Book Hertz hire cars in Las Vegas

• What are the payment options: Will I pay for the car before or at the pickup?

There's an option to prepay your rental with a credit card (Pay Now), which usually comes with a discounted price. A prepaid reservation is subject to terms and conditions you must familiarize yourself with before signing. If you make any changes to a reserved car rental, your price may change. Once again, read the fine print to find out what fees apply when you cancel a prepaid booking. You can also use the Pay Later option, for which you have to provide a security deposit. Then Hertz will put a hold on your credit card for the total rental cost, which you'll pay upon returning the vehicle. The hold is released 24 hours later.

• Can I get an electric car from Hertz car rentals in Las Vegas, and what are the benefits?

You can book an electric car at Hertz. Its fleet of electric cars has lower or zero emissions to help you drive the greener way. Full-electric vehicles are as useful as their gasoline-powered counterparts. The best part about driving them is ample power and improved onboard features. So you can expect a more comfortable journey throughout Las Vegas. There's also a good number of hybrid cars, combining the best of both worlds — efficiency and power. Browse the available electric car models, research how they work, and book a rental through KAYAK.

• Does Hertz allow customers to pick up cars at one point and return to a different location?

Hertz has one-way rentals to make life easier for clients moving to different cities or whose trips get interrupted. So after a long day of business in the city, book a Hertz car rental to take you home. You can also rent a vehicle in advance when flying from a different state. You'll find the car ready for pickup near the airport and can drive away to your destination hotel in Las Vegas.

Our car was ready as we had booked several weeks ahead of time. We did have to wait a long time as there were 2 employees working the front and checking cars in the lot. There was a wait list for same day pick up. And as they were backed up and it’s first come first service. We had to wait through 45 min of everyone who hadn’t booked ahead. Staff was patient and friendly. Drop off was super easy just drive up and left the keys inside. There was someone inspecting upon arrival. Thing else to do. Unlimited miles was a wonderful feature as we drove a lot. The car was perfect for what we needed good handling 4x4 for off road terrain food ac and spacious.Reviewed 26 Sept 2026

Pros: Free water bottle refill machine inside the Hertz. Allowing pickup of "manager special electric car" a few hours earlier before .appointment,. Cons: Does not allow any refund if dissatisfied with car rental, no refunds of any kind for cars that are returned early. at the same time, charges full day rental price. extra $11 USD charge for electric car prepaid charge up at Hertz counter. Counter staff lied about electric car range (says it was 200 miles, was dashboard display was only 130 miles range on 80% charge during highway high speed dirving). Electric car is super slow trying to charge, takes over 5 hours to fully charge at ChargePoint stations. Also very limited spots and places for charging purely electric cars. After this experience, I will NEVER want rent an purely electric car again for any planned road trips longer than 50 miles roundtrip, no matter how cheaply it was priced (eg. ~25 USD per day). Eletric cars only seems to be good for very short trip.under 50 miles total.Reviewed 14 Apr 2026

Hertz did not have a car when I arrived at the start time of my reservation, and said it could be one or several hours before one showed up. I rented a car from a different agency instead. It then took 4 phone calls and 2 hours to get a refund. 0/10 experience.Reviewed 21 Mar 2026

Staff was great but the pickup was challenging due to what appeared to be slow, cumbersome systems, requiring re-inputting data after a small error paying on my part .Reviewed 24 Oct 2025

It was a bit chaotic at the pickup counter, apparently they were out of cars in Las Vegas? But luckily they had the large car I had booked and we were off! Great car, no issues. The people at the counter were lovely despite the mayhem.Reviewed 17 Oct 2025
