great crew"
Cons: "Better on board entertainment"
Pros: "Clean modern plane. Nice crew."
Cons: "Seats were far too narrow. Couldn't sit back without overlapping shoulders."
Cons: "Stroller was not at the gate. We had a connecting flight. Had to go out and check in again to collect the stroller."
Pros: "the crew was great,"
Cons: "The aircraft was crappy and old. The leg room was smaller than normal, timing delayed by hours, no comp given, still all refreshments needed paying for"
Pros: "Seats had decent space."
Cons: "Only had limited food so when the staff came, they had nothing left except for junk. Pretty pathetic considering we have to pay for it too. They prefer to let their passengers starve. No entertainment. Wouldn't take air Transat again unless I had no choice."
Cons: "Had to pay 100$ for an extra bag because I was 4kg over weight then also had to transfer my bags myself during my layover. There was no entertainment on a long haul flight from London to Toronto. And zero space on the lonhaul flight. The least space on a plane I’ve ever had and I fly almost every week. I will never fly air transat again unless absolutely necessary."
Pros: "Great price! For the price, we didn't expect much, just travel and get there safe - NO FRILLS. We paid a little extra for legroom and are happy this was not an inflated price. Paying in advance for our bag and getting a small discount was also appreciated. "Get what you pay for" without feeling "nickled and dimed" is what we consider economical and fare treatment."
Cons: "Again "you get what you pay for" is considered. However if I was to be critical, the choice of movies was a little stressful and one sided. (Star Wars and The Avengers). I brought my own entertainment but I felt bad for the Older generation who may have preferred something a little more relaxing and less CGI explosions. Also the interior decor and hardware of the plane was seriously aged and worn, which could use for an upgrade soon."
Cons: "Old plane small cabin and seats hurt after 4 hrs."
Pros: "Friendly staff, comfy seats, in flight entertainment and charging stations at every seat"
Cons: "Not a lot of leg room, hectic boarding"
Pros: "The flight was on time"
Cons: "The plane noise was loud"
Pros: "The flight was brief."
Cons: "Cramped, very poor landing, insufficient information as to how to get to the flight with my luggage. I couldn’t find my luggage at the other end."
Pros: "Checking In was really easy and the TSA process was speedy"
Cons: "The flight attendant kept insisting that we take our headphones out even there were no announcements being made."
Pros: "Flying to Europe departure timing and the crew service were great. The regular food was better than all the bigger airlines I have flown recently. I look forward to the trying the gourmet offerings in the future."
Cons: "You have to pay extra for seats assigned when you buy your ticket or select them 24hrs before departure. Airlines still have not learned how to deal with babies on parents laps. The little children on parents laps on full flights are as uncomfortable as the neighboring passengers. Bathrooms need mid flight service. Passengers were not considerate."
Pros: "Price includes checked bag and meal. Direct flight."
Cons: "We were delayed an hour and a half for takeoff but were given very limited information. The cabin was kept incredibly cold with blankets only available for sale. Food was unappetizing, drink selections were very limited, and the entertainment system was fairly outdated."
Cons: "Flight was delayed, boarding disorganized, very little legroom, only one beverage service for a 5 hr flight, no snacks (pretzels, peanuts etc)."
Cons: "No chance to change or reschedule flight. No understanding with a bit of compassion the situation."
Pros: "Meals provided Plane was early quick, smooth flight"
Cons: "No personal tvs Plane was old and falling apart in some places (e.g. arm rests) Staff wasn't on the ball (friend ordered vegetarian meal option but was given chicken, asked for water and staff ended up forgetting)"
Cons: "Uncomfortable seat"
Pros: "Can’t think of anything except my window seat"
Cons: "Way too cramped a plane, horrible food, crew were not very pleasant. The entertainment system was broken and there was nothing offered to customers. At least give everyone a free drink or something. They told us they tried to fix it but that was obviously not true. And they tell us once were in the air, which is unfortunate because some of us could of downloaded things in advance had we known. Just handled exceptionally poorly. I will not be flying with Air Transat again after this experience. Once was enough."
Pros: "The Direct Flight was pretty nice. Don't have to worry about losing your luggage."
Cons: "Where do i start? The seats are so narrow! My husband sat near the window where he ended up putting up the arm rest and sharing my seat with me. And of course the man next to me took just as much space so here I am in the middle squished between 2 big men, extremely uncomfortable for 8 straight hours. Obviously couldnot sleep due to the lack of space. They also didn't provide tv on any of the seats! What were we supposed to do for 8 hour? MISERABLE FLIGHT TO AND FROM AMSTERDAM!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN. THE crew was snobby to so don't bother asking for anything extra. You'll get all attitude."
Pros: "One ground staff member was nice"
Cons: "Ignorant flight attendant, and didn't provide any instructions on how to travel with the baby Served drink, no snacks in whole 5 hour flight, no screens Tight legroom"
Pros: "I liked the legroom even though we had a regular seat. We sat 2x2 seating and were very pleased. Some staff were nice. The price was a good deal. So it boils down to having mediocre for a bargain or nicer accommodations for more pricey fares. My husband thought it was very good though."
Cons: "Food was awful. Service for food and drinks took way too long. Why give food 20 minutes before you are giving a beverage? I have always had drink service prior to food. I did not understand this. Breakfast was a piece of "carrot cake" that looked like was picked up from the local jail in Toronto. Really my only complaint. Flight was bumby but not anyone's fault other than Mother Nature. Water in bathroom stopped working halfway through flight. Seats were not comfy as other airlines. My butt got numb somewhere around Greenland."
Pros: "Boarding the plane was well organised."
Cons: "We boarded in time to fly at 10:05pm, however 7 passengers didn't turn up until almost 11pm. We weren't offered any snacks or drinks whilst waiting. Our 7 year old son spent most of this time desperate for the toilet but we weren't allowed. We all just wanted to go to sleep after a long day, I wanted to get to sleep because I faced 4 hours drive home after landing in London. We were served food and drinks at around midnight... I was asleep and was woken by a stewardess shouting "Would you like a drink" (not sure if she was speaking to me - but to be honest on a night flight I expected the aircrew to be a little more tactful). The cabin lights were eventually dimmed at about 1:30 for perhaps a couple of hours, when they were turned back on and we were served a slice of carrot cake for breakfast. The whole trip felt very bizarre, the opposite of the outbound trip where everything felt very special. After landing we retrieved our luggage only to find our cases were badly damaged, we've traveled with the same cases for the last five weeks during which time they have survived without a scratch."
Cons: "The cabin was blazing hot and stuffy for the whole trip. The cabin crew for the most part struggled with faking the whole "nice and pleasant" part of their job. Really made you feel like you inconvenienced them if you ask them a question..... I only asked one, "what are the food options?" I didn't have a measuring tap to prove it, but the seats definitely felt tighter than most aircraft, and were very uncomfortable. I never have difficulty sleeping on a flight, even a Ryanair flight, but I along with half the cabin could not get comfortable enough to nod off on this flight. It was reassuring that I wasn't being overly picky when I saw half the cabin going through the same discomfort as me. Food was even worse than the usually bowel clogging garbage that you usually get elsewhere. All in all, if you are saving $400-500 flying with these guys might be worth the trip for you......do not penny pince and fly with them if the are $200 cheaper, absolutely not worth it. As for me I travel too much, and life is too short to have to put myself through that again."
Pros: "Good flight and helpful crew!"
Cons: "It's time to update the cabin to have displays in the seats on all planes. Streaming entertainment is ok with the app a we used but then you should be able to charge your devices to very least - no jacks on board the A 310 and this on an intercontinental flight and no note to have the decices fully charged before the flight."
Pros: "Checkin attendant set us up on our own bench given the flight wasn't full. Much appreciated rather than playing games with premiums. Nice, new aircraft. Good basic flight services, though the meals were nothing fancy."
Cons: "No pillows available, and blankets for purchase. Airline certainly didn't go to any lengths to facilitate passenger comfort on an international overnight flight. Flight schedule was also kind of weird. Turned the lights on 2.5 hours out from destination for a pass-out-packaged-biscuit meal service. Was not a restful flight"
Pros: "The overall experience was so bad, that it is hard to think of anything positive.....oh, one thing. The beer they originally served me was room temperature and the kind stewardess went out of her way to get me a cold one."
Cons: "First off there was a 3 hour delay in the terminal at YYZ. Once on board, we sat at the gate for another hour (4 hour delay in total). Finally worst of all, since they are a "discount" airline, they fit in 9 seats per row as opposed to the usual 8 in an airbus 330, and I am sure more rows as well. (3x3x3 vs 2x4x2) I have never been so uncomfortable on a flight in my life, and I had an aisle seat! The guy next to me was an elderly, portly Portuguese man, and because the seats are so narrow, he was spilling over into my seat (no fault of his own). Neither of us could nap And the fare was not particularly cheap at $580 one way. It was truly horrible. I arrived exhausted and am still recovering from jet lag"
Cons: "The plane was hot due to an AC issue that delayed the flight for almost two hours, and then continued to be hot throughout the duration of the flight. The crew was rude and not very accommodating. The in-flight entertainment and food service was not up to date and sub-par. There is little that could motivate me to fly Air Transat again."
Cons: "Wish we knew to download the app before the flight to benefit from streaming movies"
Pros: "Pleasant crew. Flight arrived early"
Cons: "Very budget food"
Pros: "Crew were courteous and professional."
Cons: "The seating was extremely cramped, food wasn't fit for consumption, and entertainment..not worth mentioning. These things have nothing to do with the crew, but is directly related to the management and their willingness to annoy and test the tolerance of their customers. Just reflects the tastelessness and cheapness of the airline. Will select other airline next time."
Pros: "the flight arrived and left on time!"
Cons: "I didn't like the food - could only eat one thing on the menu. More wheat free choices are needed. Crew were not quick to pick up trash or provide drinks of juice and water, tea etc. Seating is very narrow (and I am small -don't know how large people manage)."
